"So then...?" Keegan asked, waiting for his opponent to send out the next Pokemon.
"Go!" Matt cried, slinging his Pokeball onto the field. Keegan couldn't help but smirk, but he knew Vulpix's special move, Heat Wave, was enough to anger just about anyone.
Another bug appeared before them. It was small, and was purple, blue and black. A pair of gossamer wings were attached to its back.
"Let's get 'em, Illumise!" the trainer yelled. "Start off with a Sweet Scent!"
"Counter with Heat Wave!" commanded Keegan.
The Illumise, who was slightly faster, gave off an irresistable scent, and Vulpix's eyes suddenly became far away. It shook it off, and blasted Illumise with its scorching attack, but when the steam cleared, Illumise was nowhere to be found.
"Tackle!" cried Matt, and Illumise came diving out of the sky and rammed into Vulpix as hard as it could. The fire fox was thrown back, but jumped to its feet and quickly fired a blazing Ember at point blank range, coverng the firefly Pokemon with hot coals.

"Shake it off, Illumise! Use your Silver Wind!"
Illumise brushed off the burning coals, squeaking in pain. It took to the air and unleashed a furious, yet beautiful gust of silvery wind that seemed to aim directly at Vulpix. The fox was struck again, and although the attack wasn't as effective as it would have been on other types, Vulpix still was looking hurt.
"Heat Wave again!" cried Keegan, and Vulpix struggled to his feet. He released the intense wave of hot air, this time catching Illumise in the center of it. The fierfly dropped to the ground, twitching in pain due to the super effective attack.
"Aw man," Matt said, looking disappointed. "I would have had you if it wasn't for your fire type."
"It happens. But that Illumise of yours is tough! I hope you keep training it well," Keegan said, and the two said goodbye and Keegan continued on his way north.

Seth saw Kasiya rush out of the gym. "I suspose the match is over," Seth said recalling is Pokemon as well. He was grateful for it as well. A battle that had lasted thoughout the night and till morning was quite exhausting and he was ready to collapse. But of course he wouldn't dare do it in from of Surge. Seth flatered a bit, but caught himself.

"Thank you, Dante. Yours are great too!" Ryka replied.
Blitz sniffed the stranger's hand, and deciding it was safe, ran up to his shoulder and sat on it. He felt like he was on top of the world, for this boy was taller than Ryka. She laughed a little.
"That wouldn't really be fair. So.. Would you like to battle, Dante?"

A suprised look appeared on Dante's face when Blitz climbed onto him but he smiled and pet him a bit before he answered Ryka. "A battle eh? Well this could be fun." He looked over at Apollo and smiled a bit. "You read for battle Apollo?"
Apollo snorted at the question and rose up on his hind legs slightly and stamped them down clearly ready for anything. This caused Dante to laugh. "All right. It looks like were in."

"Alright! Vixen, are you ready?" Ryka asked, getting fired up at the thought of a battle.
The Vulpix purred in a reply, until she looked to see who her opponent was. 'Aww, Apollo's my friend! I don't want to fight him!' She whined.
"Oh, come on. Stop being spoiled. Don't you want to get stronger?" Ryka asked, folding her arms. "Besides, it's just a practice battle. You won't hurt him severly, don't worry."
'Fine..' Vixen grumbled and walked over to the field. Ryka followed her and stood on a line, ready to battle.

Picking Blitz off of his shoulder he set him down and said in a cheary voice. "You dont want to be on my side while Ryka battles." He then got up and went to teh other side of their impromptu battle field. "Ready to go Ryka?" Dante asked from across the feild. Shiva who had rolled over to his side was sitting at his feet wanting to support her trainer and see the battle.
Apollo went to stand in the middle his white fire mane blazing in anticipation of a battle. He stamped on diamond hard hoof down a puff of dust appearing when he did so. What made this battle even better for Apollo was the fact that he was fighting against a friend and a fire pokemon. It was going to be an enjoyable challange.

Ryka giggled a little. "Come on over here, Blitz. We don't want you annoying Dante the WHOLE time."
Blitz ran over and got confortable on Ryka shoulder to watch the battle.
"I'm ready! Ready, Vixen?" The Vulpix growled in reply. "Ok, lets go! Start off with Will-o-wisp!" Vixen lifted her tails, and blue flames erupted from them. They floated over to Apollo and danced around him.

Dante smirked a bit when he heard her comand to do Will-o-wisp. "That wasn't very smart Ryka. Fire attacks won't work against Apollo's Flash Fire ability. Apollo hit Vixen with your Quick Attack." He comaneded.
In an instant Apollo had disappeared using its high speed to preform a Quick Attack on Vixen.

Mitsu watched Ryka and Dante battle. Both seemed confident and an equal match. She gave a soft sigh, she had wanted a challenge. With the thought of an equal opponent a thought struck her. Maybe Kasiya was still in Vermillion! Mitsu dug though her bag and picked up her Pokenav and dialed Kasiya's number. She waited for her to pick up.
Sapphire was watching intently wanting more action. He was a bit over eager when it came to battling. Mitsu retuned Ivy and Ebony leaving only her Houndoom and Gardevior outside.

((I thought Will-o-wisp would still work.. oh well. xP))
Ryka laughed off her mistake. "Ah well. At least we tried." She said to Vixen, who was sitting grooming herself. This is gonna be a tough match.. But it'll be fun! Ryka thought.
"Wait, Vixen! Stop grooming yourself and get up!" Ryka suddenly yelled. But by the time Vixen stood up and was alert, Apollo had performed his Quick Attack. Vixen was flung back a distance. She quickly got up, fire burning in her eyes. 'NO ONE hits me when I'm grooming myself!' She told particularly no one.
"Try a Confuse Ray, Vixen!" Ryka yelled. Vixen's eyes became wide and hypnotic. Little rings of rainbow colors shot out of them, which went into Apollo's eyes.

((Just be be sure I looked it up and it said, "All fire attacks negated." Vulpix has flash fire as well so this is a no fire battle between fire pokemon XD I didn't know Vulpix learned confuse ray....))
Dante cursed lightly under his breath when the confuse ray hit Apollo. He let out a sigh and hoped that the confusion didn't effect Apollo to much. However he needed a way that was simple and would waste time until Apollo's confusion ran out. "Apollo, run! Run around the feild." Running was one of a hourse's greatest joys, he just hoped that it would help snap him out of confusion, or waste enough time to have the confusion where off.
Upon hearing his trainers comand Apollo took off running at the high speeds known to the fire horse pokemon. Run was such a simple comand and concept for Apollo that he wasn't confused about it. Though Apollo was running however it was in a kind of crazy way. Apollo would suddenly change directions or do weird manuvers on the battle feild, the effects of the confusion the fault of that.
Apollo didn't know where it was going and was going everywhere, he even came near where Ryka and Dante where standing causing both of them to try to doge the flaming horse and its hooves. Dante decided that as soon as he could he would find that berry that cured confusion in order to avoid another scene like this.

(( Bleh, I just remembered that I named the Houndoom Sapphire because it was a girl and now I'm changing it to a guy. xD Now HE needs a new name. LOL. ))
Mitsu watched the battle taking note that using confusion could be quite dangerous. "Wow, two fire Pokemon that can't use fira attacks. This should be interesting." she said, more to herself than either on of them. Sapphire's eyes grew as he watched the battle taking in all the damage. He seemed a bit over eager to cause some damage.

"Heh, sorry Dante!" Ryka yelled across the field. "But a good strategy! Let's see if you can keep it up.." Ryka said the first part loud, but the second to herself. "Quick attack!"
Vixen looks at her friend, confused as to why he was acting so weird. She knew he loved to run, but he was constantly tripping and wobbling. She gave him a look before dashing after him at the speed of lightning.
When she finally reached the Ponyta, she bashed into his side softly, not wanting to hurt him badly.

Dante frowned when he saw the weak attack. He didn't know what was up with Ryka's pokemon. This was a battle and her pokemon was holding back. "Ryka." He called across the battlefeild. "This is a pokemon battle. You cannot have your pokemon hold back even if they are friends. The only way that they can get stronger is if they fight for real. Dont hold back anymore. Because I wont and neither will Apollo." Besides Dante thought. We are right next to the pokemon center its not like if they get hurt it cannot be fixed in a few minutes.
He finished and glanced over at Apollo who had stopped wobbling. It appeared that Vixen's Quick Attack was enough to shake the fire horse out of confusion. Dante smirked at this, the Quick Attack had brought Vixen close to Apollo, close enough for Apollo to use the powerful stomp technique. "Apollo, use stomp."
Apollo whinnied and raised back on his two hind legs befor bringing his hooves down powerfully causing soil and rock below to smash up into the air with the force of the attack.
