Lisanna shot Kalay a slightly resentful look, which he earned from his chiding comment. Who was he to reprimand her like she was a child? And what did he know about it anyway? She wasn’t just going to forget that Riyel had gone completely psycho and attacked her brother for no apparent reason. She wondered if Kalay would feel the same if it was Ellale who’d been assaulted like that. She said nothing though and just looked down at her lap again, remaining like that until she heard the others arrive and a familiar voice spoke up.

Lis glanced over at the entrance in surprise, taking note of the tall dark haired student who was standing there. How long had he been there…? It took her a moment to actually recognise him as Sou Ho despite hearing his voice. He was looked so different dressed casually that she was amazed. He looked much younger and more carefree like this. Lis got to her feet and listened intently as he gave them the mission briefing, nodding faintly. Most of this she had heard last night in his office with Kalay, so she was content in her understanding of how this would go. She watched as Kalay dismissed Carbuncle, the gf disappearing mid-jump, and then as he and Ellale went over to the piles of stuff to get organised. Then Kalay turned and called to her.

She blinked and just about managed to catch the object he threw at her, surprise evident on her face as she turned it over in her hands and realised what it was.
”My bow…I thought this had been lost…thank you.” She said quietly, examining it and seeing that it had been fixed, though there were still marks on it. Despite the fact her mood was kind of subdued Lisanna was very relieved and happy to have it with her again. She wandered over to the supplies and took a bag to store her bow in, as well as her arrows and sword and throwing in some typical student-like belongings to hide them and add to her cover. The other bow she left, since she didn’t need it anymore. When she was ready to go she stood back and waited, turning her attention to Sou Ho again as he mentioned the two people who would not be joining them. That was a little disappointing to hear…but they would be safer at the garden anyway, that was for sure.

Lisanna clasped her hands together in front of her skirt, looking around at the assembled group and wondering if any of them were scared of what lay ahead. She felt tense but was at least trying to look calm so that no one would see how close she was to letting her nerves get the better of her. Lloyd seemed to have the most unusual reaction to all of this, being clearly excited and enthusiastic. Did he really know what he was getting himself into? What they were all getting themselves into? Lisanna stared at him, a slight frown shadowing her features. She had a terrible feeling about this mission that she couldn’t seem to shake off.

From where he stood the briefing had been a bit hard to hear, yet he felt no desire at that time to close the distance between himself and these strangers. Instead his mind left the carefree world and its citizens in favor of a more hostile; yet more familiar one. He'd been listening to the important bits, though even the parts which concerned him meant nothing. His face likely betrayed his confusion at the saying he muttered back to himself. "Rock... band?" His lack of knowledge along these common lines likely an oversight he wouldn't have the time to correct. He did have the comon sense to search out the girl who had been handed the folder, his leader. And as she approached the crates, he found his way near her and believing they must have broken the equipment into same group sets. He reached out for something which seemed likely to fit his weapons. The blind way in which he groped around might've given someone paying close attention that he had no idea what a rock band was supposed to look like or do.

Everyone seemed to be well prepared and ready. They did not have the same sense of doom that they had the night before. Oh he could see that they were still concerned, as well they should be, but they seemed to have an energy to them, even Nona surprising him with a playful comment on his attire. 'Let's hope they can put that energy to go use.' He thought, watching the group through a guarded expression.

Sou-Ho looked up when Taeria spoke up, inquiring about the absent Sophia. He turned his head in the direction of the doors of the lobby that lead to the dorms, and then to the cafeteria. After a moment, when, as expected, no one came through either doors he faced Taeria and shook his head. "I do not believe that Ms. Vinginshy will be joining us. I will give her until we have gathered our equipment and set out; but if she has not joined us by then, I will be left to believe that she made the decision not to join us in this mission." There was little left to be said. If she had made the decision, who were they to force her to come along. She had determined herself unable to face the monumental task that the group had been set before them, and her ability to gauge that for herself was admirable. "As disappointing as it is that she will not be able to join us, think of it as this: That is one less comrade for you to worry about. She is much safer here in the Garden, then out there in the field." Sou-Ho did not seem ready to dwell on the matter too long, although he had been honest in his speech. The fewer who went, the fewer they risked losing.

"A friend of mine..." Surprisingly, this caused Sou-Ho to chuckle, the usually stoic man laughing quietly to himself for a moment. "Yes, I think that will work just fine. What is a staff against a gun?" Or so would be the thought process of most people, unaware of just how unforgiving the blows of a quarterstaff could be. "We will be bypassing the security. They will not be checking the trains for several reasons. There will be a security checkpoint posted in the station itself in Deling, but we will have slipped into the sewers by that point." Sou-Ho had regained his composure, his cool and serious mask back up again where it had slipped, the SeeD having found humor in the irony of Kalay's fake backstory. "We will be fine. This is all merely extra precautionary steps I am taking to ensure we do not get stopped before we have the chance to even see our target."

Sou-Ho shot Lloyd of disapproving look after his sudden outburst. "Suddenly I feel less confident about my mission planning than before. This mission may already be a bust." From the deadpan expression and the monotone manner in which he spoke, it would have been hard to tell whether or not Sou-Ho was being legitimately serious, or was, perhaps, delivering a joke. Whatever the case, he continued to eye Lloyd, holding his tongue and refraining from reproaching the young operative. 'Give them this much.' He thought to himself, watching Lloyd as he approached.

"Hm..." Sou-Ho hummed in thought, closing his eyes and tapping the book he clutched in his hand, held against his abdomen. "I think I can have that arranged, although I am not certain how much use you will have of it fo--" Lloyd did not seem to wait to hear a response, rushing off with his spear in hand to the hangar. "A bust indeed." He muttered to himself, musingly. Looking at Nona, who was already nose deep in the folder with a serious expression on, it seemed that he had made a good choice in setting the two up. At the very least they would balance one another out, provided they didn't try to kill each other first.

Sou-Ho nodding approvingly when Nona burned the folder. He would hope that she had taken to memorizing the contents, to share amongst her teammates, but he trusted that she would have done that much at least before burning the document to which there was no copy of. And by disposing of it now, no risk in doing so later where they might draw attention.

Sou-Ho blinked when Nona brought up the uniforms, and for a moment a conflicted look flashed across his expression. He had taken a moment to think and assess what she had said, but at the sounding of a bell in the distance his thought process was cut off and he was reminded of the human concept we all know best as time. "It seems we are running behind. Gather your things and let's be off! I won't allow us to miss the train due to idle chatter." In truth he considered the reminder a blessing, that we he did not have to agree with Nona on the uniforms. As much as he hated to leave things unsettled, he didn't much like the idea of discarding the Winhill Uniforms, even if they posed a risk. Such was his pride.

{❉ OOC ~ Well.. my first post back, just mainly Sohpa's thoughts, worrys, her status, and well what shes doing) ❉}

Tap, Tap, Tap. Footsteps, is all Sophia has really herd for the past day. Since her teammates.... no friends went on the mission, Winhill has been pretty quiet. Sophia choose not to go, and has only been sen moaping around the garden by herself. Shes been deep in thought since the night of the ball, specifically since Lloyd confessed to her. It should have been the happiest moment of her life but she ended up choking and coming up with a poor excuse as to why she could not accept his feelings. Sophia couldn't stop replaying this scene over and over in her mind, her heart dropping every time she sees herself choking up... again. She choked up on her exam and almost got herself killed... then choked up again when Lloyd confessed to her. When it came time to decide if she was to go on the dangerous mission, Sophia came to the conclusion that she would choke up there too and probably not get a second chance. She was not ready to die... she would have so many regrets, her biggest being Lloyd and not telling him the truth.

With all these thoughts and the worry that Lloyd and her friends would not live through the mission, Sophia was set into depression. A smile hadn't reached her face since the ball, her eating habits dropped drastically, and she has had three crying fits all in the past day. Not that she did much before but Sophia doesn't make any eye contact with anyone in Winhill anymore. She has become unsure of how to make herself better and what to do with her life. She is unsure of what happened that night with Lloyd and why he made her knees weak and her stomach fill with butterflies, and how her heart skips a beat at the thought of him. Stopping for a second in front of the elevators, Sophia put a hand over her heart and looked up. I don't want to be a failure... She thought as she let out a breath and looked back ahead, continuing her walk around the garden, making the same circle that she has been for the last hour.

"Please come home to me Lloyd..... I have to make up... for my mistake.." She sighed after talking to herself, fiddling with her necklace as she continued her walk. Though Sophia liked being alone, someone to talk to sounded pretty good to her at the moment. Hours felt like they were going by like weeks, and no one has said how long the mission would take. Not only that it was made clear that none may come back alive.

Yuka

User Image

After the display in the morning, Yuka had found herself very flustered for the rest of the day after her little encounter with Lloyd. It didn't help when someone said anything, causing her to, in generally, beat them down. It was not so much that she didn't like Lloyd, so much that his actions were making her life miserable with teasing. Even worse, she had no idea where he had gone after his little display, disappearing. She'd managed to figure out that someone had seen him leave, meaning she couldn't corner him and demand and explanation for what he had been doing, so she settled with doing things as she normally would, going from class to class, before arriving at the end of the day with nothing more to do. She had given the afternoon announcement, attempting to not kill her brother in the process, before riding the elevator to the bottom floor. Stretching in the elevator and yawning, Yuka was pretty well ready to crash somewhere and sleep.

That plan was changed abruptly when the elevator doors opened and she caught sight of Sophia. She stared at her for a moment, thinking, before hurrying out of the elevator and falling perfectly in step beside her, as if this were something normal as day. "Hey, where is your obnoxious friend." Yuka started, sounding slightly irritated. "You should tell him that kissing someone when they're trying to give announcements is not fair." Well, if Sophia had missed what had happened during the announcements this morning, she knew now. Yuka glanced over at Sophia quickly though, gauging her for a reaction as she continued. "You seem pretty down. Feel like talking about it?" The question remained if Yuka was exactly the right person to talk to about issues, but she certainly seemed to be trying to talk to Sophia. She knew her, after all, so it wasn't exactly hard to chat with her... just the situation was a little weird.

The sound of foot steps beside her didn't phase Sophia one bit. Though she was thinking that she didn't want to be alone at the moment now that she was not she almost wished she was again. The voice was clearly Yuka's though Sophia did not look at her. Obnoxious friend? Sophia thought about it, going through her new set of friends and trying to figure out which one could be Obnoxious. Just as she figured it would be Lloyd she herd the next words out of Yuka's mouth. Kiss?!

"What?" What felt like minutes to Sophia happened in seconds to Yuka. Sophia's word came out quick, confused, and concerned at the same time. Sophia felt her face go pale as she abruptly stopped and grabbed Yuka's wrist in the process, her eyes wide as she stares the girl in the eyes, desperately looking for some sort of joke. Some sense that this girl was lying. The feeling of her heart dropping in her stomach almost had Sophia shaking if it was not for her tight grip on Yuka's wrist. "Do you mean Lloyd...?" She asked in hopes Yuka would say no.

How could he move on so fast? He just confessed his feelings, how could he want another girl already? Its all cause I choked.... He does not want me anymore. "No..." Sophia could already start to feel her eyes sting from the tears threatening to roll down her cheek. Sophia attempted to think back to the announcements and why she did not hear this. It slowly came back to her, she had purposely went into the shower the moment the announcements came on so she did not have to hear the announcement of Lloyd and the others leaving. From the sounds of it, it was a good idea she did, though how will she know if Yuka is telling the truth or not.

Yuka blinked in surprise as Sophia suddenly grabbed ahold of her wrist and came to a complete stop, staring at her like she'd seen a ghost. Yuka pulled back slightly, a surprised look on her face before clearing into a calmer expression as she frowned. "Who else would I be talking about? I figured he'd have no time to even talk to me, let alone kiss me and run off." Yuka returned, sounding none to pleased about it, even though a faint blush could be seen on her cheeks. She knew Lloyd of course, they'd been friends a while back, but honestly his sudden show of affection was startling and unnerving for her. Sophia seemed pretty unhappy about it though, looking like she was really upset and Yuka pulled her hand free from Sophia's grip. She was eyeing Sophia suspiciously, as if she were trying to figure out something before nodding her head to herself.

"Do you have any idea what it was all about? I figured he'd be chasing after your heels like always. Where did he even disappear too, I haven't seen him all day after that." Yuka sounded less than pleased, her blush having faded as she put her hands on her hips, watching and waiting for Sophia to respond. She was probably coming off a little more upset than she intended, or cold to Sophia, but really she wasn't even sure what was wrong with Sophia or why she'd grabbed her wrist so suddenly. It probably wasn't hard to tell from a distance, but Yuka seemed rather uncomfortable with the change in atmosphere. No surprise there, given Sophia's display. Still, while she usually would have just brushed it off and moved on, she did have some concern for Lloyd and Sophia. After all, she'd like to think she knew them at least somewhat.

To Sophia it felt like Yuka's voice echoed. She was speaking painful words that Sophia didn't want to hear. He kissed Yuka... Sophia was speechless, shocked, and unsure of what her body was doing. When she felt Yuka pull her wrist away Sophia immediately let go of her grip, finally realizing she had a hold of her in the first place. In a way of comfort, Sophia grabbed her own arms, putting herself into a self hug as her body gently started to shake.

Even though Yuka only asked her two questions it felt like she threw a million at Sophia. The tears that had threatened her had finally fallen and rolled down her cheek, the first being quick and dropping off her face and straight to the floor. Slowly Sophia's eyes looked less shocked and her head started to go down in shame as she attempted to find an answer for Yuka. Not wanting to leave Yuka too long without an answer, Sophia quietly whimpered, "I don't know.." She did not want to freak out on Yuka and blurt out all her thoughts about turning him down and him moving on fast and everything else racing through her mind. "He is off on a suicide mission..." A sudden loud sob came from Sophia, interrupting what she was saying. She was going to say with a few other people but she couldn't get it out. Her tears once again started to stream down her face. Her shaking knees finally gave out and she fell to the ground, putting her hands over her face and crying for the fourth tie today. Not that Yuka would know this was the fourth time. Though from Sophia's point of view Yuka didn't really have much sympathy for her. "Sorry.."

Yuka

Judging by the way she started hugging herself, Yuka figured she'd said something she probably shouldn't have, her expression changing to alarm rapidly. Suddenly Sophia was crying, and Yuka was panicking. She hadn't expected Sophia to rapidly go from alright to this without warning. From Sophia's perspective, she probably didn't even notice Yuka get closer or kneel down next to her. She probably didn't even notice Yuka had even moved at all until she was patting her head with a smile on her face. "Hey, I think you don't give the idiot his due credit. He's too stubborn to die." She said firmly. This rapid change had of course startled Yuka, but she was back on step now, realizing something deeper was going on that she had originally thought. Apparently Lloyd was on some kind of suicide mission...? She didn't know why, but apparently he was.

"Come on. Lets get something to eat and you can talk to me." Yuka offered, tugging on Sophia's arm as she got up, basically telling her to get up onto her feet so they could go. It was kind of clear that Yuka wasn't trying to rush Sophia, but she was trying to get her out of the middle of the walkway. Some people were watching, and Sophia bawling in public like this was probably not in her best interest, considering she was a SeeD now. It took Yuka a moment to realize this, Sophia was actually a SeeD while Yuka herself was just a trainee. It was weird thinking of how nothing really seemed to change even though Sophia was a SeeD now. She'd always thought by becoming a SeeD you were suddenly more... well mature. Sophia seemed like her normal self though, nothing like what she had come to expect looking at instructors like Kalay and Sou-ho.

The touch of someone elses hand on her head was different for Sophia. She sobbed softly and slowly moved he head up from her hands to look at Yuka who was patting her head and telling her that she was not giving Lloyd enough credit. Though Yuka was probably right with her words it would not convince Sophia to stop crying. So much more was happening at once. Sophia's crying softened only to a sniffle as she stood up to Yuka's pull, regaining her posture. She was starting to get embarrassed for crying to shamelessly in public and in front of Yuka. She nodded quietly to Yuka and let the girl lead her to wherever Yuka had in mind.

Sophia wasn't exactly hungry but talking to Yuka sounded pleasant. She was a bit uncomfortable with it. She would much rather talk to Tae but she didn't have much of an option at the moment. Tae was also on the suicide mission. Everyone was, but her. Sophia's sniffles slowly downed out as they walked in silence, a deep and shaky sigh comes from Sophia as her thoughts go through what she even wants to say to Yuka.

Yuka was happy that Sophia got to her feet and at least managed to calm some of her tears, the girl letting out a soft sigh of relief. At least she could get her somewhere where less people would be watching. Eventually the pair was on their merry way, Yuka leading Sophia quickly in the direction of the cafeteria. As soon as they were there, Yuka pointed to a table in the corner, out of sight unless someone was looking for them, before hurrying into the line. It wasn't much later and she returned, carrying a tray of some fruit and bread, heading over to the table she'd designated and taking a seat across from Sophia as she pushed the tray between them, sitting back and relaxing in the chair for a moment and she nibbled on some bread thoughtfully. It was clear she was thinking, though what she was thinking about was up for debate.

"SO, you should probably tell me what's going on because between you and Lloyd I'm lost. You've both been really weird." Yuka said, watching Sophia as she did for a reaction. If she could figure out what was going on, perhaps she could do something to help? That was a bit of wishful thinking, but it was something if anything. Even if she couldn't do much to help and little bit would matter, right? She liked to think a little help could go a long way in making sophia feel better and relax. Once again, probably wishful thinking but it was a goal to start with and she could change it as she went. She was also worried about Lloyd of course and his strange confession. She felt like she deserved to know what was going on with the idiot if for no reason than to figure out why he'd interrupted her on air.

The cafeteria seemed to have less people then the hallway which was good if Sophia ended up crying again. Though by the time they got to the cafeteria Sophia's face had already dried up and her crying had stopped for the time being. She followed Yuka to the seat she had chosen and sat down quietly, putting her hands clasped together in her lap. She looked down at her lap as she tried to accept the fact that Lloyd may not come home. Sophia closed her eyes and let out another shaky breath just before Yuka came back with bread and fruit. The fruit looked really good. Despite that Sophia felt sick to her stomach and felt if she ate she would only throw it up due to her stress.

Hearing Yuka made Sophia tense up slightly, gripping her own hands in her lap. Her eyes looking everywhere but Yuka as she built up the courage to tell someone her shameful actions. "Lloyd confessed to me at the ball last night...."Sophia paused and took a quick glance at Yuka to see if she reacted but looked away quickly after. "I-I choked...." She stuttered and closed her eyes. "And I told him I didn't feel the same way." Sophia's eyes slowly opened to stare at her hands in her lap. She let out a breath, finding this a little easier to say ten she expected. "We were asked to go on a dangerous mission..... One that couldn't ensure our safety home...I backed out.... a-and he left for it this morning..." Sophia could start to feel her eyes sting once again. She slowly looked at Yuka wanting to see a reaction and finally taking in the fact that she had someone for once who wanted to listen to her.

Yuka had intended, when getting food, to let Sophia have some, but it became kind of clear that Sophia didn't really want anything as they sat there, Yuka nibbling on bread. She waited for Sophia to fully respond, listening intently to all the girl has to say with a level gaze. As she came to an end, Yuka nodded her head thoughtfully, still nibbling contently on her bread before sitting up straight as she closed her eyes. "First, you screwed up big time. If you really liked him you probably shouldn't have said that, cause that would easily explain why he kissed me. Not that it makes me any happier to know I was a back up plan." She didn't sound too bitter, but she didn't seem amused about it either before looking up at the ceiling. "I suppose that only really leaves on thing you can do then." There was a certain amount of finality to her voice, like what she said would be all she had to say on the topic. Still, she did seem to be arranging whatever it was she wanted to say in her head before looking down at Sophia seriously.

"The only thing you can do it wait for him to come back. And when he comes back, leave no room for question in how you feel about him. I don't care how crazy the mission is, Nipal will come back. He's one of the most hard headed people I know. If anyone's walking away from the mission, you can bet it'd be him." Yuka said in a sure tone, nodding her head. She offered a faint smile as she continued. "And make sure you give him a good slap for me, for kissing me and everything as a back up plan. If you don't, I'll make sure too when I see him." She seemed to be making the situation seem light and easy, instead of telling Sophia she might have lost her chance. Still, she wasn't about to condemn Sophia. The girl was shy about Lloyd. How could really blame her?

Yuka had sounded harsh at first which only made Sophia look down at her lap once again. She chewed on her bottom lip as she slowly loosened her grip on her hands. hen she herd Yuka say that there was one thing she could do, she looked back up at her looking desperate. Theres still a chance...She thought with relief. Her body was tense as she waited for Yuka to explain to her what she needed to do to fix her mistake.

Now sitting back, Sophia took in the idea of her showing/ telling Lloyd how much she loved him. Her face went red, uncomfortably shifting her weight in her seat as her eyes wen on the fruit in front of her. "I guess your right.." She mumbled a bit as she grabbed a small strawberry and spun it a bit between her fingers. She looked at Yuka to see her small smile, trying to encourage her t smile and believe that Lloyd was coming home no matter what. Sophia popped the strawberry in her mouth and swallowed it. Once again fiddling with her fingers but not feeling as emotional as before. Her emotions felt a little more stable now that she was talking to someone. "I don't know what I am going to do if he does not come home though....." She spoke softly as she reached for a blueberry this time and popped it in her mouth. Sophia was starting to realize just how hungry she actually was. "I mean I know hes hard headed and all..... but that's what could get him killed if he takes it too far..." Sophia gulped at the thought then once again reached for another piece of fruit.

It was amusing to see Sophia's expression change at the thought of showing Lloyd how much she felt about him, the blush rising on her face drawing an amused smirk from Yuka as she finished the bread she had been nibbling on since sitting down. Yuka waved her hand at Sophia as she commented on not knowing what to do if Lloyd didn't come home, dismissing the thought. "Trust me. He'll come back. Have I lied before?" Yuka said with a proud smile. She was obviously saying something in regard to her giving announcements and the like. She seemed to relax after the moment though, taking some grapes next and slowly eating them while watching Sophia. It was clear that while Sophia was really worried about it, Yuka was the opposite.

"I doubt it. He's got TL and Ellale to watch over him. If anything, he'll probably be too busy fretting over them to do anything overly stupid, and if I know those two half as well as I think I do, they won't purposefully throw themselves into danger. I think it'll all work out. Just don't worry about it and figure out what you want to say to him when he gets back. That should keep you good and preoccupied." Yuka said, slowly getting out of the chair and stretching. "Now, if you don't mind me, I think I'm going to go find something to read. It's been a while, and with Nebuluos and Laytos out, I don't have any classes I need to immediately attend. You can join me if you want, but I doubt you'll find it much fun to read in my company." With a faint shrug, Yuka offered a smile, waving and turning to go.
