Fang saw that look, and gave one back. one of those 'keep relatives out of this and it wouldn't happen' kind of looks. after all, how would he know that they were related. but the hrose was getting his attention, and the dragoness.

"you're already about five minutes from useless with all your struggling."

before noting the nightmare, and it's apparent intelligence. why not try talking to it.

"you aren't helping either. keep it up, horse, and I'll be more then happy to make sure she doesn't survive past five minutes."

Before his ship rocked...the dragon was gone. How in the hell...before noting cannons on the back of the Chimera, and the glider from the Claw. a frown set in his features.

"Full stop! get down below and make sure that our powder is well out of range of anything out here."

Cussing under his breath.

"I swear that minx has more lives than any cat on these sands."

"Depends on your definition of trumping." But the blue light blinked a few times as he hovered there. "Thoroughly confused now, thanks Areesa." But it wasn't like he wasn't paying attention to the scene and his light dimmed for a moment to signal frequency change to that personal link he had with the young Commander. "Kaznec, Bell."

A blink at his uncle words, though they weren't enough to make him stop. He might not be sure why his uncle was doing this to him but he knew it hurt and he knew it wasn't good, thus that draconic instinct was in place and he kept struggling until he no longer needed to... Another blink of confusion but he didn't have much time to act on those issues as Xeke's low hum made its way into his mind, loud and clear. Somehow it had become second nature to him to pick up key personality quirks of people. In Xeke's case, it was that he never spoke his entire name unless it was important. Jae did that too... Jae. Leaping into the air once again and ignoring the stinging that wind blowing over wounds caused, he searched for her white form. The situation pretty much screamed bad, but he was too big to land on the ship himself without risking getting cramped and caged himself. Letting the strange fire horse continue its actions then, he occupied himself with throwing anyone that got too close off the side of the ship. Seemed like things were getting messy aboard the Serpent as well though. Good, that would keep Fang occupied and perhaps save his life too.

She was a common everyday rat, scampering about on the ship and moving under doorways and in the little holes that no one noticed or thought to close up. While she'd never seen a rat on the Claw or Chimera, she had a feeling the Serpent had a few. A few more minor doorways and she was moving between bedding before- AHA! "Caden aim for the spot just below his figurehead. That's where his supply is. Do not hit it until everyone on our side is off the ship!"

Glaring at Fang for a moment, she trampled a few more of the ropes keeping her bound and then took off for Fang, using her magic to reappear over him in the face of an instant and slamming her hooves down on his head and shoulders, her entire body aflame now with her anger.

He was thrilled it didn't take him forever to convince her the best route to take to salvage as much of her ship as possible from this mess and he ran with her, grabbing the glider and heading off. "We will, Gem! We'll come back for her and restore her to her former glory. She'll always be yours." The glider landed about twenty yards from the Chimera who was quickly moving in another direction entirely. He tumbled to the sand and was up in a jiffy, jerking Gem up as well and glancing at Fang's ship. "Oh no he doesn't...run!"

He growled at his lesser and rolled his eyes. He didn't appreciate being called a moron but there was nothing he could do about the dragons flying. Watching them terrorize the ships and actually get semi-violent with claws and teeth, he shook his head. "I don't think so. Something else did it." Reigning in his own mount and lashing his tail against the ground. "Well, now we need those other females more than ever. Hopefully no more will leave. If they survive, they'll come back for food. If not, we'll have to replace them but that takes time. "Make sure the others are tied tight enough so they can't escape. We can't afford anymore losses."

"Well, I can only tell you what's happening when it's happening." Huffy tone there. But she shut up again as Xeke was communicating with Kaznec and she was passing information along to Eilynne. "Lynnie's found the powder bay! Get Bellah off the ship before it blows!"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 29, 2008 11:52 pm

"Squabbling does not Help." Bobbing a little bit more then. "Winds are changing." Another change in color much like the others did when in communication with who they were attached to.

A little stumbling at the rocking before losing her footing as the boat was forced into a rather abrubt stop...apparently there were no gradual stopping when it came to Fang's ship. Jolt was just enough to strain rigging and a bit of further pulling from her snapped them and sent her rolling and dropping from the missing section of deck and railing....with a puff of silver mist tha signaled a form shift. Wait...why did that just happen? A cringe at a pain in her side that she thought came from the fall and a look down...did one of those pirates get her instead? What the hell was that on her?!

Pupils narrowed to slits and slightly elongated canines sharped along with fingernails and her survival instincts kicked in for her neutral form, seeing as change wouldn't come. Taking hold of the squid like thing, she ripped it off not caring that it's barbs took snatches of flesh and left bleeding gashes. Throwing the thing to the sand, she tried to push herself up...why did it feel like all her strength was gone all of a sudden. And why in the damn middle of the battlefield? Newfound instinct from markings dictated her reaction, where once she would attempt to do for herself she didn't hesitate. "Kaznec!"

It was probably stupid to run through the desert with no supplies at all other than a backpack full of a few trinkets and maps but right now she didn't care. She just knew she was upset from leaving her ship but as Thobias tugged her up the two took to making tracks in the sand, running fast as adrenaline fueled legs could take them. Hey, if they couldn't get to the Chimera behind them it was best just to run through the sand...could at least hide in it if needed. It was hard to not be a woman and be upset at a time like this when she was abadoning her home and her crew. Hopefully they were at least hard at work on the Chimera already.

Okay, she was sick of this. After having sufficently tied the little blue dragon to a support beam, she felt her way up to the topdeck where all the commotion and cannon fire hurt her ears but it was time to stop all of this...her patience had run out. A whistle got her own nightmare and she mounted up, taking to the sky. Though she didn't join the fray, merely pulled a pouch from her robes, opening it and green fire flared around it before she tossed it to the wind, bone dust spilling into the air before reforming into the impressive specimen of dragon she had acquired earlier...hands lit up and she made a motion with them as the skeletal creature gave a preternatural roar even without it's lungs. Hopefully she could have just enough control. "Alright...enough." Thusly sending her own dragon into the mix...and this one didn't have a pain threshhold and knew only to attack anything in that general area.

He rolled his eyes....he should of known that the boy would of gone after the white when he could...his scent was plastered all over her after all. Which only complicated things...and damn himself for caring. Damn Lycear...he wouldn't blame his sister. But it seemed that things were quickly going south and he backed off himself...he wasn't going to get caught in Fang's failure. It was looking even worse as a dragon entirely of bone that was his size even took to trapping the ship down in the sand. He growled...it had all gone south...well...at least they'd more or less sunk one ship. Shaking his head he turned tail in the sand, looking to his nephew as he passed. "Grab that girl and get out of here." Heading to where he left Des and getting her up on his back again, heading off once more. This had all been seriously underestimated.

He went about tightening up restraints and watching the others. "Why not the white one too? You don't seem to care about her. Is she one of ours?" Looked like it, but he merely watched with his companions as things were going south for almost everyone involved in that little fiery fray. He sighed. "It would be best to either hit them right after they clear the agressing ship...or trail them and get them when they are forced to stop for supply and repair.

When fang's ship stopped dead in the sands, Hunter stopped Caden from firing.

"Not now. let him be for now. lets first get Des and gem and thobias safe on the Chimera. then if we need to we can blow the Serpent all to hell. but our people first. this is one of those 'honor among thieves' moments if you will."

glancing at the necromancer, and looking at the skeletal thing..

"Are you sure you can control that thing?!"

Fang saw the shadow, and ducked down, taking a few searing shots in the back that knocked him down, but he had a mission in mind. he scrambled across the deck...and grabbed ahold of Bell, one arm around her neck, has hand gripping under her jaw, his other hand putting his pistol at the base of her spine angled up so it's blow a nice hole through her middle.

His eyes focused on Kanzec, and angled a bit to keep the Nightmare in his sights. Bell wouldn't be able to fight him off, not now.

"Alright...you lot just calm down and back yourselves off. My ship is more important then some wenches life. You leave my ship, go back to your hiding holes. especially you dragons, or the lady here isn't going home."

looking about, and noting the skeletal thing out there as wall.

"My ship for her life. We have an accord, Red boy?"

Before noting Caden's cannons..and back to the red.

"and keep those cannons from firing..wait a moment. yer no wild boy or merc...I know you now. Commander Kanzec, isn't it? That's one of yer boys on the Chimera. So, commander...how much is the white lass worth to ye? worth sparing my ship? cause if she ain't, then I see no use in keeping her around."

"In more ways than one apparently." And cue the flare of blue light again as the Seon watched things progressed in a less than pleasant direction. "Tell Eilynne to stop, the situation has changed. They won't be able to get out fast enough."

Indeed, winds had shifted... His name called in that urgent way had his attention narrowing down to a single focus and he was at her side in an instant, but apparently not fast enough. In a way the soldier in him had anticipated it, but it still stunned him for a moment and he changed forms immediately, landing on the deck before Fang. The sight of her scratched up and bleeding form made his insides twist but golden eyes focused on the captain instead. Making deals with a pirate wasn't wise... If anything, the moment they left him, he would start after them again or perhaps summon forth allies to help. The Riders weren't gone yet, they were being cautious but only for so long. The Claw had already been abandoned and the Chimera had suffered significant damage as well. He couldn't account for his uncle or the supernatural dragon skeleton that seemed to be moving with a life of its own... nor had he heard anything from Xeke or the Laerethe... but he was not letting Jae be held hostage. Or worse.

Jaw clenching as his heart raced, he considered his limited options and nodded. Closing his eyes for a moment, he sent a message to Xeke and then matched Fang's steady gaze once again. "Agreed. You and your ship will be spared for now but consider this a warning of what we can and are willing to do. I stop the assault, you do the same." A proclaimed truce with a dangerous pirate... He wasn't sure how well this was going to work but he had no other choice. "If you need collateral for this pact, then I will stay. But let her go."

Moving through Areesa once, he relayed the message to her as well and then zipped his way over to Caden, pulsing in mild agitation to perhaps reflect his master's own. "Hold all fire." Then to Hunter. "Change of plans. The commander has ordered a ceasefire, to be obeyed by all. Take advantage of this, retrieve the other captain and the crew and move away from here. Resupply, repair, whatever you need to do. The Riders are still about, stay alert."

She was apprised of the changing situation through Areesa and Rahsaveer. Transforming, she popped up on deck back in dragon form and stood there just watching. Her tail swiped a few of the pirates who were working on moving towards her and she watched Kaznec carefully. He would offer himself in Jae's place...that was the result of the marking ceremony. She watched the deal being made and shook her head, calling Spyrit off and sending her back to the Chimera. "Agree carefully, commander. Your life is just as valuable as hers." She released her control over the Rider's mounts, sending them back to where they'd come from. Her petition to the Goddess to unleash power on Fang had been denied and there was nothing more she could do.

"If she was one of ours, she escaped and is now marked. You know the rituals and regulations." He watched all ships come to a halt, one being abandoned and his dragons coming back, landing and chattering to each other as if nothing had even happened. "Something's controlling them and I want to know what it is. Tether them back up and we'll reevaluate. Perhaps those pirates could benefit from a visit..."

They were far enough away that they had no idea what was going on on board the Chimera or Serpent. Thobias wasn't about to leave Gem alone in the sands and stop. He tugged her on, heading further and further away. Hunter could easily come and pick them up once things settled down.

A slight grin, glancing at Bell, and whispering in her ear.

"this is why women have no place in the sands. they make men weak."

before a look over at Eilynne..how in the sands did she get on his ships and come from under it. Of course she was covered by gun bearing crew, though non bothered to try and shoot her. they were under orders after all. truce being all but accepted.

"I would think that a commander would be able to keep his word without collateral. besides, you're useless to me. too dangerous to sell you to Riders, and you've no power save in your city and the Chimera that you've obviously hired as help. Unless I could barter you to Black for something of value. You think you'd be worth something to him?"

Keeping Bell for just a moment longer, just to see what Kanzec would say on that. might be valuable, but if not, he could just get these dragons off his ship and then meet and greet his Rider allies. that thing...they had to know something about it. it certainly wasn't the dragon it first appeared to be.

"already ahead of you. we're heading toward them now, and Des. shooting the gunpowder would get kanzec, bell, and maybe that star pest killed. there's no way they'd clear the blast standing in neutral form on the deck."

glancing at the ball of light.

"you got a name, since you can speak...whatever you are?"

Sylin floated into Areesa, flaring their colors orange for a moment. "Time to go. Worry Not. There are Eyes in our Backs." Clrealy it wasn't talking about Seons themselves, seeing as they lacked bodies.

A growl worked from her throat despite his hold on her and she put up what fight she had in her but it seemed that even her survival rage wasn't enough to break through this sudden bout of weakness. It was an ill deal that was for sure. Too easy for Fang to turn around and double cross them. However there was either sense in the pirate or he had realized something...which meant back off and study to learn and conquer to try again later, or that he knew he was outmatched by something. A hiss though as he whispered to her and if that tail had the strength she probably would of whipped it to the side to break his ankles. Later when things had calmed down she'd be angry with herself. Why did it seem she was always the trouble?

Savryn grinned. "A little. So you might want to make tracks before I lose said control." Her own dragon stood sentry at the bow of Fang's ship, merely holding it where it was as she listened to the dealings going on. That meant she was going to have to call off her own too....but if her father taught her anything it was never move on a deal first when it was clear you had the advantage.

Just keep running, just keep running, had to keep going. "If I ever see that b*****d of a sand going worn again I'm going to make him pay for this!" She was just angry at the moment over the loss of her ship...and frankly she dreaded when it was going to fully sink into her later that it was only a maybe that the ship could be recovered.

Sae paused in the sands, shifting his shoulder to move Des into somewhat more comfortable position between his wings. Watching as the Chimera gained distance but the other dragons seemed to be holding a bartering session on the deck.

He rolled his eyes. "Excuse my lack of being able to smell such things that you dragons can. To me she looks like an avaliable female and that's all." Shaking his head light and moving off to secure mounts, distributing kicks and the like to quiet them down. "You think they're going to let you just walk up all friendly like?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 8:06 pm

Well Caden was having a good time for a change, he didn't know that firing a cannon could be so much fun. Though he grinned happily when Savvy got into the mix and brought out the dragon she acquired awhile back. They could use all they help and weird creatures they could get. Though it was sad to see the Gem done in and the crew had to abandon it, it gave the guardian more reason to keep on firing since they lost such a lovely ship. But when Eilynne told him the exact place to fire when the ship was cleared he got ready with the help of the crew around him, but it seemed that things went down south as Xeke, Eilynne and Hunter himself told him to stand down. "Honor among thieves? I'm surprised that's still around. Still Fang doesn't count he's not even human from what I've heard. He deserves to be blasted off this plane." With a light sigh he lowered the torch he was holding onto as he glared at Fang when the man looked at him, he still kept the torch lit just in case they had an opening to blow the ship to hell.

Eilynne's voice sounded in his mind again but he knew it was too late to take anything back. "If I mean nothing to you, then neither would my words. And yet, you go to such lengths to make sure I call off all attacks. Either you're so desperate to salvage your ship that you are willing to risk me betraying the pact, or you think that I'm so naive I would trust in a pirate's word as well." His eyes narrowed though and he turned his gaze momentarily over to the black shadowy form in the distance. "Hardly." But he wasn't going to start discussing personal issues with the pirate. "This agreement is based on mutual distrust, Fang. I've given you what you wanted, now let her go."

"Xeke. But not everything that can speak must have a name and not everything that has a name can speak." Another pulse of affirmation before sending another message to his master.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 11:42 pm

Fang chuckled lightly.

"Mutual distrust. alright..take your woman, and leave my ship. I have repairs to tend to thanks to you."

pushing her over toward Kanzec, and pointing his gun toward Eilynne.

"And I'm going to find out what you are. and when I do, it's only a matter of time. you have a debt to pay."

Hunter gave a slight nod.

"Alright, Xeke. If you'd be willing..can you play messenger to those two running fools out there that we're coming and they can stop running long enough to pick them up?"

Des groaned lightly. oh her head. she was going to be needing something for migraines, she was sure...before putting a paw down..and scales. black scales..and she jumped back off of him, tumbling into the sand and getting dizzy.

"Where am I? why were you carrying me? were you trying lewd things or planning to sell me off? what's going on? how long have I been out?"

Then she got really dizzy and had to plop down.

"Oh my head..."

No one had witnessed her transformations, she'd made sure that all pirates on the Serpent believed she was just one of the dragons. Eilynne gave Fang a hard look and tossed her head. "Debt? I owe you nothing pirate, nor will you see anything from me. Take the Commander's advice and realize we could have blown you out of the sands. Tread carefully lest you lose what little leeway you have." Flapping her wings and taking to the sky then swooping back towards the Chimera.

He was really going to snap the human in half. "No, I don't. Which is why I'm going to employ a little more secretive means." Watching the dragons take to the air in various flight patterns and growling beneath his breath. One of them had something that could control his dragons and he wanted to know what it was. And why hadn't he felt the urge? Was it isolated? "Imagine if we could get our hands on something that would force those dragons to snap to attention when we used it. Training would become simpler..." Oh the ideas.

Spyrit, on her mistress' orders, left the ship once again and landed on the sands before Gem and Thobias, rearing and whinnying to get their attention. Why make them run when they could ride back? Calming once she had their attention and waiting for them to mount up.

He was right beside her, not giving up and certainly not stopping...at least until he saw the horse. Reaching out, he pulled Gem up short and gestured to the animal. "Doesn't that belong to one of the elves on the Chimera?"
PostPosted: Fri Feb 01, 2008 5:32 pm

Jae stumbled lightly as she was pushed forward and more or less into Kaznec was wasn't even jostled by the movement of her smacking into him. But the worst thing...was he on to Eilynne? If the Laerethe chose other forms in front of others, they may still be hiding from the general populace. For a moment she turned her face into Kaznec's chest before a look up at him. "I can't fly." Which sucked...this is why she shouldn't be allowed to go anywhere. She was starting to fear she knew the answer to why she was a target...adn that was an even more upsetting answer.

Savryn made sure the dragons were off the ship and the Chimera was on a good move again before she called back her own dragon....which gave her some guff but seemed to lose in some power struggled, poofing back to dust and sucking itself back into that pouch that returned to her pouch. "Well...that works for now." A click of her tongue to her own nightmare. "Come along then Cosmyk, let's head off."

She made a noise as he yanked her short of just meeting fiery hooves. "Fieryhorseyfeetofdoom!" Throwing up her hands in defensive measure before they both noted that it calmed down and seemed to be waiting for something. A blink and a look to her first mate. "Yes I think it does. Well...it doesn't look like it's going to eat us so....good horsey, nice horsey." Cautiously approaching and mounting, waiting for Thobias to do so before a blink. "Um....giddy up?"

He rolled his eyes. "Why do you always think I'm trying lewd or perversive things with you or the other females. I'm not Wild dragon in the traditional sense." He dropped his tail and snaked it through the sand and under the dragoness, lifting it under her chest to pry her up out of the sand where she plopped. "A few shots to the head you should be. Now come on and get up. Best to make tracks while Fang is letting you all."

A glint to his eyes and a smirk. "Hm...now there's an idea. Something that would even get the more noble lined dragons I assume...instinct that you can't get rid of no matter how much you've been civilized. I suppose then we're leaving them for now and regrouping then?"

"Because your male."

Letting the tail lift her up a bit and get back on her feet so to speak. shaking her head some to clear the extra cobwebs, glancing at Fang's ship and the Chimera.

"Okay. but I still don't trust your claws on me old man."

a slight snort and a staggering, drunk style walking that had to stop every now and again because her vision would blur or she'd get dizzy.

watching the one leave, before glancing at Commander Kanzec.

"I know better. that's no dragoness. but whatever that is, I'll find out, and I'll get even. Now I suggest you be on your way, before I change my mind and just decide to shoot you both."

The Chimera was coming close, close enough to hear Gem scream about flaming horse hooves of doom. oh he'd have to remember that, looking through his spyglass.

"we're almost on them. we'll pick them up, cover some ground, and lay anchor probably by nightfall. then if we're feeling up to it, see what's left of the Claw tomorrow."
