Marisha twitches as the water balloon hits her. Looking over her shoulder she spots the culprit. It was the same kid from before, the one who had ignored her war comment. Still, she had not forgotten that she had not managed to get him back for the last time and turned towards the boy. Grabbing up another balloon she aims and throws. She watches as the balloon hits dead on and squeals in glee. She had finally gotten Briar back for earlier and just now.

Briar had been distracted by seeing Akane’s balloon manage to hit a squirrel so he didn’t notice Marisha’s tossed payback heading his way until her balloon hit his squarely in the back of the head.
His head swivelled in her direction at her squeal and Briar made a note that he’d get her back later. Instead he tossed his current water balloon in the direction, grinning to himself when a squeal suggested that the balloon had made contact with one of them.

Having exacted his vengeance on the defective balloon that had exploded before he could throw it, Griffin was feeling a bit calmer. It was good to blow off some steam every once in a while. Of course, this whole game was supposed to be about blowing off steam, but he tended to take things more seriously than some of his classmates. Rather than goof off and use the time as an excuse to run wild, Griffin had set himself a goal: to hit every student in the yard. He was methodical about reaching it, though he was also easily swayed by his feelings about what was going on, and he often took time out from his mission to get revenge for perceived slights.
The empty balloon under Griffin's foot squeaked as he pivoted, reaching into the bin he'd taken it out of. He took another balloon, filled to bursting, out of the tin, and lobbed it at the nearest kid- in this case, Ralph. He was so surprised when it actually hit the target that he just stood there, slack-jawed, wide open for payback.
Derek cackled evilly at Akane's obvious disgust. He didn't care if he missed from then on. The revenge he just got was so worth it. The boy whooped loudly when the balloon missed him. Spinning on his heal, he stuck his hand under his chin and wriggled his fingers at her going 'na na na na na na. You miiiiissed' the whole time before parading off in a different direction. As he passed a random kid, he casually threw a balloon not caring if he missed. Which he did.
After a bit of time out to grab another snack, Briar had figured that now was as good a time as any to get Marisha back for her last balloon throw.
However he hadn’t counted into stumbling into a few kids that he’d managed to successfully hit earlier. He’d ended up getting clobbered by a couple of balloons, but was pretty sure he’d managed to hit one of the bunch back.
He was out of things to toss though, so getting Marisha back would have to wait a little longer.

Marisha decided now would be a good time for a quick break and ran over to the snack stand, dodging other kids balloons while she was on her way there. Once there she quickly looked over the plethora of drink choices before spotting her favorite. A bottle of pink lemonade sat in the back of the cooler. It seemed to have been forgotten by the other children and Marisha found this to be her perfect chance to grab it. Taking it up she asked the adult running the stand to open the bottle for her. Once the man had done so with a smile she grinned and thanked him before taking a few quick drinks, almost choking on it from drinking so fast. Once she was finished with the small bottle and finished drying a bit from the times others had gotten her, she threw away the bottle and headed back into the field fully refreshed.
Once back in the field she quickly grabbed another of the many balloons littering the ground. Then she searched for her target. Finally finding another girl on the field she took aim and threw. She then pumped her hand in the air as it hit. She was very happy she had managed another perfect shot.

Still happy from his last achievement, Derek pranced around the field before finding his next target. Picking up a balloon, he threw it at a random kid with a cheer as it exploded.

More water and confetti. Eliza grimaced as she wiped the little pieces of paper off of her arms and clothes. Dragging her hair to the side Eliza noticed little paper flakes and grimaced. She had a feeling she was in for a long bath when she got home. Eliza darted towards a tub that wasn't occupied and picked up a balloon. She could target Derek again, or Briar, or Griffin. There was just so many choices. Eliza shrugged and merely tossed her water balloon high into the air. It'd be up to gravity if it struck anyone.
Sadly it looked as if her throw had been wasted. The balloon came back down to earth and popped harmlessly on the grass.
Akane couldn't stand Derek. He was as cocky as she was. How infuriating. She gave him the I'm watching you gesture where you take your fingers and point them to your eyes and then at the person you're watching.
She couldn't think of how to outgross him. She thought it seemed like he might even like getting dirty. So, she sneaked about like a ninja, got as close to him as she could, and whacked him over the head with a water balloon like it was an Easter egg.
Thrilled with his success, Griffin quickly grabbed up another balloon. If this was another hot streak, he wasn't about to waste a second of it! But who hadn't he hit yet? It was hard to tell sometimes, and he didn't want to just stand around figuring it out. With a shrug, he tossed the balloon at Derek, grinning as it hit him. Maybe it was time to worry less about who he hit, and more about just throwing balloons every-which-way he could. With that tactic, he was bound to hit somebody. Even several somebodies.
But, he wondered, would that be enough to hit everyone?
Briar was feeling very soggy – in fact he was pretty sure that the squelch-squelch noise he kept hearing was coming from his foot wear.
He was having fun though and had managed to toss things at quite a few people.
He almost stepped on an unexploded balloon, but managed to avoid it at the last minute and then to his left he spotted Marisha.
He looked down at the balloon, then across at Marisha again and then down at the balloon again – it seemed like the perfect opportunity and so grabbing the balloon Briar sent it flying across in Marisha’s direction – his aim was off however and the balloon ended up hitting Derek instead.

Marisha, still smiling from her latest successful hit, ran to grab another water balloon off the grown. It took her a few tries however as it seemed that other kids had the same idea of getting the ammo quickly. Finally she managed to grab one and find another target. Once again she raised her arm and threw. Hoping that the balloon would hit. Only to have the balloon slip and land at her feet. It seemed she had been to hasty in her throw.

Eliza saw the two balloons hit Derek, one had been thrown by Briar and the second had been almost rammed onto Derek's head by a girl that had snuck up on him. Hmm, could she get back into Derek's good graces by retaliating for him. Eliza found herself another balloon and began trailing the girl Akane.
When Eliza judged herself to be a good distance away, she tossed the balloon in Akane's direction.
After reintroducing his face to the ground, Derek got up just in time to see Eliza throw a balloon at Akane. She missed, but hey as far as he was concerned, Derek appreciated the effort. He'd been missing the whole game so he couldn't fault her for that. Flashing Eliza a double thumbs up, he picked up a balloon and hurled it straight at Griffin, a grin breaking out when it connected.
Eager to keep his streak going while he could, Griffin picked up another balloon and looked around for a target. Before he could find one, however, a different balloon burst all over his back. The surprise of the hit, combined with the force of it, caused him to pitch forward. The balloon slipped out of his hands, landing harmlessly back in the bin he'd taken it out of. For a moment, that seemed like it would be Griffin's fate as well, but he caught the edge of the bin and managed to keep himself from toppling in head first. That would have been absolutely mortifying, not to mention really dangerous.
Rather than pick up where he'd left off, he just stood there for a few moments, bracing himself against the bin, breathing heavily from the exertion required to not fall into it.
