"Well I kinda figured that," Owle replied when Jean started talking about their origins. "Not many people on Gaia are actually from...he made you?" Owle stared at Jean, completely mindboggled. When she noticed Jean was staring at Knights, she shifted her gaze to look at him, too.
"So...Sunstrike is eating magic, and the fact that he's eating magic is calling the attention of nasties we don't want anywhere near us. Am I right?"
Why is Sunstrike eating magic?
Wait...he wants to be what he was again...he's trying to become a god?
Have to stop that.
Owle didn't look away when Jean told her to. If anything, she focused even more on Kinights and what he was doing. She brought up a hand to cover her mouth when he committed apparent suicide for any human; that was unexpected. But from what Jean said he'd be alright. He would be...right? Owle watched intently, waiting for him to move again, give some sign he was going to live through that.
"Just...what is he doing?"

"Eh? Oh, he's making a portal."
There was a few minutes awkward silence, to the point where even Jean took a step forwards to see if Knights was okay, when something shot out of the ground in a flash of green sparks. The girl moved back, dragging Owle with her, unconsciously as what appeared to be, well...it was either a really bendy tree, or an absolutely enourmous vine snapping and twisting around the form of Knights.
Green lines of magic attached themselves from the end of the blade, sticking out of his back, all the way up to key points along the rapidly forming arch.
When it was done, the sun highlighted all along the chesnut weavings of what appeared to be a gateway.
Knights heaved himself off the blade with a wince, the sickening sound of bones and flesh reforming with cracking and sucking sounds, as he walked towards the girls.
"Finished, s'your turn Jean." He looked at them calmly, as if he hadn't just completely impaled himself.

"A portal to where?" Owle asked immediately. And what have I got to do with all this?
Her feet willingly fled backwards when Jean tugged her away from Knights' body as tendrils of magic leapt from the earth, twisting and turning in what seemed to Owle some sort of mad dance. In the end, though, it turned into a proper shape, and Owle was left staring speechless at Knights as he walked towards them, flesh re-knitting, like some kind of zombie outta a cheesy horror film that just won't die.

Knights noticed the look, and rubbed his chest absently, which was now turning into a rapidly fading bruise.
"You don't really serve a god like ours, and expect to be able to die easily..." Was the only explination from him. Jean followed up though.
"Deity is rather tempermental....emphasis on mental." She said it as though every god was like this. She was probably right. "There are ways to get around death, if you know the right spells, 50/50 said that Knights would make it."
Knights growled. "You've got to give me better odds then that, I don't forget everything you know..."
"If it had been more then that, your clothes would have repaired too...and you wouldn't have needed me to finish it off." He fell silent at her reproach, giving her the point for the moment.
"So are we gonna step through? Or are we gonna wait." Knights brushed a hand through his hair and looked at the doorway.
"Once it's open there won't be a lot that can get through, magic here is hard to get a grip on."
"It'll be enough, heck, things have receeded enough, we might even be able to touch the shores for the moment..."
"So we'll wait, and answer some of Owle's questions...cause, we kind of kidnaped her and it'd be wrong not to answer a few, I guess..."
They both looked at the winged girl, as if expecting a torrent.

"...emphasis on the mental."
Owle found herself nodding in agreement. She'd known enough gods, and that's what they were like.
50/50 odds? He'd risked his life to make that thing? Well, whatever was going on, it had to be important to him...Of course, he's trying to save someone he loves.
She tore her eyes away from the bruise on Knights' chest, back up to their faces.
"What's going on?"
She blurted it out, then stopped, and immediately added. "I mean, I guess you explained that pretty well...the gist of it, anyway, about Sunstrike. But why am I here? Why are you opening a portal and where does it go? What do you want from me?"
She was willing to help, but...she was feeling just a tiny bit lost here. Even having once been a goddess herself, she had no idea what she could do to help them.

Owle would find a finger pointing towards her nose, mere inches away, in fact. Knights was serious, suddenly.
"You here...gives brainiac back at Lucinds motivation to get here a little quicker...."
Arms suddenly wrapped around Owles shoulders as Jean hugged her back, face nuzzling up to the blue haired girls ear.
"AND you being part of the spell, gets him motivated to get there."
The finger touched Owles forehead, while a smaller hand placed something within her collar bone.
She would feel a jolt, though it wouldn't be a painful one, just of things connecting and meshing with her mind.
"S'always good to have someone NICE as the central focus of these things. That's what Henry says anyway...Sunstrike always HATED that part."
She would find it hard to move from her location, and the snakes would find themselves stretched thin, but unbroken. Jean actually twanged one as she moved towards the door, Knights staying with the girl and still rubbing his chest.

And the minute Jean spoke, Owle dissolved into black viscous liquid, shrinking down far too quickly for either of them to catch. The black cat that formed out of it was considerably lower than Owle's forehead or her collarbone, nimbly evading whatever the hell they'd intended to do.
It skipped off a little ways, about ten feet or so, skittering away from the portal. Then it reformed into a very angry Owle.
"You ever heard of asking?" she shouted at them, her muscles tensed in anger. She folded her arms across her chest, light brown eyes glaring at the pair. "I'm perfectly willing to help you two out - I owe Sunstrike a favor, anyways. But dammit, you're going to ask and explain before doing any weird mumbo jumbo to me!"
Today was not turning out to be one of Owle's better days.

For all intents and purposes, he exploded out the Cafe's front door's bursting right into the bustling streets and toppling several people over.
Angry shouts and a few yelps sounded out as he regained his bearings, and was looked from left to right wildly.
"OWLE!" Of course it was kind of futile. She could be anywhere...!
His fist clenched even as his eyes shut. Have to be.... He didn't know what he was looking for or what he was trying to feel... but... there was..
His eyes opened and his right eye seemed to have a darker haze about it. Switching to first person view, nothing but body heat could be seen now... then lingering pheremone trails... body signatures from over hundreds of people... but each one was specific.. and he only had to tune into the one that he recognized the most....

Knights folded his arms and looked at her.
"We did ask, we just didn't wait for the answer. Give us a little credit for being stressed for time, okay, sheesh." He tapped the side of his head in thought.
"Besides, it's not like we could totally explain anyway. I did the hard part, all thats left is stabilizing it to something firmly rooted at this point. Then Jean crosses with whoever and stabilizes it at THAT point. Easy enough for you? Or should I get my crayons out?"
Jean twitched at the sarchasm that just flowed, but remained silent for the most part.

"...alright," Owle said finally, stepping forward again. It sounded simple enough. "So I just have to stand here while you open a portal, and then Vahn goes through, and then...that's it?"
She sighed, letting the tension flow back out of her body. Her arms dropped to her sides once more.
The woman crossed the sand back to Knights and Jean, looking determined or possibly just annoyed. "Hurry it up, then."
She stood there expectantly, then blinked and looked up at Knights as a thought occurred to her. "You want me to tell him to get over here? He didn't exactly see us leave, you know."

"--Out of the WAY!!"
His voice rose to a distant shout, even as smoke and debris went flying backwards, along with several Shields.
"Uwwoouh!"
"Auugh--!"
The officers landed on the ground, even as Vahn emerged from the newly opened section, flamberge in hand. His entire right arm was smoking, and the length of his blade was red hot.
He'd taken more than a direct route in following Owle's body heat signature, and finally made it to the beach.

"No, somehow I think he'll manage, he wouldn't have lived this long if he was completely hopeless." Knights advanced on Owle, but paused before her.
Suddenly she'd have a view of the top of his head as he dropped down to one knee, glaring at the ground.
"Say what you really feel. If you don't want to do it, that's fine, we just needed someone powerful and have been stressed for time. Assumptions may have been made but they were based on good reasons. This isn't an excuse, its an explination. The gate will use and recycle the energy of your magic to keep itself open so any travellers can get to and back safely, but you don't have to stay here to do that."
Jean also joined him on bended knee in front of the woman.
"We are desperate for help, but we will take the time to ask you properly now to help us, though it's stressful for you. Please."
Vahn had made it to the beach, and the two were simply waiting for the reply.

::The fist flew, as Shouyin ducked, and then turned and bent upwards. As if preparing for something. It seemed even as Shouyin moved to counter, the clone was reacting. As if he could see what he was doing.
As opposed to the normal pop of a bone snapping, Shouyin would feel a crunch as the knee bent in entirely the wrong direction. It was like breaking through very thick wood.
Under its own wieght the leg snapped further and buckled, yet where normally an opponent would be undergoing and extreme amount of pain and shock, and falling back, this clone seemed prepared. As he fell, his opposing leg slide out a bit farther to the side to help him maintain balance as his brought his punching arm straight down aiming to deliver a fierce elbow to Shouyins skull, using his fall to add strength to his swing.::

"Do it," Owle said, without hesitation. She had cost them enough time, and while she may have been right to get annoyed she didn't plan on inconveniencing them any more. She really did like Jean, and Knights had saved her from a nasty burn even when it cost him a lot of pain.
Besides, she owed Sunstrike a favor, and a big one. She couldn't know that in the future the two of them would become friends, she couldn't know the circumstances that had brought him to his current plight. But she knew he'd been a nice guy, and she knew that she'd wronged him terribly...besides, she knew what it was like to be without memories, to have been a god and have that past catching up to you.
In five words, she genuinely wanted to help.
"Get up, get up," she urged them, waving her hands about to exaggerate her words. "This is silly."
She was smiling, though...their display had touched her, in a way she hadn't expected. If there'd been any annoyance left in her, any last trace of anger, it had vanished at their simple gesture. "If you don't hurry Vahn'll be here before you even get..."
And then she felt it. Out of the corner of her mind's eye, Vahn's blazing mental signature had come into view. "Well, speak of the devil."

The leg went from >, to <, and Shouyin had been betting on something like that happening after all that experience with the initial fragile-like clones, though this one was obviously tougher. Sadly all bent over and to his opponent's right like that, Shouyin had no chance of seeing this shift from punch to elbow, nor any other strike for that matter, and that'd be his saviour.
Simple boxer's technique: in and out. You moved in, struck, and got out of the way before the other guy caught you in your blind spot. Guy throws a heavy-handed right, circles around counter-clockwise to his left and backs out of the way before he gets an unseen left hook in the face, which is exactly what Shouyin would do. As such, the elbow would drop roughly against his left shoulder, the half-golem's head already out of the way as he moved on the circle directly to the clone's right.
'Course that smarted like a b***h, but at least he wasn't unconscious-- and the other guy was on the ground.
OOC: How close are Shou and the Shadows to Owle, Vahn and all them? Just 'cause, I'm reading a whole lot of 'beach' 'n whatnot, and a big fight like this would probably 'cause a bit of panic amongst the locals, which crazy psychics like Owle might notice and I just want you guys to pay attention to me.
