"I think everyone should try going for it too," E-4 agreed, reaching out to gesture towards the pendant, "If none of us can get it, then we'll just leave it, but if there's the slightest chan--"

Plop.

E-4 wasn't sure what to do other than gape at the pendant that now rested in the palm of her hand. Her mouth hung open but, before she could recover and say anything, she was interrupted by the loud, booming voice from overhead.

There had been a clear warning in that message: beware the hunters. By accepting the pendant, was she also accepting the fact that others would undoubtedly target her for the pendant? If not now, in the last few days (assuming that she was still alive)? Her heart was thumping erratically against her ribcage, but she forced herself to exhale a shaky breath and turned to the others as calmly as possible. "...So, what are we going to do next?" She asked, though her eyes were focused on the object sitting in her hand. What now?

E-12 stared at the pendant in E-4’s hand. There it was: the prize at the end of this bloody mess. It seemed so innocuous just sitting there in E-4’s palm, but E-12 knew there had to be something more to it. Something about it would, presumably, save the bearer’s life on the seventh day.

In all honesty, E-12 had to admit that her fingers had tightened around the hilt of her knife ever so slightly when E-4 was gifted the pendant.

No, she chastised herself. That’ll come later. She consciously loosened her grip on the weapon.

“Next?” she echoed E-4’s question. “I think we should get out of here. We don’t know where the blue people went and I’m not about to sit around and let them ambush us from the corn.” She glared from inside her mask at the few remaining blue team members standing among their sea of pink.

Now that the excitement of battle was over, E-12’s wounds were starting to ache. The stake stab she’d taken throbbed the most acutely, but her whole body hurt right down to the bones. She looked around and spotted E-5, the guy who had taken E-3’s bandages.

“Hey, when you get a chance, would you mind patching me up a bit?”

May as well get in with the new medic early on.

E-12's cell phone buzzed at her hip. She sighed and flipped it open, scanning the contents. It was already the second day? That ... actually wasn't so bad. They'd made it through one whole day with only one casualty. If things kept up the way they were going, odds were better than not that E-12 would make it.

E-1 managed to make it only a few steps before she, too, stumbled and fell. As it turned out, she was wrong about the horse. She suspected the pendant would disappear, or maybe explode, but there was E-4 with the tiny thing in her hands. All, E-1 could manage to do was show E-4 a thumbs-up.

"Finally." she mumbled, and flipped onto her back with the intent to do nothing useful for the next several minutes. She just ached. The slash on her arm was stinging like no one's business, too. All that adrenaline pumping through her had left her drained, and curiously numb of emotion. She heard E-12 call for a medic, however, and realized what a fantastic idea that was. She raised her own hand, hoping she'd be noticed.

"Medic? I could use some TLC, too."

A buzzing sensation at her waist reminded her of the cell phone, and she idly flipped it open to read the contents. It seemed she'd missed one. Four people, from other teams had been summoned. She wondered what for as she flipped to the newest one.

One day gone.

Wow.

E-7 watched everyone around him, E4 got the pendant, he sighed a breath of relief. At least one of them was going to make it. Watching everyone else when his phone went off he quickly retrieved it. Reading the message that was left there was a small frown. "Day two?"

Man this was going to feel like an eternity. He listened to the others around him. Some were asking for a medic, he nodded to himself. "After you get done with those worst wounded... could I get at least a small patch job?" He fidgeted asking the question he was some what unsure if he should even ask it.

Though something was starting to make him paranoid about being out here. "We should figure out where we're going next." He said suddenly realizing that the fog had lifted. You could see the pink tent like a beacon, and he thought he could kind of see a few other landmarks.

Beta Five watched the whole thing with a sort of disinterested amusement. So E-4 had gotten the pendant after all. He had to admit, the girl was fast. And this would probably not bode well for any of them, sadly.

He stretched out his back, twisting from side to side to work out the kinks, and then, with a small yawn, he made his way out of the cornfields.

E-5 wasn't sure how he felt as he saw the pendant go to E-4 it was more as if mixed emotions were running all together at the same time. One urged him to take it for himself, the other was happy to see his teammate get the pedant, and another was concerned she was now going to be marked for the rest of the five days (or so the cellphone said when he had checked it a few minutes ago). He was lost in thought until one of his teammates called out his name reminding him the bandages he still held in the pack that belonged to their former teammate.

"Alright, since there is only one of them and I can't get to everyone at once and I feel like sitting out here is a bit too open to just move freely those how need healing head back to the tent if you don't need any help feel free to follow the Blues or follow us to the ten." He replied not wanting to linger too long he wasn't sure how badly everyone was injured but he was reassured they would all need a little help. He only hoped he wasn't a complete and total idiot when it came to wrapping others up, he did a somewhat decent job on himself right? So maybe he could handle this he only hoped that he had enough for everyone.

E-13 still had his cell out when another text showed up. Day 2, huh?

When the horse disappeared, E-13 finally found his way back on his feet. He gave E-4 a friendly, non-knife hand clap on the back.

"1 down, 4 to go. I'm heading back to the tent too. Like Five said, any blues that want to come back are welcome to it, or any of you guys that want to go on over to the lighthouse to see the rest of the island can do that instead. I figure we'll have traffic through here eventually."

He didn't feel like he had to elaborate what any other colors wandering through here meant. Nothing good for them.

"Well well now..." E8 said he slowly eased his way on to his feet as the booming voice filled the air, as sign that this event was finally over, but that new ones would be hitting them soon enough no doubt. For now however, all attention was on E4, that pendant and what to do next. Though, he was sure others had thoughts of backstabbing, just running up and taking the pendant for themselves. It was only human nature of do anything for survival, but what would be the point? He was sure some would just suppress their thoughts until the final day or days came along. He however would just skip that party unless necessary.

Pocketing his dagger he stretched and then turned to wave a hand in an uncaring manner. "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm just going to follow this crowd and head back to the tent. Good luck to those of you going elsewhere, if anybody. Hopefully we will run in to each other again, on good terms at least."

Humming to himself, E8 whipped out his phone as he followed the other two, a snort being released as he read the message.

'Well that's a nice reminder...'

ε XI was relieved that her team had gotten the pendant and even more relieved that it wasn't she who carried it now. That thing was bound to be a double edged sword, even if it didn't have some secret they hadn't yet discovered. The pendant holder would become a target, not only to other teams, but possibly even to their own team.

But for now they would all work together and ε XI was more than happy to do so.

E7 watched as his other team members left to the tent, he hurried to catch up with them. "Wait up for me!" He cried as he jogged after them. Starting to watch his surroundings more carefully than what was in front of him since the phone mentioned watch out for shadows.

This wasn't good.

E-12 stood up and wiped the dust from her pants. She tucked her knife into her belt and followed the rest of her teammates back to their pink tent, fairly glowing in the lightened fog.

Oh, she did not want to move. E-1 watched as the others slowly left the scene of the battle, and reluctantly shoved herself to her feet. Probably for the best. Besides, there were cots back at Ep HQ.

E-1 forced herself to jog after her team-mates.

Upon seeing the others do the same, E-4 flipped open her cellphone, scanning the message grimly. It was still so early, meaning that there would be tons of danger to face-- other teams, creatures like that fire-breathing horse, and possibly her own teammates by the end of it--and E-4 was suddenly grateful that her team had moved ahead as a violent shiver wracked her body.

Curling her fingers tightly around her pendant, she cast the area one final look before running after the others.

They'd left her. All the Beta's were gone. When did that happen? B9 ran off and tried to find someone to be with. This place was messed up and she didn't want to be alone.

ε IX watched with interest as the pendant was bestowed at last. Would the new owner prove worthy? Since it was a team member, the choice was good enough for ε IX. She would lend her strength to this person for now, but she would be poised to strike if there was any sign of weakness. Getting up a bit stiffly in light of her bruises and scrapes from being flung around by the horse-creature, she followed after her teammates.
