A smile made crow's feet appear around Wolf's eyes as his blood quickened at being in a dangerous battle. The blade of his katana glowed a faint white as he channeled his meager holy magic into it and slashed at the tendrils in front of him and on his right, his scarf moved on it's own lashing out at those on his left, the faint glimmering of the blade and chain hidden within it could be seen in the moonlight. Finally vines seemed to erupt from his back and become a blurring series of barbed whips in the space immediately behind him. Even with these efforts though several tendrils passed the guard on his left and gouged flesh from where his left arm rested against his side. Blood flowed in an oddly slow manner from the arm that had been amputated at the elbow.

*The tendrils swallowed what they could silently before going for more.The vines and scarf seemed to have no effect,passing through the shadow's as easilly as one would pass through a normal shadow.The holy energy on Wolf's blade also held no direct efect over the tendrils he slashed.However,they did seem to move away from the light his blade produced.The tendrils themselves were quite odd,becoming solid only when they'd assured a bite,then knocked away by Wolf's efforts. The light however effected them whether they were solid or not.The Master kept hidden,enjoying the work of his puppets.A few smaller ones leapt from a shadow near the girl,aiming to halt her regeneration by rending the flesh from her bones.The fireshield did nothing to the tendrils,the light produced by it wasn't very strong,and so they broke through with ease.*

*She looked around for anything that she could use to ad the wolf in his battle. The best she could do at this point would be to start a small fire and that wouldn't be the best for him. For now she turned and turned to move away quietly from the battle at hand.*

It burned to the touch. As she looked down at the tendrils she pulled a small rod from her hip that extended as she gabbed it at the first tendril.* For the love of Drace LEAVE ME ALONE!

As Wolf saw the effect of the light on the tentacles he made actually released his blade, allowing one of the vines from his back to hold it above his head as he spun and threw a hand full of red balls into the area around him. As the vines lashing out from his back hit each ball it would ignite in a flash of light and heat. There would now be a circle of fire, ten feet in diameter surrounding Wolf, and obliterating the shadows inside of it with it's flickering light. The vines would then retreat into Wolf's back once more and he would catch his sword even as the light faded from the runes on the blade.

*The shadow tendrils fell away from wolf with a shriek,only to reappear in a now more dense mass against the girl.The tendril hit by the rod snapped at her in defiance as many more rushed to meet her.Since wolf was protected by the larger fire.Half of the tendrils bit at the girl,the other half aimed to pull her into a pool of black forming beneath her.Essentially pulling her into the shadow realm where she'd most likely be helpless.Wolf's idea had indeed worked,but only in sending them after another target.*

Wolf had seen the girl use fire already so he decided there was nothing to be lost by his next move. He sent his earth magic along the ground between his fire and the girl, as it moved it dried the grass and the fire seemed to shoot out to envelop the girl. It ate the dried grass hungrily in it's path and left behind burning embers of blackness. In doing this Wolf had lost a fifth of the ring that surrounded him as it's sustanance was hugrily eaten and abandoned. His magic continued feeding the grass around the rest of the ring so that the fire's fuel remained steady.

*Seeing how the fire helped Wolf Serenity incased herself in fire. She knew the flames wouldn't hurt her as she worked to fight off the tendrils that bit at her flesh. She was tired but didn't give up the fight. As he tried to pull her into the shadow world it only made her fight that much harder to free herself.* You don't want to kill me!

*Once again the tendrils shied away from the firelight with a shriek.Though,the light couldn't reach under the girl where the pool of shadow still formed.It would become as air,hoping to have her fall in and be lost to the countless tendrils in the realm.Ones that would rip the flesh from her bones,then grind her bones to nothing.Since the shadow pool led to another place,it was almost like a hole in the earth,and Wolf's earth magics would have no effect on it.The girl's only chances of escape were few.*

A large seed pod formed in Wolf's right hand as he watched the pool beneath the girl remain unaffected by the light of the fire and smiled. It was time for one of his flash bangs. As the pod reached the size of a fist and a flower appeared on the end he threw it over the girl's head. The flower would slowly bloom as it moved through the air and as it completely bloomed over her head oxygen would rush down the hollow stem and contact the white phosphorus inside igniting the entire pod in a blinding flash and hollow bang that would cover the entire area in a brief blinding light. Wolf's scarf had already moved upward and over his eyes to shield them from the attack as his ears flattened to avoid deafness.

*With the fire and oxygen all around her, her wounds and wings healed quickly. She took flight going straight up as she saw a chance to get away from the madness going on around her.* Thank you. *She said as she looked to Wolf with a smile knowing that she would have been dead long age if it wasn't for him.*

*The black pool was erased from the area,leaving the earth in a patch as it would have been.Nothing more was heard or seen of The Master for the rest of the morning.As the sun was starting to slowly find it's way about,he'd taken to using what last hours of darkness remained to feed on a city not far away.He'd be back however,that much could almost be felt in the air.*

Wolf sheathed his sword as the shadows were dispersed and with a smile at Serenity said simply Don't worry about it. Take care. As he finished speaking Wolf's body seemed to melt into that of a large black wolf once more and the ground seemed to rise to form his left paw. He began running immediately into the woods, he had to get back to his own home to continue the organization and training of his people. He was gone as soon as he reached the edge of the forest.

*Hours passed as she jumped down to the ground and walked into the dojo. She was almost cared to walk in. Everyone seemed to have icy powers of some type and at lest one of those people were now trying to kill her.* Fire then earth and void will quckly follow... just remember that. sweatdrop
