Des didn't reply to Cheeva's sarcasm. Navigating in this form was difficult enough without having to worry about projecting his voice. Instead he followed after her trying to keep between her and Abdiel. He couldn't take damage in this form but he couldn't attack either. All he could really do was attempt to protect her as much as possible.

Angela felt a bit bad. Everyone was suddenly producing wings and flying around on them but if she attempted to draw out that much power...well, her back was finally healing. She didn't really want to mess it up again. It made her feel a bit left out though. Even Toshi had wings now.
She sighed and rolled her eyes at Aetra's little pet name for her. "I think Basti needs a bit of help with those...things. So I'm off. Have fun," she told him sarcastically and then blew him a kiss before she bolted off toward where Basti was fighting.
She saw Asaiyo running toward the group shouting at Ky. About bloody time, she thought, wondering where he'd been. She ran headlong into the demon creatures and started flinging lightning, flinging fists and feet, trying to take out as many as she could before whatever it was Aku did to her wore off.
She was grabbed from behind almost immediately but rammed her elbow back into her captor and spun around, grabbing its face and releasing a bolt of electricity at point blank range. It's head exploded messily and she grimaced, thinking, "I'm really going to need a shower after this."

"I think she likes me!" Atra snickered to Corvin, "Dude you really ought to grow a personality."
"How much longer?" Asaiyo asked Ky, while sword fighting like mad. At least he was good at swordsmanship, even if his powers were minimal.
"Almost ready..." Ky tried not to break her concentation.

Corvin glared at Aetra. "Personalities are irrelevant. My only purpose is to serve the balance."
He was feeling a bit nervous. He had no doubt he was in over his head and in this realm he was far weaker than normal. He wasn't sure if he should retreat or fight but he needed to retrieve their pawns more than anything, that was certain.
For now, he would stand and fight. And hope the others sent something to back him up.

The cat bristled as it ran, darting green-eyed glares up at the floating fire ball. It wanted, desperately, to give the fire ball a piece of its mind...but a cat's vocal cords are not developed enough to deal with a mouthful of self-righteous snark.
The cat stopped, briefly, and hissed at the fire ball, batting at it with one mis-matched paw. The air filled with yowls as the cat sprinted away again, paw now gently smoking.

Angela finished off two more of the demons and looked over at Aetra, who was doing...well...nothing. Very annoying of him. She had expected him to do more Annoying Power Squashing in her absence. Damn, apathetic immortal.

Corvin stood for several minutes just watching Aetra and when it became clear he wasn't going to reveal anything useful, Corvin decided to finish him off and then collect his pawns.
That was kind of the plan anyway. He lowered his head and began to gather his magic, the red energy swirling around and making the air crackle with energy. And then he released it at Aetra in a very loud, very bright and very showy blast of red swirls and light.

Des wondered if transforming into a cat lowered Cheeva's intelligence somewhat. What kind of idiot tries to touch a fire ball?

Atra looked up at the light, absorbing some of it to make himself a path over to Corvin. He stood about a foot away, and launched his right hand up and into the immortal's chest cavity.
"The grey eleven just doesn't have the same ring does it?"
Abdiel saw his partner was essentially beaten, and decided to book it before anything else went wrong. He vanished through the membrane's hole and into the mass of monsters still pouring through.

Angela saw that Corvin was defeated in one blow and quickly flitted back to Aetra's side as the other immortal essentially dissolved into gray sparks. She actually pitied him a little.
"Show off," she said, looking at Aetra. "Looks like the other one buggered off though."
She realized she still had monster guts on her hands and wiped them on her jeans. "Ew."

Seeing Atra finish off Corvin in one go, his eyes widened in fascination before he suddenly grinned and laughed. "I wouldn't expect any less from you!" he called to the immortal, loving this. "Nicely done, by the way!"

The cat stopped at watched Abdiel vanish. Pawing at its forehead, the cat stumbled forward, Cheeva's human shape tumbling out and standing up.
A slobering face filled her vision. Rolling her eye, Cheeva shoved a hand down its throat, spark lancing around her arm. She wove them around the demon's skeleton and ripped it out. Lazily, she swung her new bone-puppet around, ramming it into the next ugly face she saw.
"Too bad that wasn't you," she remarked to the fire ball beside her. "Then again, at least you could call that beast somewhat handsome. If you squinted a little....and tuned your head on the side."
Cheeva sent another splutter of sparks at the groaning demon. "Oh, look Des, now I have two toys!" she gave another huffing, hoarse laugh that the now-skeletal demons silently mimicked. She gave the fire ball a long, sly smile. Sparks, purple this time, danced around her fingers as she reached out to grab him. "Come here, why don't you make yourself useful for once?"

Now that he didn't have to follow a hyper cat around, Des could finally focus on projecting his voice rather that zipping around trying to keep her safe.
"I'm already useful," he told her, moving away slightly so as not to burn her when she reached toward him. Clearly she just didn't get the concept that fire is hot.
Three of the demons came close enough to him and he flared out with his flames, reducing them to smoldering lumps of demon remains in a few moments.
He watched her play with her skeleton puppets gleefully. "You were the sort of little girl who pulled the heads off all your dolls, weren't you?" he asked.

Atra smiled at the group, deviously. "Thank you Akutenshi. Such a waste, that guy was rather boring. Having fun kitty? My aren't you cute with your demon... bones.." Atra looked over at Chee, wondering how the hell a bunch of weirdos like them could convince the grey morons they were good for balance.... even if they'd all be duped.
Ky managed to close the membrane in the sky, and force the demons off and back into their realm, leaving only hundreds already inside Kall to finish off.
Asaiyo stabbed a snake monster in annoyance, it was nice for venting.

"Wow. This really is an interesting group after all."
Angela started when she heard a voice from right behind her. She spun around to see someone she immediately recognized as fae. He didn't even make an effort to hide it--the wings, the horns, the pattern of spots, not to mention the pointed ears and claws.
He met her eyes and gave her a bright smile. "Hello little half-blood," he told her with a grin. "I can see why they chose you. I had my doubts at first but you're quite a little ball of fun aren't you? I bet you have those twelve grey dullards nearly pulling out their hair in frustration. Not to mention how frustrated they must be by all your little friends."
As he spoke, one of those monsters slunk up beside him and was about to take a bite of his leg when he reached down calmly and stuck his hand inside, pulling out a dull greenish bit of light, which he promptly shoved in his mouth and began to chew. The monster shook, crumpled and then exploded.
Angela's eye twitched slightly. "Another weirdo has arrived," she commented.

Cheeva swept the bone puppets away, barrelling them into a small knot of demons to her left.
"No, you aren't," she snorted, side stepping closer to Des, the purple sparks forming a mesh-like glove over her hand. She snagged him out of the air and grinned as the sparks formed a neat little cage and rope around the fire ball. "But now you will be. And I never had any dolls. I had monsters." Cheeva spun the contraption out towards the demons, like a yo-yo. "See how fast you can go now? Much better and much more efficient." Des snapped back towardsher and, with a flck of her wrist, she sent him whizzing out again into the face of another demon.
"Fun?" she laughed at whoever had spoken. "You could say that."

Des decided not to tell Cheeva that he let her catch him in her little purple magic thing and actually had to focus really hard for the magic not to automatically nullify by being in such close proximity to him in his natural form.
He really felt that it would just ruin her fun since she seemed so delighted by the idea of having captured him against his will. He was laughing inwardly though. Mortals were so easily amused.
Nevertheless...this was kind of fun. It was like watching a kitten with a ball of yarn.

"Apparently..." Asaiyo agreed.
"You're really hot when you're killing things you know kitty?... you remind me of... well... me..." Atra grinned, watching her smack Des around with pleasure.
"Who the hell are you?" Ky demanded from Javor.
