Mister Richards noted, sent the one at the helm up the crow's nest after sliding down a rope enough to lean burns and took the helm, singaling for more speed on the sails..before calling down for Hunter.
"We got trouble, captain, I suggest you get up here!"
Which got Hunter's attention, and he took Savvy by the arm, and and lightly moved her out of the way.
"At least don't say anything until I have time to try and buy your silence. which isn't right now apparently."
and he got up, looking for Des, who wasn't around.
"Where is Des?"
"At the Claw, taking with the other star child. apparently the other one went dragon bait for us, and just got brought down by a water bronze."
"damn it to the depths. tell Des she has leave to go. but we make sure she's safe. anything looks bad, we get her, and get the hell out of dodge. I'll take the helm, you get this ship flying on the sands."
Des shook her head lightly when she got brought down, and frowned.
"Sidequests be damned. I won't see another dragon put under the yoke if I can do something about it, even if it's not her natural form."
And she jumped off, gliding to teh skies and shifting to her natural state midflight, her bronze scales glittering brightly and her red eyes determined. her acidic breath weapon should be more than enough to discourage roping...but that other male might prove a problem.
She let out a roar all her own, a defiant, challenging one. like someone had ventured into her territory and she was not happy about it.
Fang heard it, and watched from his spyglass.
"Put on some speed. break out the sweeps. everything is going perfect. as long as they keep them distracted...we'll be too close for it to matter in ten minutes if they see us."
snapping the spyglass closed, and tossing it to his first mate.
"ready all guns, set your sights first on the Claw in her fog bank. stall her out, and the Chimera loses cover and might as well have a target painted on her hull. I want the Claw first though boys. maybe we'll save her captain for other enjoyments if you lads prove you mettle."
that got some sneers and snickers from his crew, and they started to put on some speed. the chimera and the claw were up against the anvil..and fang's hammer was coming down swiftly.

"Sky's not as much fun 'cause she's always trying to learn rather than play. She's really fuzzy with Kazzy, too." Lack of baby dragons was alright with her, actually. She really wanted to see Bellah and Kazzy recognize and become happy with each other and she'd be content to only tease them about sex every once in a while. She blinked back in response. "I know but I didn't wanna upset anyone. She hasn't called for me yet, either..." Flitting in more nervous zigzag spirals now as she waited for instructions from her mistress. "Don't think she's hurt, do you, Xeke?"
Rahsaveer sighed but let the other dragon go. Sending a quick message to Eilynne to warn her that things were about to get mucky, he leaned back and sent out more cloud cover to surround the ships, sensing another enemy in their midst. "It's times like these I really wish I had learned one of those forbidden words..."
He had already moved before the command was even issued, all free eyes glued to the spectacle of the two dragons before their own ally was down and captured and then Des leaped out like an avenging angel. "Double bait and we're going to have a fight. And it's not going to be a fair one either."
Oh yes, he was ready and raring to go. Watching for the moment the collar was snapped around her neck and activated, he pounced on top of her and dominated her easily enough, using his girth and strength to keep her down until all the fight went out of her. He absolutely loved this part, loved feeling his newest conquest's efforts become feebler and feebler until they died off completely. Momentarily distracted by the other dragon, he sent a smug look at the human and decided to let him handle her. This would be amusing.
She let out an answering roar to his challenge and then Des's as well, shaking her head wildly and attempting to shrug the bronze's weight off of her. He was heavy..and she was unable to use any of her magic and she couldn't pull off the higher powers that would get her out of the sticky situation. Her best bet was to wait for them to attempt to take things to the next level. She had to keep anything that might identify that she was not dragon from showing to the Riders. Part one of her sidequest completed. The Goddess would be happy.

She couldn't help but smile as he smiled, getting that handsome look he always did get when he was indeed smiling. It was rare and she was honored to be able to see such things. But then a blink, smile and slight tinge of pink to the scales under her eyes in blush as she got the meaning of his words. He'd been doing to her what she often covertly did to him...but he was upfront about it. "I wouldn't blame you...you don't visit thsoe caves as often as you used to." A little tilt of her head as he asked a question though that she was intimately familiar with. "Well...you don't smell like one particular thing. More of a mix. Leather, and embers mostly...with wind and a hint of steel." It was easy to explain why he did; what he wore, his element, his flights for restful pleasure and that sword of his as well as other weapons he was around. It was all common...but it was just so uniquely him.
Red popped up to mix with their colors. "Fussing in the Sands is made on Purpose now?" Yup there it was again, back for a visit that it had promised to make earlier in the journey the first time it was there. A blink of light at it seemed to notice how the two dragons were...and that plastering of ownership...well in a way. It wasn't quite complete. A blink to the two others in light intensity. "Married?" Clearly it was confused.
"They can play as they want, I don't are. My concern is getting out of her alive. I want full sail and I want everyone at their stations and they are not to leave them until I say otherwise."
Eyes turned to the second bronze that joined the sky...well that could help things out now couldn't it? After all, that provided him witness to a good deed. Oh it just got better and better. Folding wings he dropped down hard and fast, outstretching foreclaws in front of him as well as lowering his head. The impact of the two was audible as the black slammed into the male bronze, knocking him off what Saewelquin knew was the Laerethe. A roar and jet of black fire to ward him farther off.
And that was bad. "Oh hell...not what we need. ANd it's that damn black too." He gave a whistle calling his own ranks to back off. That black was not one to be tangled with and he wasn't going to get half his men killed. There were better ways to get what they wanted...and it was even worse seeing as there was another bronze out. "We're having bad luck this month...."

He didn't see the logic behind hiding such things or rather, little experiments, from her. It hadn't even crossed his mind and indeed there was no reason for it to. If she was uncomfortable with anything he did, she would voice her concerns. More often than not though, she actually seemed impressed and interested in his little bouts of knowledge discovery. That's why he wasn't afraid to share them with her. Besides, this time it concerned her as well. "No, but I haven't forgotten my promise to go with you after we get back home." A little nod before watching her with earnest in golden eyes again. Well, those scents were very him and he looked pleased. Though his expression changed to an oddly amused one then as he realized something. "That makes sense... And now I guess you smell like that, and I smell like ice caves and fresh water." But then, the new blend of colored lights got his attention and he blinked, recognizing the third rune. "Sylin!" If the Seon was here, there had to be a reason. "Father... is he well?"
"Fuzzy. You should know that hardly anyone other than Eilynne and myself can understand you sometimes. But yes, it's because he has new knowledge to offer." But obviously not being the Laerethe's own Seon, he didn't feel the same anxiety as Areesa did at this point. "You know she has her ways and Rahsaveer is around. If she needs you, you'll know and so will I." He hovered around her in the meantime, humming in a lower frequency that would calm her down. Oh but wait... new runic wave patterns announced the other's presence to them. "Biologically speaking. Part of the plan, just like what's happening outside now is as well."

"S'okay. You and Lynnie are the important ones anyway. And hardly anyone ever understands Sylin, either," she added. The soothing waves Xeke was emitting were doing their job quite nicely, lulling her into a more hypnotic bouncing pattern rather than the spastic one she'd been using. Her rune brightened at the added contact and she darted inside Xeke as though her own words earlier had brought the Seon into their midst. Peeking out timidly, she bounced to her own spot, giving Xeke back his space. "Kinda. Lynnie wanted to keep 'em safe so she stuck them together almost permanently. But they won't be having pretty dragon babies which I think is sad. Don't you agree, Sylin?"
"Could go either way really. I have a feeling we're going to lose Hunter to this because of his hold on Des. He won't let her remain here, Gem. You know that and then we'll be one crew short and two elves and the Laerethe won't be pleased." But he left her side and began casting out orders, moving towards those who were at stations so that his shouting wouldn't attract unwarranted attention.
He roared as he was thrown off by a larger dragon and bared his fangs in challenge, ready to fight. "She's mine! Get your own." He recognized the dragon as well but was in no mood to play around. Taking to the air, he dive bombed the black, scratching and clawing furiously as his teeth gnashed. He knew he couldn't outmatch the black but his instincts and his place within the Riders wouldn't let him give up that easily. If the black was set on taking the girl, he'd have to corner the other one who was already pissed off.
She blinked as Kaznec's uncle joined the fray and frowned, even as she was now free of her weight. Tossing her head, she added her roar to the bunch and went after those on the ground, snapping and sending electricity crackling towards them. The dragon in her was pissed off and letting just about everyone know it. What are you doing?! It'd echo through the black's head whether he wanted it to or not. Rogue dragons loved a good tussle and that's exactly what was going on here.

This...whatever it was they were sharing at the moment...this connection between them in their own realization over things without actually touching at the moment was just so...right. It was going to be a shame to her that it was all just some...ploy for the plan of betterment at the time and would fade away. She'd just have to enjoy his lack of personal space issues and the like while she could. "You never do forget." Giving him another smile, "I can smell you all over me...but not so much me on you." Conversation cut short though as he was distracted by red.
"You will have to Explain that to me. Such things Should Not be used so Freely." Obviously Sylin's opinion was different on the matter or so it assumed. Then again it had been with Lycear for a long time. "Not Complete...bodes Ill." A pulse to Areesa then as it tried to spin another motive to it. "Son of Lycear is not ready for such things. Not until he Let's Go." Fluttering as if shaking it's head and it brightened as Kaz called the name it was given and immediately asked questions. "Happy to see me this time, Son of Lycear. Happy to see You am I as well. The Dark does not hold as much of you as before." Bobbing in the air in that purposeful slow way. "Well as Well can be when Things Fall Down." And here it went with the limited and cryptic information put out again. But then another blinking of light as if it realized something. "Obsidian Brother is about?" Hey, Seons were allowed to be curious too.
She kicked at the helm. "Blasted man! I know you're right about him and it's not pleasing. Ther dragoness can't just stay where she is...let us hope she is smart and knows not to get herself caught. Only thing we have against another dragon is our dragons...it will be complete disater if we have to resort to that. The idea is to avoid that." Bad day.
"Assuming Rider. I don't want her, but you can't have her either." He was quick despite his size and a roll in sand of clawing and what not wasn't going to bother him too much. He had the size advantage and used it to the fullest, grabbing the bronze by the throat with sharp fangs and throwing him down to the sand again. "You are letting your form get the better of you Laerethe. I'm old enough to know of you things and how you are affected.

Des slammed her weight into the Black son of a b***h. he wasn't about to get free pickings on the star child in dragon form, and kept herself right by Eilynne, snarling and whipping her tail about to anything that got overly close.
Des snapped at Eilynne in that definite 'get your a** back to the ships' motion. she was holding her ground, but she was outnumbered. both males together were more than she could handle, and the bronze was probably pushing her luck a bit.
Hunter looked out there, and shook his head lightly.
"Keep course for now, move to the outside of the claw..."
before a cannonball slammed into the hull of the ship.
"What the hell!?"
before looking toward the back, and over to the Claw.
"We got trouble!"
"Trouble is the least of it!"
raising his cutlass and pointing at the ships.
"Fire all guns! I want those ships dead and burning in the sand!"

He snapped back but knew when it was better to retreat and live another day than die over something that wasn't quite that important to begin with. He refused to skulk away though and glared at Desdemona. "If you were smart, woman, you'd not involve yourself in what does not concern you." Needless to say, he didn't have the manpower right now to bring both females in and with Blackie on the scene, his hand was a little short to be casting rash bets. Throwing his head back, he gave a roar of challenge to let them know he wasn't nearly done yet and retreated. "Say a word and I'll eat you right here and now. We'll retreat for now but attack in full haste later. And I want them both."
Watching the going ons, she sent a quick message to Rahsaveer who notified her of what was going on and she began making quick calculations. The Black knew who she was which told her that he probably knew she'd been listening in on his conversation with Jaebell as well. Desdemona, go back to your ship and assist your captain before he sinks into the sand of his own incompetence." So it wasn't really Hunter's fault but she was entitled to be pissy too and things were not going her way at all. Do not test me, Obsidian, I know what I do. What do you play at by attempting to gain me for yourself and then refusing the right verbally to the dragon you fought against?
Thobias cursed at Hunter's shout and he glanced through the fog and cursed again. "You lily livered schoolgirls! Why didn't you see him coming?!" Moving back over to Gem's side, he pushed her towards the deck stairs. "I don't suppose I can convince you to go below deck until this is over?"

He watched the other bronze retreat for now and turned his attention to Des who wasn't playing nice with him either. A growl at her and a whip of his tail at her to follow suit. "Don't be rash! I don't want either of you, I'm trying to help you!" Ugh, these people were always trying to ruin his fine tuned plans. Another look to the Laerethe, "I don't want to claim you in such ways. Get yourself up and get back to that ship. Help my nephew rather than trying to entice riders. The game is up." Watching retreating Riders for hte moment then looking to canonfire. "You have bigger problems." And thus it was his turn to pick where to interject...he could let Fang get them...or further his own image by helping out.
Canonfire was never good and she turned wide eyed to the calling, seeing flags through fog. "No!" She was off like a flash down the deck, knife in hand and cutting foggers from her railing. They added weight and weight was not a good thing. BUt a struggle against her first mate as he sought to push her below deck. "No! This is my ship and I am capatin of it! Toss what we don't need overboard and get this ship light as possible! Loot, supplies, weapons, I don't care just do it!"
He chuckled lightly but held up hands defensively and didn't say a word. "As you say, commander."

Desdemona snorted glancing at both the other dragons and looked back, and took herself toward the ships. how the hell had he snuck up on them without someone noticing someplace. but she put on speed, and aimed right for the Serpent, fully intent on ramming the ship. if nothing else it's slow her down.
Hunter looked at the Claw, and at his ship and turned the wheel, shoving his ship broadside.
"Open fire! Let's give the Claw some cover time to get herself to speed!"
Under des came cannonfire, even though Hunter knew his guns where out of range...they'd barely dent the Serpent. but anything to slow him down was a good thing.
Fang wasn't impressed with the Chimera's guns. he knew just as well as Hunter that the Chimera wasn't close enough to do any real damage to the Serpent. but the dragoness was a different story. Fang's eyes narrowed a bit as she came barreling forward, raising his hand and waiting. wait for it. wait till you see the slit of her eyes...then he lowered his hand and cannons went off in rapid succession, and Des dropped unconcious. not enough to kill her, but enough force that with her coming in, she couldn't dodge all the cannonfire.
"Go around her. we'll leave her for the Riders."

Green light flared for a moment but he stayed where he was, seemingly unruffled by all this. "No one can ever completely let go. Not even Lycear." But explanations would indeed be given later, if anything through that higher frequency that all Seons shared. Communication without words was so much more efficient. Apparently though, Xeke understood the red Seon to a certain degree and he bounced a little more in the air. "He comes and goes. I don't like it."
"I can smell, I'm just not sure where it's coming from. It's just there..." And it was pleasant, he knew that much. It was like one of those scents one would like to smell the moment they woke up from a restful sleep. But his attention was on his father's Seon now and he listened to it carefully, always trying to decipher Sylin's way with words. "The Dark... has found me again, I think. Father won't be pleased but eventually I will have questions to ask him." But he frowned then, meeting Jae's gaze for a moment as well. Sometimes, she could read Sylin better than he. Fall down? What things? The city...?! Concern harassed him again but the commotion outside could clearly be heard inside the hull now. The roars of more than one of his kind... the thundering sound of a fallen dragon... cannon fire... It made him tense, uneasy, and his tail flicked as he turned to his own Seon then, concern lowering his voice somewhat. "Xeke."
Silence followed for a moment and the blue light dimmed as if Xeke was zoning out on them... before a blink and he returned to full intensity, moving over to circle black horns. "Your uncle is here, fighting against the Riders with Eilynne though they seem to have retreated. Fang has also shown himself. The ships are under attack and... Desdemona has fallen." He waited for the red dragon to say something but when silence reigned for a moment, he blinked again, more solemnly this time. "Stop analyzing, Kaz. Do what you need to. Jae, you too."

Caden was scared s**t-less right now, that cannon ball that happened to have hit the ship? Well it zoom on right by him and struck two other crew members. A handful of inches and he would of gotten hit instead. So Caden stood there mouth wide open for a few minutes until someone came along asking for help up top. So he offered and suddenly Caden found himself in a fog as cannon fire could be heard in the distance. Asking to help with the rigging he went to work and saw Shyrae near by. "I guess this means we got no more use for those hand signals huh?" He joked as he went about his new job.

Glancing over to ensure Caden was doing what she had been taught, she nodded. "Yes, I suppose noise no longer matters. What does matter is our lack of cover now. Hand signals and such were to keep the Riders from recognizing our presence but now that hope is lost. If they attack together..."
Thobias cursed softly at her response and nodded. "Fine." He knew better than to ask but it was better to check. Turning, he cursed again as Des went down. Shouting orders to the men, he moved below decks and began ridding the ship of the heaviest of loot.
"Son of Lycear is ready to stop being so dense and be happy with Bellah even if they don't have pretty dragon babies," she retorted then joined Xeke topdeck to look around and began fluttering spastically again. "Blackie is up there flying around for some reason. What does that mean?" She bounced between Kaz and Jae, her rune brightening considerably. "Lynnie won't be happy if something happens to either of you so be careful."
That hardheaded fool! She had no time to play and even less options to pursue. Letting the Riders capture Desdemona was not an option but neither could she lift the dragon by herself. She and Des were about the same size and the wheels in that commander's head were turning. The spoils of battle were not to be denied. Turning to Sae, she snorted in his head. "If you wish me to help your nephew, take the female to the ship."
Ideas indeed. He stopped and turned, surveying the scene with darkened eyes. What humans caused to happen could not be blamed on him and he'd be able to clean up and claim both those dragons. "Watch them. I want to know everything that happens. The minute the battle is finished, we'll move in and catch them unawares when they're weak. There might even be valuables on the ship that we can use."

“Completely was not in the Words.” Sylin knew that he wouldn’t completely let go. It still saw days when Lycear let his thoughts get too immersed in the past and the grand dragon could barely stand it. But he always reminded himself that he had his son to turn to and remember, as well as to be strong for. Light flaring a little brighter then, “Used to Come And Go much. Just not Meeting Son of Lycear and Beloved Laricalu?” Flickering some with all the commotion going on now…it didn’t like the vibes at all. It’s attention and frequency changed briefly for Kaz’s sake to hear. “Dark will always find you, Son of Lycear. It is your Duty to Stand Before It and not Cower.”
It was too hard to not pay attention to all the noise going on outside. It was overwhelming and she watched Kaznec a moment as he seemed to be torn from staying put or doing something, especially as Xeke relayed what was happening outside. Amber eyes turned to Xeke and she nodded at the blue ball of light…she knew what it meant. Do what they needed to do…and sitting around wasn’t what they needed to do. They couldn’t hide away and hope for the best when they could help. “Right…we fight for our safety. No matter the danger. Our Code speaks highly of us and we’d do ill to let it down.” She had a few words in her from time to time and thusly she offered Kaznec a hand to get up. “I know it’s going to hurt you…but we have no choice. I can’t do much by myself…and you’re stronger than you think you are. Since when has a dragon’s worth been measured by anything other than his heart?” And this was why she was a strategist…she knew how to rally troops just as any high ranking leader. Eyes turned to Areesa and she gave a nod to the ball, “We’ll be careful. If we don’t win here then our entire cause is lost. What better motivation is that?”
Sylin cycled through a few intensities of red light. “Not Hopeless.” Well it didn’t think them completely anyway. But it zipped through both blue and yellow as if to get their attention before it started to flutter upward through deck flooring.
“I will not be gunned down by some pompus man who thinks he owns the sandseas.” Raising her hand in the air in a fist and shaking it, “You hear me Fang! Never!” Thusly onto trying to get more speed to her ship, deploying Wings and letting the sails get as much wind as they could. This was just bad. She grabbed one of her other high ups since Thobias as gone off and shook him. “Listen and listen good! Ready my longboats and I want everyone off this ship you got it? Thobias too! Drag him if you must! Go!” Shoving him away and again to the helm with her. She knew Fang wanted her…there was no need to sacrifice her crew for that.
He growled and shook his head…this was blowing up into something he was losing control on and he didn’t like it. Nodding to the Laerethe’s command, though purely for show really, he sprinted over to Des and nosed under her to get her up along his back between his wings, easy enough for him. A jet of black flame along the sand beside Fang’s ship for show, searing the sand to glassy texture.

Caden was actually right where he should of been from the get go, awhile ago he was taught over the period of a day how to work the damn riggings and did a fine job of it too, well that's what Richards said anyway. He hated being stuck down below but hey if he could be put to good use it should be up here. "If they attack together then we fight back it is as simple as that until we have no choice but to abandon ship. I rather take down a few Riders and Fang's crew than to just turn tail so quickly." A pause as his mind wandered for a moment then looked to Shyrae. "Where is...your friend and Sky?"
