Rosemary couldn't help but smile a bit and that image. She found it a little amazing that Shaddow had forgotten all of this. Guess there really is, or was, a nice side to him. Maybe it was forgotten with all of these memories, she thought.
Zach gave a slight smirk. He wasn't sure exactly how Shadow actually was, but the side he's seen wasn't exactly kind.
Desiree yawned.
(Aw, it didn't post first time. Sorry, just realized it didn't post earlier. D8 )

(No problem. ^^ Thinking about going through a few memories on this post. Just to get through them quicker, y'know? xD))
The image changed again. This time, they were in a room with a large window overlooking Earth. Maria, who looked a few years older, and Shadow, who looked no different, were gazing out it.
"What do you think it's like down there, Shadow?" She asked him, "Down on Earth."
"The professor says it's an amazing place. The people are kind, caring, although there is some awful ones too." He said.
A moment of silence. Then, Maria spoke again.
"I hope I can visit it someday."
Shadow nodded.
Another pause.
Maria looked at Shadow. "Shadow....Is something wrong?"
"....."
"Shadow?"
"....I don't know anything anymore, Maria. Sometimes I wonder what my purpose is. Why was I created? What did the professor have to gain by even having the thought of making me?"
Maria smiled slightly. "What does it matter why you were created?" She said, "You're here now, and you're with me." She hugged his arm, resting her head on his shoulder. Shadow smiled slightly, and then the memory switched.
Shadow was standing outside a door, his back to the wall. Behind the door, he could hear voices. One was Dr. Gerald's, while the other was a deeper, serious, angrier voice.
"Shadow is a serious threat. What are you planning to use him for?"
"What does it matter?" The doctor sighed. "Commander, I understand your concern, but Shadow is perfectly safe. He wouldn't hurt a fly."
"How can you be so sure? If you remember correctly-"
"I remember, Commander. He shares genes with him, yes. I was a bit edgy at first as well, but since then, he's proven that he's a gentle person and that monstrocity's opposite by being friends with Maria."
"So he has a soft side to a fifteen year old girl! What teenage boy DOESN'T?! What about the millions of people you're endangering down on Earth?! Gerald, if you do not destroy that 'Ultimate Lifeform' of yours, I will make sure to do so myself!" A click, indicating the Commander had closed the transmission. Shadow sprinted down the hallway, so as not to be detected.
The next memory was Shadow and Maria hiding in a closet, crouched down as running feet and machine guns could be heard outside.
"Shadow, I'm scared. What's going on?" Maria asked, eyes wide.
"G.U.N is attacking us." Shadow told her. He was obviously leaving out, 'And killing everyone.'
The closet door opened, and a man jumped in, gun at the ready. Shadow was quicker, though. In a flash, the man was on the ground, neck snapped, dead. "Ugly b*****d." mumbled the hedgehog mutant, grabbing Maria's hand and running out.

Rosemary's gaze hardened a little at the new memories. Somehow, she felt a little more connected to Shadow. She could finally understand him a bit more. Even if the new connection was small, it was still there. Rosemary gave him a long look, searching his face. She wasn't sure why, but it was probably for a reaction or a returning gaze. She was definately done hesitating. She would stick with Shadow, it was definate. She turned her gaze back to the crystal ball, keeping her eyes neutral. They closed halfway as she began to think. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and leaned foward a bit, thinking a bit harder.
Zach's gaze was still confused, but slighly less. He was begining to understand that this Shadow had gone through. Tough he didn't remember it well. Or...good, since some of these were bad memories.
(Won't post for Desiree. You can probably guess her reaction already. "Boo hoo. Can we do something productive now?" x3 )

Shadow and Maria ran to the room with the large window overlooking earth. It was the control room. Suddenly, the image blurred a little, before coming back to focus. Shadow spun around as more soilders ran in. "For the love of-" He began fighting, winning for the mostp art, while Maria stood watching. He took out all the men except one, who glanced around franically. Obviously, he was scared. So he instead pointed his gun at Maria, and fired. The girl was hit, and stumbled back, clutching her chest.
"NO!" Shadow grabbed the man's gun, blasting him with it. Then he threw it to the side and the image became blurry again, this time so much that it wasn't possible to see. When it returned, Maria was standing next to a control panel,using it for balance.
Shadow had obviously fought more enemies, and ran over to Maria. Suddenly, she pressed a button and a glass case covered the mutant.
"Maria, what the hell?!" Shadow tried to break the glass, with no success.
"Shadow....Promise me....." Unfortunately, it unfocused for a second, and when it came back, she'd already asked him to do something. "For....the people of that planet....For me...."
"No! No I won't leave you, Maria!"
"Sayanora....Shadow...the Hedgehog...." Maria pressed another nutton, before collapsing.
"MARIA, NO!" Shadow shouted at the top of his lungs. The pod ejected, shooting him out of the ARK.
The memory changed. Now, Shadow was laying on a long, round block of ice, unconsious. A boot kicked him.
"Wake up." said a familiar, deep mechanical voice, kicking him again, harder. Shadow groaned, rolling onto his back.
"Maria....No...."
"I was starting to think you had died. That would suck, because then I wouldn't get to kill you." ~~

Rosemary averted her eyes, looking down at her hands. It was a bit hard to watch this. Her eyes widened slightly. So...what Metal had said was true? She shot another glance at Shadow before staring back at the crystal ball. This was taking a very sharp turn.
Zach could feel a slight bit of tension. He used the time to scoot all the way back to Desiree, who was busy studying her nails. "Hey, what do you think we should do?" he asked her.
Desiree gave him a sideways glance. "What do you mean?" she asked.
Zach sighed. "You know, with them? Should we stick around or something?"
Desiree gave him a long look, her hand sticking in mid-air. "Why? Have you fallen into their sop story? So they can order us around?" she asked, a little harshly. They kept their voices down, arguing quietly.
Zach sighed. His sister was always like this. Afraid that someone would gain control over her again, like before. He gave her a sympathetic look, which Desiree shot down with a venomous glare. Zach felt a cold sweat work up. This was going to be hard.

Rouge realized she was crying. She wiped her eyes looking at Shadow. The bat was surprised to see Shadow had his eyelids shut tightly, and tears were running down his face. She put a hand on his shoulder.
Shadow's mind couldn't think straight. How could he have forgotten this? He knew the reason the image had been blurred was because of G.U.N erasing his memory, and had done so a lot on this one, so that it was too difficult to see. He listened as Metal got irritated with the memory's Shadow just sitting there, half-consious, mumbling about Maria.
"God dammit, stop moaning and get up!" Metal grabbed Shadow's shirt, pulling him to his feet. Shadow didn't look up at his double, staring at his feet. "Maria....She's gone...."
"Your girlfriend's dead. Get over it, faker. I didn't think robots had emotions."
"Faker....? Robot....? What are you talking about....?" Shadow looked at Metal. "Who are you?"
"I am Shadow. Shadow the Hedgehog." He replied.
"Heh. You're out of your mind." Shadow turned and began walking away. "I have to I don't have time for lunatics like you." Suddenly, a hunk of ice hit him in the back of the head.
Shadow held his skull, facing Metal again. "What the hell was that for?"
"What did you call me?"
"A lunatic." He repeated.
"Say that again if you value your meaningless life." Metal stepped forward, hands in fists.

Rosemary saw Shadow's reaction and felt herself snap. She turned abruptly, leaning against the table with her back to the orb. She didn't enjoy this. She closed her eyes, breathing deeply. She opened her eyes after she collected herself and said in a quiet, watery voice, "I'm sorry, Shadow." There wasn't much else to say. Or maybe there was but Rosemary couldn't think of it.
Zach cast a glance towards the others. "Well, I'm just saying. I mean, safety in numbers, right? What if the boss sends someone after us?"
Desiree gave a snort and crossed her arms, sticking her nose in the air. "Hmph. And like we can't?" she asked. "There's trouble in numbers. You grow attached to people and then get the urge to put yourself in front of them at times of danger. It's ridiculous!"
Zach sighed. His sister was begining to tear him. Them, or her.

~It doesn't matter now what happens, I will never give up the fight....~ "Hmph." Shadow opened his eyes, watching the orb.
"We saw most of your past, Shadow, maybe we should go-" began Rouge.
"No. I want to see Metal's fighting. It will be helpful for when we run into him again to know his moves." Shadow said.
"I'm not going to fight you." Shadow turned and began walking away again.
Metal crossed his arms. He looked like he was thinking. Then, he smirked. "You know who my boss is, Faker? G.U.N."
Shadow stopped.
"That's right. The people who killed your girlfriend."
"She isn't....wasn't my girlfriend." Shadow told him, staring at the ground, hands in fists. He was shaking from anger.
"Did she suffer long while she was dying? I hope so."
"SHUT UP!" Shadow yelled. In a flash of black, Metal stumbled back a bit. Shado's fist was outstretched, indicating he'd punched him.
"Heh...." Metal wiped blood from his mouth. "Not bad." He fell to the ground, spinning around once, like he was breakdancing. Shadow jumped into the air(about thirty feet, of course) to avoid being tripped. Metal leaped up after him, and the fight continued.
Shadow's fists were flying rapidly at Metal, but the cyborg just held up his arms and blocked them as they came.
"Pathetic. That's really all you ******** YOU!" He tried to knee Metal in the stomach, but had his leg grabbed, and was thrown at the ground.
Shadow shot through the ice, going under water.
Metal landed, looking through the gap in the ice platform. "Heh. He was blind with anger, just hitting at random. It was his downfall." murmured the robot, turning. He had barely taken a few steps when the water shot into the air, as if being hit by a bomb. Shadow was at the way top of this, looking more pissed then ever. "I'M NOT DONE THAT EASILY, YOU b*****d!"
"Damn." Metal sighed, "Clone-Boy is tougher then I thought."
Shadow took out a diamond-shaped green gem.
Metal's eyes widened. "That's a-THAT'S A CHAOS EMERALD!"
"CHAOS, CONTROL!" Time slowed, leaving only Shadow able t omove at normal speed. He landed and ran at Metal, kicking him in the nuts and roundhouse kicking him onto his back. Time returned.
"Ughhh...."
"Who's groaning now, jackass?" Shadow hissed.
(O_O I think Shadow's getting into his potty-mouth phase now XD And yeah, now I'm totally just stealing from the Sonic games ^^) ~....Long as the voice inside drives me to run and fight, it doesn't matter who is wrong and who is right~

Rosemary felt sick. She had turned back to the orb, watching the battle that happened within it. She felt terrible for saying any bad things to Shadow. He had gone through a lot of devestation in his life and now she felt like a burden. It made sense to her on why he acted like an a** to everyone. Because of all of this. Bitter tears of frustration stung at her eyes but she refused to let them out. Though that caused her to feel like she would burst out sobbing at anytime. She hugged herself, rubbing her arms comfortingly. Well, this visit had become cheery, hadn't it?
Zach was still debating on whether to listen to his sister or listen to what his mind told him. He shuffled a bit nervously. Desiree's colorful eyes were creating a stinging feeling in his mind and he shot irritated glances at her. Desiree continued to stare at him, her magenta eyes blazing. He sighed. He wasn't bringing this up. He sister was the stupid one, not him. Her unwillingness to trust people bugged him and he had about enough of it. He faced Desiree, which made her blink in surprise. "Stop being a baby. You always think I'm the weaker one with my emotions. Sorry sis, but I honestly think it's you. I know that sometimes people betray others but keeping yourself locked up like that is just plain stupid. You learn the best when you're open. Get out of your nutshell. It's time for you to grow up." They were the most serious words that had ever come out of his mouth. He turned and went to stand behind Rosemary, crossing his arms and looking at the orb aimlessly. Desiree stood there, shocked. If it had been possible her jaw would have been on the floor.

~~ In the memory, Shadow grabbed Metal's arm, and threw him into the air, jumping up after him. The mutant smashed his robotic counterpart in the skull, sending it flying down, smashing through the ice. Shadow landed, and watched the new hole for a few moments, making sure Metal didnt' come back up. He didn't. The hedgehog turned to leave, but suddenly collapsed on the floor, motionless. There was a black and green dart in his back.
Shadow and Rouge watched as a helicopter sounded from the orb. Men in black military-like uniforms jumped out of one as it landed, running over to both Metal and Shadow.
"What....why can't...I move?" Shadow's eyes glanced around, the only part of his body he could use. He recognized the uniforms: G.U.N. This instantly, and naturally, pissed him off. The mutant growled.
One of the soilders knelt down and grasped Shadow's shoulders, pulling him so he was sitting up.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" snarled Shadow, clearly trying to break out of this immobilized state.
"Shoot him again."
A trooper raised a tranquilizer gun, aimed at Shadow. A dart fired into his chest. Only instead of making Shadow go unconsious, it made him sort of....sleepy...
The leader of this squadron bent down and held a strange device that looked like the object doctor's used to flash light in your eyes. It lit up. Shadow's eyes became unfocused as his memories of the ARK, Maria, and all of that flashed before them, being sucked out. Then the veiw went black, because this memory had also been removed.
Selena(I don't remember her name, so let's say it was Selena XD) stood. "And that is Shadow's past." She said simply.
Rouge looked at Shadow, a concerned look on her face. The mutant had his eyes closed, his head bowed.
(Very cheery indeed! XD) ~~

Rosemary felt herself flinch. So that was why he didn't remember most of his past. She saw his reaction and felt even more terrible. The threatening tears overcame her will and silently spilled over the corners of her eyes. "Shadow?" she asked, her voice thick. She hoped that he wouldn't snap at her for caring. Even if he did she'd keep that feeling towards him. She gave a watery-eyed glance at Rouge and Selena before settling her gaze back at Shadow. She tugged on a strand of her chestnut colored hair, a habit she developed as a child when she was upset. What would they do now? Would Shadow want revenge? Whatever he decided Rosemary felt she'd agree to it. Though she'd have her say, of course.

~~ Shadow stood, not answering Rosemary. "Let's go." He said quietly, walking towards the cave entrance.
Rouge blinked. "Wha--? Go where?"
"Either you're coming or you aren't. Simple as that." He left.
Rouge turned to Salome. "Thank you, Salome."
Salome nodded. "Any time." She said softly. "I suggest you follow, before G.U.N finds us."
(Does Shadow have the tracking device on? sweatdrop ) ~~

((Yup. Never got it off. Sucks for him...or everyone for that matter. : P))
Rosemary held back a sigh. She blinked as Shadow began to leave suddenly and almost asked the same question as Rouge. Instead of asking it again she silently hurried after Shadow.
Zach started to follow the others when Desiree grabbed his arm. "Wait," she murmured. Zach stopped and looked at his sister. "What?" he asked, his nonchalant attitude returning. Desiree sighed. "I'm sorry. I suppose you're right. But you know I can't help it." Zach had never seen Desiree like this. Never. It was only for a moment and her usual self returned. "Well? Are you going to hurry up and follow them or what?" she snapped, walking after the rest of the party. Zach grinned, turned and waved bye to Salome before hurrying after his sister and the others.
