It's hard to imagine not knowing. We had to learn it about 5 times during school. xp And believe me, when your nation is only 200 years old, there's not a whole lot of history to learn!
Having said that, I'm extremely sketchy about America's history. Was it the Mayflower? Or am I thinking of something else entirely. gonk

and the first two permanent settlements were Plimouth in massachusetts (and the first ones there came on the Mayflower and another ship, i believe)

and Jamestown in Virginia (as in the Pocohontas movie)

but the French were active in the north and west of the colonies, and many of their offspring settled here

and the Dutch were in new york first

and denmark was in either New jersey or was in delaware?

and georgia was settled by convicts also
