Looking down at Shira, Atticus smiled, "Trust me, I know for a fact that there are others out there, that you can love." Of course Atticus was speaking from past experiences. "It may take a few years, but eventually, you will find another who makes you whole. Who feels the void in your heart. I know that I did."
Shira managed to smile up at Atticus then and nodded in reply. She looked down and wiped her eyes then with her sleeve "I'll be sure to look out for Mirai and Vincent then..." she promised.
As Shira smiled, Atticus gave her a small kiss on the cheek, "Thanks." he stated as he laid back down on the bed. "While we're on the subject. What are we going to do about Texas?" he asked. Atticus promised that he would never step foot in Mirai's territory, nor would he interfere with her life again. That meant he could not approach Texas. "I mean, it is proven that he is the Sleeper Agent, but my hands are tied."
Shira laid down next to Atticus "Mirai is stronger than Texas. If he does lose it, I would like to think Mirai has enough strength to pin him down and stop him." she said "Push comes to shove... We can find her teammates and ask for assistance." she said, referring to Herald and Emma who were teamed up with Mirai and Texas often. "I have that leftover bike that we got on the sky mission that I have been meaning to give to Herald anyway."
This would be Atticus' first time hearing about Mirai's team, he never really paid attention to that sort of thing, but he did find it odd that she and Herald would be on a team. "That's...interesting." he commented before turning over and facing Shira. "Mirai has gotten even stronger now. I mean, did you see how she transformed in our battle. She is indeed capable of doing great things. I only wish that I could see her grow with my own eyes." From the way that Atticus was talking, it was clear that he was proud of Mirai, even if he won't admit to her. "She may never grow to love me, like she does Charlotte, but as long as I can help her, either as an enemy or mentor, I wouldn't mind."
Shira smiled towards Atticus "I think she does love you though." she told him, placing a hand on the side of his face. "If she didn't, she wouldn't have talked to you at all during your battle."
Atticus sighed, "You may have a point, but still, in the end, I don't feel like I did anything to increase our bond. We aren't any closer." this was the one of the few things Atticus wanted to settle before he died. "Now, I don't think I will ever get that chance." he added, before placing his hand on top of Shira's. "I'm sorry, Shira. Because of all of this, my time in this world, has been limited to a little over a year." he admitted.
Wrapping his arms around Shira's waist, Atticus pulled her closer and kissed her gently on the lips, "I could spend the rest of my time, just laying here, holding you in my arms." he told her.
As Shira laughed, Atticus would smile, as long as he could make her smile and laugh, he was perfectly fine with dying. "That does sound good, doesn't it?" he asked in a humorous tone.
Atticus tightened his embrace of Shira, as she moved closer to him, "It's been so long since we've been this close. I couldn't tell you how I longed to hold you so much." Atticus stated.
