Nich smiled, it was one of those times when people asked him something he knew about. His friednd sused to joke about all the stuff he knew. On eof his friends had even suggested a drinking game based on when he had random facts to teach people. She was really sick the next day.

He began to walk again as he explained.

"It comes from cro-magnon logic and mating. Basically back in every person's brain is a little peice of instinct, with some its bigger than others, but males have to have a rank for thei society. Its strange but some also feel the need to establish it, thats why problems are always solved beyond a doubt. Kicking someone's a** after outsmarting them is just the ultimate way of saying i win because im higher on the chain than you. In the future, the losers instinct will ick in every time there is a dispute and he will cow down. its notlike chicks dont have it too. You may not have experiencedit, but we're territorial maters, thus if another girl moves in on a girls man instinct will kick in. Didnt you ever wonder why cheating is so heinous? Like i mean love can be seperate from sex, but to a girl it may not be, and instinct keeps that thought in their head. I mean sex isnt even really essentialin a relationship, as long as its based on love... so why is it such a big deal? Because instinct has tailored our values."

He took a few more steps and looked out over the cliff they had climbed to the top of.

The sun was slowly sinking and the sky turning a slight colour. The school they both attended was off in the distanceand you couls easily see the woods they had traversed and the feild they had crossed and small hills like the one they were on across the horizon.

Nich snapped a picture and sighed.

Emily sighed. Nich really did have a long and well-thought-about explaination for everything, didn't he? It took her a moment to process all this, and there really wasn't anything to add. Of course, he was right. It was the same typical answer she got, just more technical and well-said.

When they finally reached their destination, her jaw dropped. It was really gorgeous, like really. Another post-card perfect image.

"Wow..." she breathed.

This would be a perfect moment for a kiss, but she only needed to work up the courage for it. Hesitantly, she walked up to him and kissed him, her body growing tense but prepared. She really liked him, and she thought that the moment couldn't have been cheesier.

Nich was surprised at first as his last attempt at touching her hadnt worked too well. He soon relaxed and kissed her back and brushed her hair softly behind hr ear.

He wrapped his other hand around her waist and pulled her close. His heart was warmed by this feeling and after the kiss was done his face wore and equally warm smile.

"Your aware that was intensely corny and archetypal right?"

He laughed a little but didnt let her go, he was too busy looking into her eyes and marveling in her beuaty and his feelings to bother.

"I suppose most girls are saps to movie moments like that anyways right. I guess i should be glad i was a part of it."

His voice was soft and grew quieter as he moved closer and kissed her again.

Nich curved his shoulders to hold that much more of her against him and squeezed her tight. There were so many warm feelings going through his body that his mind didnt have time to compensate he was unspeakably happy.

He stroked the back of her hair and nestled her head against his shoulder happy that she was finally able to not flinch enough that he could keep contact.

"Everything is great Emily, just know that moments like this are when you shouldnt have a worry in the world, and that may seem to sound easier than it is to do, but its not just dont worry and enjoy it."

Looking with his limited range of vision down a few inches past his nose at her slow breathing form he was contented that emily may actually be comfortable at this moment, or he moreso just really hoped so.

Nich could feel the rigidity in her movements and he sighed. He squeezed her one last time. He reached behind him and unknitted her fingers. Holding her hands he stepped back and smiled at her.

"Im glad things are getting easier for you emily, but you dont have to do stuff like that if you dont want to."

He let her hands fall walked to the edged of the cliff and hung his feet off the edge. Staring out at the school he had to go back to he really appreciated his life at that moment, and he knew he appreciated being himself. For as much as he didnt like living his life right now it seemed all worth it.

His mind drifted off to days he may spend in the future with this girl as he leaned back on his hands.

Releena laughed when she heard that he enjoyed naping in the school freezer. "Well I really like to sit out in the rain and just dance around sometimes," she said. "It is so cleansing and I just enjoy how it seems to wipe away every sad thought out of my head," she said smiling up at him. "But hey, I think, if you wanted to of course, that we should hang out some more? We can keep each other company so that you don't end up freezing to death in the freezer," she said smiling.

Emily laughed lightly at his 'joke' and scooted over, allowing him permission. He didn't seem like the kind of guy to ask a girl for permission to put his arm around her, but she was glad he did, or she might've been rather upset.

"Oh, it was really great news! Jack informed me that Josh Todd, the lead singer of Buckcherry, will be performing with us! And everything changed, like instead of just a little gig in a small club, we'll be actually performing at a convention place where alot of bigshot singers and bands have performed. I'm really excited but really, really nervous..."

Her smile faded a little to show her nervousness, but she was still smiling. How could she be so nervous when everything was going so right? She was finally able to find a great guy she could relax with and get really close to, and she was going to meet Josh Todd! Josh friggin' Todd!

Today was the best day of her life.
