i can protect gabrielle from banshees... cult members... warlords... or whatever as long as during that time if i happen to strike up a little disagreement and get into a war... (these things happen) then you would fight in my army

she leaned over the table looking at him narrowing her eyes at him "Im not going to be your little pawn in your game Ares. but you are right, she wont be fighting anytime soon. what makes you so sure she needs protecting from a bachee huh, its your child. is that why you want to protect her?" she stood up now placing her hands on her hips looking at him still. "to see the safety of your child, or is it something else?" she asked him

eek evil Aphrodite crossed her arms over her chest. "Well, if you're really going to be that ungreatful and miserable, then maybe I'll just give the baby to someone who might actually want it. Zues forbid that I ever bother you again to make you hate me more than you already do. mad
She waves her arms in one big, round gesture and disappears in a flurry of angry pink sparkles.

surprised by the sudden rage he exerted she stepped back a bit. One thing she learned when she served him, was not to get him angry. Her arms were already at her sides when Xena closed her eyes and rolled her head slightly as Ares touched her. She then opened them and stepped away from him slightly, still dazed placing a hand on his chest. "if i did this, Gabrielle will hate me forever. But if i dont do this she could wind up dead." she leaned back on the wall now dropping her hand from his chest. Not knowing what to do Xena looked at Ares "Wait i think i passed out, did you just say that you rather have me carrying your child?" her face wasnt angry or disgusted, just curious as to why he would say that. getting off the subject of her and Ares she looked at the ground , so many things running around in her mind. which should she do, strike the deal and protect Gabrielle and fight in Ares' army or dont and let Gabrielle die. she looked at Ares "i need time to think about it Ares." inside herself she longed for him, needed him. But she loved Gabrielle too and cared for her friend very much.

*ish walkin thru amphipolis lookin realleh macho and winkin and deh village girls who are just scoffin and rollin their eyes* worry not simple weak amphipolians... amphipolites........sheep folk! 3nodding JOXER DEH MIGHTY will protect you! 3nodding no warlords gunna attack with me around! *trips on a tiny pebble and falls makin lots of clangy noises* ARGGG! gonk *sees a icecream shop on my way down where parents are gettin in for free* ooh.... *pink sparkles float around for a second and disappear* i could go for some goat bladder icecream with relish about now ninja

The flower Ares gave her in hand, she now saw Joxer fumbling around as the people around him didnt notice him. Standing next to him she said "Joxer what are you going here?" she placed her hands on her hips still looking at him "as you can see Meg isnt here, what else could bring you out here, to sheep folk country?" her eyes squinting from the suns rays.

Gabrielle paced the forest floor after Aphrodite left her. What exactly had she meant when she said she'd give the baby to someone who wanted it? Did that mean the goddess was going to take her child away? She had not intended for that to happen. Just because she was freaking out, didn't mean she didn't want the child now that it existed. She swore a few oaths at the trees and tried to calm herself enough to go back to Cyrene's tavern, but it just wasn't working.
