Awww. X> But even if I want to, which I do, I can't apply. I don't have Photoshop CS, and I don't think I could put together a nice portfolio in time. Maybe next time.

Can your machine not run it? Because, I mean, we are on the internet after all. And well, putting together a character sketch portfolio would be a start, since you just did a bunch of that and it is related to the site. I mean, it isn't landscape and everything else you may want to show off, but the style progression would still be worth showing. Besides, I see no reason not to try. Hell, even if they weren't actively hiring I wouldn't see any reason not to put together a basic portfolio that you could hand out. And luckily, art is something you can get a job with based on talent rather than where you went.

They want you to have a legal copy. I only have a legit copy of Elements. I never bothered getting anything better because I draw pretty much everything in Paint Tool SAI now. I wonder how they would check for that, though? hmm. ninja
Since they're looking for sprite artists, avatar art examples and the like might be good enough. But... I really don't have much else. : /;; Juno wants 10 pieces, and I haven't drawn enough completed stuff recently to fill even that. And I hate anything that's even a little old. I think I'd rather wait until next time, and work on more varied stuff until then. Maybe.
That may be so, but I don't think I have nearly enough talent to override a complete lack of technical schooling.

What's the harm in putting what you have together now out there? I mean, if you get declined, you were planning on working for more stuff for the next round of hirings, anyway. Or is there some rule where you can only apply once?
Besides... if I know you, "next time" you won't have enough for your portfolio either because you'll consider what is recent now "old" and hate it, right? <.< You're too hard on yourself.

Ow, Pyre, you got me. xd My "I hate my old art" attitude persists no matter what... although I think it would be a little better if I was able to get myself to do better colored stuff, stuff with perspective, some item design (since it's spriting) or something. More variety than just the massive amount of avatar/portrait-ish art I have to show now.
Everybody's telling me to go for it, but there's still the problem of not having Photoshop CS, haha.

You know, I think facebook failed. Though, I now know why she was so pissy. Of course, in what has to be one of the all time stupidest moves after breaking up with somebody, she wants to take 21 hours.

THIS HAS BEEN ME ALL DAY.I think I'll give it a shot. I don't think I'll get it, especially since my resume section will be pretty weak, but if I somehow DO get it... then I'll worry about Photoshop CS. >__> (I know how to use it, I just don't have it.) Man, why do you all gotta be so encouraging. crying heart Edit: UH, or maybe not. I'm reading some of Juno's comments on her deviantart journal, and she recommends against applying if you're a college student. D:...

Probably one I should take seriously, though. : P Especially considering how flaky I can be with my art these days.
On top of that, I've also noticed how many infinitely more awesome people are already applying. I think I'll wait until another time, and practice everything (including motivation and consistency orz).
That's a nice video, but I wonder how relevant it is to me, who is not an art student? xd ;; It does make me feel better about waiting until next time, though. :>
Edit: man I really hijacked the thread. I WASN'T TRYING TO D:

Well you are an artist so I thought it might be a bit relevant in motivation maybe.

I know, I'm just teasing. razz It was mostly talking about people who want to make art a career, which... I don't really, despite my successful derailing of the thread. xD; It's a good message, though. Thanks for showing me. (:
