Lucas nodded slowly, and looked to Captain Marvel.
"Don't you two worry; I'll be going on patrol while you two go on your date," he said with a large grin, and he flew off to do just that. Lucas turned beet red.

"WE'RE NOT...." Alex shouted, but he was already gone. "...on a date...haven't eaten in days..." she mumbled. She glanced back at Paragon and gave him an apologetic look.

Lucas cleared his throat. "S-so, uh..." he looked to the cops, who were just about to leave. "Hey! Uh, could you point us to the nearest restaurant, please, sirs?" he asked.

"Yeah. There's one right down that street and on the right. Corner building, can't miss it." one of the men replied.

Lucas gave a nod and thankful wave to the cops, and then proceeded with Alex to the restaurant; a KFC!
SCORE! Lucas thought happily, truly brightening up for the first time that morning. He walked inside and hurriedly ordered himself a large amount of food. He had a metabolism four times faster than the average human's, and while the Super Soldier Serum allowed his body to process food that quickly, it was also conditioned to keep that energy in his body, using it when he needed it. The more of that energy he had, the longer he'd be able to go without eating; he could spend hours exerting himself at a constant rate before needing to eat again with this much food.

Blinking, this wasn't what he was here for. He needed to find out what happen to Alpha Flight. He need to see if any the members survived, or where they had gone.
Seeing how things worked out, he started to walk away.

One of the officers noticed John walking away and called out to him. "Sir, we need you to stay and come down to the station."
Alex barely gave a second thought to how much food Lucas was ordering. She had a similar problem. Eat like a Sayin for every meal, and it would give her enough energy to feed off of for when she was "working". She was fairly surprised her powers had been so high with the lack of food she'd had in the last couple days. Probably because it was mostly brought on by anger this time. She was starving.
She ordered a potatoes bucket, original recipe, and a couple slices of their Reece Cup pies.

After the food was delivered and the couple had sat down, Lucas got busy stuffing his face for a bit, all homegrown mannerisms forgotten for the moment as he took in the sweet feeling of food tastes for the first time in several days.
"So," Lucas asked Alex after tearing off a chunk of fried chicken with his teeth and devouring it, "any plans on gettin' back to New York?"

"Mnoph" Alex replied, chewing a chunk of chicken leg down to the bone. She waited to speak again until she'd eaten the entire middle off the bone. "When I came to Metropolis, I just took a cab over. Planned on taking one back but..." she said, then shifted uneasily. "...money's usually the first thing to burn up, even when I don't have fire anywhere around it. The paper tends to catch easier than my clothes do." she said, then took a nibble at the chicken left around the end of the bone. "So....walk I guess. Find another cab...bus..."

Lucas quickly stripped his chicken breast to the bone, and put the bone in the chicken box before starting on a chicken leg. He didn't speak until the leg was picked clean.
"We could go take a plane if you want," he offered, now devouring his mashed potatoes side dish. "I've got a credit card, so I'll pay."

Alex bit down into another leg, then blinked and looked up at him, the leg still in her mouth. "Hmm?"

Lucas blinked as well. "Uh... I said we can go to an airport, get in a plane, and fly to New York. Never been on a plane before myself, but oh well. I'm not afraid of heights, obviously." he reiterated, before going back to devouring his mashed potatoes.

"Is....is this place really that far from New York that we need a plane? Gotham and Metropolis are within taxi travel." Alex said. Really, planes always seemed like such a hassle to her. Spend two hours just getting onto the plane and back off.

Lucas just stared blankly. "I dunno what those cities are, but... we're in Missouri right now, I think. Manhattan is a long way away, Alex. So yeah, we'd need a plane to get there quickly," he said, finishing his mashed potatoes and starting on more chicken.
