Footsteps could be heard approaching the gatehouse of this intellectual fortress. They weren’t the soft landing of tennis shoes or the short clicks of high heels- instead, the sound had taken a middle road, one that was particular to a fine pair of shoes. Rightly so; for the figure that donned them seemed to originate in the highest circles of modern society. A fine pair of pants that seemed immune to the lasting effects of wrinkling shrouded his legs in pitch black, only to be consumed by the dark red hue of a loosely buttoned long-sleeve shirt that waved with the chilling gust that barraged his silhouette. This all seemed to have been kept out of sight, unless you stood before him, largely due to a long, black coat that bore the seal of the Necroversity- a black skull with two skeletal arms crossing underneath it; one hand holding a severed eye between its thumb and index finger while the other was closed over a scroll sealed in dripping red wax: a covenant made with death

Those who realized the significance of this symbol would find that its character was reflected in this man’s own appearance. Standing close to six feet in height, his figure accurately described as both tall and gaunt. The slimness of his appearance and high cheekbones were the prominent features which gave him an unnerving quality. This was further enhanced by the paleness of his skin- very much to the point of having reached a constant state of apparent sickness. His short and wilted hair held no color of its own while his eyes shone an unsettling shade of red- he could quite easily come across as albino, if only his skin was not just pale, but contained slight shades of lifeless gray instead of a fleshy pink. Eyes sported a patch of shadowed skin underneath and an exotic sharp fringe at the outermost corner.

The necromancer approached the gatehouse silently, taking note of a group of giddy little human girls, as he would call them, talking festively about an event that the school seemed to be hosting. The person manning the gatehouse registration seemed to be taking his time- a quick glance around him showed little merits. The training hall seemed to dominate the view in- besides which would be his new home: the Asura Laboratory building. Students roaming the campus didn’t seem to hold much in terms of his approval: far too frivolous compared to the intellectual institutions of his homeland, where studies would hold a far greater position in their lives. Those that hadn’t spent their time chatting about in little groups about the most insignificant things their pathetic little minds could conceive of were found lounging about- such as the case of a woman sitting at the base of a tree, looking like she’d slip into a coma from all the free time… but that was wishful thinking on his part.

Finally, there was a response from the clerk, “Ah, I’m sorry… I had some papers to go through. I didn’t see you there.” Varon turned around and wordlessly handed him the letter stating he’d transfer as a researcher, “Oh, welcome to Ria High, mister Vamori. The Asura Laboratory is right next to the Training Hall, but I was told by the Headmaster that you’d start off your first assignment in the Halloween Boo Bash event.” The man was met with a cold stare before being asked, “Where may I contact the Hierarchy of this place?” The clerk held out a map and pin-pointed the position of the Headmaster’s Tower and Varon strode off, aiming to strike an agreement on these vague terms in his contract.

Rin stepped out of the car she was in to go towards the gates of Ria High. She didn't know what to expect. She saw the girl in front of the gates asking for acceptance letters. Rin grabbed around in her coat pocket to get the letter out. She touched the deck of cards that got her sent here in the first place. If only she would stop her habit of gambling even though she was good at it. Half the things she owned come from people who lost at a game of cards with her. She gave the girl the letter and walked on. She touched her white hair and looked at herself on a window's reflection. Her eyes were yellow most people who saw her said she had hawk eyes because of the color."Well let's see who wants to play a game with me," flicking her cards in front of her.

Anath stood just outside the gate, hesitant to enter the strange new place. He fidgeted with the adjustment strap on his clean, white backpack. His father having just driven away to take Anath's twin brother to his first day of fifth grade at an elementary school, the boy of nine looked a bit lost and confused. Glancing from side to side, he started forward toward a group of similarly lost-looking students, only to be intercepted by what appeared to be an android.
"Welcome to Ria High School. Please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID" said she.
Nodding quietly, the boy pulled off his backpack and went through it briefly. All the papers had been placed within it were neatly ordered to Anath's own preference.
"Here," Murmured the boy, holding them up to her. She checked his papers and handed him his ID. Pulling his backpack back on, the small boy made his way to stand behind the others, waiting patiently and keeping his eyes on his feet, looking a bit lonesome and lost, a single child amongst a sea of elder, unfamiliar people.

Pulling her luggage along, there was a sort of 'umph'ing noise coming from the teenage girl who stopped at the welcoming center at the gate.

"Welcome to Ria High School! May I see your acceptance papers please?"

"O-Of course! Hold on a moment..." Reaching into one of the pockets in her cherry-blossom pink dress, she pulled out the necessary papers. Pale hands set the papers down on the counter, silvery eyes smiling as she looked at the kind lady at the desk. Would everyone here be kind also...? Well, she figured she couldn't really make that assumption. There had to be a balance!

"You are Momoko Himeji? Welcome to Ria! Here's your student ID, and I believe that you have a dorm as well... Here's the number."

"Thank you very much!"

Momoko had taken a moment to tuck a long, light blue curl behind her ear before picking up her identification card and paper with dormitory information. Giving a friendly nod of the head and another 'thank you', moving away from the gate as to not be troublesome.

It occured to the girl then that she was pretty lost. Pausing, she took a moment to look around at her surroundings... it was a pretty large campus and... she looked up to the skies... were those buildings on clouds?! Letting out a little gasp, she stumbled backwards a bit. Momoko had caught herself though, and held a pale hand up to one of her rosy cheeks.

"Oh my... oh my..."
She said to herself, shaking her head gently. She could figure this all out! Of course, it would be great if she could find some help...

Seyla liked to wander by the main gates from time to time. She remembered when she was a new student coming to Ria High. It was very intimidating and exhilarating all at once. Sometimes she simply stood and watched as new students took their first steps onto the campus; other times she stepped in and helped them out. Today was one of the days for the latter.

She spied a young girl with vibrant blue curls in the distance. She appeared shy and a little lost, just as she had been when she first arrived. She smiled, yes she would help this girl. With a confident step she made her way towards the newcomer and decided to introduce herself. The way the girl stared up at the sky in wonder amused Seyla to no end; it was cute, no precious.

"You look a little lost," she began as she extended her hand, "would you like some help?" She realized that she could be scaring the girl and quickly whipped her hand away, the gloved appendage quickly becoming entangled in her dark brown curls.

"Oh sorry, I'm Seyla Hawking. I'm an elemental tutor here. I didn't mean to come off so strongly, or to scare you. Are you new to Ria High? What's your name?" She apologized. Hopefully the girl wouldn't become so flustered that she would run away. Seyla could relate. When she first came to the school she was very introverted. It had taken a lot of work from her friends to get her to come out of her shell.

[Sorry it took so long, had to deal with some nonsense at work]

"You look a little lost, would you like some help?"

At this, Momoko jumped quickly and lost her footing as she attempted to whirl around."O-oh.. oh!" She whimpered just before her knees gave out and the fell onto the ground. Her dress fanned out, and the petal-like tiers of it spread almost perfectly. It looked like the girl was wearing a sweet, pink rose.

Holding a pale hand over her heart, she took a couple deep breaths-- the other had surprised her greatly! As nice as help was, Momoko felt a little guilty for thinking that no one would actually help her about and such...

"S-sorry! You su-surprised me..." the faerie said, looking up with a flushed face. Her silver eyes blinked as she looked up at Seyla, and she quickly gave a little grin. She looked very nice too! It was a good thing, Momoko figured, that she had encountered nice people so far at this school.

Blinking, the teen listened to Seyla's introduction. An elemental tutor? Did that mean that she was a teacher? She looked so young...!

"U-uhm... it's very nice to meet, you Miss Seyla... My name is Momoko Himeji, but um..! You can call me what you'd like." She said, pulling herself up as she spoke in her soft tone. Her small hands brushed over her dress to wipe off the dirt, and she looked back at the other politely.

"Are you, then, a teacher here?"

Anath made his way from the table, and paused a moment to watch with slightly wide eyes as he saw one of the nearby women fall over.
"Oh my... are you okay?" he inquired quietly, not sure she would be able to hear his quiet question, taking a few hesitant steps toward her. His hands were tightly clinging to the strap of his backpack.

Seyla flushed in much of a mirror image of this girl’s display. Of course she had startled her! However, what she witnessed net left her in awe. The girl quickly gave a little hop, and then a swift twirl. But then the poor girl quickly fell to the ground. Seyla’s hands immediately went to her mouth as she gasped. Upon falling, the skirt of her dress whipped out creating a beautiful, flower like display. Seyla couldn’t help but stare, it was just…so… beautiful! Seyla hadn’t intended to scare the girl so much, but in doing so she found herself mesmerized by her grace and beauty. What was she? This lithe little girl had an aura of brightness that exuded from her exterior, and upon a moment’s glance, Seyla could have sworn she held
more resemblance to a pink rose than a teen girl.

"S-sorry! You su-surprised me..." As she said this, Seyla momentarily caught a glance of the girl’s vibrant silver eyes. She smiled, it seemed she wasn’t the only one with unusual irises. Seeing that she was still on the ground, she extended a hand to help her up. Of course, Seyla was careful to offer her left hand, as opposed to the customary right. Even though she had gained a lot of control over the glove, it still made her uncomfortable. When people looked at her gloved hands, it was hard to tell the difference, or even that there was one. However, unlike her left hand, the right was very cold and metallic; the glove itself held a rubbery texture that was nothing short of inhuman. Even with those she knew closely, like Kurai, it was very rare for her to offer her right hand, it had become a common courtesy for her. The girl’s wide, doe-eyed grin brought Seyla back from her thoughts as she waited for her to accept her hand.

"U-uhm... it's very nice to meet, you Miss Seyla... My name is Momoko Himeji, but um..! You can call me what you'd like." She listened intently to the nice girl, it seemed she had made a new friend. Maybe she would be able to help her out?

“Do you mind if I call you Momo? Like the peach?” she asked. The nickname seemed to suit the girl in her eyes. She was nothing short of cute, and indeed very sweet and vibrant. She waited a moment, giving the girl time to absorb everything before she answered her next question.

"Are you, then, a teacher here?"Many had asked her the very same thing before. It was a simple mistake, thinking that a tutor was at the same level as a teacher. She had a long way to go before she could teach here! But she hoped to do so in the future. First, she had to retain full control over this glove of hers, and prove that she was capable of teaching students in a safe environment. Mother Aili had been very kind when she allowed Seyla to tutor students in the elemental arts. It was a very risky decision on her part—Seyla was very unpredictable, and even she couldn’t predict some of the things the glove did. However, things had run very smoothly thus far, and it pleased her to know that she was helping.

“Ahh not quite! I hope to be a teacher one day though. I graduated close to three years ago… yes it’ll be three years on the 20th! Oh my! Time flies!” she exclaimed. Seyla truly hadn’t realized how long it had been since she was a student. Had she really been tutoring for so long? Well technically, it would be her 2 years in December. Upon graduation, Seyla had left Ria High in hopes of higher learning. Of course, the university environment proved to be a little too difficult without the support of friends. It wasn’t that she didn’t have the intellect; it was more so the social skills, and a few accidents she had caused in the university labs that lead to her ultimate expulsion. It seemed other schools didn’t look so kindly to flame users as Ria High had. She had taken the news hard at first, but then decided to return to Ria in hopes of finding her friend Kurai. Long story short, she was now a tutor.

“I specialize in flame wielding and summons, but I’m also able to help out with rudimentary elemental skills. I help students outside of their classes if they wish to have one on one training, or if Mother Aili is unavailable.”

Nervously, Momoko found herself constantly tucking her soft blue curls behind her ears. Even when there wasn't anything for her to tuck, she constantly made the motions. The faerie had caught the look of captivation on Seyla's face from only moments ago, when she fell... It was looks like those that embarassed the girl the most. From humans, and others, the expression was a common one after watching a faerie. It was the racial grace that caught the eye of others.

All of her sisters were proud of this fact, and flaunted it with their skills in ballet-- one of the things faeries were better known for, besides making mischief. After all, who else could have done so well in plays like "The Nutcracker"? Faeries, all of them... well, every so often there would be a spectacular human or another race.

Grace was granted to the winged folk...

"Do you mind if I call you Momo? Like the Peach? At this, the girl was broken out of her slight trance of embarrassment. This question, in fact, made Momoko so very happy! This was apparent by the glistening in her silver irises, the wide pink grin on her face, and the extra chub on her cheeks. Quickly she nodded, folding her hands at her chest.

"Yes, thank you! I'm happy to be named as such."
the Fae exclaimed, nodding her head as she did. She felt as if she had already made a friend on campus. However listening to Seyla's next statement, she found herself surprised.

Seyla had graduated three years prior? Momo's eyes widened a bit at the fact before relaxing again, an innocent smile placed still upon her lips. Perhaps it would be good for her that she was friends with someone who had a goal for life. A role model!

It was pleasant to hear Seyla reminiscing to Momoko, as if they had already been friends for a while.

"Ah..! Then, I believe that you will reach your goal one day! You can do it, Miss Seyla!" She cheered the other on, doing a little fist pump, her head tilting a bit to the side.

"B-but... um..."
She started, looking down shyly. "Who might Mother Aili... be...? Is she kind? Am I required to meet her..? D-does she... dislike faeries...?" Momoko's voice shrunk a bit in worry-- even though Faeries were beautiful and graceful, they were notorious for causing bad problems... hence, they were greatly disliked by many.

[To heartsXdespise;; Sorry... Dx;; I wasn't sure where I could fit you into my post... ; __ ; I hope you find someone elsewhere to roleplay with!]
PostPosted: Sun Nov 08, 2009 7:26 pm

Seyla eyed the girl curiously, noting how nervous she seemed to be. It appeared she had some insecurities of her own. Instead of looking down upon her for it, she empathized. After all, Seyla was just as insecure about her right hand.

"Yes, thank you! I'm happy to be named as such."

Seeing how she positively beamed at the sound of her new nickname filled Seyla with warmth and joy. Sure it was the cheesy stuff of hallmark cards, but one couldn’t deny how good it felt. Her eyes sparkled brightly, and her face turned a colorful shade of pink, there even seemed to be a glow emanating from her skin. Seyla couldn’t help it, the young girl was just too cute. She wasn’t generally the type to get so worked up over cute things either. But she was rather taken by Momo, and she made it a point to take the new student under her wing.

What was even more amusing was the look upon Momo’s face when she realized how old Seyla was. She giggled softly. It was a common experience lately as Seyla didn’t appear old enough to be a teacher. Many students just assumed that she looked older than she was. Seyla would be 21 in a few months, making her far too old to be a student at the school. Even so, she found she got along well with most of the students. Her position as a tutor placed her in a very good spot; she was the perfect liaison between the younger students, and the teachers and administrators who seemed far too “godly” for the students to approach. It was a post she was happy to accept. She was soon pulled away from her distracting thoughts by Momo’s sweet voice.

"Ah..! Then, I believe that you will reach your goal one day! You can do it, Miss Seyla!"

It was nice to hear such an optimistic voice. Many of the students could be very negative thanks to their raging hormones. Seyla remembered she had been very much like that as a student. She was thankful she had matured from that stage and retained an optimistic, if not realistic outlook on life. She smiled once more, her golden-gray eyes holding a brightness that seemed to come from the sun itself.

“Thanks Momo! I’m sure you’ll succeed in whatever goals you have. If you ever need help with anything, I’m always willing to lend a hand.”

Her offer was genuine. This girl was welcome to come see her whenever she wished. Seyla made a mental note to show her to the training hall and where she lived.

"B-but... um..." She started, looking down shyly. "Who might Mother Aili... be...? Is she kind? Am I required to meet her..? D-does she... dislike faeries...?"

Momo had suddenly grown nervous. Seyla placed a comforting hand upon her shoulder as she spoke.

“I’ll be sure to introduce you. Mother Aili does a lot of work here at Ria High. She is a doctor over at the hospital, and she helps run the church. She also teaches most of the elemental students. She is a very kind woman, I look up to her very much! ”

While she may not have beamed about Mother Aili in the same way as Kurai did, it didn’t mean he didn’t hold the same respect and awe. In fact she looked up to her, just as she had said. Mother Aili had done a lot for her since the events of that unfortunate accident in the Asura labs. It was because of her, Kurai, and Headmaster Mattus that she was no longer subjected to testing. Mother Aili also allowed her to become a tutor despite her previous record in the accidents department. It took an amazing person to see people for what they truly were and give them a second chance. Seyla only wished she could become like Mother Aili in the future. Indeed, those in Ria High who didn’t already know her were missing out.

“Oh, and don’t worry, Mother Aili has nothing against faeries!” she added in hopes of reassuring Momo. It seemed her outburst also answered her question of Momo’s identity.

‘ A faerie huh? No wonder why she’s so beautiful and graceful! She seems to be bothered by it for some reason. I should be careful of that in the future…’ Seyla thought. She of all people knew how it felt to have something forced upon you.

((Oh, it's quite alright! ^.^ I don't mind in the least. I shall take my little boy elsewhere, I suppose~ Think nothing of it! ;D ))

Anath smiled briefly, seeing the faerie well and happy, and turned from the two. His hands wrung the strap of the backpack tighter as he headed off on his own, still looking a bit lost although he knew the campus map lay in his backpack. Within a moment, he had vanished into the crowds, heading toward the southern courtyard.

Momoko had noticed-- when she had said she was happy about her nickname that was given to her, Seyla was also happy. Now it was her own turn to be captivated... Miss Seyla was so pretty! With glimmering eyes and a shining smile, she carried a lovely positive aura with her; one that you didn't need magic to see, because it was so apparent. Definitely, she could feel she and Seyla would get along well.

"Thanks Momo!.."

The faerie gave a happy jump of sorts at hearing her nickname, leaning in a bit as she was happy to pay close attention to the things that her senior had to say. Even happier when Seyla mentioned that she was always willing to help the girl out. Was it possible to be even more happy?

"Thank you so much, Miss Seyla..."
She said, relaxing a bit. If there was a thermometer to measure the heat of happiness, it had already become much too warm, and she needed to calm down. Momo now wore a gentle smile with soft eyes.

She felt more at ease when Seyla's gloved hand rested on her shoulder, looking up at the elder of the two. More so than the hand, her words brought rest to the faerie's uneasy soul.

Seeming to admire Mother Aili very much, Seyla had continued to beam brightly as she spoke good of the teacher. Nodding, Momoko continued to smile the sweet smile she had from when she calmed.

"Well, since Mother Aili doesn't dislike faeries, and because Miss Seyla looks up to her so much, I'll take your word for it. I now hope that I can meet her, sometime. M-maybe... some of your other friends too...?"
She questioned nervously. She figured that it could be easy to make friends by affiliation with a common friend...

"B-by the way, I hope you don't find me too formal when I say your name... Already, I feel like it may be inappropriate..." Momoko mused slightly, thinking on it for a moment. "Ah! Can I call you Aane? I-It's um... it means 'big sister' in fae..."

Seyla took a moment to think. It probably wouldn't do Momo any good to simply stand here and converse. Sure the social aspect was beneficial, but she still hadn't made good on her promise to show her around the campus. It was nice to make a new friend though. Seyla wondered if this was how Kurai felt about her. She was then quick to dismiss the thought with a small fit of laughter under her breath.

'Kurai thinks me more of a pest than anything! No that's not right, he does care, but he's a guy, guys don't get these warm fuzzy feelings! she told herself in her head. It was then that she heard Momo speaking again. She seemed nervous and her voice was shaky.

"Well, since Mother Aili doesn't dislike faeries, and because Miss Seyla looks up to her so much, I'll take your word for it. I now hope that I can meet her, sometime. M-maybe... some of your other friends too...?"

"Of course. I'll introduce you to some of my friends after I show you around the school a bit...if that's alright with you?" she suggested. She then offered her arm for the fae to take. Hopefully she would understand the gesture was an offer for them to link arms. As she did so, Momo spoke up once more,

"B-by the way, I hope you don't find me too formal when I say your name... Already, I feel like it may be inappropriate..." Momoko mused slightly, thinking on it for a moment. "Ah! Can I call you Aane? I-It's um... it means 'big sister' in fae..." A swift blush crept up her cheeks. In all of her years, she had never had anyone look up to her in such a way. Sure students came to her for help, but that was always when dealing with mandatory school matters. Now there was a little fae she had just met looking to call her 'big sister.' She was flattered immensely and did her best to hide her surprise. Seyla Hawking did not lose her cool; or thats what she liked to think.

" Of course! I like it very much! Thank you Momo!"she replied cheerfully. It seemed Momo's high spirits were rubbing off on her. Seyla was usually easy going and optimistic, but she was never so upbeat as she had been in the last few moments with Momo. Maybe it was because she was a faerie? Either way, she enjoyed the bliss and waited for Momo to take her arm.
