@Anyone
Suddenly something came flying towards out of one of the windows towards the group of trainers. When the fumes from the canister were released it was found to be tear gas that filled the air around the trainers and the pokemon trying to break the trainers.

 Shadow admonished. Zinnia, Zyk, and Shadow Mew were all three with the other Rockets, protected by the shield.
"I'm sure that there was a good reason for all of this," Zinnia said stubbornly. "Team Rocket is always right." She was not afraid. As long as she had Shadow and Zyk with her, she was safe. Shadow could teleport her to safety at any moment, and Zyk was completely loyal. They would both protect her. Still, the turn of events were... unnerving. Where did kidnapping and stealing exactly line up with a better world in the future?
"Research... It was just research," Zinnia decided. "Team Rocket is advancing technology to make the world better." That made sense. After all, the force field was really something else, and maybe cloning would benefit something, somehow, in the future.

Jen was about to answer Raina when her throat suddenly closed off, her eyes watering like mad at...
What the hell?!
Tear Gas?!
"EVERYONE!" Jen stumbled away from the Inn as Demyx and Abiba also gagged from the smoke; Jen quickly withdrew them while covering her mouth and nose with her bandana.
"GUYS! GET AWAY FROM THE INN! THEY HAVE TEAR GAS!"

Lady Mist  Lumina walked over to the stilled ball, scooping it up between both palms in a sort of daze. She turned back to the healer, her cheeks flushing as her mouth blossomed into a grin, "My first pokemon."
She laughed and spun around once, clutching the ball to her chest, "I got an eevee! Liam, an eevee! Oohh, what should I name her?"
The watcher could have probably pranced about all day, had it not been for the sudden exclamations of those around them. "A shield?" Lumina questioned, her grin downgraded to a concerned look, though the ball was still tightly clutched. She was afraid to let the creature out with the rockets still there.
@ anyone
"Can't we cut the power? Or anything?" Lumina looked around.
"That, my dear, is completely up to you," he replied, amused.
Unfortunately, as situations often were, reality caught up fairly quickly. Tilting his head, he listened to the talk about the barrier, his frown returning. Mentally, he wondered if Ridley was inside, and his expression darkened considerably, his thumbs hooking tightly in his beltloops.
EDIT
At the cry of tear gas, Liam grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulling it up over his nose and mouth and squinting his eyes, and he tore off his vest, shoving it at Lumina, already sprinting out of the way.
"Cover your face!"

The tear gas made Alex cough, backing away she yelled out. "Someone, use gust or whirlwind!"

 Anise and Felix quickly scrambled back from the tear gas, along with the rest of the trainers. If the Rockets had that, would they have anything worse?

"I don't need to have him mind-check you. I believe you... And if that's true..."
Oyumi paused and frowned, looking towards the inn and shaking her head.
"Maybe there's something even bigger going on. Something bigger hanging around... There aren't many Pokemon capable of doing something like that."
And then the tear gas came. Oyumi's reaction was quick. She grabbed the top of her tunic and quickly tugged it loose and pulled it over her face. One hand went out to grab Rhia's arm as she sprinted out of the way, tugging the girl along with her.
Crap. This was not looking good.

@Mist & Anyone Bandit wriggled and popped out of his pokeball. he squeaked with glee, waving over at newly caught pokemon then the tear gas hit. "ARG! Those dirty little," Lisa cried as she was nearly hit whilst running away. Midnight howled with anger as she was herded away by TG. She was half tempted to burn the inn down at this point, regardless of who or what was still inside. Lisa was also riled up, but much more restrained about it. "At least we got that one eevee out of there, but I just can't stand letting them go!

Danny felt like a fool being so helpless. He and Belle ran from the gas and he still had nothing he could do against the electric field or the tear gas.

Alexa saw the canister come flying out of the Inn and heard Luna's cry too. "Oh crap!" She quickly moved away out of the vicinity of the tear gas. Her pokeballs rumbled and out popped Vincent, Apolla, and Stribog. They all stayed close to her protectively. She looked around and saw that Mina and her ponyta had followed. "I don't think any of mine know any moves that could help. A good gust would be nice right now."

BlackPidgeot Nikki smirked as she watched the shield come up, protecting them from the trainers.
However, they could do more than just sit there! Pulling out a canister, she pulled the pin with her teeth and tossed it out into the mob of trainers.
"Ha! Take that!" She shouted, tear gas immediately erupting from the can and flooding the general area in which it landed.
"That's," she coughed, "playing dirty!" A simple, yet blatantly obvious adjective.

Nerezza rushed over to Opal and covered her trainer's face with her body's gases. Opal coughed a bit, but she was used to it and it was certainly better than the noxious gas the Rockets put out. Itzal shielded his eyes and Nerezza closed her eyes shut. Ursalyn was put back into her Pokeball.
