Inylysia--Well, they're just random ideas. Recipe one...um...hmm...maybe have like 3 or 4 entries. and the judges try them out.
Like the ...um...catagory for say a month would be "make something with...blueberries" whatever I don't know. Then you could put a due date and only accept like 3 or 4 entries and try 'em out.
Homecraft-that was my favorite idea. Like the theme could be ...Christmas, anything Christmas, and people would make things for it. Like me, I sew and write and photograph, if I entered into that one, I could sew something and maybe write a little blip about it, make up a story for it possibly. Take a picture and load it into here.
-shrugs- just an idea to look forward to. Like if someone loved to cook, they could cook up something to fit the theme...or say the art was metalworking, weld something to fit the theme. The art could even be like...displaying fruit in Christmas-y way or whatever the theme was. something that can be caught in a still frame.
We could try to dress up our pets too....that'd be interesting.
Meeh...they're just random ideas.

Hmm. Firstly for the recipe... i doubt the judges would 'try' them out. It'll be so subjective, because the judge can simply just not do anything and just say some random judgement. o.o And about Homecraft, wouldn't that go into various type of contest? Because there's no prove that what you SEW is really what's on the picture you've taken, rather a photography one is much easier, but we had one of those.

I think we need to add an Advertising forum...
I always see some people posting links to other tektek contests that are not in the guild in the Free Gold forum.

Hmm... This idea has definitely caught my attention; however, I'm pretty confused as to exactly what sort of contest you're talking about, lol. Do you think you could elaborate on this idea or something?

Yeah, that issue in slightly shifting forms has existed in Burn for quite a while now.
Basically, an Advertising Forum is never going to be created. Why? Because:
1) It's like creating a "Commercial Channel" on TV. Nobody wants to watch a ******** TV channel that's all ads, all the time... Similarly, I can't see anyone wanting to browse a forum of such a nature. ( However , I've been thinking every once in a long while about creating some sort of "Gaia Jobs" forum here. The main problem with that though is that even though I thought of the idea totally independently of the Gaia Jobs guild, I certainly don't want to seem like I'm ripping them off or anything )
2) Even though Burn already has like, 18 bizzillion members, I still feel that it's only right & fair that at least a large amount of advertising of other threads/guilds in Burn be done by affiliation only (if you don't know what I'm talking about when I say "affiliation", think of, well, "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"... Although perhaps I could have chosen to explain that in a better way, lol). HOWEVER, I do feel like in certain instances with certain subforums -- like the Free Gold subforum issue thing that you mentioned -- stickies should be created in the respective subforums for the sole purpose of advertising/alerting others in any way of, if we're continuing using "Free Gold" as an example, a contest or giveaway or charity or whatever of yours that's located outside the guild. & of course in such stickies there would be no requirement that the threads advertise Burn in order to post there or anything.
Oh, yay, I'm SOOO glad you're crew now; that can totally be your first crew task! blaugh heart
