I got into GOW pretty late, a few months before the second one came out, and only because I had the $20 for the last copy of part one in the store.
I have yet to regret it.

I watched the first three episodes of the first season and David Duchovny alone (although entertaining) could not redeem the fact I did not dig the story, characters, or writing.
But I know TONS of people that love it. So I say it is worth at least a shot.

Dragon Age Origins has reminded me why I love, but mostly hate, fantasy RPGs. I don't think it helps I'm playing it on PC. I'm not a big PC gamer unless we count SNES emulators. IT IS NOT A BAD GAME. I just generally don't like fantasy RPG if it isn't a MMORPG. Running around trying to control my little team only makes me wonder "Why can't there be another person doing this with me?"
