"Arturo says making the saber will be easy; he's not certain about if he can pump your stored mana into it while forging it, but he says he has an idea. He'll need a forge and equipment, though, and we'll probably perform four or five test blades before we attempt the final product," Linda replied after a mental conversation.
"We can provide that," Alan informed them.

"When can we get started?" He looked to both Linda and Josh, whoever answered first.

"We'll start as soon as we have the time we need," Josh answered with a shrug.

"I think we're done here," Alan commented. "Paul, Athena." Paul handed his rifle to Alan, who dropped it in his shadow. They left through a shadow door, arriving in an empty, metal room.

"Welcome," Josh announced, "To Xanadu-three, our primary Asian base, located seven miles beneath the Forbidden City in China. A wall melted and formed into a door, which opened to let them through. They stepped out onto a catwalk surrounding what appeared to be an entire underground city with a dome overhead. Squat structures of plaster and metal sprawled across the expanse beneath ceiling-mounted lighting. Towards the dome's center, the buildings grew taller. "Buildings mostly grow down instead of up here," Josh informed them. "Some are hundreds of levels deep."
"In a piece of what is, if I do say so myself, epic thaumaturgy, I devised a lock on all Shadow Magic inside this dome; it's impossible to teleport in except through checkpoints like those you saw," Alan informed them, indicating symbols sprawling across the dome's interior.

Paul scratched at his stubble. "Are there razors, showers, fingernail clippers, shavers for the head, and clothing stores down here?" he asked. Obviously he assumed so, but...
Fyrin stared around. "I had heard of this place, but... by my lord, I would never have guessed it was so... big," he whispered, a bit like a kid in a candy shop.
