Janis smiled a little nervously. She had become a dragon but had yet to really live like one. It would be odd. However, Cornelius was with her so she couldn't complain. She was sure she could adapt easily to living like that. Janis nodded slowly. "Alright." She finished getting dressed and sat down behind him for a moment, taking his slightly dirty hand. "I can't wait to live there with you. You've done a wonderful job with our knew home."

"I try my best..." Cornelius stated. He squeezed her hand gently and turned his head to face her. A gurgling noise erupted from his stomach and he said, "Weren't you going to make breakfast? If so, instead of normal human breakfast, which takes a while to make why don't I go back and teach you some basic dragon eating."
He smirked and said, "Do you remember when you ate that deer? Well, we're going to do that all over again. I'm going to make you like that and other things like small tasty lizards or fish the size of houses."

Janis rolled her eyes. "If you say so." she said with a mischievous grin. "Now is as good a time as ever, I suppose." she stated and got up, pulling him with her. "Alright. You lead the way." she said. Then paused. "When you say fish the size of houses.... What are we eating? Whales?" she asked, unsure if he was joking.

When Cornelius stood he shook his head no. "There's a type of fish in the ocean that lives in the deepest depths. They're so big yet so deep underwater people rarely see them." Cornelius stated, "Some dragons, if they're lucky enough to be able to dive that deep can catch one or two of them in one go and pull them up. They cover large swaths of the sandy bottom on the ocean's floor though so they're big enough to be a threat to a dragon if you're not careful. Most call people them Big Blues..."

Janis's eye lit with curiousity and excitement. "Think I could dive that deep?" she asked aloud. She didn't really expect that much of an answer. She had yet to really test her skills in that area. It would be amazing to try though. "Let's just start easy a guess. Deer?" she looked up at the sky. It was still sunny with large puffy clouds. There were quite alot of them in the distance. There walk lead them to the cliff. She transformed, actually excited for some reason. "I'll follow you."

The drop here for a dragon, even one that is partially transformed shouldn't be that dangerous but just watch your step." Cornelius voiced with a little concern before looking of the edge and falling down the cliff head first. He had practice, so about half way down he managed to fully get transformed before gliding into the lake at the bottom with a little bit of trouble. "Janis!" he called up to her as he raised his scaly neck to look up at her. "You try now and before we actually go hunting I think we'll need to set a quota. I'd like to maybe get fifty or sixty deer in a day so we have enough to last the week and little extra."

"Is there even that many in the area?!" she said, shocked. Did they really eat that much? She was still amazed by that. She jumped down after him before he answered, fully transforming as she dived. Halfway down she unfurled her wings to catch the wind and help slow her. The wind was in the wrong direction for it to be smooth. Her landing was even less steady than his, but she didn't injure herself. "How about 10. We don't want to make deer go extinct. Maybe we can compensate by hunting other animals too?" she suggested.

He pawed the ground with his foreleg and said, "Since I don't have claws my main method of hunting is different. Usually dragons grab and gut their prey. I will have to teach you how to sit and stomp on your prey."

Janis flinched slightly at that picture. She wasn't sure that her clawed hands were made for stomping. Still, she would learn his way of hunting for now. She followed him, shaking off the acess water from her scales. "Alright then." she said, patiently. "Let's get started."

"You seem a bit worried about using your claws or something. I can see you flinching. When we get to the deer's lands I can show you my method and you can then decide for yourself what you want to do. It's a short walk from here." Cornelius explained.
He stood up on all fours and slowly walked out of the lake canyon and towards an open plain. It didn't take long since his feet could cover hundreds of feet in a few strides. At fifty feet tall Cornelius was more than capable of seeing many things around him. He spotted a herd of ten deer and smiled. "We're here. I'll go and show you what we need to do. It's really rather fun to use the sit and stomp method."
He walked as quietly as he could towards the deer keeping his tail lifted up into the air a bit so that it would not drag on the ground. Amazingly, none of the deer moved, but grazed on the grass around them without fearing him since they sensed no threat from him. One raised it's head up and looked at him even in the eye, but lowered its head again. Cornelius sat down gently on the grass and and curled his body around the deer to make a half wall with it to prevent them from running. Even sitting down his body was at least fifteen feet high, so jumping over it was extremely difficult if nigh impossible for the creatures. He raised his hooves over two unsuspecting deer and cast a shadow over them. Then with one quick strike he brought it down upon them crushing them.
The thudding from the impact was loud and the deer jumped up in fear bolting away from the noise. Cornelius lifted his hoove and found a pile of squished meat under it. "This looks tasty once you cook it, but a lot of it splatters all over the place with this method. It's kind of childish if you want my opinion, but fun." He said as he looked over at Janis from a distance.

Jnais was fascinated. She wondered how the deer could be so stupid. She still flinch when her crushed the deer, rindering it a unrecognizable piece of meat. "You can be the one to pick the bones out of that." she joked. She laughed and looked over as the other deer were getting away. They would need more than two. Luckily, the scattered. A hand full were heading toward her hiding place, in an attempt to get away from Cornelius. She whipped around and ran after the deer. She followed quickly cutting a few off as they tried to get away. She curled herself around one like her husband had as it stood frozed with fear. She didnt like the idea of crushing it. In a split second decision, she racked her claws across it's throat instead. It's death was quick. "I got one!" she said proudly.

Cornelius looked over at her and smelled blood coming from her direction. He saw a small bit of it covered her claws. "You're doing a good good. I suppose raking out a deer's insides is how you like to do things. I don't see how that's any less messy than my method. I don't have claws, so I have to do this."
He picked up the meat in his mouth and bounded over to her. "Canphew carry this?" He asked. dropping the meat in front of her. His movements started to make the rest of the deer run around like crazy. A few past under his legs and out of his range.
"Darn, I probably shouldn't have done that..." he noted as they hopped off to a nearby forest.

Janis watched him go not all that upset. He was right about the killing though. Anyway you did it it was messing. She chuckled to herself. Was that a metaphor... "I can carry it." she said, sinking her claws into the mound of meat. It really wasn't that bad. "We have several days to accumulate a stash. We don't have to hunt too much today. " She lifted the meat, testing it's weight. It wasn't all that heavy. In this form it wasn't all that big either. One meal size. Her stomach rumbled.

Cornelius nodded and agreed that it might be better to get a stash over a couple of days. He heard her stomach growl and said, "Are you hungry? If so you can just eat what you caught right here. Fresh deer meat is delicious, but if you don't like it raw you can get used to it over time. Dragons have stomachs that can digest raw meat." He wrapped a wing around her and said, "You know... We've only been here a while, but I should say it might actually be good for you to learn how to eat raw meat since we may have to eat and run at some time due to cooking being slow." He was secretly worried about her Aune Diane. She had not said anything this past week about what she'd seen and he'd not heard anyone speak of spotting dragons, but he wanted to be careful.

Janis had to admit that made alot of sense. She looked down at the meat skeptically. She really could say she didn't like it till she tried it. Tentatively she nipped on it, tasting a small part. It was actually very good. She was ravenous and started to eat the whole thing. "Tis ish goo'," she said around a mouthful.
