She took the rigging like a natural, well aware of what she was supposed to do. Through the dim fog all of them could see what was going on and it wasn't pretty. Now she understood why Sky was below deck. That's what they did? Without a care in the world either, it seemed. That poor dragon...
"I dunno. Just tellin' you what she said to me." She liked the happy feeling she got from Kaznec and nearly said something else when it quickly changed and her bouncing slowed considerably more. "You really miss him, don't you, Kazzy? I can link with Sylin if you wanna talk to him," she said, her tone spiking slightly in that hopeful child manner. She hated making others sad. "Well, Lynnie left me and you never wanna play which is why you're permanently Butthead. I just want them to be happy. Usually married couples play around and giggle a lot but they haven't even giggled once. And Bellah hasn't blushed or nothin', 'cept when I said sex." Expectant look over to said dragon. "Seeexxxxxxxx."
He readied himself with the collar and flew up beside them, giving the signal to jerk the ropes, then diving down to watch her free-fall. Landing, he watched her, calculating the spot he needed to be in and unlocking the collar. Sniffing the air experimentally, he paused. There was another dragon nearby. A female...free...unmarked. Hmm...
She let them think they had, even let them snare her wings and perform certain commands and steps on her but the moment she began falling, another plan took shape in her mind. They didn't actually think she was going to let them get her that easily, did they? A puff of smoke and their ropes were falling by themselves, her body released until she popped out of a nearby cloud formation, letting out a mighty roar. Now the dragon inside her was angry and wanted revenge. She dove low, moving straight towards one of the team without ropes and reached out with a talon, slapping him off his mount completely, then banking to the left and flipping so that they couldn't snare her wings again. Another roar and she took off once more.

"Take it as a projected date of hopeful intentions Kaznec. After all, if we keep up in progress we're sure to finish quickly." Giving him and grin as he had reached out and took her hand in the reasurring manner. Something wanted to make her curl up to his side rather than just have his hand, but whatever it was she pushed it away for the moment. But a little nod to Xeke...it make sense. Kaz was all logic and straightforward...she was a little less and saw what he didn't. It worked. And now she was the butt of the joke. "I did not!" Even if she did...it wasnt' about the word so much as the subjects involved. How could she not feel self concioucs around Kaznec when it came to such things? Looking for distraction, she gave a tug on Kaz's hand to pull him up to a more sitting position and moved herself to kneel behind him, resting her hands on his back between his wings and starting to work his muscles some, just to distract herself and work the stiffness out of him some.
"That's how I thought you felt." Which was good...meant he'd be an active bidder for her attentions. "I don't have a set price. I'm feeling whims and what not. So maybe I'll want something today, maybe I want something tomorrow...maybe you can provide that day and maybe you can't. Which means I can take my business elsewhere." Mmm, implications were fun.
What was he doing? Why was he not paying attention? A frown as things went in a bad direction for a moment and he pinched the bridge of his nose. Didn't take much for him to swoop down and rope his 'commander'. "If you can't reign your instincts in, then head back to camp." Jerking on the rope and letting it go before heading off again with the rest of the team to try and recover. A series of whistles to get things across. "Let's do it the fun way. Those with male mounts...land and dismount...let the little buggers swarm her. It will at least distract her."

"Have hope and faith... Right." He blinked though as Areesa spoke of the things that were on his mind at the moment... Now Seons were mind readers too? That interested him but he gave the yellow ball of light a light sigh of sorts and shook his head. "Thank you for the offer but I can't. I have to be independent, he would be disappointed in me if I called him now and interrupted his work. I'm just worried." About Ilindal and everything. But he listened to the Seon's rationalization about giggling and blinked; they supposed to 'play around' now? And then a roar interrupted his thoughts and he instinctively turned his head towards that direction... "Something is happening." And yet, they weren't allowed to go up but curiosity would get the better of him. Thus he barely even noticed her tug him up to sit properly until that warm soothing feeling spread over his back again and he dropped the hand that was holding Areesa, eyes closing naturally as certain worries slipped into the back of his mind to plague him another day.
"It's the Riders." Merely stating the obvious for now, until he had to move because Jae had done the same. Hovering in the air by the yellow light for now then, a sound that sounded suspiciously like a chuckle escaped him. "Kaz doesn't giggle but I think Bell does, except our presence is throwing both of them off. One in the bad way, the other just in the hopeless way." Zipping through the yellow light once just because. "Don't be embarrassed about it, Bell. And you, Areesa, stop teasing. You'll make it worse."

"Okie dokie. But if you ever wanna, I'll be glad to help out." She thought it was silly that Kazzy thought his father might be upset with him but she was just a Seon and didn't really have a father so maybe she was wrong. Humans, elves, and dragons, not to mention Laerethe, were funny creatures sometimes. She hovered in the air for a moment and then bounced up higher, settling some as Xeke rested by her at least until he zipped through her and then she took it as an invitation to play tag and moved through him in retaliation. "Someone's gotta. They like each other but won't admit it. Hopeless or not he can't be that dense! Even Lynnie says so."
He snapped at the human who was getting a bit big for his ropes in his opinion and glared. "Careful human or I'll snap you in half. She disappeared and there was nothing I could have done to stop her." Tossing his head and watching the female flit around with narrowed eyes. He'd never seen one of his kind do it before but knew some of the city-bred dragons had knowledge of magics and the like renegades and rogues didn't. Watching the others go after her, he reveled all the more in what it would be like when she belonged to him. "It won't work." he said confidently, but knew he woudn't be listened to. This one was going to take something special and he had just the thing.
She knew what they were doing and knew why they were doing it, too. She knew every move they were liable to take, every weapon they were going to deploy and was ready for it. Slathering beasts after a female...how fun. As long as the ships got past them without a problem, she wouldn't have to play this game with them. But for now she was having way too much fun. Rahsaveer often told her she didn't get out enough...perhaps he was right. Swiping her bladed tail at one of the males fluttering a little too close to her, she roared in warning and soared straight up, picking off another human as she went. They were way too easy to get rid of if she came in from the right angle.

Des watched, and shook her head. that trick was a neat one, but her tricks wouldn't last forever. if she kept trying stunts like that, they'd realize real fast she wasn't what she appeared to be. when they started to dismount, she quirked a brow, trying to remember if she'd seen that tactic before..until she noticed they were all males. that made little sense...but when they moved, she caught on quick. they were going to swarm, each trying to mark a much larger dragoness as thier own. since they didn't have the 'attachment' such things usually came with, they wouldn't care if she wanted marked or not. in a Rider dragon, it was a first come first serve ideal. and kill those that were the biggest rivals if needed.
Richards looked down, noting Des still waiting. apparently whatever was going on there wasn't as bad as it seemed to be looking just yet. he was certain Des would move to defend the star child if needed.
Hunter narrowed his eyes slightly.
"I can offer fame, wealth, and privilege. and maybe, if you really are a good girl and play your cards right, how would you like to be able to see again?"
Oh he was really, really going to regret saying that. But, with the sands at his command, he could afford a deal with the devil. The real issue was being able to meet the price of both elf and said devil.

"Kaznec, just because you call him doesn't make you dependent on him. Some of us don't have the luxury of having a parent, you should be happy to indulge." But her attention was focused to him for the moment with a slight grin as she peered around to watch his eyes drop closed in that relaxed fashion. "It's been happening all morning." Moving her hands up to his shoulders and crook of his neck, fingers well versed to tinkering with inventions seeking out tighter patches of muscle. A light look to the green light that would flash every now and then from the two mixing up their colors with their play, not really listening to them at the moment. "It's amazing what Areesa can talk you into, Butthead." Another look to Kaz and giving a little sniff...nope. She couldn't smell herself on him at all...but he was him clear as day and it made her head kind of fuzzy in the good way.
"Now now, don't start patronizing me. I'm older than you here." But then a frown and she set him with a harsh gaze even if she couldn't see him. "Is that a jest at me? You of all people, a human, can't offer such things." If even her father hadn't found a solution to that she had no faith that a human would. And she didn't take kindly to being mocked over it. Remembering though that you had to negotiate deals carefully or lose them completely she tried to smooth her proverbial feathers some. "How about a test? I'm sure you don't believe this works yet. I'll show you it does and then I can come up with something frivilous to satisfy myself until I figure what I want from you. Maybe your soul, I have options."
"If you were paying attention...." Shaking his head and merely watching from where he was. He wasn't going to get mixed up in the fray, he knew better. Let the lessers do that and stay alive. A tail blade could really kill you fast. A raise of an eyebrow over to the other. "Oh it won't will it? Well then since you're 'in charge' why don't you do a better job? Or are you too busy watching the sun glint off her scales on her underbelly?" Wrinkling his nose some and shaking his head.

"there are powers in the sands. just as old and ancient as our star eyed annoyances. and they can be bartered with, if one has the proper motivation and the proper payment. or leverage."
A smirk at her, walking over and wiggling his finger right in front of her nose just because she couldn't see it.
"You wouldn't be showing your hand if it didn't work. but if you want to arrange for a test run while you figure your payments out, by all means we can do that."
Desdemona took a breath, and held it for a moment, before hopping off and gliding to the Claw, and moving over to Thobias, since he was sure the b***h running the ship would give her much more hassle about things. using the same signs, she asked him about the whereabouts of the other one of those kids.
Des wasn't as confident as their 'bait' was. Humanity's trump card was swift, and decisive, adaptation. things that worked one way might have been altered adn improved upon with time. and these children stated themselves that they don't visit here unless they have to. which means they very well may know everything that the Riders had at thier disposal then...but that didn't mean that arsenal hadn't been considerably expanded by now.

"But I would be interrupting him and allowing my curiosity to cloud my duty and my judgment at the moment. He wouldn't like that and the subject is one that's probably saved for a better day..." He thought he knew what she was thinking though, the subject of not even having parents to call one's own was worse than his issues with his uncle. So he let that drop and naturally tilted his head as her fingers rubbed a certain way in a certain place. That felt good, better than what the healers did and it was pretty much the same thing wasn't it? Or was this something to do with the marking they had apparently done to each other? But he still didn't understand the scent part of it and he breathed in deep, attempting to analyze the scents that were drifting around him.
"He's not dense, exactly. He's just selectively rejected the emotional side of his mind after what happened. It's hard to get him to reconnect but eventually it will happen, maybe. Even I don't know." Another zip through the yellow light before he paused, making a noise like a grunt at the use of his nickname again. "Now you're being just as mean as her... Don't forget that I've known Kaz and his mother since forever. I know things that can help you, Bell."

Thobias signaled to the crow's nest where Rahsaveer was currently creating various cloud formations to keep things interesting. He warned Des that the Laerethe had their own way of doing things and outsiders were not always welcome. Then again, Rahsaveer seemed the more laidback of the two so perhaps Des would be alright.
"Sounds like he's dense to me." She giggled when Jae used his nickname then zipped right back through Xeke twice just to get him back into the game. "She's just playing with you. You're fun to rile, Xeke. Besides, I only call you that when you're bein' mean to me and that's pretty often, too." Fluttering over to spin around Jae's horns for a moment and then zipping back through her current companion. "So, share, Xeke. I wanna see them happy together, not trying to figure everything out. Lynnie does too." Her rune brightened considerably at that and her little ball shook. "Ooops, I wasn't s'posed to say that..."
Standing in the crow's nest with his scepter in hand, he was drawing clouds into the sky with almost childlike delight. He knew Des was coming up and why she was there before her head even poked over the side of his little nest. "You're worried about Eilynne, Desdemona. Do you think she's foolish for playing bait?"
Getting increasingly more annoyed with the human, he snapped. "I was paying attention! Did you have any idea she was going to disappear? No. So get off my scales." Glancing up, he watched her easily thwart those who were trying to capture her and shook his head. "Because you feel the need to hold the job. Bring them down. I'll send my team in and we'll capture her that way. Those little shrimps aren't going to do anything to calm that dragoness and if she has the ability of magics, it's going to take a lot more cunning to capture her." Sniffing again. "There's another in our midst as well. Unmarked female."
Somersaulting in the air, she smoothly glided beneath the various dragons swarming about above her and disappeared into another cloud formation, coming out once again and nosediving as she continued to pick them off. Ensuring they would land safely or be caught by a comrade, she let the humans fall without worry and the dragons she disarmed would catch their wings on a drift on the way down. There was no need to harm them unnecessarily.

"Things such as false or self made Gods? If the real ones won't do anything about such circumstances then what makes you think a find struck deal says you can do it?" Obviously she was skeptical and not taking too kindly to that exact payment method and the like. But a grin from her as Chy made a familiar noise from where he was on her shoulder as he duly bit that finger he deemed too close. That was his biting screech. "Fair enough...but do remember...don't think you're going to be the only one privy to such information."
She would of rolled her eyes at his answer, had she not been caught up in her own musings at the moment in how this was all different between the two of them. He was rather easy going about all of this too wasn't he? usually he only tolerated so much before he was brushing anyone off of him. A blink and a look over to balls of light, a conversation to which Kaz seemed almost oblivious to. "Affection, I swear..." Losing face a moment to his comment though...oh God was he in her head someway or something? Play stupid. "Help me what?" And they seemed both in on some information. Why did they have the dangerous information. Ignore it, just ignore it and keep playing dumb.
But her attention turned back to who her hands were on, watching him tilt his head and breathe in deep pleasantly. She did the same unconciously...never going to get tired of that scent of his. Then again she'd always liked it for some reason. Leaning forward some of subconscious accord, she brushed her lips over his neck where her hands had just smoothed over and lingering a second or two....which upon realizing that...caused her a jerk back from him, hands and all. Oh sweet ancestors! Did she just do that?! Looked like a kid who had just been caught swiping a few coins from their parents without permission. Maybe he didn't notice....and the lightballs missed it too. Attempting to save face she swallowed and returned slightly shaking hands to his shoulders to pretend nothing happened. It was just the whole scent thing, or hormones or something getting to her...yeah.
"Very well." Giving that same series of whistles to call down dragons. That was the greatest thing about breaking them...even their instincts were flawed to the commands they lived by. Crossing his arms he titled his head in cocky male fashion. "Your turn then, commander." Raise of an eyebrow then. "You think trying for two in one day is a smart move?"

Desdemona frowned lightly.
"I think she's playing a game that she can't win. despite you apparent grand power, you've stated yourself you have to work within limitations. human's don't and they have a very, very annoying habit of being remarkably adaptable."
Settling down by the other little child thing.
"Magic won't save her if they've dealt with dragons capable of it. they'll have a way around that. and they have numbers. any one dragon in these sands is asking to be yoked."
Looking out at Eilynne.
"and is she tries to many stunts..they'll know she isn't a dragon. and then there's no bait at all. If needed I'm ready to help her out, but honestly...either way, I think someone is going under the yoke if only for a short time. and even a short time can be an eternity with that."
He frowned when the bird bit his finger. still wanted to stuff it and mount it in his cabin.
"for the same reason you just said. not that they couldn't do it, but that they wouldn't do it. so something that can do it, and will do it for payment, could work out just as well, couldn't it."
before a frown at her.
"What do you mean not the only one? you know as soon as you let that out beyond my ears that little annoyance is going to confiscate it. or at the very least take your crystal away. and if you show the Commander he'll go to her first because heaven forbid he make a choice without her input."

Indeed he was pretty oblivious to it all. For one thing, he was used to the Seons flitting about, engaged in their own oddly confusing conversation topics. Usually it was picking at each other in some way or another. It wasn't relevant to him. This scent problem, however, was very relevant and very intriguing. He knew the research and he knew the theories, but bring aware of the experience was something completely different. Every scent in the world was unique and once you got a sniff of it, it was never forgotten, permanently imprinted into your mind and associated with its owner forever more. So then... what scent should Jae be linked with in his mind?
But a blink as what he assumed were her fingers paused on the nape of his neck and then disappeared altogether... only to return a few seconds later again. That was odd. Perhaps she was tired now, he shouldn't be putting her through this. It was his problem, it would go away soon. Thus tucking strands of hair back behind his ear, he turned around to watch her, about to say thank you until it suddenly hit him out of the blue. "Jae, can I... do something? I won't hurt you." He held her gaze for a moment longer to reassure her of his intentions and then shifted forward, brushing her hair back with his hand and leaning his face into the side of her neck. Nose grazing her skin, he breathed her in deeply. He was right... she smelled like fresh water... spring winds... "Ice caves." He pulled back then, smiling as his expression changed into one of mild amusement with a hint of pride. He'd just had to concentrate on it to find the answer, now it made sense.
"I'm not mean. I'm honest." But seemingly, he didn't mind indulging her game this time and started more or less chasing her around the area, zipping back and forth to created a multicolored light show in front of the dragons. "Now she's being dense too, but on purpose." Humming a little at that. "Areesa, you always let things slip... This is why I can't tell you anything. But you know, Bell knows most of what I do. She just won't let herself admit it. Can't help you there..." Voice inflecting somewhat as if he was amused by all this, or maybe just amused at what the dragons had just done.

"You're honestly mean and I can a keep a secret just as well as you can." She didn't even raise her tone this time since she was having too much fun with a playful Xeke. He got like that sometimes and she took full advantage of it, too. Humming excitedly at what was going on between said dragons, she settled inside Xeke for a moment, communicating only through the flashes of runes. That was kind of amusing to be sure and only excited her more. "Ice caves!" Giving a giggle and then bumping Xeke's ball. "Told ya. Now he's just gotta not be dense about it and Bellah's gotta help him see the light," Lowering her voice so only Xeke could hear. "And then we'll have pretty dragon babies to play with."
He still didn't turn towards her and never ceased his motions with his fingers. "I appreciate your concern. Normally I wouldn't share this with you because Lynn is very private and likes to remain mysterious, but since you seem genuinely concerned and ready to sacrifice, I'll let you in on a little secret." Turning towards her now, he gave her a smile. "We take our orders from someone a little higher than anyone you see around here. She knows what she's doing and testing them is all part of the process. You see, Desdemona, we have been charged with a special task, a sidequest I believe it's often referred to as. I cannot share with you what it is, only that you need not get involved. If you still wish to save her, I won't stop you but do be careful. You are not part of that sidequest and I don't know what Lynn will choose to do in the event your freedom is needed."
"No. Just be ready with the ropes and collar." And he left it at that purposefully, signaling to a certain group of his command. He changed to natural form on the sands, a full-grown bronze with spitting obsidian eyes. Amusingly enough, his element was water and everyone knew how much water and electricity didn't mix. His group knew the drill by now and they circled her easily enough, chasing her for a little while before he hovered over her and then dropped and latched onto her scales with his talons, sinking his teeth into her neck and keeping them both afloat with his own wings. Tucking them, he let them move into a freefall, his clan around him, ready to snatch her if she pulled one of her tricks. He caught the last current and when he was positive her wings would give her little aid, he dropped her the rest of the way.
Knowing what he was doing didn't stop the thrill that raced through the female's body at the chase and eventual capture or her forced submission to his whims. She hit the sand with an a 'oomf' sound and immediately scrambled back up, throwing back her head and rowing and letting off sparks of electricity then aiming straight for the streak in the sky and sending a bolt of electricity straight at him which he countered with water and beat her lightning back with almost lazy-like motions.

Savryn gave a chuckle at the biting. Hey, wasn't her fault if he got bit because he was too close in her space. That, among other things, was what Chylithair was for. A slight shrug though to his apparent concern for his own gain, "The commander will try to barter with me. Or offer me something intangible. After all...it was his guard that sullied by name in this place. I have that against him. And it doesn't matter if it's confiscated from me...I have the signature. Signatures are all that matter. Maybe you can tempt my silence for the time being before I insitgate a bidding war."
She probably would of 'eeped' when he turned aroudn and looked at her, thinking that she had indeed been caught and his reaction had just been delayed, but he beat her to making sounds or words rather with his question and the look in his eyes that said the wheels in his head were turning. Which god a slightly wide eyed blink from her before a little nod, "Sure." ...and more or less steeling herself where she sat on her knees to keep from leaning away from him as he leaned into her personal space.
Okay, so this was...new and different...especially when things came with disclaimers of 'I won't hurt you'. Instinctively she tilted her head for him to give him more room to...what was he doing exactly? All she knew was that he was close enough to feel his skin touch hers and she gave a little sigh...before a blink at his announcement and that look that danced across his features that said he had just figured out that he was right about something. "Ice caves?" What about the ice caves? Her tail giving a flick in show of her own curiosity to that one.
He tried to look as unimpressed as possible by the dragon...even if he was somewhat. "You know there's a reason why we don't let them do this. They always tend to get wound up too tightly with those girls. Next thign you know it's 'no you can't have my clutch'." Wrinkling his nose in distastful fashion and widening his stance for that shockwave that came he shook his head. "Is damn effective though." A hand motion to his own group. "Ready up ropes and collar and move in." Waiting for that opportunity and it was merely a few good manuvers and destraction before that collar snapped in place and activated
Oh this was just too perfect. He'd been trailing high up in the clouds. Now that plans had changed, he was winging it and saw more reason to try and snuggle into the group rather than not be near. Long as he didn't go neutral around the pale blind elf then he had no reason to worry. Thusly he watched as she was taken down by the other dragon and thus was ready for a fight. He knew the bronze would get her....and he would be there to save the day. Gold eyes watched as they collared her and he knew she would fight and that would be when the bronze would pounce...and then he'd swoop in himself.
She had her spyglass out again and felt teh sand rattle her ship lightly. "This is starting to go south Mister Robins...send signal to the Chimera, get as much speed going on both these ships as possible. Now." No time for complicated hand signals, information needed to be known now.

Guesses once again confirmed, he dropped his hand and put a certain amount of comfortable space between them again. Well now there was a certain satisfied feeling glowing inside him for some reason. It was like suddenly he had more characteristics to attribute to her, new knowledge of sorts... and he liked it. Nodding in response, he gave her that soft smile again. "You smell like the ice caves. Areesa said the marking was mutual and so you should smell like me now but there has to be a distinction to that. I knew it was something I had smelled before, perhaps I just hadn't fully acknowledged it until now." But his mind pushed that thought a little further and he tilted his head in that curious way as he gazed at her. "What do I smell like?"
"Sure." Sarcastic but it didn't show in his tone too much. There was no reason to argue with her on that, she would just turn it against him as usual. But they kept each other company in the meantime, odd things Seons were... Green light flared as they joined into one ball of light, the sudden increase in frequency allowing them to communicate silently between themselves. "I still think it's going to be a while until that happens... You should amuse yourself with Sky in the meantime. She's close enough to a baby dragon." But a pause then and he blinked. "Eilynne is down."
