"Se--Seriously?" Illo stumbled. This was something he expect to hang for if anyone from the school found him. By the sound of it it was little more than a missed invitation to one of the salacious balls the academy was known for. He had to double-check, but the conversation was rolling on without him.
"Ah..." He wasn't sure if he could understand all of this next part. "I've fought gods before," he muttered to himself as he wrestled with it for a moment alongside the girl's speech. "Anyway," he said shrugging, "I think I'll go with the former. I don't really see the use in training under Death anymore, but I don't particularly wish harm on him--or anyone else for that matter."
"... You sound like you have experience with that type of thing." Illo decided to have a seat on the soft grass there. "It's a shame people can't leave well enough alone, but..." He thought back to his time at the monastery. Were those men driving him because they themselves were driven by some ulterior motive, some starry-eyed, vain pursuit of the stars? All those times in that training, multiple lifetimes worth of blood, sweat, and tears shed in one for the sake of some abstract idea that he himself couldn't even be sure was present in his mind at the most basic, pure level as they had suggested; the Buddha nature in him clawing at the back of his mind with each utterance, in response each Kiai, with the sinking feeling that it was all a fabrication. It tore him apart for just a short moment. He lost his place.
"... I'm sorry about that," said Illo realising he was in fact spacing out. "I think I know what you mean, though. I'm a confident man, or at least I used to be, but these days I feel like I've just been a tool."
"... I think I'll start standing up for myself." He wasn't speaking to her so much as he was making a resolution to himself at this point. Finally, he was able to give the woman in front of him, no matter he alignment or thoughts about the monk, a genuine smile.

__________________________________________________________ Chilia sighed "oh...you fought gods too...interesting...i took out one of their hearts" she stated pulling out an Orb with markings on it tossing it up and having the wolf appear catching it " was the only way to kill that annoyance..." she sighed only to hear him make his choice "well then i'd recommend leaving then...the longer your in death city then the easier you will be to find" she told him "lets just say, i've been around long enough to experience corruption as well as learn what people are thinking" she told him before he began to space out, she didn't mind it was still silence for her so that was an up for it, soon he would speak up again " good for you...another recommendation...if your going to stand up for yourself...try not to doubt every action you make...if someone dies or you betray someone...just apologizing or even making up for it will put you back where your claiming to be now" NEW THEMEDismissEntrance theme__________________________________________________________

He wanted to kowtow and shout "TEACH ME YOUR WAYS," but that would've defeated the meaning of what she was saying. Of course it was easy to follow your own lead when someone was telling you what to do and presenting it as if it was something you wanted to hear, but that wasn't exactly deciding anything for yourself; though, to be fair, the multiplicity of dualities made it difficult for someone of his education not to question the merit of each action from each side. No wonder he felt conflicted! The butterfly sipping dew doesn't simply wait for the chameleon to eat it, nor does it lament the wasted warmth of the sun, but its mind instead lies elsewhere; anywhere in between there was inaction, and Illo had always seen the merit in that. He simply nodded to her suggestion.
"You sure sigh a lot," Illo observed with a small smirk curling around the bank of his lips. "Is it because you've been alive so long? Are you bored of living?" Needless to say he was amused. Perhaps it was the recognition of this stranger as a warrior on a level similar to his own.

"Sorry, sorry," Illo said stifling a chuckle. "You'll have to forgive me. I haven't spent more than five years outside the monastery yet." At this point he was more interested in how this person knew so much about the school that he didn't. Was he ever acknowledged by the organisation to begin with? If he wasn't, it could have made him an enemy right away. ... Or it could have been as the woman said. It didn't sit well with him that the school should be so lax, especially if there was some kind of immanent threat looming on tomorrow's horizon.
"Anyway," he said opting to switch gears. "Can I ask what you're doing here? If you're on the list I shouldn't think this a good place to relax."

__________________________________________________________ Chilia would grab the orb from the wolf only to have it disappear along with her putting the orb away in her clothing, soon the monk would ask another question "watching over someone" she told him "and even if im on the list...the only one that can actually give a good fight is Death himself...and he's busy with other matters" she told him having a serious tone in her voice make it clear she wasn't lieing about how she wasn't worried. "Wow... You must be pretty strong then, killing gods and being a match for death!" Illo was ecstatic. He'd gotten up from the ground, eyes alight from the thrill of having finally found the really strong people in the world, or at the very least one of them. "How about a little friendly match? What do you say?" His grin was unconcealable.

"Oh, nonono," said Illo waving his hands rapidly in front of him, "I didn't mean right now. Whenever suits you. After all," he continued while searching his sleeves, "if you're that strong, I wanna fight you at your best; that way you can show me all your best techniques." Soon he was holding what looked like tree bark.
"Here," he said taking a step forward. "It'll stabilize your soul wavelength so you can heal faster." Regardless of whether she took it or not, Illo went on. "I haven't gotten the chance to fight very many people outside the monastery. It'd be nice to see some different styles, you know?"

Cotton Shorts Kid catalog what? the tree bark...um...no...ioono...if its used to heal i think a crew member has to approve of it i guess, also this issue with healing, believe me alot of the crew keep forgetting Chilia aint a normal WW lol Chilia DeLycan

__________________________________________________________ Chilia looked at him "again hate to break it to you but thats not going to happen...if you can sense my soul...you won't find it anywhere near normal...I only have half a soul...and the other half isn't here...and i can't heal my body unless both halves are healed at the same time...meaning if one half tries to heal the body won't react" she told him "so natural healing is the only means for me" she told him, she wasn't lieing, infact she had many people make that mistake as when she was hurt or injured they tended to try and heal her with magic but it always failed, only thing that seemd to work was stitching up the wounds but even that wasn't enough. (Hm... Well, I don't really think it's usable in battle. Basically, it'll shorten the healing time after a fight by a few days or so. I don't think we're talking about the same thing, now that I think of it. Still, I thought I should ask. Oh yeah? If I'm understanding correctly Chilia was the first character to fuse souls, which sparked a plot point in the future arc. Right?) Illo simply nodded to this explanation, giving a "hm... Interesting" face as he did. He generally found new people fascinating, and this case, with so much of what Chilia revealed about herself being the very essence of "new," it was doubly so.
"I see.... Well, in that case I wish you a speedy recovery." He gave a bow, realising finally that he might have been causing the woman more trouble than he was worth, and started to leave. "Hopefully we can have that match someday! Maybe prove that sportsmanship is still alive. When you need to find me, look for Illo, the Iron Phoenix." He waved, and was gone as suddenly as he appeared.

Cotton Shorts Kid she is infact the first character made with a fused soul, but the explaination behind it was unexplained, and even in the future arc that is unclear but i showed what eventually happens to fused souls, one of them fully devours the other which is what happened to future her as Delycan ended up consuming Chilias soul and gained a full soul, and i wouldn't say sparked it was just a small thing to Noiras character to try and notice. A part of her wondered if taking Nilin through the crazy trick-door of her ability twice in such a short time was too much, but then Xuza let it go, only caring if it turned out her little kouhai was having any trouble. Then again, it did give the two a nice excuse to hold hands or whatever.
"Here it is," she said gesturing to the expanse of Death City. Back to the old point, I suppose. Xuza couldn't help sighing a little. Lately this was becoming something of a hotspot, but she only knew her part in that--large as it was. She was bored of the place without being aware it was boring. "You can see all of Death City here. ... I come here sometimes. I guess."

Nilin was marveled by the sight. Enough to ignore her current dizziness due to the whole portal thing.
"The city is so big... so beautiful!"
She was amazed about the sight she completely forgot to let go of Xuza's arm. Making a few passer by to chuckle at their picture.
On the other hand Xuza would get another message.
"Good call, keep things in motion you'll be harder to track. Back up is dead. Reinforcements are sent in order to keep the aggressor at bay. Did you found out anything that could tell us why is this person trying to kill her?"

Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death" 
"Working on it..." Xuza sent quickly before turning her brown eyes up to Nilin again. A followup: "What else do you know?" This was also fair, seeing as the mission was framed as 'babysitting,' not an outright investigation. The sinking feeling of having been dipped in quicksand burned up Xuza's spine and stuck fast in her heart an aching arrow. Who would send a rope down for her?
"Ye-Yes, it is... Definitely postcard material," said the technician joining Nilin. Here she took the opportunity to think of what to say next while they both sipped on the smooth landscape with their eyes.
"Marco and I used to come here all the time--in the other world. He died fighting," she said without too much remorse. "A lot of people think that's romantic, but I just remember how scared he was." She wouldn't go on any more if she wasn't pressed.
"... So yeah," she would wind up saying either way, "that's my story. Ever since I've had an enemy, ya know? --and let's just say I'm not the only one doing the hunting; I've had a lot of close calls." Hopefully this would prompt Nilin to share a similar story; Xuza had a face on that said 'please relate!'
