"One big, not-so-happy, messed up family..."
Asakura commented dryly, an odd change to her normally cheerful character. Obviously, whatever it had been had shook her, if only momentarily. Her eyes were still fixed on the canopy above, her legs folded beneath her. The sky had begun to clear, shafts of sunlight striking the forest and making the puddles shine. A ray moved across the stirring lake, colouring it silver as it struck the dull grey surface. It seemed worlds away from where she had come from, sitting here in peace with friends. The android sighed.
"I don't wan- well, I guess maybe if you asked... I dunno where to begin... I was an orphan,"
She began hesitantly.
"The orphanage... was underpaid and packed to the rafters. I used to be a pretty little thing; smart, precocious... not any longer, I guess, but still."
She laughed hollowly.
"That sort've thing attracted the wrong kind of attention from either sides. I won't scar you with the details, but it's a long way I got from there to..."
She lifted her arm, indicating the circutry.
"Here. Remembering it kinda hurts sometimes."
The mecha girl shrugged.
