"I think I'm going to bomb it. I'm not all that great with the advanced sorcery. That plus Dolores and Aoi can't do the evaluation. They said it had to be a warlock rank to do so." He sighed. "After the written test I've got three days down time. Then I'm screwed."

Kaira stepped out, "A Warlock rank? I happen to know one!" she smiled, "My little brother is one." she said.

"Seriously?" Okay, now this meant that Keiryu might end up getting the other part of exam sooner than he thought.

"Yeah, I heard what happened. . . . Can't we just get Goku back though?" Keiryu asked.

Dolores decided to take a walk. She felt a famliar aura. The magican grinned, "Found my back up warlock. . . ." She headed towards the source of the aura. "OI! DIARMUID!"
"Huh? Dolore-AAAH!" The warlock was promply glomped and the dragged back to the Sha house. She was pretty much stunnded and confused. To the gods, her aura was identical to a certian valkyrie cousin of Kenren's.

Kenren tensed, the feeling he got was so familiar and he and Tenpo looked back when Dolores came into view. No it wasn't her. . . .
"Who's this?" Kenren asked.
"Yes, I'm also curious" Tenpo said.

"This is Warlock Irene Diarmuid. A co-worker of mine." She grinned but then it quickly turned into a nervous smile once she looked at the very ticked off and confused woman.
"What the hell did you bring me here for?!" She stood up, nearly knocking Dolores over. "I am not cattle!" Indeed, same temper as the valkyrie.
"I need your help with a student. You're the only other able warlock in town? Ah ehehe . ."
Irene sighed, "I come to the east for the bloody grail war and now I have to give an evaulation? Alright, let me see the nugget."
Aoi sweatdropped. She looked at Hoseki, "You'll be up against her in the event. . . Unfortunately."
Her face read, 'Why me? Why did it have to be me?' Yup, she was really nervous and scared.
Dolores went and got Keiryu. "This is Keiryu Sha. He's the new one."
"He's a pint." Irene was certianly caught off guard. "Wait, you're representing Brimstone in this battle royale, aren't ya?"
"Yeah. . ." He didn't sound too happy about that.

Kenren didn't answer, his hands were in his pockets as he watched. He found a seat and sat down instead, "So, this is what you do for evaluation. Good luck Keiryu, Hoseki."
Gojyo was now downstairs, crushing another cig pack and throwing it away. The guy looked horrible, tired looking, gloomy, and an emotional wreck.
"You look like all hell" Sanzo said.
"Good" Gojyo sat down as he pulled his hair back.
"Gojyo. . ." Muttered Hakkai.
"He's got all the reason to be this way" Kenren said from his seat, "Just let him be. He'll be ok after a while."
Konzen entered next, hands in his pockets and eyes cast over in shadow. Apparently, Gojyo wasn't the only on who was under greif. He was missing Goku.

"Okay you know what? You do your written exam today. I'll back tomorrow and you gonna do a series of demos. Clear?" Irene looked at Hoseki, "What about you?"
"Eh? Oh. . . I'm done with the written exams." Hoseki said nervously.
"Figured. Okay, I need you to do the first part of the evaluation. Show me your image tracing, renforcement, and mana burst." Irene told her.
"Right now?"
Irene nodded. "Image trace . . . " She looked around. Irene had an idea, "This." Now this was a red flag, Irene had whipped out Freya's spear. Black with gold etching, Norse runic markings on its blade and a sturdy yet semi-flexible shaft. "Trace it exactly like this."
Hoseki was nervous, very nervous. She started up her mana circuitry and started to copy the spear.

Tenpo stood near like he had through all of Hoseki's lessons. He was her support after all.

There was gold light at her hand. It lengthened and then shifted into the shape of the spear. However it didn't shift color to the original's. The color was off but everything else was an exact copy of the original, unless you're counting the power the spear had. Which of course was cut in half since it was only a copy.
Now, making a war goddess's weapon was draining enough. Copying it took half of her mana supply. "Whew. . ."
"Okay . . Coloring's off but everything else looks fine. Okay. . .Now for reinforcement." She pointed to the window, "Reinenforce that. Make sure that it doesn't break when I throw something at it."
Hoseki nodded and then placed her hand on the window. She fired up her mana circuits but when she did, something happened. The flesh off her arm exploded off of her bones, a mana burnout. A rather bloody one. She shrieked in pain and looked at her bone arm.
"Wait, her mana circuits were fine this morning! What happened?" Aoi was just as stunned as everyone else in the room.
"What the hell, short blast mana burnout? That's just bullshit."
Keiryu was just happy he got the surgery on his mana circuits a week ago. Seeing Hoseki now. . . Ouch. No, ouch was an understatement. He winced.

Tenpo ran over, concerned. He was certainly quick to help her by healing her arm as best he could.
Konzen frowned, "This is upsurd. What is thw point in this whole exam? Having people test their mana strength. Burnouts are tii dangerous for this." He turned to look at Hoseki and went to work on re-routing the mana and healing the arm. It always paid to be a high rank god, "Ch, the things I do. . . this is as bad as Goku after he takes a fall like he always does. . ."

"The point of the exam is to see if you can actually cast spells with no problem at all. Timing, strength, speed and effectiveness of the sorcery are gauged here." Irene then looked confused, "But what I don't understand is why did she get a mana burnout. Her arm was fine moments ago and then boom!"
She shook her head and sighed, "If there's nothing wrong with her circuits then I don't know what's happening."
"You think she's got ghost circuits?" Dolores asked.
Irene shurgged, "Most likely but then she might have a mana worm or some other ailment that makes mana burnouts."

Konzen didn't answer, "Mana worms. . . bad experience" He said. Konzen hated it when he had three in his left arm. Though the scars had long since healed, he felt like they were back.
"Try having 23 when you were trainning in your teen years" Tenpo said.

"How the hell did you survive that many?" She looked at Tenpo.
"We should be worried about her now. Not comparing how many mana worms we use to have." Irene stated.
Hoseki was basically out from blood loss during the whole splatter. She was just out cold now.
