Wait. Wait. What was that monster doing? What did it think it was doing? Jude had a bad feeling about this...
His blades were still stuck. More frantic tugging happened. Oh karma...

Regrettably, a certain Sun Division leader could not provide any sort of assistance as he was still too busy making fragmented shadow cookies with a very particular sort of Insanity remnant a few levels above.
He was there in spirit though. Friendship and nakama and all that stuff.
A certain Death lead who was regrettably, actually first-hand experiencing the situation was taking his jolly time simply waiting. It was always better to have disposables handy when it came to a potentially dire situation.
Tybalt had been hesitating. He didn't want to be attacking something that may or may not be Red. After all, he did not want the guilt of killing her a second time. However, while standing back, he noted that whenever a hunter struck, the runes dimmed. Whereas, when a student attacked, the grew. Almost as though they were coming to life.
Was she feeding off their Fear perhaps? Could that help her?
The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to test out this theory and if that was the case, he wanted to use something a little more powerful. So with his mind made up, the black dog quickly took a stance, allowing his Fear to gather and collect into one powerful mass in his body. Once he had enough, he unleashed it onto the creature and watched as the bolts of lightning came down fast and strong; striking the creature square in the back.

Jake suddenly felt the ground trembled, and tried to steady himself. An earthquake? ... Of course not. Giant runic beast wreaking havoc, of course.
Well, time for round 2! He rushed forward for another attack, but stopped short when he heard someone addressing him. DAMMIT, WHY COULDN'T THEY LEAVE HIM ALONE?! Some weird eye-patch lady was calling to him to... fetch her shoe? It was then he noticed the flipflop not far from him.
... what the hell. He only gave the redhead a cold stare seeming to say "GET IT YOURSELF" before rushing off to attack.
Well, all he had to do was NOT get hit, right? <... Why are you such a jacking idiot?>

Mei squinted up at the sight of the behemoth like creature. This was all too much like that last time everyone was here, fighting Red. Taking an unnecessary breath, the doll backed up a little to get a better look at what they were fighting. It was massive! The sun was nearly blocked out, just by its wings alone!
Glancing about the field, she had found that she had lost sight of the halfbeast during the chaos. Dammit.. where is he..? With a sigh, the doll shifted her gaze to one of the ToTers who arrived on the scene. Like Avery, they gave a small buffer to her attack, allowing her to do a little more than she had thought when she struck at her target.

Ofelia, being the ever charming Ofelia that she naturally was, looked at the person who'd shouted at her and let it warp itself around in her mind. Her insanity was high, she only had one flip-flop on, and Rue was cackling for release in her skull. The teen was more than happy to oblige as she ran forward, grabbing her loose shoe in the process before darting up next to the guy that had blown her off.
With a leap into the air she cackled crazily, the blades on Rue practically sparkling and glowing more vivid than they should, and she drove her arm down with a massive punch against the beast. It wasn't the hardest she'd ever hit with her weapon, at least not with a charge, but it would do. Perhaps then all she'd need to do was strike again, and again, and when the charge came back she'd use that one FEAR they'd been practicing, or something of that sort. It didn't matter, Ofelia was landing back on her feet, and she hopped on one foot until she got her flip flop back on. Then, and with all the insanity in her mind helping her out, she turned and looked at the person who'd run off after yelling at her.
"Hey, lil' s**t. Looks like yer tryin' ta hit with hand-ta-hand weapons but ya suck at it." She snorted as she twirled flexed her fingers, Rue shimmering with FEAR and blood on her surface. "Yer new, yeah? Stick ta the backs, Death Boy. Let the Sun come out an' play. . . unless ya think ya can do better than me." Her aggression was entirely knew, entirely misplaced in this situation.
The point of the matter was they all needed to get out of there. she used the back of her hand to smear the blood that had pooled on her face from before, more of the scars on her flesh ever showing.
Also, seriously, she was pretty hyped up on Insanity.
With a mighty tug he finally managed to get himself free from his predicament. After he managed to gather his bearings he moved in to attack the creature hoping to distract it from ... Whatever it was trying to do.
Either way Jude didn't approve of its presence on the battlefield.

With new found determination, the black dog ran closer to the massive beast and struck again. This time, unlike the last, he opted on longer lasting attacks rather than the hit and runs he had been so fond of using. If it had a chance of offering more Fear, than that was the route he would take.

It wasn't a very strong blow, but it was a hit nonetheless, so he really didn't understand what the redhead was talking about. Clearly, she was insane. Wait, correction. All GIRLS were insane. Yup. That was it. Stupid crazy hunter girls.
He attempted another attack before drawing back, glowering at Ofelia. "Would you like to DIE?" He raised the tonfas menacingly.
This didn't seem to bother Jake.

Another strike, followed by a jolt of electricity and then black dog was moving around to attack the creatures forelegs.
With each attack, he caught glimpses of the runes pulsing brighter and brighter, which, although it pleased him to see, perhaps shelter would be a wise choice. This thing was massive, if it unleashed an attack with him so close to it, he would be wiped off the face of the earth. He had done what he could for the time being. For now he would clear out of the way and try and find some of his friends and make sure they were alright.

"You should do something. They count on you, you know."
She was rewarded with a flat look. A sort of flat look that kind of only reached her bust level. A dissolving piece of Insanity-plagued rock fell victim to one overly fuzzy grey boot. "Is that supposed to be some sort of joke?"
The other ignored the considerably shorter of the two's deliberate jibes and continued to steadily follow the other forward, down the singular, circular winding path. White fog lay ahead. Nothing but white fog, the strange sheer of the cliffs-
- And then a giant figure that reached out, a god amongst the fog, bared its jaws and flared an angry red even as the ants scurried below, panicked, confused.
The two picked up pace, and then time seemed to speed up too fast as they literally found themselves at ground zero, staring up at the rampaging behemoth of a creature while the Bogeymen rushed around them, attempting to secure traffic. It was a feeble attempt at best: there was no ignoring the rampaging figure that loomed overhead.
"What-" He finally managed, catching his breath," What is going on?"
One of the bogeymen paused just enough to recognize him. They snorted, loudly, pointing to the group of recovered victims. Some seemed to suffer some sort of delerium, muttering something about home, while others curled, half-petrified in varying shades of grey.
It was like nothing he had seen before.
A roar interrupted the three as the cliffs shook slightly, the fog spreading towards them, cold and angry. For a second, he felt as if it were directly looking at him. He tried to move-
-Only to stop as one of the half-petrified as from the fog formed a very familiar face. Just a face, and then half a face, and then nothing entirely.
"Come with me Ar-"
He managed a loud yelp, involuntarily stamping out the fog, falling rather ungainly on his butt. As he glowered at anyone watching, daring them to comment, he thought he could for a second hear something else, but the moment passed as all other voices were drowned by the roar of the beast above. She seemed almost lost.
Striking again, she took note of the possible attack to come. If it was anything like she recalled before, she would need to find some cover. Fast. The last time she had been hit by the flames of insanity Red, she was knocked out in one blow. She didn't want to go through that again. But where was Bul? She couldn't just leave him out here. Ahhhhh craaaap!

For a moment, Jordan just stared at Caelius as the Death lead ordered them to kill the students. He'd been questioning the man's sanity for some time; dissipating the students in this Insanity-tainted space seemed like an invitation for the fog to take them over, unify the creatures against the Hunters. But hell, what did Jordan know? He was only a Sun, only recently promoted, no longer the lowest of the low, but sure as hell not in on the secrets and plots of division leaders. There were always, always things he didn't know, and it was making him angry.
It looked like Rep was going to get his fight after all, Jordan thought with a certain bitter satisfaction, and stalked further into the too-familiar canyon, looking for something to hit.
When the monster reared up out of the canyon walls, out of the fog and Insanity, he was forced to release Ferros, clapping his hands to his ears to dull the sound; through the wall of noise, though, he couldn't help laughing with disbelief at the familiarity of all of it. You again?
The cataclysmic events of last Halloween were replaying themselves, like a ghost stuck in an endless loop, and it was all so ******** pointless -
The creature reared back and opened its jaws, a glowing ball of white beginning to coalesce there. Dangerous. That might hurt. Jordan remembered too clearly the way flame had washed across all of them, hunter and student alike, burning away skin and hair - distract it, get it to stop, he thought. He charged in, Ferros manifesting in his hand as he ran, and swung at its leg.

He was moving forward. Just keep working. Keep hitting. Keep going. It was an almost mindless routine with something that didn't really fight back mostly because Jude was one ant amongst many waiting to get squashed and possibly burnt away by some sort of radiant light from above.
Maybe. If they were lucky, it wouldn't last long.
Would they ever be so lucky?
