Prajna watched in half-amusement, half-confusion as Varun whipped around and began to roar at the Star. It was nice to see his attention rightly focused back onto itself, but then Prajna noticed a sign of pain in Varun's expression. Had the Star hurt its friend? Just as it was about to extend a hand out to the Leviathan, the other redhead had other plans.

"Do NOT. Now, go!" Varun roared.

Prajna frowned at the sudden outburst and watched as Varun sneaked away onto the battlefield, holding the gun closely to his chest. Now what? Prajna watched as Varun, and others, glanced about and acted like "neenjahs", just like on the television. Pop! pop! That's when Prajna noticed it. Turning left, looking right, spinning around completely in a circle, the Star dodged pellet after colorful pellet, suddenly taking it all in. It was a war?! A war was taking place?! AND PRAJNA HAD SHOT VARUN!!

Prajna turned, looking for its friend, suddenly wanting to clear up the misunderstanding and hopefully become allies when then it's sharp eyes caught sight of two very interesting figures...Rivener and a familiar old face. Who was that man? Oh, Prajna remembered..he was the one yelling at Xiu about the kisses they had once in the morning. ...Prajna smirked as it crouched low and floated closer to the two. Now who to pay back first? Rivener had tried to eat Prajna so many times, it only seemed fair. Prajna sneaked up behind the Scorpion and steadied its breathing, though its hands were still shaking. It took aim at the Sigel's head.

Prajna pulled the trigger and prayed.

A wicked smirk crept onto the Star's androgynous features as it heard the paintball make contact against the Scorpion's head. Oh..This was much better than shooting Varun. Prajna felt a tingling grow up its arms. So this..THIS is what it was like to be war veteran!! Quickly, the Star though, knowing better and having learned from so many movies, sneaked away before the Scorpion could see who its attacker had been.

Shot 2/6, 1 hit, 1 miss ))

After firing off his first shot, Ronan had intended to duck back under the sand dune. Unfortunately, this was not done fast enough, and before he was able hide a pink pellet slammed onto the top of his head, another whistling past his ear shortly after. His body gave a jerky spasm at the explosion of pain, the bad luck continued by the accidental firing of another shot - this emerald sphere wizzed off into the sky, no where near another target.

After the spots disappeared from in front of his eyes, Ronan reached up to feel his head, stiffening when he felt a wet spot. He relaxed when his fingers were brought down though, seeing that the contents on them was a garish shade of pink instead of the red he had feared. A grimace was given when he saw the spent cartridge - from now on he was going to keep his finger off the trigger until he was ready to shoot.

Wanting to get away from any possible pot shots, Ronan dashed away from his current position, eventually sliding down into the sand somewhere in between the positions of Ebony and Ethan. Taking note of both of them, he decided that it might be a good idea to get into contact with them, perhaps later in the game.

))

Back flat against the rock she was hiding behind, Ebony arched herself in a way so as to look back without becoming an immediate target. She turned to see just how mad the scorpion was, but he wasn’t anywhere to be found. Even though in the back of her mind she remembered the Raevans abilities, she still was allowing her mind to box them with the humans. It shouldn’t have been as big a surprise as it had been when doom loomed above.

At the shout, the Brit’s head tilted up confused before her silver eyes opened wide, her jaw popping open with utter, speechless surprise. The shot hit her square in the right shoulder and sent her down hard. “Bloody bollocks!” she unintentionally yelled as she rubbed at the pain, only succeeding in making more of a mess of the splatter. Hopefully, no one had heard that and hopefully, if someone had, they had no idea what it meant or that she’d said it.

Quickly she regrouped and looked out again. She would have tried aiming for Rivener again if the damn Sigel hadn’t flown off and out of range for her. Oh, but she would try again when he was distracted. For now, Ebony would be content on capping one of his teammates instead. Creeping along to a new hiding spot, the lavender haired female scanned the opposing side.

In her fuming, Ebony took aim at a vaguely familiar red Raevan with scales and long hair, yet totally forgot about her shoulder wound. The minute the gun kicked back, it sent a throbbing pain through her whole arm and sent her pellet whirling way off course from the seasonal leviathan. Rubbing at her shoulder again, Ebony ducked down behind her sand dune and muttered about her stupidity of wasting shots. After all, the game was still afoot and she only had four left now.

[[Paintball!!! (Rivener)]]

[Shot 03/06 | H:2 | M:1]
[Shot at PRAJNA: miss]

Rivener had only just slammed to the sand dune to take cover when something stung him hard in the back of the head, leaving a very wet-feeling splat. "OW, HELL!" The Sigel swore loudly, one hand raising up to cover his skull while the rest of him buried into the sand like a crab, trying to hide from more hits. He brought his fingers back out to see: yep, green paint. Someone had shot him. Gritting his teeth, Rivener looked around for the guilty party.

Gah, it was impossible to tell! No one was looking at him victoriously at the moment, so Riv couldn't tell who'd been the one to bean him. He knew it wasn't Ebony, because she was way over there... Ah well, whatever. Riv would just try to shoot everyone then, and in so doing he'd get back at the one who'd got him.

And as a matter of fact, there was one of the Papaya-team members now! A shock of bright red hair was sneaking around a pale gold sand dune, and even without seeing the rest of the half-formed body, Rivener knew he was looking at Prajna's head. He could practically taste the little bugger just by looking at him-... her-... it. Grinning, Riv slunk forward and pressed his back to the nearest bench he found, peering around the edge at Prajna...

Quick as lightning Rivener leaned over the side and, like he'd done with Ethan, he shouldered the paintgun and aimed reflexively, squeezing the trigger.

The bullet went wide, and with a quiet, whispered cuss word Riv hid back around the bench, holding his rifle close. ...He'd just have to try again, that's all. Just wait for Prajna to be busy shooting someone else, and Riv would take another shot.

[Shot at ETHAN: HIT!! ]

The battle was on as he started hearing shots being fired. Peeking out from the sand dune, he took a quick survey of all the targets and the direction of the shots flying through the air. Just for a quick few seconds though before he duck his head back behind the dune. From past experience he knew his horns were giant targets and could give away his hiding spot easily, so he needed to be extra cautious this time. Folding his wings neatly behind him, he rolled onto his stomach and took aim at Ethan, who was standing in plain view for all to see. Besides, a little part of him had always want to dirty the businessman's expensive clothing without being lectured. This is the closest he could get.

Probably because he took his time to aim carefully, which is why he was delighted when his shot hit! Watching the bring color splattered over Ethan's shoulder. Quickly he rolled back behind the sand dune before anyone could see where he is. This is a good hiding spot, until people realize where he is at least. He will camp out here as long as he could.

Stroking his goatee between the thumb and forefinger of his right hand, Ronan surveyed the field, checking for any targets. Eventually his eyes alighted on Rivener - unable to see the paint splatter on the back of the sigel's hair, he decided to go ahead and take the shot.

The trigger was pulled, and unfortunately the bullet went far above the raevan's head. Giving a sigh of frustration, Ronan pinched the bridge of his nose, wondering how he could improve his aim for future shots.

Distracted by these thoughts he failed to notice that the paint pellet, instead of burring itself in a sand dune, continued flying on towards the main area of people. Before long....

SPLAT!

An otherwise cheery green color was dripping down from where it had hit the shirt on a certain man with a white tuft of hair....

[Shot at XIU: HIT!! ]

Almost as soon as he had signed his name on the board, Zeke retrieved the sheet and announced the beginning of the game. Instant gratification! Eiry grinned despite himself, already feeling the bubbling feeling rise up from his stomach to tickle his ribs. The flare in his wings spluttered to a bright mint green and he tucked them close to his back so that the blood red tips hugged close to the small of his back. Gripping his fingers tight, biting on his bottom lip, Eiry was tense as the green-haired lab assistant read out the teams. He dearly hoped that he would be on a team with at least one raevan he knew, and that, in itself, was a poor chance considering that Eiry was as friendless as a lonely hermit.

Then the names were read.

"Grand, grand!" Eiry hooted, pumping his fist into the air when he heard that he was on Team Mango underneath the name of Lazarus. Not only that, but he was in a team with his brother! Rivener, his at last for the day! As well as on a team with Lazarus! Eiry was sorely hoping that he wouldn't end up on the team with Zul...He harbored enough ill feelings towards the raevan and he needed not to be subjected as his underling. So when his name was tacked underneath Lazarus', Eiry's face lit up (as much as his pale face could) Eiry knew not the other members of the team, save Ripley, and even that was a short and brief introduction, hardly enough time for Eiry to feel at home to quibble playfully with the fellow. Regardless, he thought it best to interact with him as well as the other members of the team.

Sweeping up the gear as the other raevans moved ahead of him, Eiry consoled and counseled himself in the ways of remaining solid. He had played this game the last time Lab 305 had an event at the beach and he had spent most of the time intangible. An unfair cheat, he knew, but he would hate to be disqualified from the game. Not only that, but it was sacrificing one prank for another. How often did he get the chance to shoot paintball guns? ....At other people? Giving an inherently dangerous smile of mischief, Eiry settled his gear upon his person and picked up the paintball gun. After familiarizing himself with the handle of the weapon and its function, Eiry floated after his brother, his grin wide and hopeful.

"Brother, my brother, we will use the brawn of our bound blood to boast and beat the bandit brigade!" he shouted happily, but as soon as he finished the sentence, a green paintball whizzed past his line of sight, missing by a couple inches. Instinctively, he snapped into intangibility, and looked around with wide red eyes for the attacker. Ethan! Ethan, of all people, would shoot him? Before the man could dodge for cover, however, Rivener was already on him, aiming and firing a paintball straight into Ethan's back. The action of defense spurred Eiry's heart and he gleefully grinned and rattled off a long string of proud thank yous and boasts about the tie of their blood.

When he had done with his gargantuan list of gratitude, Eiry snuggled into a spot on the dunes beside his brother, a few yards away, but close enough for yammering, and set his eyes on the enemy. In just a few moments, a large wave of paint balls seemed to come right after another for Rivener, and Eiry couldn't help but laugh as he garnered all the enemy fire.

"Brother, you and the light share similar qualities! Attract nothing but pests and bugs!" he cackled, and then, with that said, he turned again to the match, his red eyes narrowing.

Aiming for Ethan, the man that had betrayed him so early in the game, Eiry squeezed the trigger, but it was to his dismay that, at the same moment, the man skittered away, leaving a single white Sigel alone to catch Eiry's shot. A piff of pale red exploded over the Sigel's forehead and Eiry released a burst of poorly restrained laughter at the precise mark of the shot. Little did he know that he had just shot Xiu, a good friend that he had just recently made!

"Oh, fellow Xiu, my good friend! Oh, I am blind!" he blurted, and, still laughing poorly in the middle of an apology, he shouted over to his friend. "My apologies, good fellow! A game blinds all friendships, but my apologies none the less!"

Ekundayo --> Popsicle booth --> Beachside
Fathle --> Petting Zoo

Thankfully, whatever issues his accountant had managed to sniff out through exemplary record keeping was quickly resolved. Fathle was glad that it did not have to come down to officially reviewing his financial records to find a thief. That could have taken weeks. Instead, it had been an honest mistake by one of his bartenders. When Ekundayo realized that they were going to drive back to the beach, her mood immediately picked up again and Fathle found himself smiling; he had physically felt her disappointment when they had left prematurely.

Faye! Something is happening.
The Raeven quickly floated over familiar sand dunes and paused at the highest point on the yellow beach. Something exciting was happening. Ekundayo could feel it as if a hundred birds were beating their wings, the air compressing and expanding all around her. She didn’t have to squint with her golden eyes against the sun this time. A few clouds were beginning to block out its powerful rays and there was a lush glow surrounding the area as late afternoon began to approach. Ekundayo closed her eyes and breathed in deeply. It was a positive, wild energy that she loved. She turned to look up at Fathle when he stood next to her.
What are they doing?
“It seems they are… playing paintball.”
Paintball?” she asked, looking back at the figures running back and forth.
“Yes. Do you see the guns in their hands? They are filled with little balls of paint and you try to shoot as many people as possible.”
Oh, it must be one of the games,” Ekundayo said, her wings stretching out to their full wingspan in her excitement.
“Though, I do believe this one is already well on its way. I don’t believe you can join,” Fathle said gently. He watched as a small frown appeared on her lips but she smiled again when the Raeven looked up at him.
That’s okay. Paintball sounds weird.”

Ekundayo immediately went over to the popsicle booth. There had to be a game that she could join in. Alex had said there were games. Plural.
“Ah, here you are, my dear.”
She turned and saw her guardian holding a small clipboard.
Game?” she asked.
Fathle nodded. “Yes. It is the last one being offered today. Would you like to participate?”
What is it?” she asked, clinging to his arm as she tried to read the print on the paper.
“It’s a sand castle building contest. And… it seems anyone may sign up. Including me,” Fathle said with a smile.
Faye should do it with me! Then you can help me.
He laughed and nodded, happy that Ekundayo seemed to have forgotten her past disappointments of leaving and missing the first two games. Fathle took a pen and wrote their names with great flourish.
“There you are, my dear. I will endeavor to help you build a glorious sand castle.”

With that taken care of, Ekundayo immediately turned to watch the current playful mayhem before her. In the chaos, she noticed a flash of purple hair.
It’s Ms. Shade,” she said with some surprise as she pointed with a slender finger. Fathle turned his eyes and arched his eyebrows with amusement.
“And so it is.”
Ekundayo began to float closer to the action, her attention now on watching Cordelia’s guardian.
I’m going to watch and cheer for Ms. Shade,” she said as she glanced back at Fathle. He nodded.
“Just stay where I may see you.”

Fathle watched his ward quickly make her way toward all the commotion. He could hear her call out Ebony’s name and see her wave her arms in enthusiastic support. He smiled to himself before he slowly made his way across the sinking sands. His red eyes looked toward the petting zoo. It wasn’t very busy now. Perhaps he would be able to speak to Alex and gain an audience with her in private on a later date… this would be the perfect time anyhow. As Fathle drew closer, he saw that she was animatedly talking a man whose attention was absorbed by the curious creatures under Alex’s care. He looked familiar. When the stranger turned his head, Fathle caught his side profile and a single memory rose up in his mind. That was the man he would greet in the morning sometimes as he walked toward his favorite delicatessen. He would always see him standing in front of a clinic of sorts waiting for the newspaper. Fathle smiled to himself. How odd they would meet here.

He approached the two and entered into their conversation during a small pause. Fathle’s eyes first went toward Alex.
“Ms. Alex, ah, I mean… Alex,” he said with a small smile and a bow. “Forgive me for my archaic ways. I do not believe we were able to properly greet each other. Ekundayo was adamant on keeping you to herself.”
Fathle straightened up and turned toward the man with bicolored hair.
“And sir, would you forgive my intrusion? I wish to speak with your lovely companion in private for a brief moment. And then I will promptly remove my burdensome presence.”
He smiled politely at the man, his red eyes roving over his face to catch any signs of recognition.

PAINTBALL - Papaya!

Shot number: 1

Person shot at: No one

Xiu smiled and nodded at Lucia’s statement. Lucia had been one of the first raevans Xiu had met when he was still a newborn. Xiu chuckled in wonder. It was close to two years ago, that graveyard incident. Most humans would consider two years a short span of time but to raevans…

So much has happened. Perhaps time moved differently for them. Briefly Xiu wondered what he’d be like in ten years time before turning towards the popsicle stand. They had announced the names for the next round. Nodding once more to Zul and Lucia, Xiu took his leave, turning and waving at the kitten frei at the mention of shooting her guardian’s brother. He had no idea how Yuurei’s brother looked like but that only made the guessing much more interesting.

When Xiu arrived at the stand, the game had already begun. Perhaps going that far away from the main group hadn’t been that good of an idea after all. Picking up the offered gun, Xiu tested its weight and accidentally pressed the trigger, sending a coloured paintball splattering on the sand.

“Bugger…,” muttered Xiu silently having wasted a bullet.

Her mouth dropped open as her lips curved into a shocked smile. ”Well, I mean, you’re kinda okay to be around,” she teased back, her head tilting away from him a little as she stared at him, almost daring the demon to claim he didn’t care she was no longer able to spend as much time with him.

Lucia’s eyes almost sparkled in the sunlight. She relaxed against Zul and let him hold her. She was missed too then, Zul said in his own way. The calls for paintball interrupted her thoughts. As Xiu was called away, she realized that Ty’s name was also called. She yelled to Xiu: ”You’re playing against my guardian’s brother. He’s awesome, but you can aim at him a lot if you want.” She smiled, but it was more directed to Zul.

”I did see Pasha! She was paired up with someone else for the seashell thing. But she’s doing better I think; well, a bit. She’s singing somewhere like at nights. I told her I’d go see her.” Her eyes glanced around quickly, but she couldn’t readily spot her friend.

”But what have you been doing? When can you come see me?” she smiled and giggled slightly. She hadn't spent much time with Zul when the sun was out, but it was nice to see him with the yellow light illuminating his features.

---------------

”Opps! Looks like you need to go to play paintball!” Yuurei told her half-brother. ”Kick some a**.” She grinned, watching Ty walk over to the paintball booth, grab a gun with a pink tip, and jog over to the paintball field.

Yuurei, meanwhile, spotted a woman she wanted to thank. Waving to Hazeline, Yuu left her stuff on the blanket she set out and walked over to the petting zoo. Alex, it seemed, had done a lot for Lucia.

But when she got there, someone was already talking to the Italian. She didn’t want to interrupt Alex and whomever she was talking to, so she looked around a bit. A lot of people she didn't know. So she went to someone else she had spotted. ”Aphi!” The blonde waved at him in greeting. ”I don’t think I’ve seen you since before Christmas. How are you?”

--------------

Ty didn’t know anyone but that Ebony on the other team, but she was the only girl playing. He'd save aiming at her for last. With only six shots in his gun, Ty planned on trying to shoot at everyone.

He hid behind a large obstruction on the Mango side of the field. Eyeing one guy who just shot at his teammate, Ty aimed his gun expertly towards Ronan. Pulling the trigger, the blonde watched the pink ball fly towards him and SPLAT. Ducking down behind the obstruction he grinned. One down, five more shots to go.

[[Petting Zoo; Tag to Fathle and Alex]]

He chuckled at her comment. "My parents were quite... out there. All of my siblings have unique names like I do." He flashed Alex a charming smile upon hearing her request. "Of course... Alex." It had taken all of his restraint to shove the 'Miss' back in there. A stickler for formalities, it bothered him when addressing individuals so casually so soon. "And, such an environment must be a beneficial one compared a sterile laboratory one and strictly professional relations."

Even behind the dark lenses of his sunglasses, Jezabroux caught Alex suddenly looking upwards. He followed her gaze hoping to find something even more stunning than the chimeras and Raevans. No such luck, if anything, the clouds had simply rolled it. Which, for the bicolored man was a great relief. It was still too bright to take off his shades, however his eyes were under considerable less stress. "My interest was certainly piqued. And, it's a good thing that I sent back the survey completely filled out yesterday." He smiled faintly recalling his irritation at the length of the survey.

"Ravens? Like the birds?" He asked, subtly tilting his head to ponder the naming. He looked over in the direction of the said drink booth and stared. Even with his sunglasses, it was clear as day that Jezabroux was staring at the doctor. Horns? Aside from these Ravens, he had never encountered an individual with horns but after seeing a cat-octopus hybrid and various Ravens, it hardly seemed shocking. Almost as if he had already anticipated for the creator of the project to be not normal. "Pardon me for asking this Mi- Alex, but just how intelligent are these Ravens? How do they come to existence and just how perceptive of their environment are they? Are they closer to an average teenager or a young child?"

Jezabroux paused and looked up when a sudden shadow was cast over him. He looked up to figure out just what exactly was blocking out the sun. When he caught sight of that dark red hair, something clicked in his brain. Hair that color was hard to forget and there was the matter of Fathle's height as well, Jezabroux's brain was reeling trying to remember where he had seen the man. Then it came like a bullet. Bennet and Son's. The exotic food store across the street. On more than one occasion, Jezabroux had waved to man from across the street while grabbing his daily newspaper. "You! Bennet and-" His greeting was cut off when something small collided against his side, sending the man into a wild jerking motion. A cool sensation spread across his side as the paint oozed down the side of his shirt. He was bleeding green. A small frown tugged at his lips. "Hm... Do you think this comes off?"

(( Oceanside // Petting Zoo ))

The demon lifted his dark brows with amusement, his free hand running through his hair. "I try," he replied easily, finding it comfortable falling back into the well-known routine of banter with the Kitten. If Zul saw the dare, he didn't give voice to it, instead - wisely - smiling and giving a slight shake of his head. Sure, he missed her! Especially after Rivener's little display. It reminded him that he and the black-clad femme hadn't butted heads once in their time together. Maybe desperate times called for desperate measures or something, but there was nothing unpleasant about the smiling feline's presence.

The words directed at Xiu piqued his interest, but he didn't press; not many Guardians seemed to have siblings, or at least, not ones they were willing to acknowledge. He'd had so much fun with his woman's brother, he hoped it was the same for the other Raevans who got to experience an extended family. Of course, Zul didn't count Isikoro - he belonged to Eiry and was 'adopted' or something. "His name is Varun," he offered up, though the topic immediately died as the conversation moved on, the demon's interest narrowed to a point, eyes opening a touch wider at the revelation. "She sings?" he repeated, deeply impressed and even more interested. Being a lover of music as he was, this only added marks in the Muse's tally of good points, whether she liked it or not. "That would be nice..."

Trying not to dwell on the dulcet sounds that must have come from such a delicate and sweet being, Zul laughed and shook his head to clear it. "Whenever you want. I'll always make time for Lucia." He gave her as winning of a charming smile as he could; tutoring could have hours changed and Neil would understand if he needed a day off. It was just what he needed!

---

The Italian waved her hand in a politely dismissive manner. "Don't fret on it; you're not the first and, much to my dismay, will not be the last." Alex offered up the full shine of her smile, rolling her bare shoulders in a lazy shrug. "If it slips from time to time, don't worry. I wont melt. I don't think so, anyway." She made a mental note not to mention that she was also a doctor to the kindly Jezabroux; if he started with that stuffy title, she might start growling. "We have our moments of professionalism," she commented, idly rubbing the side of her jaw, "couldn't tell you when the last time was, but it happens!"

Chuckling, Alex spelled out the word for the befuddled gentleman. "R - a - e - v - a - n. Not really sure where Kyou got it, but it's...it fits. I can't really think of anything else that would work." The next question posed made her regard him a touch more sharply, making sure he wasn't discounting her warning. "Depends on each one. I can tell you more humans over thirty that act under thirteen, to each their own." Looking around at the gathered playing paintball, she thought the game might have spoken for itself - the understanding of teams, team work, winning, losing, aiming a gun...ah, well. "The Frei's - the younger of the Raevans - vary from childish behavior to approximately teenage years. The Sigels, which have the stomachs, ah..." She thought of Rivener and Lazarus and frowned; she didn't really know any of the Sigels. "I guess they're more heavily into teenager and I imagine young adult. One is working full time, so, they're more responsible than most humans."

There was suddenly a sour taste in her mouth, wrestling down her inherit mistrust of her fellow human beings and the white-haired doctor not that far away that had made her question herself. "Most Guardians treat the Raevans as their children, if that's any indication." Alex didn't count herself amongst those, but that was hardly important at that time. Her thought process was cut short by the figure that very nearly blotted out the sun, forcing her eyes towards him. Red hair and eyes grabbed her attention, making her stomach fall out from beneath her; de ja vu all over again. "Mr. Lekabel," she replied tartly, arching a dark brow at both of the men. Really, what part of her made people think she was even remotely a "miss"? Having female bits didn't make someone a lady!

"I don't mind," she replied amicably, barely catching sight of the feathered hair further down. "She's special, after all." Alex did her best not to roll her eyes at the red-head's words just as much as she had to swallow down the threat of a blush. She didn't believe one word off his silver tongue, but it was still nice to hear. Before she could reply, Jezabroux was looking down at a green splotch in dismay, prompting her to chuckle a little. "Yeah, comes out easy. Here." Alex marched over to her stuff at the booth and grabbed a water bottle, returning and handing it over to the new comer. "That'll get most of it off, and some soap will do the rest. If you'll excuse me just a moment?"

Turning her curious green eyes back to Fathle, she lifted her hands in a lead on manner before abruptly crossing her arms. She had apparently forgotten her state of undress, and it was enough to bring a faint red to her cheeks, averting her gaze to the sky again. This was so not the time to be self-conscious!

However, he could hear a twang in the air and it was drawing incredibly close. He saw the small, misshapen pellet of paint fly toward the bicolored hair man’s white polo. Fathle could have reached out and stopped it. His senses had broken the path of the paintball to its basic elemental aerodynamics so that he knew it would hit the stranger before anyone else did. He restrained himself and watched Alex help the man by bringing him a bottle of water. He waited until she turned her green eyes onto him; for a moment, he didn’t see her as she was but within an uncivilized forest and a cave…

“Excuse me,” he said a bit apologetically to the other man before leading Alex a small distance away from the petting zoo. Fathle glanced over at Ekundayo, making sure that she would not share the stranger’s fate.
“There is something I wish to speak with you, Alex,” he said quietly. “I would share my thoughts with you right now but I believe it would be inappropriate. It is nothing so serious as to worry about the subject matter but it is one of some importance to me. Thus, without sounding too forward, may I meet with you privately at a later date at your convenience?”
Fathle paused here to watch her face. He thought he could see the faintest trace of a blush.
“I am sorry, Alex, if I have made you uncomfortable with my request. Please feel free to decline and I… will not broach the subject again,” he said with a small bow of his head.

[ Ethan. Paint ball game.

Shot 2/6 | H: 0 | M: 2
Aiming at Rivener. Missed.
]

Revenge had entered the battle field and Rivener’s loud voice was its harbinger. Ethasn winced and tried to turn too late as there was the whistling of a bullet down a barrel and then a splat and smarting pain as the scorpion fired into his back. Yelping the businessman stumbled forward and went to claw at the pained area but realising this would simply be a waste of time he re-gathered himself and focused his attention back on the sigel. If that’s how the boy wanted to play... However, slightly shaky from the surprise of how much the close range bullet had hurt his arms trembled and his hold on the gun wasn’t steady enough to get a good shot. Plus the damn raevan was moving around quickly – darting first across the sand and next taking to the sky where he shot at Ethan’s teammate; the purple haired Ebony.

Muttering a curse he tried to follow the red and black haired youth with the muzzle of his gun but as the raevan dipped below the edge of the dune a shot came whizzing out of nowhere and hit him on the shoulder. Reacting instantly, Ethan’s fingers clenched in pain and squeezed the trigger. His precious shot flew out at top speed and slammed into a palm tree, a few metres away from the dune that Rivener (and presumably this mysterious new sniper) were hiding. “Damn it.” He muttered. He had been hit twice now and both of his shots had missed. It seemed as though he needed a new tactic if he were to succeed. He was, after all, standing stationary in the centre of the battlefield with a wide stance. Even if the opponents didn’t aim at him, misguided bullets of his teammates could easily go astray and hit him...

Setting off at a jog he moved towards the nearest peach splattered person. Perhaps if he met up with another person on his team he could stand a better chance at marking his opponents. As he trekked across the sand he frowned... He didn’t know any of his teammates names – besides Ebony – and as he sidled up besides Ronan he could only shout – “Hello, I'm Ethan, we’re on the same team.” The other guy had been marked around the same amount as Ethan and the older man figured that together they might be able to work better.

Who’re you aiming for?” Maybe if they doubled up their shots they could be met with more success, failing that - the least Ethan could do was cover him whilst he aimed.

PAINTBALL - Papaya!

Shot number: 2
Hit: 1
Missed: 1
Person shot at: Eiry - HIT!!

SPLAT!

Xiu blinked, stunned as red paint began to dribble down his face. Someone had shot him! And judging by the slightly eerie laugher and peculiar words, it was Eiry! Shakily his head in a slightly reprimanding manner at the green Sigel, Xiu wiped the dripping paint off (smearing his forehead a little in the process), grinned and took aim. It was as Eiry said, ‘A game blinds all friendship’ and what better target to aim at at the moment than the laughing figure of Eiry? He had let his guard down and surely…he would not take heart to what was about to happen. Xiu was merely returning the favour, really…

Holding the gun steady, Xiu took careful aim and…

SPLORT!

The turquoise paintball hit Eiry squarely in the chest and before the other could retaliate, Xiu quickly dove for the nearest sand dune, his heart racing with excitement. So this was paintball? No wonder people spent money playing it! It was terribly fun and…blue eyes quickly scanned the area for an expose target.
