"When I think about it, rules are like people."

███████████████████ ███ ██ █

Sylthefreiyn turned around and saw Christine approaching him. He attempted to change back to his usual self after letting himself loose thinking no one would appear. He wasn't aware that he wasn't quite there as he smiled at Christine. His grin was a bit too wide and he showed too much teeth. "Why Christine, fancy meeting you out here! Nothing is bothering me at all. I feel quite free actually if I do not take into account this putrid fresh air that threatens to suffocate me every day." Sylthfreiyn answered as he outstretched his arms gesturing to the world around him. "A woman such as yourself shouldn't be walking around in the streets alone! You're too lovely to just be ignored like the other women around here."

He was lying through his teeth. His concepts of beauty was a bit off. He had a thing for long fingers and incredibly long wings. It was typical for a male demon to like long wings. It indicated a healthy back and large wing slits. He took a step towards her and he put his arm around her waist and roughly pulled her close and then suddenly released her and stepped back. "Ah, I used too much strength in that. I meant to be gentle. Pardon me." Smile. It'll make things better. So he smiled-- in a rather sinister way.

((He knows how to flirt with women too. emotion_donotwant Not really.))

Oh...dear. Well, well. This was very interesting. This side of Sylth was definitely intriguing. She approved. Christine's smile grew slightly wider--particularly when he pulled her against him in a decidedly ungentle sort of way. "No need to apologize," she said, moving a little closer, just so she could run one finger up his chest and over his shoulder as she stepped around him. She looked back over her shoulder with a smirking grin. "I don't believe I have a label anywhere that says 'handle with care.'"

Christine casually brushed lint off her sleeve, studying Sylth for a long moment. "I must admit, you have have me suddenly intrigued. For one thing, the air doesn't seem particularly putrid to me. I'm getting the feeling you aren't quite what you seem, Sylth. It makes me want to know more."

Well, learning more about an attractive man was never a bad thing but she also had been under the impression all the staff at Rosentale were happy people who sat around in circles singing sounds about peace and love and happiness. And Sylth, really, had seemed to fit the bill perfectly back at the school. Seeing a different side of him made her wonder just how many of the others weren't quite as happy and unified as they seemed. And, well, she might have particular interest in Sylth because he was attractive and because she liked the feel of the dark undercurrent of his psyche in his current mood.

((=w=; Christine, you creepy lady. That also reminds me that I need to draw her wings at some point...because they're really different than Angela's ))

"When I think about it, rules are like people."

███████████████████ ███ ██ █

Oh? Not quite the reaction he had expected. Of course he wasn't going for a disgusted and freaked out woman reaction. He was trying to be nice, but he was just finding right now a hard time to be a flowery prince that society adored.

"Yes. Putrid is too much of a lovely adjective to describe this fresh air. It's utterly horrible and disgusting and this language is just as foul as the opposite of which I relish is associated with these terrible words. Why, it often seems as though I am complimenting the air. Oh it's so fresh and clean-- this air--" Sylthfreiyn stopped speaking suddenly and smirked.

"But I digress. You wanted to know more of me? Why, I shan't tell you. 'The very essence of romance is uncertainty' and if you learn all about me, that would certainly not be romantic at all. It would be quite boring since there will be nothing left to find out. It's better to not search and not find so there will be something to search and find." Sylthfreiyn answered. He examined Christine thoughtfully. If she hadn't run off already, surely she wouldn't mind joining their little alliance.

This time he was careful not to be so rough and he pulled her close so he could lead her along the street so they were no longer standing around.
"What do you think of Rosentale so far? Drab, much? Completely and horribly peaceful?"

Christine went willingly with Sylth, amused by both his strange behavior, and his way of talking in riddles. It took a moment to work out what he was saying, but she managed to work out that he likely was not a Human as she'd originally thought (or if he was, he was a completely demented one) and that language frustrated him because words relayed the opposite of what he meant. Which she took to assume that for him 'putrid' air would be nice.

Or something. He had a most dizzying way of communicating.

"That's why you simply choose someone with secrets so well hidden you can't possibly uncover them all," Christine said. "After all, you're right. If you learn everything about someone, they do tend to become rather boring."

"As for Rosentale, yes, it's dull. But to be frank, I wasn't expecting it to be much more than it is. I only came to find my sister so I could...punish her a little." She smiled up at him, quirking an eyebrow. "Though, now that I think about it, perhaps the school isn't quite as dull as I thought. After all, I thought all the teachers were 'horribly peaceful' to use your expression. And now I've discovered I might be wrong."

"Which makes me more curious. Why are you at Rosentale if you find it so drab?"

"When I think about it, rules are like people."

███████████████████ ███ ██ █

Sylthfreiyn had been busy with trying to keep a consistent hold on Christine. There was just a part of him that kind of wanted to squeeze and smother. But his arm--which he had been battling with some kind of unknown crazy in the back of his mind for control over it--finally relaxed and chose Sylthfreiyn as its master and not the unknown crazy.

"Oh, that is simply because you've only run into those who take life too seriously. 'Life is too important to take seriously,' don't you think? But many of the teachers in the school are players that don a mask before others. Most are not quite as they appear." Sylthfreiyn answered. Well, kind of. It was just Severin and Sylth that made pretty smiles for other people. But Sylth could be wrong. He hasn't been up to date with what was happening with the alliance.

"Why am I in Rosentale? Circumstances. They are nothing but circumstances. It's like asking why a penguin is a bird but cannot fly. There are things that cannot be helped."

"Well, if you have little attachment to Rosentale, then you wouldn't mind destroying it in a rather sneaky fashion? I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to punish your little sister along the way." Sylthfreiyn suggested.

"I'm not sure how 'important' I think life is," Christine said. "But certainly it's irritating to take it seriously all the time. And what you're saying about the staff makes me very, very curious about them." She was also curious about his circumstances, but decided to save that question for another time. She knew--or at least strongly suspected--he wouldn't tell her even if she continued to press the matter. At the very least, she was no stranger to being different that what she appeared to be though she didn't think she would say that. If Sylth was taking her at face value, well, it was just more convenient for her.

"Well, I have no attachment to Rosentale but then, I have no particular animosity toward it either. So I don't really know why I should want to destroy it."

"Though I'll admit it sounds more interesting than teaching beastiology. But I'm wondering what you--and others, I presume--have against it. I might be willing to help, to stave off boredom."

Sylthfreiyn released Christine. He could only take so much touching anyways. "Then the deciding factor is what you will be doing on either side. If you decide you want no part in destroying it, then most likely roaming and chatting and holding hands singing together will be what you will be doing most of your time in Rosentale. However, if you decide to destroy Rosentale, you will lose your job, but there are many schools in the world so it doesn't matter. And destroying a school is something you can only do once in a lifetime--because if you make a hobby of it, you will never get a job again. It takes much plotting and the fun of it is obviously the destroying. It is a chance to exercise the part of your brain that never gets exercised due to the constraints of society." Sylthfreiyn explained as he tapped his skull.

"After all, not very many places will allow such evil thoughts to be legal."

"Do you really think I have any intention of making teaching a career?" Christine asked, raising an eyebrow in amusement. "Whether or not I lose this job means nothing to me since I'm really on here for one reason. Though...I suppose destroying this place would upset little Angela. She seems to be fitting in quite well from what I was able to uncover. I'm sure watching it crumble would be painful for her."

"Besides, I already intended to get rid of anyone she cares about. I'm sure losing those students and teachers would be detrimental to the school. So in the end, our goals likely overlap."

She wondered vaguely if Sylth was a little simple minded from all his rants about how you could only destroy a school once. Because Christine was sure that with carefully placed explosives and some common sense, you could destroy as many as you wanted. But he seemed to veer wildly between blandly polite and melodramatically evil. She wondered which was the real Sylth, or if they were both acts.

Sylthfreiyn shrugged. "The businesses of others have never been a concern of mine. If only that would hold true for other people. It would save a lot of talking and allow more work to be done." Sylthfreiyn answered as he walked alongside her, looking straight ahead at nothing really.

"Ah! But did you know that there is a faction that wishes to destroy the school. The majority is only in it for the fun of it, but there are some who have problems with the school policy of acceptance. Would you be interested in joining? Although if you don't, I probably will have to kidnap you now that I told you and lock you up somewhere. Ah, worry not. It's not so bad to be locked up. Only the prettiest birds only ever get locked up. Which would you prefer?"

Suddenly Sylthfreiyn paused. He was starting to get ahold of himself now and was calming down and he was starting to realize that he had not been acting as politely as he should have. But what baffled him was that she was still here and was actually treating his ranting as a decent conversation.

He wondered if he could just go off on random tangents and make absolutely no sense. Would she still treat it like a decent conversation?

Christine laughed slightly, amused by this casual threat--though she had a feeling he was completely serious, no matter how flippantly he said it. "That is, of course, assuming you could lock me up," she told him. "Of course, I could simply stab you and slit your throat with your own blood." She reached up ran two fingers lightly down his cheek and along his jaw--mostly because she suspected he wouldn't really appreciate the gesture. "But then, you're much too pretty to simply do away with.

"And while being kidnapped by you doesn't sound too bad, being locked up doesn't suit my plans. So if I can't allow myself to be kidnapped, and I can't simply do away with you. I suppose I shall have to join your little group. It suits my intentions anyway, and sounds more interesting than being a mild mannered teacher at a boring school."

"So tell me, who else is in this little group of yours? And how are you planning to 'destroy' the school?"

"When I think about it, rules are like people."

███████████████████ ███ ██ █

Sylthfreiyn was startled by her touch. Mainly because in his culture, women just didn't touch. At all. Unless they were family. And he figured the women were the same way up here since he usually kept a moderate distance from them.

Of course when he lost his senses, it was kind of hard not to be rudely touchy.

Well, he didn't mind actually. There wasn't much warmth in the demon realm but Sylth actually took the warmer temperature in this realm quite nicely and warm body temperature was always a plus. Like most of the others, she had a nice scent. Nice being disgusting since Sylth preferred dirty hands over clean ones. Well, whatever.

Taking her hand and kissing it slowly because Sylth didn't like to be touched unless he returned the favor somehow and then he dropped her hand and straightened up and gave her a polite smile.
"Not yet, but if I do feel the need to die, I'll be sure to come to you then. But victims should never be killed quickly. It's much more romantic to draw out a scene. Pain is very much associated with love." Sylthfreiyn said to her in a calmer voice and a slower talking speed.

"I can show you the manor of the man who organized our group. I doubt he will be home since he tends to do much traveling. As for our plans, it had been put at a standstill for the time being. After one of us was caught, we thought that laying low might be best-- but I believe the laying time has already passed."

"I never said I would cut your throat quickly," Christine said. "Though I don't know if I've ever found romance in killing someone. It's merely something that needs to be done sometimes. Perhaps I should slow down and enjoy it more next time. I do agree about pain and love though."

"I should like to see this manor, as well as hear about the history of the group. And who was this person who was caught--and how were the caught? It would be good to know so I don't make the same mistake."

"Well, I believe romances are very delusional and are not sweet at all. They seem to only be filled with pain and love seems to turn easily into hate." Sylthfreiyn answered. "It seems fairly tasteless to be chained down to one person."

Sylthfreiyn stopped in front of Ichirou's mansion. It seemed empty. As usual. He peered at Christine. "This is the mansion." Sylthfreiyn answered as he opened the gates. He didn't think he could let himself in. Ichirou usually was good about keeping it locked. But maybe not. "As for the one who slipped up, I never met him, but I heard the story. It seemed as though he abducted a student for personal reasons. It had nothing to do with what we were plotting. There was once a secret lab in the school, but the student that he abducted demolished it with an explosion and it was revealed. We want to make the school believe that all the trouble is over and the culprit was Javor--the one who slipped up." Sylthfreiyn explained, giving her a very rough abridged version of what happened.

"Javor is currently missing at the moment. He could be dead or he could have ran away. But I presume he may be long gone."

Christine smirked, following him into the gate. "My dearest Sylth," she said, giving him a sly smile. "Chains are never tasteless."

"Still, this Javor sounds like a shady individual. Very shady indeed. How shocking that Rosentale would have someone so shady on the staff," she said with mock horror. She frowned slightly at his description of the student. Well, that really could be anyone but she did know one student that had a tendency to blow things up when distressed.

"Do you happen to know what student it was? After all, it might be wise to stay away from someone so dangerous." She couldn't help but feel a little shiver of excitement though. Even though destroying the school hadn't been her plan really, she couldn't deny that hearing more about the situation excited her a little.

This might actually be more fun than she'd first thought...

Sylth's lips twitched to smile wider than what would be considered polite to society. "Chains are to my liking only when I am the one doing the chaining. If I was the one being chained down, it would feel constricted and suffocating."

Sylthfreiyn blinked as she asked for more details about the student. Sylthfreiyn wasn't entirely sure who she was. He might have heard her name mentioned but he didn't pay enough attention to commit it to memory.
"Well, he did scare quite a lot of people. There were many unpleasant rumors about him. As for the student, I'm afraid I didn't hear much about her. I do believe that my sister knows the full details of what happened. Suzanne is the school librarian. She will probably be able to tell you a more detailed explanation than me."

Sylthfreiyn glanced at the empty mansion. He had a feeling no one was home. He turned to Christine and held an arm for her to take if she wanted to. "I don't think Ichirou is home. We might as well return to the school. I believe school will be over and it will be evening quite soon."
