"So, Tex. How did the Vette get a Battering ram on the front of it?" Liz asked, crushing a Brute in her path. "Well, it was captured by the Brutes and they started to meld this into blades, but we captured it back, first." She replied nervously. "Oh, and by the way, what happened to your helmet?" She asked, looking at the smoldering hunk of metal. "Plasma grenade. Little bugger got me so I had to throw it back." Liz replied, concentrated on the enemies in front of them. Suddenly she stopped and turned on the headlights, hoping to get a better view. It was them. "Hey! 'Nossasami! Groth'yug! Grunt!-" "My name is Gagar!!!!!" The little alien yelled back. "-Whatever!" She yelled back, then revved the engine. "Get out of the way!!!!!!"Sheyelled, just as the Hunter passed an opening just big enough for it. She shot the Vette forward, the ram destroying a barricade in front of it and smashing through the enemies.

A door burst open. Jakals swarmed in, behind energy sheilds, covering the snipers. "Get cover!" Aen shout to the Navy Crewmen and Marines in the room. Aen half sprinted, half limped to a low Titanium A armor wall. "Carbines!" He shouted, partially reliefed that they didn't have the covie sniper rifles, half terrified for the few men under his command for the time being. "Don't kill all of them! We need to suprise Liz!" He shouted, practically saying to capture a Jakal alive. Aen thrusteted his Battle Rifle out of cover as his HUD on his cracked and battered and broken hlemet connected to the weapon. "Sixteen shields... and... five snipers!" He shouted, taking out one of the shielders down. "Scratch that! Fifteen!"

Zhar ordered the Kig-Yar forward, with him in the front of the sheild line. "Move!" He shrieked. One of the Humans fired his gun and took out the soldier next to him. Chur'R-Yar was her name. She lay on the metal floor, screeching in pain. Another human appeared with the big explosive launcher. "Sheilds up! Rockets incomming! Protect and heal Chur'R-Yar!" Zhar ordered. The rocke flew through the air and took out the snipers. Zhar heared the slurping and gurgling of human speech. The next thing he knew, his group was dead, all save him and Chur'R-Yar, but she was fadin fast. Suddenly, the human leader was standing infront of him. Suddenlt he blacked out, the last thing he saw for hours was Chur'R-Yar being knocked out

Aen dragged the Jakal to a small make-shift command center. The other was badly wounded, but nothing the Feild-Promoted Medic couldn't fix.

From out of a port window, Liz saw a UNSC Halcyon Assault Cruiser jump out of Slip-Space. The cruiser started to bombard the enemy fleet just as more UNSC ships dropped out. The battle out in space had just started, when a Covenant city jumped out behind the Covenant fleet. "Oh, s**t." Liz said. The Covenant were out numbered 4 to 1, but that city had more than evened the odds. "We have to get to Lord Hood, and quickly!!" Liz announced over TAC-COM. Then, over FLEET-COM, "Captain Keyes? Is that you?" "Sorry, but it's Fleet Admiral Keyes, now. I got a promotion yesterday, and, well, now I'm here to help you buy enough time to get Lord Hood, then jump back to Earth. Now hurry!" He shut off communications, thencontinued to bombard the fleet, issuing tactical orders and attack formations. With Keyes there, the Covenant were doomed, even the city.

"Aen, how's your head? And what's with that horrible screeching in the background?" Tex asked over TAC-COM, watching the battle in space as the Vette barreled through yet another group of enemies. "If I'm right, that's a Jakal. Right, Aen?" Liz then asked, laughing a bit at the crunching of a Brute's head under one of the tires.



Gruth'yug fired another plasma blast, draining the plasma supply for his arm cannon. He roared, then ran forward, swinging his shield at anyone in his way, clearing a path for the others behind him. "Fire in the hole!!!" Gagar yelled, throwing a plasma grenade over the Hunter. "Aaaaaaaannnnnnnnddddd-" BOOM! "-HEADSHOT!" The ST yelled and the sniper round went through four Grunts and a Brute's leg, the massive ape then fell to the ground, and was stepped on by Gruth'yug. The plasma soared through the air and stuck an Elite, which stood there and roared while Grunts tried to flee from it, but were caught in the blast area, killing many. 'Nossasami shot his Carbine, draining an Elite's shield, then got him with a head shot. They were advancing, but not quite as fast as the Vette was.

"No, it's just that when you rolled over, it activated TAC-COM transmission. And you were sounding almost depressed enough to cut yourself, Emo Boy." Liz said, barreling through 10 Grunts, killing 8 of them. "Oooohhhhhh. 7-10 split. Whatever shall I do? Oh, yah. This." She said, then changed gears to "Reverse", and backed up into them. "Spare!" She yelled out, then continued onward, the Vette smashing through even more Grunts.

Liz rolled the Vette to a stop. [over TAC-COM] "Found the entrance to the Engine Room, and man is it a packed hallway. They are still fighting though, and that should be a big enough distraction for us to roll on through. [Off of TAC-COM] Tex, you get on the roof, cut them down with the machine gun." Liz said. "Fine. I'll see you when we get to Lord Hood." Tex said, then got out of the Vette and hopped on the top of it. "Ummm, Liz? There isn't a machine gun any more. There is what looked like a modified Brute Shot, like what the Choppers have. And it's triple barrel." She said after looking at the strange weapon. "Sweet! That'll cut them down even faster!" Liz said. "Now get ready, I'm gonna rush 'em!" She hit the accellerator, drawing some of the Covenant's attention to the Vette before they were crushed from the battering ram and the tires, the Grunts, Jakals, and Brutes who were an inch to far to the left were cut down by the blades on the hubcaps, and those that the Vette completely missed, Tex blew apart with the T-Brute Shot. (Triple Brute Shot)

"Shelby? Is that you?" Liz said after they barreled through the doorway and skidded to a stop.

"Who are you?" Liz said as a new arrival ran into the room.
