Zig immediately felt guilty when Illusion responded to her words. I know I should be helping my country, but I'd rather not destroy Taun's homeland. She sighed mentally and put a hold on these thoughts until a time when she could review them thoroughly. As she listened to the air royalty she realized they had a point. Taun technically had no authority to be an ambassador. Zig's face fell as he left in a business-like manner, but then Lucas made his request. Illusion's comments were worrying her, but she did hope to help her country somehow. "I'd be happy to accompany Taun. And I promise you that I will think on the matter of my loyalty. I expect I at least will return soon enough," she said and with a bow she flew out one of the skylights to follow Taun.

Lus didn't bother moving for a time, she wanted it all to stop. "We must send word to Hidama. She must contact Talia of Earth and request a meeting. If Fire and Water really do ally, Earth is our only hope to be on even ground."

Luke sent out a pulse of cool air as he wrapped his arms around her. He hid his face in her hair, masking the air with her own warm scent, which made him smile. "I'll go talk to Hidama now, then. I'll come back to you once I've told her of her mission."

He kissed the back of her head and hummed appreciatively. "You'll hardly know I was gone."

A whir of wind followed his movement, and he disappeared from the room.

hidama broke off the kiss when she felt someone approching. she quickly sat up and ajusted her strewn clothing. she walked over to the door and pressed her ear to it to see if she could hear anyone.

Moriarty laughed a little as she suddenly stopped. "NOW you're worried?" He mused. "You weren't so worried earlier when my brother came." He stuck his tongue out, and stood up. He was still fully clothed as he watched the door for whoever was coming.

Moriarty only shrugged. "That only makes it that much more exciting." He said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I'm not living, I'm just killing time. Your tiny hands, your crazy kitten smile, and true love waits in haunted attics, and true love lives on lollipops and crisps." He sang, the words echoing through his blood in her mind. He stopped short as he returned his gaze yet again to the doorway.

Lucas knocked lightly on the door, smiling faintly at their anticipation, which was almost palpable.

"Glad you were expecting me," he called. "That simplifies things. Hidama! Princess Illusion requests that you journey to the Earth nation to request the aid of Talia and her people. You will be given whatever supplies you need to accomplish your task. Quickly, now! Your country requires your services!"

He grinned wryly and disappeared, leaving the two to their business, and knowing that Hidama would do whatever Illusion asked.

Illusion didn't know what to do after Lucas left, so for a few minutes she stood there trying to pick out different air streams coming in through the window. She reached out towards the strongest, the one that ran through her city and tried to remember where all it covered. If I can learn to navigate by currents...I will be able to fend for myself once more... She whistled and had one of the elderly scribes from upstairs come down to help her. "Master Scribe, please...bring me a map that covers all of the continent that shows the wind streams, then we will create bumps...so I can read it with my finger tips." The scribe made a noise that she could only assume was a boy of some form, and next thing she knew he was gone.

Luke took his time returning, still walking briskly, but appearing unhurried. "All this royalty business is kind of annoying... Too much pomp and ceremony."

He sighed as he leaned through the doorway and snuck toward Illusion silently. His smile was large and wicked as he approached her, very slowly.

"I can smell you Lucas..." She whispered silently as the scribe returned with the large piece of parchment. "No more scaring for me, ever. You'd have to roll around in something like onions for me not to know it was you." She let out a feint sigh. "And even then I'd be able to feel the motion through the room, probably think it was just an idiot who fell into an onion patch though..."

Luke pouted. "Dang. Usually it takes a while for people to adapt so smoothly to blindness. You cheat!"

He smiled and slipped his arms around her, kissing her hair lightly. "What's the paper for?"

"Sight." Lus held on to him tightly, almost fearing to let go. "I've always been good at smells Luke, yours is easy to pick out." She allowed herself to chuckle at the thought. He smells like spagetti

The scribe unrolled the parchement and said "in order to see with your fingers we will make small holes to represent the currents, then you can run your finger across them and we will tell you all we can about them, such as how far they go, their size, and other such things."

"Easy to pick out...?" Luke chuckled, then set himself still, becoming an anchor for Illusion to hold on to as she learned. It could be a long process... but he was going to stick around. He looped his arm around her waist and guided her hand to the table where the scribe was working.

"Yeah, definately. That and the air yuo carry aroudn you. You've got a very big head." She could finally let go of some of her royalty raised attitudes and tendencies as she learned to read the sky. She was a fast learner, true. But remembering what she learned could take months to accomplish. "We should go out flying sometime, bring the map with us. It may help." She squeezed his wrist reassuringly.
