Shane woke up, the sun and surf both on his face. He had slept a little to close to the water on the beach, his face was now soaked with foaming water, as well as a good bit of seaweed. He walked over to his pack and took out a rag to clean off his face. He walked over and picked some berries to eat, as well as a couple of eggs from a large bird's nest, when the bird was absent, of course. He cracked the eggs into a pan made from the fire he had just made. They smelled fantastic! He had a few berries, sweet, yet tart. He finished up the berries and plated the eggs. He was full, he hoped soemone else would get up soon to eat them.

Dahlia roused, the smell of food cooking and the crackling of the flame too overbearing to ignore. She sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"Why, good morning," she greeted the man she had met yesterday.

"Eggs?" Shane said, almost forcing the eggs on her. "Hurry, or they will get cold." Shane said, almost puching the plate on her. He blushed. "Sorry, I just hate being wasteful." He said, looking at Dahlia.

Dahlia nodded and smiled. "Thank you for breakfast then," she said as she accepted the plate.
She took a bite and grinned. "It's very good. Nice cooking skills," she mused.

"Its the magic, it makes everything taste better. So, when did you decide to fight Cruxis? It couldn't have been something where you just woke up and said 'Hey, I think I'll go risk my life fighting deadly angels.' Or was it..." Shane said, looking at Dahlia, his eyebrow raised and his fingers stroking his chin.

Dahlia swallowed the bite of eggs she had just shoved into her mouth. She gave a small cough.
"It's... almost kind of like that. Only, I decided it the night before, not when I woke up," Dahlia said, feeling a little embarrassed.
"I'm not looking to seek glory and fame for myself, if that's what you're thinking," she added hastily. "I just hate the way it's making the world. I hate how it's changing people," she said in a soft tone. It sounded as though she was just trying to make excuses for herself.
Suddenly - Dahlia didn't seem so sure of the whole deal anymore.

"You know, Cruxis is using the giant tree's mana to create magitechnology, technology using mana to run itself, making it almost everlasting, to attack us now. Things will not be easy from here on out. Do you want to risk it all for the sake of the world? Are you prepared to die for this cause?" Shane asked her, a serious look on his face.

She took quiet steps towards the spirit in front of her. It had taken quite a bit of her time to get the spirit just that close to her. Once it had been summoned, it had darted back nervously whenever she took a step towards it. Perhaps it sensed her overwhelming aura - or perhaps it just sensed her intentions.
Lania's eyes gazed dreamily at the spirit.
"I wish to use you, my little spirit. Would you be willing to help me?" she spoke in a soft whisper. Her lips parted slightly and curved into a delighted smile. "I promise... I will use you to bring the Cruxis' immeasurable success."
Lania's delighted smile grew wider as the spirit agreed and initiated the fight.

Dahlia heard his words, and immediately recalled similar words of warning from her Master the morning she had left Hima.
"I... know. I'm not good at fighting against magic, but I'm a fast learner. I do not want to boast, or seem egotistical, but I am very skilled at using the sword," Dahlia continued, a blush spreading across her face.
"Although... I'm not so sure of that now, after fighting with that gentleman there," and with a casual wave of her arm Dahlia motioned towards the tent where Alex was sleeping, "...but I can try. And I will help you as much as I can. And yes - I'm prepared to give my life up," Dahlia finished her thoughts, and fell into silence - as though saying those things had tired her out immensely.

"Magic uses boast the ranks of Cruxis, almost every angel has some magic to offer. Later, you and I will spar, I need to see your ability to counter magic." Shane said, closing his eyes and shook his head in the 'yes' way.
((You need a spirit, I'll give you Efreet, the spirit of fire. He uses fire magic and fire based melee attacks.))

The elf smiled and dodged another attack from the spirit. After examining its attacks for a few minutes, Lania had confirmed that it was indeed a fire spirit.
And so... "Aqua Edge," Lania hissed. She directed attacks after attacks upon the spirit while dodging its attempts to attack her. The spirit managed to have a hit scratch the side of her arm. Displeased, Lania had attacked more ferociously until the spirit was forced to submit.
"Efreet," Lania spoke, enjoying the sound of her spirit's name. It sunk low in defeat and accepted the elf as its master for the time being.
