"Pika-!!" Pikachu cried out, as he was sent flying backwards a bit, landing a skid on the ground. He stood firmly on his feet, though, and tried to shake off the pain left over from the attack.
"Hang in there, Pikachu! Tarath, use Slash on Alakazam!!" Train yelled, a small smile twitching at the corner of her lips as she realized that they were on the verge of beating Notaro.

Notaro sighed, recalling his Alakazam with a grimace. Looks like he had lost. True he was outnumbered, but any defeat left a bitter taste.
Not that things hadn't gone according to plan.
"Looks like I did my job brilliantly," Notaro smirked, despite the defeat. He looked up to the altar, where the cloaked figure now stood, holding the blade before him, smirk present even under the cover of his cowl.
"Indeed you have, Notaro, and I thank you for your support," the figure pulled back the hood, revealing crimson hair and piercing eyes. The Dragonair fluttered next to him, landing silently and curling about itself, staring at the group.
"My pleasure, Master Lance," Notaro smirked, before turning, taking his leave from the cavern as the sea of grunts subsequently parted and closed behind him. More out of fear than respect, but the effect was pretty much the same, he'd found out long ago.
Lance turned to regard the group, still holding the blade, smirking slightly.
"I really must thank you, especially you, young prince. After all, without your efforts, this blade wouldn't have been able to be whole once more," he murmured, running his hand down the shaft of the hilt, before nodding.
"Yes, I must give you my most sincere thanks."

"This isn't good... not at all..." he muttered, as Cali bristled, growling a low "Umbraaaaaaa," more than a bit perturbed.
"Can't you see how many lives this sword has already ruined!?" he shouted, as bravely as he could muster. After all Lance could wipe the floor with him, he wasn't the Champion for nothing...
"That sword is not worth the pain it causes. Whatever power it holds, its not worth the price!" he insisted, tails twitching agitatedly, "The guardians separated the blade with good reason!"

"Lance?!" Chloe gulped. Not wanting to delay much longer, she paused but a moment, before calling out Kaze. The Charizard roared, sensing the danger in the air, eager to join in as Chloe climbed on his back.
Then he realized he was in a cave. Bucking wildly for a moment, Chloe almost lost her grip of the Charizard as he spun, seeking an escape, but finding none. After a moment's reassurance from Chloe, the Charizard calmed, however still wasn't too pleased with being in a cavern this soon after the incident in the Dragon's Den.
Once she was sure that Kaze wouldn't flip again, Chloe guided the Charizard down, grabbing hold of Sasha and pulling her up on the Charizard's back as Kaze soared over the grunts circling around the center altar. He swooped lower for a moment, grabbing hold of one of Mian's blades gingerly with his teeth before taking off again, making their way over the gathered crowd.
"Sorry Mian, this might be a bit quicker!" Chloe apologized to the Gallade, hoping he didn't mind the flight.
It took only a moment, before the Charizard landed behind the group of friends, Chloe sliding off Kaze's back as she finally caught up to the others.

The dragon master laughed outright at Nona's response. "You are such an amusing bunch," he admitted.
Lance regarded Kaya's request, "I'm afraid I can't 'crawl in a hole and die,'" he smirked, "After all this trouble to complete this," he held up the blade, "I feel it would be such a waste of effort to simply keel over."
"And I'd have to say this is well worth the cost. After all, it hasn't cost me anything but the time and effort to order these Teams around. A request from the Champion is a hard order to ignore, after all. This position of boredom does have its uses occasionally," Lance continued, smirk still present.
"With this, all my plans can continue without hitch..."
