Danica smiled. "I'm going to say here."

"I'll go back then," Peony said quietly. "I'll tell Neti you got sick and had to go back." She left Christrose asleep on the couch and left to find Neti at the theatre quickly.

Danella nodded at the Officer. "But she's in some meeting thing tonight. Least that's what I was told." She told the officer.

"I'm so glad you're ok Christrose." Danica said hugging her friend tightly.

"OMG Peony!" Neti said, jaw dropping. "Like, where were you? I was like, so confused!

"Actually, tell me later. The movie's starting!"

Neti dragged Peony into the theater and gawked at the male movie stars the whole time. By the end of the film she had about enough energy to just drag herself back to her house, show Peony where her room was and fall asleep. She had completely not noticed that "Danella" was not there and was blissfully ignorant of any suspicious behavior.

((Um...officer then goes and gets a donut and leaves everyone alone then? >.>))

In the morning, Lewis woke up with a ringing headache. He went to his office in with an stiffness in his gait. There was so much to do and it seemed that there was too little time.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 23, 2010 12:18 am

Tiffany awoke with an ache in her back and she silently thanked herself for not drinking much at last night's party. She dragged herself to Reon's Cafe and took the morning orders dully.
---------------

Peony woke up and, not knowing what the course of events at a sleepover was supposed to be, pretended to go back to sleep.
-----------------

Steven let out a wide yawn and looked around him. "Couch. Huh. Where am I?" A few more minutes told him he was in at home, sleeping on the couch.

He got up in a daze and staggered to his feet. With a ridiculous smile on his face he walked towards the door only to crash into the wall--and not even the wall with the door in it.

"Hi Sophie! You have muffins for me?" he asked the photograph of Tiffany and him hanging out, thinking it was the receptionist

"I need a muffin!" Steven said and walked into the wall again. He did this again twice more before putting a hand to his head and saying stupidly, "My head hurts!"

It took him another half hour to come to senses and another half hour after that to change into an acceptable attire. By that time he was a few hours late for work and sure Lewis was going to be furious. Abashed and irritated at his own shortcoming, Steven slunk into his office and began diligent work on his tasks.
---------------------

Christrose stayed curled up on Mariah's sofa, glad for a soft pillow and warm blankets for the first time in nearly two weeks.
--------------------

Steven wandered over to the cells via the secret passage, intent on ranting at Christrose but was shocked to find the cell empty and the girl's belongings gone. He checked to make sure no other cells were opened and then quietly went to Lewis's office.

"I've finished processing the four new orders we received yesterday, and confirmed them. They all seem to be simple requests...

"Oh, did I tell you DB Corps stock has risen nearly $55 since last week?" he continued with the good news and finally revealed. "Ah, one bad thing: Um...yesterday during my um...stupor...I apparently let one of the prisoners escape. Just one though. Christrose Landernorm? It appears I left the cell door open and unlocked and she snuck out. Um...she shouldn't cause too much trouble right? No need to report it?"

Danica woke up in the morning and yawned.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 25, 2010 12:58 am

Lewis, who had been poring over a page on his laptop, slowly raised his eyes to look at the vice president. After a pause, he sighed loudly and took off his reading glasses to clean them.
"Steven, Steven, Steven... This just isn't a good week for you, is it? You understand the consequences for this, don't you? We'll need to recover Christrose Landernorm as soon as possible. I'll have you take up the responsibility for that by leaving the task of recovering her to you, since she is related to one of your acquaintances. I won't give you a time limit. But if Peony is unseated from her place, and her mother comes to complain, you will be the one to take the blame for it. Understand that? This week has just been full of far too many risks from you. I hired you because I thought you were capable, Steven, not because I wanted to tend to your personal issues. If that is all, you may leave now. Thank you for delivering the news."

Finished with his decree, Lewis turned his gaze back to his laptop screen, fitting his glasses on with one hand. He'd have to assign better security measures on the company building. A strict policy on the imprisonment of Doubles hadn't been formed yet, which was just their luck, but it would be best for them if Christrose was found and caught as soon as possible. What if the news that a replaced Original was running on the loose reached the papers? Sure, there were already quite a few out there- the leader of Mark, the agent of Silent Dagger, for example- but none had made any major attempts to win their places back. The gathering of those runaway Originals was really starting to bother him.

He kept a careful eye on the Doubles Conference website, which was still not loading correctly. He supposed that it would only load on the day of the conference. But as his concern grew, he was starting to consider making a phone call to the company that hosted the website domain. And since MARK was hosting this... was there a chance that Jam would know? Hesitantly, Lewis drew his cellphone from his pocket and began to dial.
-------------------

Posters plastered against the wall proclaimed "MARK" in bold letters, Man Against Real Krioboly. Newspaper clippings of Phyllis Lane's debuts and triumphs littered the floor, as well as the lone article of Jam Lane's infamous and largely successful debut. There was a photo frame depicting an old family photo, too, resting innocently on the bedside table.
Phyllis woke up in the morning feeling groggy. Blearily she glanced over at her laptop still lit on the desk across the dormitory, running a download. Casting about for her warm, fleecy blanket, she pulled it over her head and went back to sleep.

-------------------

Jam answered the phone call with a chipper air that should have been impossible at six o'clock in the morning. "Hey, Lewis! What's up?" She paused as she listened to Lewis's question. "No, sorry, I don't know anything about it. MARK? Sounds like trouble. I wonder who could have put it in your mailbox. Did you check the cameras? Oh. Right, you had them switched off. Well, I guess you don't have a choice except to wait for the meeting. It's just a discussion, Lewis, there's nothing you have to worry about. Just an attempt for MARK to get some publicity. You don't even have to go. I'm not, at least.

Well, I might, but I don't even own a computer. I'll have to visit one of the public internet cafes to access one. Haha, sorry for telling you things you already know. Yes, yes, goodbye."

She clicked the phone off and slipped it back into her pocket, her smile melting into a worried frown. Jam knew that Lewis believed that she wasn't involved, but she didn't know for how long. She didn't know why she was helping Phyllis out; even though if Phyllis got her way, Jam would probably have to leave or get eliminated somehow. Was she okay with that? She didn't even know her. She was supposed to be her-- well, different, but still her.

Deep in thought, Jam resumed sweeping the kitchen floor of the cafe where she worked.

(I just realized that this has been the second time that Lewis thinks about upgrading security measures at DB Corps, yet it's pointless because people break in anyway. LOL
I hope I can make a stronger villain.

Heeheehee, I was listening to the Dark Knight soundtrack Harvey Two-Face as I was writing this smile )

Mariah was up at her usual 0600 and out the door for some practice with Atesia after a quick shower and breakfast. School starts the day after tomorrow, she thought, feeding Atesia an apple. I wonder what school with Neti will be like. At least I'll be left alone on the most part. No problems, right? Great.

Now what about Christrose?

---

"HEY! I said I wanted orange juice! That means you serve it to me in the ORANGE CUP! Like, DUH?" Neti screamed when the maid came in with breakfast for the two girls. "Sorry Peony. We'll go down for a proper breakfast after dressing."

Neti spent an hour getting ready. She finally turned to Peony and asked excitedly, "Ooh! So, like what do you want to do today?"

((LoL! Steven, you are messing up a lot. Better not mess anything else up, tsk tsk.))

((Lolx no kidding. Nice I like batman. biggrin ))

Danica went out to where Mariah was practicing. "Hey." She said leaning on a wall.

Danella woke up the next morning and desided she wanted to go shopping. SHw went shoping for a little then she set off on a walk. Towards the outskirts of town.

"Morning, Danica!" Mariah called, turning Atesia around and trotting up to Danica. "How'd you sleep?

"I was thinking about Christrose's predicament: where does she go now? As of right now...she doesn't have a home, or a place anywhere. I don't even know if they'd let her go to school...."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 26, 2010 2:00 pm

"Um," Peony started. "Actually, I was going to go help my mom at the cafe...what about that?"
--------------------------------

Christrose awoke in an unfamiliar environment and only after a moment did she realise where she was. She folded the blankets and set the pillow on top and the the breakfast that had been left on the table before joining Danica and Mariah outside.
---------------------------------

"Yes sir," Steven said and backed from the room. Find a weird nerd girl. Right. Shouldn't be too hard. Right. Because I seem to attract weird nerds in my life. Kevin, then Lewis, then this Christrose person. I've about had my share of weird nerd people. And its not my "personal issues". It's Kevin's fault. All his fault.

He turned around and poked his head back into Lewis's office, about to scream "WERID NERD!" at his boss but instead he just cleared his throat awkwardly and asked, "Um, sir? Where do you think I should start? Because...I don't think Christrose seems the type to want to unseat Peony."

((Lyra says that Steven's just having a bad week. I agree with Lewis; what's with this immature dolt and his "personal issues"?

@Silver--XP LOL.))

Having been interrupted in his train of thought, Lewis snapped up his chin angrily. "Steven, what makes you think that I would know where your stepdaughter-to-be's Original is?" Sighing, he rubbed his forehead. "You have a point. If there's no risk, there's no use wasting resources on tracking down a runaway Original. We'll not make any note about the escape and leave her be."

Nodding to himself, Lewis selected the event log reporting Christroses's escape on his laptop and deleted it.

"Now that that issue is over with, I believe you should be getting on with the rest of your duties- preferably checking up on the labs' progress first, all right? I've had enough of dealing with all the scientific jargon for the week, and I thought that you'd be perfect for the job. All these video game demos that we were asked to advertise seem more to my taste."

((Lolx I agree))

Danica sighed and sat on the ground. The hard dirt making imprints on her jeans. In the distance she could see the sky as clear as fresh water. The little line of trees looked like merely ants from this far. In the distance farther she could see a mountain top just peaked with snow. Deep in thought of Christrose, the Doubles, and of the distant place her boss told her about she nearly jumped when she heard Christrose approach. Turning to Mariah she shrugged her shoulders and sighed. "I don't know."
