Tethys leaned over with her Starmie lamp. "The amount of time we'll be in here, perhaps," she commented, then looked over her shoulder for Deimos. "Sir? What do you make of this?"

Faleen stopped, in the crowded group, lit from the bottom and top by pokemon. The light illuminated a few... out of place markings.
She didn't say anything, staring from the pads to the carvings."hum..."

Deimos, who was holding a handful of Tethys' sleeve and looking very uneasy, frowned at the letters. By now his sedative shot was starting to wear off and he didn't seem to be taking being locked in a storage room too well.
"Erm.." He edged a bit closer to look at the letters, then the padlock, "......it looks like a riddle...." It wasn't long before the Galactic was muttering about the complex equations that could result from the combinations of these four letters.
He was obviously thinking too hard. And speaking too quickly. He sounded very stressed.

After a few moments, looking over what clues they did have. she had a couple of options. She didn't know who would have left the carvings there, but she guessed it was something the held figure out the combination.
Walking over she tried from top to bottom, but in numbers 'Eights, one, nine, and six' as her first attempt

Wonderful. Just peachy. She couldn't help but wonder why there was a lock on the inside of the door, but she wasn't about to complain considering it was the only thing keeping them locked in there. "As if we'd last that long," she retorted with a glare at the writing on the door, then her gaze slid to the padlock. "Why are the sevens all scratched out?" That was... odd. She couldn't help but wonder what the significance of the number 7 was.
Zeus growled from the safe position on his trainer's shoulder, while Artemis whined uncertainly with her fluffy tail between her legs. Claire recalled her with a sigh, since she wasn't being helpful anymore.

Aila resisted the urge to have Pitre Hammer Arm the stupid door. The cavern was definitely messing with them. It was messing with them in the worst possible way. She was sick of caves, sick of closed spaces, sick of everything. She wanted to go back to the base and take a shower and maybe watch a movie.
Ugh, but no. They were trapped in a room in a mine in a cave in a mountain where they had haplessly crashed and ugh. Calming breaths. The design of the lock caught her attention; how many unfortunate idiots had wandered in only to be trapped when they realized they didn't know the combination? How much productivity had been wasted while they shouted for someone outside to let them out?
...That was a distressing thought, and Aila promptly abandoned it. Instead she turned her attention to inspecting the room, and the carved word caught her attention as Tethys referenced it. She narrowed her eyes at the thing.
"...Is this some kind of clue, do you think? To people that got stuck here accidentally?" She pointed to the E, "Backwards it's a 3, right? And the O could be a 0..." None of this had any relation to the number 7, though...

"What the hell?" Aulus snarled, whipping around to face the suddenly closed door. Trapped. Oh hell. Somebody had carved something into the door. "E O N S?" What the blistering eff was that supposed to mean? The amount of time they'd be trapped? Oh bleeding, buggering, blistering... Well he'd run out of internal curses for now. "Sounds a good a guess as any," he added a moment after Faleen spoke, "how much worse can things get after all?" He was probably going to wish he hadn't said that before long.

As all the Rockets voiced theories and Faleen tried the lock, Deimos had started scribbling the equation he'd been mumbling in his journal. "SSHHHHHH!! I'm trying to concentrate!!"
His attempts at concentration were broken by the loud click of the lock opening in Faleen's hands. E O N S. Eight One Nine Six.
Deimos' eyebrow twitched.
TRP looked very impressed, "..excellent work, Faleen. .....Though I'd like to know who closed that door.. or how the padlock locked itself.."
Deimos' breathing was speeding up. The sedatives were definitely wearing off, "It's gotta be pokémon, right? Has anyone seen any pokémon??"
"No."
Upon opening the door again the group would be presented with another surprise. All the supplies they needed had been piled neatly on the other side of the door. Like a prize.
"Who put that there?"

"Hu, yea, nice job," Aulus gave Faleen a nod of approval as he exited the room, but his mood was too dark for any more than that. "Not that I'm not glad to get out," he went on, " but I repeat; what the hell? Something's playing with us." He didn't trust that big prize pile at all, but what other choice did they have? They had to get out of here somehow, and the lift seemed like the only way.

Well that was... surprisingly quick. Good, she wanted to get the hell out of this damned cave, out of the stupid mine, away from the mountain and away from the Galactics. Freaking Arceus.
It was so much easier to channel her nervousness into frustration.
...wait who put the supplies there? There had to be ghost-types around that were messing with them and playing tricks on them. There had to be. The creepiness of the mine was starting to make her more nervous, maybe even -- no, no, Tethys was still creepier. She preferred the mine over Tethys. "Better get this all back to the lift, I suppose," though she didn't trust it either.

"Good job, Faleen." Nyx smiled and clapped her friend on the back. "- where did those come from? Doppler, did you see anything?" The little zubat on Nyx's shoulder squeaked pathetically. No.

Tethys gave her leader a doubtful look as they filed out. "Sir, perhaps you should breathe. I can empty the sandwich bag.."

When the lock clicked open, Faleen quickly worked the lock off of the bolt, It had worked! that was the numbers it needed. eyebrows arching she pushed the door open, looking over at the Elite when she spoke "thank you Ma'am" she said, giving a momentary sheepish smile at the others a slight blush over her face.
It had to be a pokemon, what else would it be? She paused, staring at the pile in surprise, Frowning as she stepped out and quickly looked around. "It has to be some kind of ghost type. Banette hasn't reported anything though..." Ghosts did likes mines.

Ah, that did explain the scratched off sevens... With a knowing nod, Aila moved to remove herself from the room finding her path - her mental path, at least - blocked by all of the supplies that had been removed from the supply room. She closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. "We're being played for fools," she muttered, "but I'll take it if it means we can get out of this infernal mine." Again, as if it would be so simple. Whatever it was that was toying around with them likely wasn't going to be satisfied with the results of its puzzle, especially considering Faleen had solved it so quickly.
"Arceus, just let us get out of here already..." The words were muted, the tone weary. Aila was exhausted by the unexpected detour. Hopefully they wouldn't be sent to to outpost after this...

"...I'm going to assume pokémon, because the alternatives are too terrible." TRP muttered quietly, eyes darting around, "Everyone load up as much of this junk as you can. Let's get it back to the lift. And pray there's no more surprises waiting for us there.
Thankfully there weren't. The lift was just as they'd left it. A horrible wreck.
TRP grunted as she deposited the load of supplies she'd carried on the floor and glanced back at Deimos, "Alright. Get to work."
As each minute passed and more of the sedative left his system Deimos was looking closer to another melt down like the one he was having when they found him. He did his best to get a hold of himself and released his vice-like grip of Tethys' arm. After pulling over a dusty toolbox he went to work. He was clearly making an effort not to look up at the stone ceiling.. begging to fall in on them. Or the close walls. Or the dark narrow tunnels. Regardless, his hands started shaking as he struggled to tighten bolts on the large gear feeding the new cable length he'd just installed.
TRP sighed. Despite herself, she couldn't help but feel sorry for the man. As much as she hated him he'd been helpful over the past few hours and he was obviously in distress. "Faleen. Anyone who knows their way around a wrench.. go help him."
