Ketsurui drew his Zanpakkuto and watched the blade glimmer in the light. Why wouldn't it talk to him?
"Talk to me! Why won't you tell me anything?! Why are you a damn reverse blade?! What am i suppose to do with that?!"
Rui cried out in furry. Being a soldier of the past he couldn't understand why his blade reflected in such a weak way... He thought he was a strong person... he knew he was a skilled swordsman... so why... why would his blade, a reflection of his soul, reflect so weak?
"It is not I that am not talking... but rather... you not listening"
A womans voice echoed in his ears. His eyes perked up and his ears cleared. The furry in his voice was gone but rather a sympathetic and sad voice broke out.
"Are you the soul that resides in this blade?"
Rui's surrounding changed and before he knew it he was standing ontop of a tall tower... not quite sure where he was but a beautiful woman was standing in front of him. Small and petiet with long silverish white hair with two angelic wings sprouting from her back.
"Who are you?!"
Rui called out trying to seek answers...
"Ketsuui... can you still not hear me?... it's me... ______________"
A tone deafness appeared the moment she called her name out and Rui was still not able to hear her name.
"I see... you still don't know... you still can't hear me..."
"What?! How?! You still haven't answered my question!"
She shook hear head and appeared behind him
"Your still not listening... maybe... with a little more experience... and a little more time... you'll be able to hear my name... find your resolve..."

Rui blinked and before he knew it he was standing back in the same spot he had been earlier staring at his blade. Clutching his hilt he sheaths the sword and places the sheath and the blade infront of him. He sits down and meditates...
"What does she mean... 'find my resolve'?"
He pondered the question and seeked his mind. He thought about the anger that he held after passing over and then once comming here thought about the search for his family... with no success.
"Why would it be a reverse blade?... I never had a problem slaying my enemies... so why would it relect that way?"

Ketsurui opened his eyes and drew his blade... remembering the words of his first sensei the words still echoed in his ears.
"A blade of protection... know your enemy... know yourself... and above all know who you fight for..."
Like an old ghost the words haunted him. He had disobeyed his teacher and joined the war... lending his skills to the lesser of two evils...
Clenching his sword he brought it down in a single slash. As if slashing at an invisable enemy Rui practices his katas. His swordsmanship was a mismatch of two different styles... one... the Konomo ryuu used mostly in indoor combat utalizing the sheath and the blade as a dule weapon... and then his second but most primary art the Battou ryuu... many different forms of it existed including Iaido and dreaded hidden techniques not known by name.
"I'll release it even if it kills me..."

"Relax Ketsurui... you're thinking about it too hard..."
A soft voice said to him as the sweat from his brow fell down his face. Focusing his eyes forward he thought about the words of his sensei...
"Remember who you fight for... a sword swung in your name will be swung in the name of all people..."
"It is because of the fact that you did not use your sword to protect the weak before... now I will force your sword to protect..."
It made him reliaze why his blade ws the way it was...
"A blade to protect the weak..."

I glanced up. Amaya had no real chance of surviving this far out, but her determination vowed to overrule nature's decision. I sheathed Waraku and looked up quietly.
"Very well," I said firmly. It was then that I began my Shikai, "Yang..." I breathed and suddenly everything started to slow down around me as if it were stopping things from moving without them realizing it. Watching all the Hollow make their slowmotion moves I started again to practice my Shunpo flickering backwards and forwards behind Hollow here and there. From a normal point of view that was all I was doing.
I glanced at Amaya she was still in the process of slashing her first Hollow. I slit its throat. I calmed myself for a moment, letting my body get used to the strain I was putting on it, pumping out the Reiatsu.
I didn't use my Shunpo but instead carved myself a path using the Simple Spirit ball technique.
He stood in front of the person called Rednal. He hadn't seen much of him. Disolving his Shikai he looked at the kid.
"Who might you be?"

"So because I ignored the teachings of my past over 600 years ago... this is the way my soul wishes to repent?"
Ketsurui questioned, not sure if he'd get a response... following his katas he found a tree... on the tree he marked nine spots... the nine spots that are the striking points on a human body. These nine points were the points that swordsman usually defend in their stances.
"I understand... I finally understand... before I can make peace with the world... I must make peace with myself..."
Rui said softly as he sheaths his sword and takes a few paces away from the tree.
"From this day forth... I will not derive from my teachings... not ever again... I made the mistake once... and the moment I tried to change... the people I loved most in this world perished from my grasp."

Drawing his blade once again he places his left hand up and cradels his sword inbetween his left index finger and thumb.
"With this sword... i'll do it... I'll peirce the heavens and find my own justice... and I swear... I swear I keep my promise I made when I married my wife..."
Thrusting forward Rui used the springs in both his lower body and upper body to push his blade through. The blade peirced the center point where he had marked on the tree symbolizing the strike to the heart. Kicking the tree to pulled the blade out Rui held the sword high and let the blade glimmer in the light and reflect the blissful sun onto the ground.
"Can you hear me now Ketsurui?... Can you hear my voice?"

I swore that I saw just a flicker in front of me and before I knew it the hollow in front of me was gushing blood at it's neck, almost all the hollow around me had been sliced and diced. I sheathed Yamachou.
"What the..." I turned to see that Kai had made his way amongst hundreds of hollow just to talk to the boy who I had been fighting.

I looked up. There was a small feeling that I had, the next tournament had been set up. I decided to take my leave of here, "Sensei, you're through to the next round aren't you?"
With that I held Jiyuuishi in front of me and used my Shunpo in such away that it appeared I was disappearing into thin air and "shimmered" away to my destination.

"Tournament?" I thought about it, I had to watch this, "Mitsuo, come on!" I called over to him and then followed sharply after Kenji, there was absolutely no way I was going to be left behind.

"Hai," I bowed to the hollow in front of me and sealed Neiku again, turning and running after the other two, only Kai would be left now. Though I was was wondering who he'd be fighting.

"My name is Rednal." Rednal replied simply. "You've probably never heard of me... I don't stick out much." He looked at the remaining Hollows for a moment, then calmly drew his Zanpakuto. "I came here because my opponent forefit the match to come help, but it looks like I wasn't needed." he sighed and scratched his head with a free hand. "How troublesome. Bothered you all for nothing. Overtaker." This was not the name of his Shikai. As he spoke the word, a brief glow eminated from his upper right arm, and the boy was suddenly surrounded by a red glow.
A moment later, he vanished. Overtaker was not a teleportation spell, and contrary to what most people thought when they heard the name, it was not something that would let him strike down all the Hollows in the area in an instant. That was a bit beyond his abilities. Overtaker was a kidou spell tied to his blade that went with the less-common definition: his speed was massively increased. When combined with Shunpo, this was a terrifyingly fast speed to go. Rednal rarely used it for the simple fact that it was quite hard to dodge things when he went that fast. He made good time, however, as he left the battlezone.

(This was just a training area for those who needed combat, the deeper you go in the more hollow of increasing difficulty you will find)
I watched the ability take leave, and decided to follow, at least until the arena.

"It's that voice again... it's her!"
He whispered as he was once again was brought ontop of the tall tower he stood on earlier. She was once again standing infront of him holding the same sword he held. The blade was fliped on the wrong side and it looked as if it didn't have a stratch on it. She held the sword in the same offensive stance that Ketsurui's old instructor held it.
"If you are able to defeat me... you might be able to hear my name..."
She said somberly
"Why can't you just tell me?"
Rui questioned slightly confused and aggervated
"Because... you lack the will to hear my name... you lack the resolve I told you about... but your will to grow strong is imense... so I will teach you resolve..."
She came at him flying through the air with a single slash that took all of Rui's energy to defend against... She was so powerful, reguardless of her small stature. Grunting a little Rui only spouted a few words before he pushed her back...
"Got a little bit of fight in you... don't you?"

Using the muscles in his legs he leaps forward and pushes her off him. Take a few heavy breaths Ketsurui contracted his legs and then sprang forward twisting his body like a spiral increasing the momentum of his sword. She raises her own sword to defend against the attack and with a single hand on the sword stops the attack. In astonishment that she was able to defend against it so easily she incresed her reiatsu and it felt like 1,000 pounds fell upon Rui all at once. The weight felt like it could crush him at any moment. She swings her sword and Ketsurui flys back away from her.
Breating heavily he uses his sword to help him stand. While standing he clutches his chest to try and help him breath but with no success...
"Fine..."
He said silently... He let out a might roar and his own spiritual energy increased... to about the same level as hers. He took off once again an performed the same attack but this time the point of take off hand been destroyed by the sheer pressure of his movements.
