"That's good." Mike said. "I'm glad. It would really suck if everyone was overtired. I bet Keegan is still sleeping." he said with a smile. His room was next on his visitation list.
"I'm coming!" Sasha said in reply to Mitsu's loud knocking, only realizing the entendre afterwards. She giggled. "Aw." whined the girl as Kasiya removed herself from Sasha's bountiful chest. You've made a powerful enemy this day, Kinomoto! she thought, shaking her fist at the door. I had her! I almost had her! When her vengeful gesture had all but satisfied her need for dramatics for the morning, Sasha also got up. "Une seconde!" she cried, turning back from the door at just the right moment to see Kasiya disrobe. Sasha jammed her fist into her mouth and bit down, controlling herself as best she could. Trying to avert her eyes she walked over to the dresser and retrieved her clothes, quickly putting them on. "I feel like I could use a cigarette right now." she said under her breath. Making sure that no one else had the luxury of seeing Kasiya in her underwear, Sasha checked to see if her friend was clothed before opening the door and poked her head out. "Bonjour!" she said cheerfully.
"Good. More good sleep people." Mike said. "Morning Sasha."
"You said you wanted to see me for somezh'ing?" she said as she opened the door the rest of the way. Truth be told she was a bit concerned at what it could be.
"Yeah. I was-um. You're a model right?" he asked.
"What gave it away?" Sasha replied in an utterly exotic tone, pressing her back against the door and sliding slowly down, fixing her predatory gaze on Mike.
Mike sucked in his lips. "Right." he said with a burst of air. "I was wondering if you could help me clean up a bit. I figure you must know a lot about lookin' nice, so I figured you could help me look a little less...like this." He motioned to his beaten and bruised body, then to his face that had 'insomnia' written all over it. Not to mention his wild hair, which had gone neglected for days. "I want to look as good as I can for Flannery when I see her today."
"Oh!" Sasha clapped, her face lighting up like a Christmas tree. "You two made amends? C'est merveilleux! Come ee'n and we'll fix you right up!" Before Mike could reply, the lovely girl grabbed his arm and nearly ripped it off. "Excusez-moi, Mitsu!" she said before pulling him into the girl's room and into their bathroom.

Sam was pleased that Miharu so readily agreed with Sam. She grinned sheepishly and looked away.
"Well...I think I want to catch a new Pokemon before I battle Falkner. So I think we should head off for some training or to Olivine. Along the way, I'll find a new team member. Then, when we are all done, I can head back to Violet City with even stronger pokemon and a new teammate. Hopefully an Electric one." She glanced to Miharu. "That okay?"

"See you soon," was all Mitsu could say with a small wave to an already shut door and an empty hallway. With a heavy sigh, she picked up her bag and moved down the hallway back to the lobby. She carelessly flicked her card onto the desk, not even waiting for an answer or acknowledgment. That was perfectly fine though, since the receptionist wasn't going to give her either anyways.
Couldn't they do something "normal" for once? Like spend time together without some sort of save-the-world type fiasco. Then again, that's what brought them together, their recklessness and innate sense of justice. Hah, Mitsu sneered. They may all have started out with some good intentions but each and every one of them had done something unscrupulous in the past or during the time that they had known each other. Mitsu laughed, she couldn't help but wonder if it was the need for redemption that kept their little ragtag team together.
Mitsu eventually made her way to the cafeteria where she had a decent enough meal, thought it was far from good or satisfying. She was finishing the last bite of her crisp green apple when she released her friend from her Pokeball. In a flash of crimson light, the ever familiar Psychic type appeared.
"I already know what's going on," Karri replied as Mitsu opened her mouth to speak. The Gardevoir was so intuitive and could easily map out the terrain of Mitsu's mind. "I also see you are making a friend up in there, you need to stop," she advised, poking a delicate finger to Mitsu's forehead, tapping repeatedly. Karri draped her slender white arms around the girl, giving her a reassuring hug. "I'll protect you Mitsu, you don't need to worry." Nuzzling her head against the girl Karri smiled, it had been a long time since they shared a decent hug.
"Let's go beat up a Gym Leader after this Karri," was all Mitsu could say.
"That would be Tate and Liza," Karri replied.
"I know," the trainer replied as the two shared a cheeky grin.

Train laughed slightly at Carlos' comment about fossils, though she began wondering if there really wasn't one she'd like. "Ehh," She mumbled at the mention of underwater ballets, wrinkling her nose a bit. She really wasn’t drawn to stuff like that. Though she had to admit, she wouldn't mind going to see the aquarium. Maybe seeing some of the Pokémon there were inspire her to catch one of them!
She blinked and turned to look at Carlos (obviously their pace had slowed down by now) as he mentioned contests. "Aw, crap!" She exclaimed unhappily. "I completely forgot about contests!" The teenager fiddled with the PokéBalls on her belt as she thought about a few of the contests she'd seen on television. She'd gotten so caught up in training for badges that she'd forgotten about them! She shook her head and sighed, looking up again to see that they were just about at the edge of Cerulean. "We've definitely got to try and see one," She piped up again, hooking her thumbs in the front pockets on her jeans and speeding up her pace slightly as she began to lose sight of Maz.

“Oh god, Cindy, move. I want you to counter it with quick attack.” The last thing anyone except Athena, Jett, and Terumi wanted was Cindy being put to sleep and viciously assaulted by a bird of prey. … Okay, so that was the goal of the majority of the people present in the area, but hey. Three people were going to be moderately disappointed.
Just before the hypnotic death rings reached Cindy, her image seemed to flicker off. A black and orange blur darted around Athena, coming back into clear view after ramming its shoulder into the Hoothoot’s back. “Quil! Cynda cynda!” Please… I am a scourge on your race! I will defeat you and bring out the final boss!

Kasiya was still studying herself in the mirror when she heard the door open, and Sasha greet Mike. At least I know what 'Bonjour' means, she thought with a giggle as she turned to see Sasha opened the door wide. It was still difficult not to grimace at Mike's disheveled appearance, and she idly wondered when the last time he'd been to get some restful sleep as she quietly listened to his request. She glanced back at herself and sighed, knowing she wouldn't be much help in this situation, but after hearing Sasha's concerns, she didn't want to leave the pink-haired girl alone with him. "Good morning, Mike," she said, stepping aside to give her friends some room. The fact that he wanted to do something about his appearance made her feel a little better, like he really was trying to set things right.
Her stomach grumbled as she watched Sasha yank the poor boy into the bathroom, a little curious as to what her pink-haired friend had in mind for Mike's little makeover. With Mike's strange new abilities she found herself wondering why his hair didn't seem to catch fire, even though it looked as though it had been partially burned away at some point. That must have happened before his... incident, she thought, gulping. But, she too was glad to hear that he and Flannery were going to be seeing each other, and she idly wondered if the redheaded gym leader knew of their plans to bring down Team Magma. Kasiya felt a little bad for not calling to check up on her, as she'd managed to become pretty good friends with Flannery over the past while. She made a mental note to try and remedy that once their mission was complete, and she tried to focus on what Sasha was doing while she pondered the idea of breakfast.
=-=-=-=-= Okay, just because the gym doors open at eight doesn't mean people have to come barging in demanding a battle already, an annoyed Flannery thought as she eyed the challenger before her - a boy, possibly a year or so younger than she was, wearing dark jeans and a blue t-shirt, His dark brown hair was messy in a stylish way, and he watched the gym leader with an expectant gaze. A few days ago Flannery had opted to remove the puzzle from her gym and was currently in the process of figuring out a new one, though as of yet no good ideas had come to mind. She stared down her challenger with unblinking, ruby eyes as she went over the gym's usual rules: three Pokemon each, no items, no switching, no time limit. First to knock out the other trainer's Pokemon wins, blah blah blah, Heat Badge, blah blah blah, gym leader duties, blah blah blah. When she was finished, she didn't hesitate to send her first Pokeball flying, and her ever-faithful Slugma, Megu, materialized on the field.
The challenger, a young man by the name of Robbie, nodded somewhat meekly at Flannery's rushed introduction. He wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead and carefully studied the Slugma she'd sent out as her first Pokemon before he sent out his as well - a white, catlike Pokemon with red markings and dangerously sharp claws. Flannery easily recognized it as a Zangoose and knew she would have to play this one carefully.

"Morning, Kass!" Mike yelped as he was pulled into the bathroom. With a wide smile, Sasha grabbed a nearby chair and sat the boy down in it. She spun him around and inspected him closely.
"We have a lot of work to do." she said bluntly, shaking her head. "First off, you need to start sleeping! It'll get rid of zh'ose bags under your eyes. Zh'ere's enough zh'ere to pack a family of four!"
With unblinking eyes, Mike responded. "Who would choose to close their eyes and welcome the unending torrent of death I see each time I blink?" The once friendly atmosphere all but incinerated as the boy spoke. "I'm vulnerable when I sleep. He comes when I sleep. I try not to sleep."
Sasha bit her lower lip. "Well, we, uh..." she reached for the right thing to say, but found nothing. "But eet's good for you." she said, turning him around (making sure to touch the chair and not him). "You need sleep to function, properly!" Sasha reached in her bag for a brush.
"Mind over matter." he said simply. "That which I believe has no choice but to exist."
Sasha once again found herself at a loss for words. She began brushing his hair without saying a word. It was a mess. Not only had the boy's hair grown much longer than usual, it was clumped together. Sasha wasn't sure if the heat or his straw-like hair was making the situation more difficult. However, no matter how harsh she got with her brushing, Mike never flinched. He only stared forward into his own reflection, occasionally looking to random spots in the room. The two sat in silence for five or so minutes before Mike spoke up.
"Knowing what little you know of me," he said. "Knowing all that I've done," His words were dull and emotionless. "Would you take me back?"
"Mike, I, I don't sh'ink I could answer zh'at." Sasha replied, looking away.
"Because everything I've ever done was for her." he said, continuing his thought as if she had never answered. "I would do anything for her." His eyes flickered slightly as the visions of that day played in his mind. "Anything." A trickle of orange left his eye and rolled down his cheek.
Sasha took in a deep breath as she watched the boy's molten tear harden to rock. "You were just a keed, zh'en." she placed a comforting hand on his head, but only for a moment. "Love makes you crazy sometimes." Sasha bit her lip and looked away at her last comment. s**t, zh'at's not what I meant!
Mike smiled. "Hm-hm-hm. It's okay. I know what you meant. Everyone says that I shouldn't blame myself, but they don't know what it's like. They haven't seen the things that I've seen." Once again, his eyes became fixed on his own reflection. Sasha could only imagine what horrible things he was seeing. She was far too afraid to ask.
"Almost done." Sasha said as she resumed her brushing.
"But that is why this must be done. I must work on fixing my future rather than living in the past."
"Aren't you scared?" Sasha asked as she put the brush away and produced a damp cloth.
"Scared? HA-HA!" Mike laughed.
"What if you get hurt?" Sasha knelt down in front of the boy, concern in her eyes as she gently wiped his cheek, the motion welcomed by a faint trail of steam and a quiet hiss. Mike'e eye twitched. Sasha pulled the cloth away, gasping at the red mark she just made on his face. "I'm sorry!" she cried. "Je suis désolé! J'ai oublié!"
"It's okay." Mike said, bringing his hand to his cheek. In a flash of fire, the mark was gone. "I'm not afraid. What happens to me is of no consequence. My safety is unimportant. I don't care what everyone thinks of me, only her. You don't think I see how you look at me now, Sasha? I frighten you. I know I do." He looked into her eyes. He saw her tremble, however slight.
"It's not zh'at I am afraid you'll hurt me or anysh'ing," Sasha said defensively, trying to maintain eye contact. "I just-"
Mike put up his hand. "Like I said, it doesn't matter. You have my word that I would never do anything to harm you intentionally. Whether that puts you at ease or not is up to you. I know how I look, and what I am. But it's okay. It's all okay.
"I wish I could say something to make zh'is all better, Mike."
"I choose to be ugly so she has the chance to be beautiful."

As Robin watched the battle she couldn't help but be impressed by both of the pokemon there. Though of course Robin was always impressed with her own pokemon's creativity and adaptivity to any situation she threw them into, and she threw them into a lot. What impressed her about the Bidoof though what that no mater what Ace seemed to throw at it she seemed to be ready to take it on. If there was one thing Robin liked a lot it had to be someone who had the courage to face down whatever life threw at them. Still even if she did like the Bidoof she still wanted Ace to win. Wincing slightly as she watched Ace get hit with that Rollout Robin still had faith that her pokemon could pull it out in the end.
Ok that had hurt a bit, Ace winced as he did his best to ignore the pain where he had been hit. Shaking it off the best that he could Ace kept an eye on the speedy rolling Bidoof. His Mach Punch hadn't knocked her down like he had wanted it to but it seemed to have hurt her a bit though. Well, considering he had the advantage here he considered it a fair trade off. He still had to think of something pretty soon though or he would get hit by the other pokemon's next pass. Nothing was coming to mind though and Ace was running out of time quickly. Deciding to just throw caution to the wind the Monferno dashed forward wanting to meet the Bidoof head on in a test, his Mach Punch vs Bidoof's Rollout.

The Pecha Berry was sweet, delicious and juicy. Akane had split it with Twinkers and the pair had finished off breakfast with half a chocolate dipped granola bar each. Colandra had refused to eat the food offered to her, Akane then recalling the tired looking Oddish with a heartfelt "Good job Colandra, you earned some rest" coming from the young trainer. The next job was rolling up her sleeping bag and struggling to get it back in its carrying case - why was it always so hard to get back in there? Finally, with everything packed up and the two friends fed and rested, it was time to get moving ... assuming they could figure out which way they should be headed.
Akane tried to remember which way they had been trudging during the night, but everything looked very different during the day. The lateness of the morning - perhaps 10am - and the forest canopy gave the young trainer a little trouble figuring where west was, but after a while she had decided upon a direction and struck out for what she hoped was civilization with her bandanna clad Clefairy following along behind.
Akane considered trying to catch a Caterpie during her walk - she did see a few of them up in the trees she had passed, along with Weedle and their respective chrysalis stages. She didn't particularly like bug Pokemon, though Butterfree and Beautifly were possibly the only exceptions she was willing to make. But the time didn't seem right somehow, her instinct was telling her not to try yet. It certainly was an odd feeling but avoiding the creepy bug Pokemon and continuing on her way seemed like the right thing to do.

The poor (real) Paras was still a little shaken up from having its Stun Spore thrown right back in its face, and it struggled to fight off the paralysis that had been inflicted on it. Its twin mushrooms began to quiver, and this time it sent a cloud of ominous, purple spores at the phony Paras, its round little eyes narrowed in determination. Ditto, while immune to the effects of paralysis, wasn't so lucky when it came to poison, and it let out a small cry as the poisonous spores settled on its body. Ditto could already feel the poison weakening him and he scuttled back, suddenly not so eager to continue this. 'Okay, I really need that Pokedex now,' Jasper thought, scratching his chin. He held the empty Pokeball at the ready, but had no intentions of throwing it just yet. "C'mon, Ditto, get in there and rough 'im up!" the boy called impatiently.
Ditto nodded, and scuttled forward, still quicker than his paralyzed foe. The copycat Pokemon reared back and slashed away with its claws, landing a relatively solid hit on the real Paras. It growled and shook a little, looking as though it were going to strike back for all of a split second before it cowered and backed off, the paralysis making movements nearly impossible. "That was a good attack, Ditto," Jasper encouraged. "Do it again!" The Transform Pokemon was a little less energetic and eager to attack this time around as the poison took another hit at his stamina, but he quickly regained his composure and charged forward (as best a crab/bug/mushroom thing could) and once again tore into his foe.
Jasper saw the Paras stagger a bit, and he decided that now would be his best opportunity to try and capture the weakened Pokemon. "Outta the way, buddy, it's my turn now," the youth said as his Pokemon backed away from the cowering Paras. Jasper took a deep breath and carefully lobbed the red and white sphere at the mushroomy Pokemon. Jasper was surprised that his aim was good as he watched the dual Bug/Grass-type disappear in a flash of red light. The Pokeball fell to the grass with a soft thud, wiggling back and forth as the captive within struggled to break free. It would be of little use, however, as the sphere gave a loud clicking sound, and then it was still. Both Jasper and Ditto stared at it for a good five minutes before the reality of their first capture settled in, though before Jasper could claim his new Pokemon, Ditto slumped to the ground, still suffering from the poison.

"...I didn't think Hypnosis did that..." Jett's soft mutter only reached his own ears as he watched with interested eyes while the little mouse disappeared. He was slightly genre savvy, though, and the typical horror movie scream was on the tip of his tongue. Watch out! Behind you!
But Jett could not find the words or the time to speak, and Athena let out a surprised cry as she was knocked forward. The little ball of feathers just rolled forward before skidding on that lone foot. She slowly glared up at Cindy, and then looked to Jett. "Hoot." If the final boss is who I think it is, then you will be sorely disappointed, Rat. This won't go unpunished!
"Uproar," Jett called helpfully, and Athena was glad her trainer was intelligent enough to know what a good move would be. Maybe poor Cindy would get startled... So the Hoothoot seemed to inflate, inhaling as much air as possible. ...And then a bloodcurdling screech came from that open beak and her whole body quivered. She began to hop up and down angrily, the sound waves rattling the pebbles at her foot. "Hoothoot!" It would only get worse from here, Athena knew. And boy, was she excited for it to get worse.

“Good hit, Cindy!” Scarlet said with a grin as Athena tumbled forward. Though he did have to admit, this was a pretty frightening little Hoothoot. It was gonna take a hell of a lot of effort to beat. But he was confident that his little team would be able to pull off a- Oh my god, what is that horrible sound, how could any living creature make a wail like- OH. SO THAT’S WHY THEY CALL IT HOOTHOOT. … Or is that because it’s an owl…?
Cindy’s already squinted eyes shut tighter as she slapped her paws over her ears. “Quiiiiiil!” she screamed as loud as she could to try and snap her trainer out of his idiot trance. But that would be sort of difficult, considering Athena was literally screaming so loudly that it hurt. So, she simply shot a glare at him.
“… OH. OH. SORRY, CINDY. UM. TRY AN EMBER! QUICK!” Scarlet yelled at the top of his lungs, simply hoping and praying that maybe Cindy could pick up the part with the fire, and the burning. It didn’t look like it was getting through, so Scarlet slapped his hands together into a ball, ripping them apart to simulate an explosion.
She got that part. The flames on her back kicked into high gear, and with a quick inhalation, she spat a fireball at that horrid creature that was making such an uproar.

Jett's mouth was set in a solid frown, his right hand trembling slightly. "Damn Whismur," he said with a forced tone. He allowed himself a moment to close his eyes and focus. I won't lose.
While her trainer was trying to get his confidence back, Athena paused her call. Well, it was sort of interrupted because there was a fireball coming right for her. She really didn't like fire ever since some nasty little Growlithe had tried to attack her last week... so the Owl Pokemon did that whole cannonball thing and shot into the air with her little foot.
Apparently, she hadn't used enough force, and Jett was snapped from his trance by the irritated shriek of his Hoothoot. Athena tumbled to the ground; the Ember had grazed her and now she tried to hop around in circles to clear herself of the heat. "Attack!" Jett called with a viciousness that could match a Gyarados'. "Use Pe--"
Athena began her Uproar once more, letting her fury add to her screeching power. She began to hop toward Cindy while continuing Uproar, trying to do some more damage by getting even closer. That'll teach her to burn one-footed owls!

Katie took her map out of her bag and checked it, trying to decide upon the best way to get from here to Veilstone City. No matter what she decided, it would be a rather long journey, though she had to decide now if she wanted to go south down Cycling Road (which would require a bicycle) or east through Route 211 and Mt. Coronet. Either way, she'd have to pass through the region-dividing mountain; it was just a matter of if she wanted to do that now, or later. 'I imagine there'd be many rocks and boulders in our path, and Genki can use Rock Smash but I'm sure there are boulders too big for that,' the girl thought as she folded her map. There would also be a problem if she couldn't get her hands on a bicycle, as they would not let her walk on Cycling Road.
"I could always go buy one, I suppose," the girl mumbled, but she quickly dismissed that idea, as she knew they'd cost more than she could afford at the moment. She sighed and sat down on the curb, very much annoyed that Veilstone City was so very far away. Even the train was significantly out of her way, and she honestly didn't feel like backtracking through the Eterna Forest. "Looks like we're stuck," she grumbled, leaning back on her hands and looking up at the sky. It was getting close to lunch time but Katie was too annoyed at the situation to feel hungry. She took her badge case out of her bag and opened it, looking down at the two badges sitting side by side. Her match with Roark hadn't been too difficult, though she still had to be careful. Gardenia proved to be much tougher than she thought, even with the clear advantage, but that only worsened the orange haired girl's sour mood. Perhaps the fact that her next gym match was so far away was a good thing. The next gym leader would probably wipe the floor with her.

Cindy gritted her teeth, taking another hit from that horrible pokemon’s horrible screeching scream. It was giving her a headache, and it was literally all she could do not to just tackle it and punch it and do horrible things to it. But something inside her told her the fire would be much more satisfying. So, without waiting for Scarlet’s approval (like he wasn’t going to tell her to anyway,) she inhaled, flames on her back flaring violently like a living bed of red hot needles. Another fireball corkscrewed out, aimed at the base of Athena’s body. Cindy had no problems setting one legged owls on fire.
In the meantime, Scarlet looked over at Jett, cupping his hands over his mouth. “HEY! YOUR HOOTHOOT IS REALLY LOUD. IS SHE ALWAYS THIS LOUD?”
