Cindy had to laugh at that as she entered the kitchen, it was quite typical of Rhea to say something like that. She loved anything that made life interesting.

"That does not surprise me," Cindy replied as she took a seat.

"I should hope not," Aurin grinned at Cindy. "You were her teacher for several years. A few decades, even. I should expect you would know her very well, indeed."

"Cindy," Adonai spoke up, giving Aurin a chance to eat at last, "once you're finished packing, I was wondering, would you mind running to the ranch and letting Elrohir and Haradhel know that we're going? I'm going to be asking Mother and Father to take care of the house while we're gone, but the ranch should know as well, just in case anything comes up. And I know Haradhel would probably want to send something along for Rhea and the babies."

"I'll go!" Vergil offered, raising his hand to get attention like a child in school. "I'll go! Let me!"

Adonai shook his head at Vergil. "You're too small to go on your own," he said firmly.

"You may come with me," Cindy offered.

She knew Vergil would like to do things on his own, but more often than not it wasn't possible. He was even smaller than her when she was stuck as a child.

At Adonai's refusal, Vergil's shoulders had slumped dejectedly, but at his mother's approval he straightened his shoulders once more, his gray eyes sparkling brightly.

"Thank you!" he beamed at Cindy, his thanks sincere. It was rare that he got to go to the ranch, and he looked forward to every visit.

Shael giggled softly. "Perhaps," she suggested, "if you asked Aurin very nicely, he might take you Skyel?"

Vergil turned toward Aurin so quickly it seemed his head was on a spring. "Will you please?" he asked in a begging tone.

Aurin thought about it for a moment. Sure, Skyel needed rest, but it was a short flight. He saw no reason why he couldn't.

"Very well," he smiled. "If that is all right with Cindy." He turned to Cindy and looked at her, waiting for her reply.

Cindy thought about it, she didn't see why not. This would mean less time getting there and more time packing in the end. She nodded at this.

"That is fine," she agreed.

Aurin smiled and nodded his head at her. "Whenever you are ready, then," he said warmly. "When you are finished with your preparations, perhaps?"

There was no rush, after all.

"Yes, I think that would be the easiest," Cindy agreed.

It would mean having to brush off her runed bag, something she hadn't used for a long time now.

"Mother," Vergil spoke up, "what will I be bringing? And what bag will I be using? I don't have a bag of my own ..."

He had never been traveling before - not to mention, he was a better size to go into a bag, rather than to carry one.

Actually, that was a particularly good question, especially the last one. Cindy looked down at Vergil thoughtfully. Now, if there was anything she did know, she knew runes were not her forte. So the question became, how would Vergil carry around a bag.

Simply put it, until she got a bag for him, she couldn't.

"We'll have to put your things into my bag," she finally replied, "That would be the best way for now."

"Okay," Vergil agreed readily. "I'll wait for you before I start getting my stuff then. And you can help me pick what to take, okay? Because I don't know. I didn't have anything but Yamato the last time I went anywhere."

And he had stowed away in various bags for that "trip".

"Alright," Cindy agreed, "We can start after breakfast."

Since they would have to go down to the ranch after packing it would be best to start packing soon after. It had been a while since Cindy went anywhere herself.

Once breakfast was over, Adonai suggested that Aurin rest in his study for a bit while the rest of them began their packing Aurin accepted gratefully, and Adonai and Shael headed upstairs to begin their own packing.

Vergil hopped off the table and ran for the stairs as well. "Come on, Mother!" he called excitedly. "We have to get started!

"I'm coming," Cindy called back.

She got up at her own pace though, instead of hurrying. While they only had a day to pack, there wasn't a need to rush. Following after Vergil, Cindy could not help but giggle, because Vergil was just being cute and young.

Even with Cindy taking her time and Vergil rushing, it still took Vergil quite a bit longer to get up the stairs. He had told Adonai and Ulrich when he had arrived that he didn't want the stairs to be customized for him: he wanted to use the big steps. He was sort of regretting that now: he was good at climbing the steps, but he was still a bit slow.

Instead of going to Cindy's room - since she clearly wouldn't need his help to pack - he headed to his own room to see if he could figure out what he would need. Cindy would probably pack faster without him anyways.

Cindy went straight for her room, trusting Vergil to pick out things he thought he might need. He can always be corrected while they were packing and the nice thing about runed bags was that it was quite forgivable if you packed too much.

She first started on the things she actually needed, such as the clothes, grooming items and so forth. Then she settled for things she didn't really need but would like, like her notebook, and some of her sample bottles.
