Celestial Archer freeriver Thankyou Celestial. I'll be sure to post a lot before then. smile No problem anytime biggrin biggrin Ok thanks I though of another question How do I check how many posts I have on the guild so I make sure I have more than 30 posts before sorting? And where is the best place to start posting before I'm sorted?

I have noticed a lot of students making banners to get points. I think we should make a rule as to how many you can get points for each term. What do you think?

<-- Though I'm sure my opinion doesn't hold great sway, I agree. In the last week an entire semesters worth of point-gaining for slytherin and hufflepuff has become all but pointless (pardon the pun) because of an excessively vast increase in banners production. I'm sure that makes everyone who worked really hard to do their homework and slowly earn points for their group feel REALLY great about the time and effort they spent over the passed months. This is especially true when the time and effort needed to make a banner isn't always that high... Not to make any judgement on quality, as many of the banners are incredibley nice, but if someone is able to make 30 in a day (which gives you a good chunk of time per banner... I assure you, I could pump out a good thousand points worth of banners in a day if I were so inclined) it is quite an upset to the balance of power.
I don't think anyone can deny that on the roleplaying aspect of it, the headmaster saying at the final banquet "And to Gryffindor, for pulling themselves together within the last week of classes... 520 points. And the winner is... Gryffindor!" doesn't seem a little fishie XP
Oh, yeah... and the reason I actually came to post. The Elf cleaning 101 teacher hasn't logged in in a month. I'm kinda wondering how this is gonna affect my marks, and when we're gonna get more than the first week of assignments in that class.

I am also concerned about the banner production. It defeats the purpose of hard work and quite frankly angers me as people have been trying to claim points for banners that they didn't make and ones that don't advertise the guild and worst of all, ones that they made spefiically for point earning. I'm tempted to vito the banner points as the rate of production is clearly with a hidden agenda. I vote to cap the maximum house points at 100 for banner banner making next semester, and maybe reduce the points awarded to 5.

Angilwingz ...people have been trying to claim points for banners that they didn't make and ones that don't advertise the guild and worst of all, ones that they made spefiically for point earning... That bothers me too. I thought the whole point behind the banner making was to help advertise the guild. Pinkie practically said that right at the beginning of the banner thread! All those banners that don't even make a mention of this guild are really starting to annoy me.

I just picked Gryffindor as random figurehead, cause it reminds me of Dumbledore adding all those random points at the end of the book. razz I wasn't singling anyone out. It was merely meant to suggest that the ratio of points gained in the past seven days, compared to the rest of the semester, is quite drastic, and from a role playing perspective would seem unrealistic. Imagine if you would a real Hogwarts... If one of the house heads started adding 300+ points to one student in one day (especially when the finally tally hovers around the 600 mark razz ) I'm sure there would be a large squabble, even amongst the staff.

I think I'm going to have to go back through and remove the points that were added for that reason...because I can tell they just made them for points. It's not fair I've been busting my butt all term.
