{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

As Ferven turned back to his practice, Mizu stormed up to him, and shoved him roughly in one arm.

"What's the big idea?" she snapped, trying to keep her voice low so as not to call Aqua's attention on them. "If you're gonna be using me to practice your spells on, at least freaking ask first, you jerk!"

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

The crates dipped a bit in the air as Mizu shoved him. Luckily, the way the magic worked, Ferven didn't need to be completely focused to keep things floating about. But a rough, jarring thing like that when he WAS focused didn't exactly go smoothly.

The male turned to his friend, holding up his hands in a 'Don't hurt me' gesture. Mainly while looking at the two clones that followed along with Mizu. "Hey, now, I wasn't really expecting to get ganged up on. I came here to have fun and I'm feeling very attacked right now...oh, right."

The male reached out to the clones, one at a time, and poked their noses, the physical contact causing immediate dissipation of the clones. "Muuuuuch better. And hey, at least this time it helped you. This time you actually managed to hit the target, not explode everything else, including yourself." He said this with the biggest grin he could muster.

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

Mizu looked at the two clones when Ferven mentioned getting ganged up on; she hadn't even realized they were following and mimicking her every move. But at his last statement, she hit him again.

"No, idiot, I was the one who aimed that spell and set it off! But your stupid a** surprised me before I'd built it up to a proper Thundara!"

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

"Ow. Watch it. I'm delicate~" He grinned more. "Hey, it could've been worse is all I'm saying. Aqua didn't come scold you again, after all. Consider me as your help for getting used to distractions."

If she was gonna swing again, Ferven was ready to dodge it this time. "Seriously, though, I'll try to behave a bit more. Promise...well, promise to try. You know me, after all."

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

Mizu growled in exasperation and threw her hands in the air. Then she leveled a glare at him that was equal parts thoughtful and annoyed.

"Well," she said after a moment, "if you're going to take credit for my progress anyway, we might as well partner up. Besides if I can get off any kind of spell in the middle of one of your Gravity fields, I bet we could make a pretty devastating combo."

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

Ferven raised his arms, hands going behind his head and the fingers interlocking as he looked over at the crates, casually floating in mid-air. His grin had faded as he thought, then he turned his head back to Mizu.

"So...you talking me floating you up with an enemy and taking advantage of that? Or just me disabling them by flinging them up and then you zapping them?" Hey, to Ferv, both sounded viable. But, because of that, he felt he needed to actually ask which one she meant.

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

Mizu shrugged, also looking at the floating crates.

"Either or," she said as Chip and Dale scampered up onto her shoulders.

"We have your next target set up, Mizu," Chip said.

"Thanks, but we're gonna try something different this year, guys." She looked back to Ferven. "I think first let's practice me zapping things in your Gravity field. It'll be good target practice, I can work on controlling Thundara and eventually powering up to Thundaga, and you could work on expanding your radius. Then, I figure once I'm good enough with my feet solid on the ground, you can work on sending me up and I zap things from mid-air. And if you can keep me up without all that weird bobbing around like your targets do now, all the better."

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

Ferv frowned at his 'partner'. "Hey, they're only 'bobbing' cause I'm focusing on you and talking instead of the magic. Plus, you know, I'm not in it myself." He puffed up his chest a little. "If you wanted I could have you swimming through the air with no trouble. Well, so long as you stayed in the field. And I'm super focused."

Turning to the crates, the male put a hand on his own shoulder(making CC move a bit), and used it as leverage to pop his neck, the crates stabilizing as he returned his focus to the field. "See? Just let me know what to lift up, and I'll pop it up. And even can get them bobbing for ya for moving targets later."

(( Cloe / Kingdom Academy/ Intermediate Magic Class))
The child seemed to pout under Aqua’s criticisms, but it the teacher knew better that it wasn’t something to worry about it. The child-like mage was more likely disappointed in herself then actually having her feelings hurt. In fact Cloe’s features brightened up quickly, sweet as a daisy the teacher pat her shoulder.
“Alright then Master Aqua!” she beamed and quickly went to work reconstructing her shield, growing it bigger and bigger each time. By the time Aqua had moved on to more people, Cloe’s bubble was big enough for her to stand up straight in.

~~ Shion: Land of Departure:: Intermediate Magic Class~~~
“It makes sense though doesn’t it?” Shion replied before actually turning to her Master. The young woman stood up straight and looked at the marine haired keyblader- “I wanted to try shouldering more manifestations at once, It just makes sense. If I’m leaping off a platform at the enemy, should I be able to switch to my offensive skills next?”
She clicked her tongue in frustration- putting her hand son her hips- “I just can’t seem to transition smoothly enough, they lose their shape when I try and do it quickly. May be I just don’t have enough mana?...or focus?.. Maybe their magic is too different...” she began rambling off ideas like that.
Her hand unconsciously felt for the hilt of her real rapier. “I can’t rely on my real weapons forever right? Hmmm..” she sighed and stretched her back, shook herself to loosen up. “Does the reservoir we draw upon really get bigger, as she get stronger?

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

Aqua nodded along with every point Shion made, though a slight frown creased her features a time or two when the girl said something that didn't quite hit the mark.

"Absolutely," she said in response to the squire's question. "Our magic is just like any muscle that Notu, Terra, or Ven like to train. The more you use it, the stronger it gets. That includes the energy pool you have to draw from. But, I'm sure Master Leront will get into that if you take his class. He does the theory; we do the practice.

"Now, about your spells. I think you might be taking on more than you bargained for doing both at once. For right now, at least. Remember how I said magic is like a muscle? First, start by manifesting one platform. Then, when you have that platform manifest, summon one of your blades. Don't try anything else, just those two. The acrobatics can come once you've got simultaneous manifestation down. Keep adding manifestations until you lose the spells again. Then work on making more until you get to, say, six of each."

Meanwhile, across the class, Mizu was studying Ferven's spell with a thoughtful frown. After a long moment, she nodded, and stepped forward.

"I think we're good for right now. Let's see if your spell mucks with mine before we do something complicated. Ready?"

She barely waited for a response before releasing a quick Thunder spell, which struck the Gravity field and bent just a little, nearly impossible to tell with the typical jaggedness of all lightning bolts, and struck mere inches away from the box next to the one Mizu had been aiming at. She tsked, and turned to Ferven again.

"So, Gravity can warp Thunder. Good to know."

"Or maybe your aim sucks," Dale quipped, and received a jerk of the shoulder he was perching on by way of punishment.

"Hush."

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

Ferven rubbed his chin as he watched Mizu try out her spell. It was an interesting spectacle. At least to him. He hadn't tried to use his fields to redirect spells before. Definitely wouldn't have thought on his own that it'd affect things like thunder magic. This put a whole new spin on the usefulness of his magic.

"Hrm." He couldn't help but let out that noise before his attention came back to the real world, turning to look at Mizu. "Well, this'll be interesting. Now it's just a matter of figuring out the general curve it gives a spell, and then readjusting. Both of us, you with aim, me with the power of the field."

He let out a small sigh. This seemed like more work than he had planned on it being.

[ Cael : Land of Departure : Advanced Combat Class ]

Cael mentally grinned as Artemis forced himself to stop, barely evading the javelin-toss; the spear went flying past, striking the wall and falling with a crash to the ground. So there he was, weaponless, as Artemis dashed toward him, thrusting forward with his staff-section--

So forward!

His reflexes were fast--not as fast as some of the other students, but faster than average. This attack gave him plenty of time to do what was needed--

--contorting his body to the side of his weapon arm--

--watching the thrust move beyond him--

--before grabbing his weapon wrist with a vicegrip and twisting his arm, forcing Artemis to turn away from Cael with his arm held against the small of his back.

Instinctively, Cael used his other hand to grab the spare wrist that would, inevitably, flail in defense, twisting it back alongside the other. With his greater strength, he restrained the other man in place, smiling.

"From your levitation, I'd wager you're more the magician than the fighter, right? Or at least that the melee isn't even in your top five list of interests," he said, and though Artemis was likely fuming, Cael's tone had absolutely no mockery or teasing. He was genuinely giving advice. "So if nothing else, some preservation tips. The key to victory, magic or melee, is control of the battle. As such, if you can avoid it, never be so direct physically--you give your opponent too many options, and strip yourself of them in the same action--unless, being as wily as I'd wager you are, you have backup plans."

He lightly pushed the man forward--not so much to shove him off his feet, but enough to give the two some distance. And, to be a little playful, Cael lifted his leg and "kicked" Artemis' a**, nudging him farther forward and allowing the dragoon to hop backward. Once again, he dropped into a defensive--weaponless--stance.

(( Cloe / Kingdom Academy/ Intermediate Magic Class))
Cloe continued to stretch her barrier. The surface shimmered like it was made of a ghostly prismatic material. Luminous, and bright, one could still see the girl inside it, she tried fortifying it again, before letting it get bigger. Her cheeks puffed up and turned pink under the strain of her concentration.

~~ Shion: Land of Departure:: Intermediate Magic Class~~~
Like a muscle- flex it… flex it… right. It’s like training your body- that made sense to Shion.
“Alright, alright, I’ll give it a try.” She said, more to herself then to her teacher but she met the woman’s gaze and gave her a firm nod-“thank you Master.”
First she conjured her first platform, then hoping onto it, testing it, she stood on it a while, focusing on keeping it there, whole and solid- then she focused on summoning her blade.
The phantasmal sword, resembling it’s physical counterpart took shape in midair in front of the squires face. Shion breathed in and out, in and out- before reaching out and clasping a hand around it’s hilt. The object was solid to her touch, and it kept its shape – as well as the platform.

Gym. Accursed gym. Leora and Lucius alike had hoped that they'd be done with it after their remedial lessons for it the previous summer, but apparently not. Apparently, second years were also expected to aimlessly exercise themselves in one of several ways. Sure, the sports and such were entertaining, and Lucius and Leora couldn't deny that they were fans of Blitzball. However, that was only part of gym, a very small part in their experience. Although, the lack of entertaining physical education options could possibly have been because they were rushed through the course. Apparently, there was no time for fun when the teachers had to make sure they were fit and ready for the worst, whatever the worst was supposed to be for a Prince and Princess of Heart.

However, the expectations for PoH, as the twins liked to abbreviate it, and the twins' opinion on those expectations were a whole new can of worms waiting to be opened, one that had nothing to do with Lucius and Leora in gym class. At the moment, both twins looked rather dead. Even the usual duality that Leora and Lucius often showed to make it easier to make their opinions known could hardly be seen in the twins as they ran laps with the rest of the class. Both ran like the rest of the class. This was no time to show of either a gentle or rebellious side. Although, for all their distaste for gym, the twins weren't half bad, managing to keep themselves towards the back end of the middle of the group, clearly not something to be proud of but at least they weren't horrid like Alice. Poor Alice, she was all the way with the people at the end. The twins didn't even have to turn and look back to know that. She was a decent sprinter, the twins had found out last year, but she could not hold up with extended runs like the one that their class was currently doing.

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

"Eeeeh, that sounds like math, though," Mizu groaned, crossing her arms and regarding the box she'd been aiming for with patent distaste. "Unless I get the formulae down to the point where I can run the calculations on the fly, that might not be good for battle. Although… enough practice and the mathematical formulae eventually become instinct. Hnng, but that could take years. I just dunno, Ferv. I really, really suck at math."

"Why don't you try another spell, Mizu?" Chip asked, ever the voice of reason. "Maybe it's only Thunder that the Gravity field warps."

"Or maybe your aim sucks!"

"Shut up, Dale!"

~

"Good, Shion," Aqua said, nodding as her pupil tested the solidity of her spells. "Keep going." She could hear the other students practicing their spells, with some chitchat going on as well. All to the good, in her mind; if they could communicate while spellcasting, they'd be able to do so on the battlefield as well. Very useful skill for giving and receiving orders.
