He felt like he was talking to someone who could be a little sister, or something like that, though Shinji wouldn't know anything about that seeing as he had no siblings. "Well, I guess age is all relative. You're only as old as you feel though, that's what my Pops always says. I'm sixteen myself, a bit older then you, and fairly late in becoming a Genin, though it is becasue I was on a journey to several years prior to returning to the village to take the test."
"I grew up in the area though and much of my childhood was spent in the village, though my parents and I lived just outside the village for our entire lives." as he spoke, he could tell she was sizing him up by how her eyes shot around, but he made no mention of it or showed any embarrassment before her next question came. "A specialist?... Hmmm, well, I don't know about that. Doton is currently the only element I can use, but I wouldn't say I was a specialist in using it... no more so then anyone else who can utilize earth jutsu. I have other things that make me different. So what about you? what's YOUR specialty?' Shinji asked this last part with a bit of playful emphasis as he pointed to Tar in the process to redirect the talking back to her.

So unlike her sister. The sister who died in battle. The sister her parents always compared her to. The sister that was and always will be better than her. Although it was true that she was extremely strong and fast she still thought nothing of it because she didn't think it meant anything. Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | GeninShinji could easily see that the young girl was working against herself, downing her own achievements as they felt small to her. However, Shinji was quick to respond in the only way he had known how. His entire life, he had never had the option of doubting himself or feeling like a failure. He had fought his way through ad pushed forward, and he would help Tar see that she was capable of anything.
"Well that won't do at all now will it Tar? What's with all this negatitvity I see? If you only know one jutsu, then learn more. If someone tells you that you can't do something, do it and shove it in their face. C'mon, cheer up, how about I teach you a few jutsu? It's a ninja's job to keep on growing stronger and stronger and you'll never get anywhere if you just sit around and stare at the ground! What do you say? I doubt my teaching will help you learn the jutsu any faster, but at the very least, you'll be closer to your goals. right?" Shinji smiled confidently towards Tar, trying to make her feel more empowered in her position.

Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | Genin"Damn right you are!" Shinji said as he made a fist and pulled it down slightly in front of his body to show his determination... "Alright, now, let's see... there's no need to teach you something you've already learned, so why don't you let me know what jutsu you already know, and maybe even, if you know what jutsu you want to learn, you can tell me that too, I know most of the Academy level Doton jutsu and a good amount of the Genin ones too. I'm sure I can teach you something out of all of those."
Shinji got himself all fired up and had a calm grin on his face a he waited for tar to respond so he could begin teaching her. He'd probably be able to teach her one or two jutsu, but it wouldn't be anything like when Kano-sensei was teaching him.

Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | Genin"She must mean the earth clone... though I guess mud works just as well." shinji watched as she seemed to go through a series of hand seals, possibly to show him the technique, but when nothing came, he assumed it was simply to remind her of the seals. "Well, those are certainly the seals for the Earth Clone technique, so I guess we'll stay away from that. How about this one..."
Taking a step back, to put about 10 feet between them, Shinji formed a few hand seals slowly, repeating them several times to make sure she got them, and then formed them quickly in front of him after gathering his chakra. Closing his hands in a single seal, Shinji announced the jutsu, "Doton: Doroku Gaeshi", and placed his hands to the ground, digging his hands in fingers in as he suddenly lifted up, pulling a 10x10 ft wall of earth out of the ground, which was about 6 inches thick. The wall itself would just about shield any projectile attack the flew at it as one might imagine a wall of earth would and would be a good distraction/deterrent to taijutsu techniques as well.
Stepping out to the side, Shinji leaned on the wall and then began to explain the jutsu. "It's called the Earth Shield... I know, inventive right? Basically, you form the seals and push your chakra into the ground, which softens the earth around the affected area and allows you to pull up the wall. At our level it's about 10 ft tall and wide, but I've heard that higher level shinobi can make even larger and thicker walls. Why don't you give it a shot!"

Description: In the jutsu, the user lifts up a giant piece of earth and uses it as a shield. For every rank, the shield grows 5 feet by 5 feet, and thickens by 3 inches.

--------------------------------------------------------- Tarra watched his display and looked at his shield. It was surely tall and wide, but the thickness wasn't the greatest. She imagined hers would be even thinner. She flashed through the hand seals never thinking twice about the names or even having to remember what they looked like. she forced chakra to her hands and pushed her hands to the ground. IN front of her a tall and wide form rose out of the mud and formed into a wall. The structure at first lopsided and different thicknesses was erected into a straight strong structure in front her. It was about nine-and-a-half feet tall with the same width. The thickness though was about the same as Shinji. A feeling of accomplishment filled her, and she walked around the wall to look at her training partner. "How was that?" It was more or less the same as his, except maybe for a tiny bit of height, perhaps due to some doubt on her part when performing the technique. Giving her a smile, Shinji laced his hand on her shoulder to assure her she did well. "You see? It's all in your head. Have confidence in yourself and you can do anything. How bout we do something a little harder now?"
Without waiting for a response, Shinji removed his hand and walked a bit away before stopping about 20 feet away from his earth shield. "We'll use our shields as target practice for this one, we'll need some rock chunks though." Removing his sword from his back with a loud clank, Shinji moved the blade to his left hand, the arm which he had not yet augmented. with a quick spin of the large blade in his hand, Shinji pushed his bloodline's chakra into the blade, the blade immediately accepting it as a white, violently chakra engulfed Forza's edge as Shinji pointed the blade downward and thrust it into the rock face he was standing on. Instantly the rock was shattered, sending a small explosion of rock chunks and cratering the area he was standing in about 1 foot down and about 3 feet around him in a circle.
Placing the sword back int the clamp on his back as if the technique were nothing, Shinji felt the pain of his bloodline flare up into his arm as dark black burn marks traced his arm from top to bottom. the marks would trace his arm almost as one would their own circulatory system, but very little if any of it would be seen considering the sleeves he wore. Too excited by the moment to be dragged down, Shinji ignored the agonizing pain of his arm as he gathered his chakra to him once more and began to form a few hands seals... "Doton: Tamaishi Danmaku" Pointing both of his hands to the ground, multiple large rocks, about the size of apples floated up to his hands and levitated there, about 10 in total along with some other, smaller rocks as he he thrust his hands forward and fired the rocks at the wall. The majority of the rocks struck the wall cleanly, each large rock shattering a section of the wall effortlessly as it hit, toppling the wall altogether after the entire barrage had hit, leaving a crumble earth shield in front of Tar as Shinji smiled happily from 30 feet away. several of the larger fragments had even pierced through the wall and come out the other side.
"It's called 'Pebble Barrage'... a good technique for distracting an opponent and leaving them with some nasty bumps and bruises. Why don't you come over and give it a try?... oh and don't feel too bad if it's not the same as my jutsu. I guess I'm what you might call an offensive specialist... that jutsu was probably on a Chuunin's level." Shinji then made a motion with his hand for Tar to join him, where there would be more then enough pebbles for her to lift on the ground near the cratered earth he had made.

Description: Another basic technique. The user releases a surge of chakra that is capable of lifting small stones and pebbles off the ground and sending them flying towards the enemy. Only small stones up to the size of a grape can be sent flying, and objects too small such as sand will not be carried by the chakra. The force of this attack is not really damaging. It’s only something like having many pebbles thrown at you. It’s more of a distraction and annoyance than to actually damage. Yet, it’s pretty useful to distract an enemy while one makes an escape.

--------------------------------------------------------- Tarra Fioxx's eyes danced around around him as he preformed the new jutsus. Such elegance, Such Power. She put her hands at her hip and her eyes traced the crack in the ground with her eyes as she tried to count the lose fragments left by his sword. His hand rose and flipped back and forth trying to gesture for her to come and use the rocks he created. "I can do it myself you know, Have more faith in me. GOSH!" After that statement, Tar turns her body around and skips across the ground to a spot that was a fair distance from her wall. For a slight second, she stood still, but then she moved her left leg around her right side of her body up to above her head in a crescent circle. Her foot then dove down to the ground causing the heel of her sandal dug into the rough earth. At first all that could be heard was a crack, which sounded like a bone breaking, but then suddenly the earth waved out around her in circle-formed fissures that reached about a diameter of about four feet around her. "How's that for a girl," She said and put one hand onto her hip and the other one a fist with one finger sticking out. Her eyes closed into a wink and she stuck her tongue out.
Determination now in her eyes, She focused chakra to her palms. She replayed the hand seals her hand done in her mind, and after several seconds of Tar just stand there with a blank expression across her face, Tar dashes her hand through the various shapes he had taught her. Fox's legs bend and her but rest by her ankles. Her hands placed on the ground release chakra into the earth. Several small pebbles roughly the size of a jolly rancher, rise into the air about five inches, then fall the ground in less that a few seconds. Tarra extends her leg, leaving her at full height now, and covers her face with her arms to shield her face from Shinji. Her cheeks were bright pink out of embarrassment that she was so cocky then her technique failed. It was humiliating. But she dropped her arms and used her left arm to give a quick flick of her wrist to say hi.

She formed the hand seals again with immense amounts of chakra in her palms. She closed her eyes and placed her hands on the ground. Waves of her chakra pulsed through the ground and several small pebbles rose. She pulled her arms back and thrusted them forward. The rocks flew forward for about five feet, but then dropped to the ground. "Better but I still need to get it stronger and further," Tar said to herself and smiled. She was always pushing herself to do better, but never believing in herself. It was funny how they went together.

In a final attempt, Tarra shut her eyes and place her hands in front of her porcelain smooth face. She forms the seals faster than humanly possible and push with all her might for her chakra to go to her hands. She pushes her chakra into the ground and several rocks roughly around the size of a grape fly at the stone wall and hit the smooth surface leaving about 9 craters in the rock. "It didn't go through the rock but I think I mastered it!" Tarra said and skips at full speed towards her training partner!

He had assumed that she would gawk at his ability or something like then and then run over and try to perform the jutsu herself. He didn't at all expect her to be able to do anything similar to himself. "Man, didn't expect that kind of punch in that small of a package. There you go again Shinji, underestimating people based on looks. that'll get you killed." Shinji watched in amusement as he saw the young girl play with him, but grinned even wider when she flipped him the bird. "The girl had some sass, that's for sure. Looks like she'll be fun to have around."
Shinji watched in amusement as she immediately became embarrassed on her first failure, reminding him of how he often felt the same way when just learning something. Soon however, she was able to get the hang of the jutsu and fired off the technique perfectly. Pleased with her progress, Shinji walked up to her with a smile as he clap his hands a few times in congratulations before reaching her. "Very well done there Tar. Don't worry though, that jutsu isn't suppose to go through the wall like mine does, it's only meant as a distraction to the enemy, or perhaps to catch them off guard with a rock to the eye or something. You performed it perfectly! I think that's about all I can teach you on my own though. You're welcome to borrow the scrolls I took out of the library though. I was just doing some training myself for the upcoming Chuunin exams. Do you plan on going to them?"

She said and put one hand on her hip and the old rested behind her neck. Her lips rose to a smile that stretched from one ear to the next. He then approached closer to her and offered to share a scroll with her. "Sure!" She muttered, masking her excitement. "I mean, I guess..." She said her eyes tracking the circle she caused in the ground. At the mention of the Chunnin exams she did a sound like a 'huh' then remembered the notice that was sent out a couple weeks ago. "Of course not, I'm barely a genin and I haven't even been placed in a squad. Furthermore, I don't have enough time or experience! Anyways I need to go do some missions! I'll talk to you later." Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | GeninShinji considered going back to training for a few minutes, but as he thought about it, both of his arms flared up in pain, reminding him of everything he had done in the fields recently. He could continue training, but he knew that it would only exhaust him further and cause him unnecessary pain in the process. "Well, I have to run missions to qualify for the exams anyways, so why don't I just go check the boards and see what needs doing. I can always learn the last few jutsu tomorrow anyways."
Resolving to quit training for the day, Shinji put all of the scrolls away in the case as he quickly scurried off to his house, dropping off the scrolls temporarily before rushing over th the Tsuchikage's office to look at the mission boards.

Iwagakure/JouninAkira was glad he still remembered how to get around Iwagakure, the place hadn't changed that much in his absence. Arriving at the training grounds, he scanned the area for any people who might need assistance in training.
This was his new role within the village, to teach and inform young ninja about their abilities, their responsibilities and how to live all aspects of life in spite of being a ninja. He knew as well, these young ones had their own experiences to share, and he was excited to learn from them as well.
