And down the robot went with Lah's mighty kick! Practically buckling over and falling face first half on top of and half next to Lah. Metal forehead would spark along the ground as it looked towards Lah. One metal arm shot underneath the robots body aiming to get behind Lah, the second arm would lash out over Lah. If the two connected the skeleton would be squeezing with extreme force. It was a hug that hopefully could be avoided.

Caesar totaled that robot's skull, like absolutely totaled it. After the back of it's head was taken out it spread out lifeless against the ground. Caesar would luckily only have to deal with a little bit of flying metal, but more importantly could see the smoldering remains of the skull. This model had thick head armour, considering it took two six-gun shots to the head it would have to be. The rest looked like what would happen if you took buckshot to a motherboard. A computer system of some sort was in the things head.

Ray's second assault would be much more effective. The one bullet that made its way to the robots head just so happened to go right in the things screeching mouth, shutting and sending it down. The second robot wouldn't shut down... But Ray did do something much more impressive. The already damaged chest took two more bullets, and that seemed to cause some system to explode. Violently, the entire chest short forward sending metal slag at Ray while the rest of the robot screeched and stumbled backwards.

So far backwards it stepped on the stairs, and promptly careened over backwards. There were a few satisfying clunks as metal body went down steps, but then a much more unsettling sound. Metal against metal, and then much more screeching.

Way more than one robot worth.

Well, that worked, which was good. Lah would try and spin himself around to face his lower body towards the robot's head, hopefully moving himself out of the way of the death hug at the same time. Either way, the robot was going to have some trouble holding the grip, or doing anything else.

Lah pulled one foot back, muscles tensed, and then shot it forward, dead into the face of the robozombie, which happened to be braced against, or at least near the wall of the place. And he'd pull it back, and slam it home again, and again, until he'd managed to turn the thing's skull into a crumpled up tin can.

Of course, if he saw a red glow, things might change.

Ray had taken two out, very good. Though the results of his second attack had been far better than the first. Perhaps even a tad bit too effective to cause one to explode. Covering his face with his own arms as the one blew up he was lucky in that none of the flying pieces hit him, he even went as far as to duck, sending the metal slag up and over his head. Quite the save actually. Turning back he looked at the remaining people that were left up top the palace dome...not enough to stifle an army of zombies, that was for sure.

"You guys had better get going, you might need a head start" He said as he stood up, despite the wobbling of his leg. Yes, he was indirectly telling them to run, because as of a few moments ago he became less than able to move quickly.

"Really though, if you all don't run then we're all just going to die." he said, taking his MP5 in hand.

Caesar relaxed his grip on the shotgun and rapidly drew his left revolver again. He took careful aim for a second time, trusting himself to make a shot into the grapple-- they were close quarters, but he was a rather competent shooter. He'd take aim for a single bullet, hoping the big old guns could pierce the lighter critter's armor.

He would also take measured paces towards the center of the room, away from the stairs. He gestured to the tunnel in the middle of the room, a vertical drainage pipe of some sort to Caesar's unknowing eyes-- where there had been, shortly before, a brief conversation through: "Get over here; I can get us down safely. It's only worth it if one of you can close this tunnel to stop them."

He was fidgeting. They had to move quickly, or he was going to bail-- this was looking like an increasingly bad place to find a good mode of transport in.

The last one didn't stand a chance. Bullets taking care of the lighter armour easy, and then the repeated stomps finishing the job. The life faded out of the last robots eyes.

That said, the sound of metal coming up the steps could be heard in the distance.

"I can't close that tunnel, and... There's a shitstorm down there waiting for us. You want to go after men with guns, or zombies?"

Lah stood up after the robozombie on him died, and unslung his bow, retrieving his discarded crossbows before that and restrapping them to his thighs just before that.

He was down to fifteen crossbow bolts, and he loaded an arrow, ready for whatever it was they were going to get stuck fighting.

Caesar looked outside. It was getting cooler, but the snow wasn't thick enough to block his vision. He could see the battlefield below the tower.

"Alright. Out the window, then. It won't be pretty--"

He moved quickly across the room to Ray, and holstered his pistol. "--But it will work. Grab hold of me, we can do this. I can get us down intact."

Caesar was actually not that confident-- he had done something like this earlier in the day on a much smaller scale-- but it looked like their best shot.

"We don't have time for anything else. Now or never mi amigo." Caesar was already shifting his weight to his far foot from Ray-- whether dragging him or simply bolting himself.

Lahren wandered back, looking down from the window. "That's... nine floors down. You sure about this?"

If he got a vote of confidence from Caesar, he'd go with the plan, but otherwise he'd run back to the foot of the stairs and try and hold things off.

"You want us to jump out the window! are you crazy? It's suicide." he said, keeping both hands on his MP5, just in case.

"How do we plan on getting down there without falling to our deaths? unless both of you can fly, we might just have to fight our way down."Ray added. Sure, his leg was hurt and walking was hard, but he could make it down if they could clear a path. And if worst came to worst he could stay behind, give them time to run.

"You guys had just better go, I'll stay here and find a way out...if nothing else I can buy you all some time." Ray said.

Screeching.

It was growing louder.

Caesar abruptly ceased his retreat. Then he grabbed Ray and shoved him down firmly. The man would shift into the ground, to the depth of about an inch, as if it were a pool of mercury. He would then promptly be repelled out buoyantly. "Yes-- I'm sure."

Every ounce of Caesar's self preservation-- and it came by the truckload-- was urging Caesar to move on and leave Ray. And so he gave the self preservation a chance to express itself, by dragging Ray behind him without waiting for another reply.

He'd be attacked before Caesar, the dragger hoped, if something were to make it up those stairs. He dragged with all his mortal might, grunting "shoot 'em if you see 'em" quite unnecessarily to Ray with the barest hint of a laugh.

"Damn it..." Lah waited by the window as Caesar got closer, moved to a position where he could shoot advancing robozombies without risking shooting his allies. The bow was taut, and would remain so until they were ready to leave, when he would stash the arrow back in the quiver and re-sling the bow.

Alternately, he'd let fly at any zombies that stuck their heads into view.

Ray didn't fight back, he simply let himself be dragged. Whatever, he wasn't complaining. Keeping his hands on his weapon he made sure to keep a wary eye out.

"I'll shoot, you had just better hope I can do it well while you're dragging me." he said, laughing as he did. This was just going from bad to odd really fast.

((Turns=over; cleared with Brown))

At which point Caesar would make contact with Lah-- by one or the other's grabs-- and begin to slip out of the window. "Take a deep breath!"

The descent would be uncomfortable in the extreme, an analog to surfing down the front of a tidal wave. Caesar kept them balanced as best he could, half inside the medium, half out. It was slow-- the building even under Caesar's touch extended through the other men was much more solid than water-- but accelerating.

His control was not absolute, forcing the men to rely on their own balance to avoid falling out or totally inside the structure. Further, when the building did inevitably go over all three's faces in an uncomfortable half-rotation it was impossible to breath and neatly shut off all sound and light. It was a moment of total isolation before they were back out of the building, long enough for Caesar to get off a cry of, "Don't let go! Whatever you do--"

--And they were back flopped into the building, legs exposed to the chill, desperately trying to adjust their balance. Anyone who lost contact with Caesar would be shunted out of the spire and exposed to a free-fall for however long remained before they would hit the concrete of the Ascended Way.

Hey, it was only two hundred feet.

((We're effectively bypassing the Dometop by this unusual route; cleared with Opaj.))

Caesar snagged his arm, and Lah returned the motion, keeping a solid grip there between the two of them, but still not certain what exactly they were going to do.

"Wait, what are w--"

Commence the building surfing. Fortunately, when it came to balance, Lah was second to none, so he wouldn't have any difficulty in staying there, just keeping his grip firmly on Caesar's arm.

And away he went, managing to avoid falling out and plummeting to the ground to his death, and setting down on solid ground.
