Sable blinked, glancing over as one of the teachers -he assumed the man was a teacher, anyways- started to speak. Was he assigning groups? Oh! He should pay attention, then. Maybe he'd get paired off with RuiZhi, that would be nice. Audun wouldn't be that bad either...he wasn't exactly fond of the man, but at least he knew him and the other was...remotely friendly. Could he even be considered remotely friendly? Well, at least he knew him.

The black-haired man stood silently, watching as the man paired two of the professors with two of the students. Weiyuan and Rylenn. RuiZhi's brother and his...well, whatever they were. He could only assume the status of their relationship. It didn't matter. It wasn't his business. Suddenly, the man who had taken charge looked at him. He had called him 'sir'? Did he qualify as a 'sir'? He just nodded dumbly, glancing over at the pair of boys. Them? They had completely failed to recognize his existance. All they were concerned with was...well, he wasn't exactly sure what, but it flustered RuiZhi enough to make him leave. Sable sighed. Oh well. Maybe he just caught them in a bad light. It was better to not form opinions before he gathered enough data.

That left the professors. He didn't even know which of the lot they were! Sable sighed again, pushing his glasses up. Well, he should probably join Rylenn and Weiyuan, then. He glanced around and upon spotting them, walked over. "...hey."

Elijah smiled to the other understanding completely what he was asked. "Sure thing. But I don't think I'll punch you," he answered, knowing it was a joke in the first place. In truth, Elijah wasn't a chatter box at all and often found himself growing silent and observant around other people instead of joining in directly.

He looked to Herei as he assigned groups together and was glad when he heard the group he and RuiZhi were going to be put into. In fact, the boy knew Miss Irame; he had met her the first day at the school campus but since then hadn't been in contact with her. It would certainly make things go a lot smoother. Hearing her call for the two boys he walked over toward her only to extend his hand when he reached her in friendly greeting.

"That's great! We'll get along just fine then." RuiZhi gave a full grin, pleased. He didn't necessarily want to be talking during the whole ordeal, but he didn't want the other to think he'd be ignoring him, either. His attention turned to the Advisor as he started to speak, feeling a silent thrill at his placement; not only would he be paired with Elijah, but he'd get to be with the pretty Irame and enigmatic Mr. Herei, too! And Lina no less! He didn't know her personally, but having heard about her from Alex, he felt like she was an old friend.

His smile softened as Irame called to them, prompting him to move forward with Elijah towards her. He folded his hands back into his sleeves, really quite content with the match up. Sure, he wanted to meet Doctor Kenth, and of course he wanted to be with his brother, but the new faces and the not-so-familiar were also welcome. RuiZhi was the type to roll with the punches, content to make the best out of what hand was dealt to him.

Rylenn looked at Sable. He smiled gently and waved. "Hello there.." He blushed brightly. He instantly went to Sable's side. He was.. very very off and he didn't like it. He looked at the man and Dante. "Dante.." He was.. relieved that he was with the elf. "I'm glad." He said honestly. He looked down and wriggled. He... hoped that Dante would see how off kilter he was and he could take Rylenn to the side and talk to him for a bit. Not before the sweep though. Maybe after.

"So.. what do we need to do?"

Audun placed his hand under his chin for a moment as the other man was speaking, and once the groups where announced his mind blanked a bit as he tried to place who he was going with. No one he knew, obviously, as he only knew four people and they had already gone off to join their respective cliques.

He was with the 'doctor' and the 'lady', whom he took meant to be the angry looking man and the woman who was clearly friends with Lina. Oh, but then he did notice that Farlest was coming along, the youth from before who spoke more than one language and had caught a slight bit of an 'uh' from Audun's interest meter. That was a bit of comfort.

He took a few steps over towards the doctor and the woman, his eyes down in an effort to not really show any overly open emotions - not that any would have come to the surface anyway. As he finally approached, he didn't openly speak right away, but only bowed his head slightly. Better to be taken for an idiot than for an a*****e.

"....My regards."

Huh. When RuiZhi's brother wasn't with him, Rylenn seemed very...fragile. Sable couldn't help but offer him a small smile, shuffling a little closer. He didn't mind sharing his personal space. He probably didn't even have a 'personal space bubble' -or whatever the hell it was called- these days. He watched the redhead quietly for a moment. "...I'm to assume you know him, then? Do you know the other teacher?" A pause. Which one was he talking about, exactly? "...er...who's who?" He pushed his glasses up his nose, feeling that much sillier.

The lab tech shrugged at the next question. "I don't know. I think I'm probably on the same level as you, knowledge wise." He didn't get told anything. It was probably because he was an independent source, or something like that. He didn't really have a reason to be here. Enough reason to make them suspicious, or not entirely trusting, or whatever. It didn't matter. Hopefully, the pair of teachers assigned to the would inform them before setting off on this mission to save the world.

Sable glanced back over at the student and frowned. Something didn't sit right with that kid. "...you okay?"

Alex shifted her gaze from the boys to the young man assigned to travel with them. He seemed polite enough, and had about as much to say as Kenth; maybe they'd actually get along! Her real concern now was how to reply to something as vague and impersonal as 'my regards.' "Alex," she said simply, extending a hand to the man. She'd seen him with Sable, but even the shy young man had seemed uncertain about their partner. If all went well, he'd at least be easy to work with rather than problematic. The last thing she needed at this point was something else to rage about.

"This is Farlest and Ka'hmesh, although I couldn't tell you which is which," she winked at the boys before smiling at Audun, "and the unhappy gentlemen up there is Doctor Kenth." Just one big disfunctional family, right here.

DAY 2 HAS ENDED.
====================================================

No private RPs from day 2 are allowed to continue beyond this point. The starting of day three will be under the assumption that everyone has intrudoced to each other in their sub-groups, and that they are on their way to the forest.

Rylenn looked at Sable, amazed that he was being talked to. "I know Professor Dante. He's the elf." He said quietly. "I don't quite know the other one. I've met him in passing, but I never learned his name." He smiled gently at the other until the other asked if he was okay. He coughed and looked down.

"I.. I er... uh..."

Pistol...check.

Magazine clips....check.

Extra hair ties...check.

.....about four packages of Pocky squirreled away for personal use...check.

Lina clipped her gunholder on and shoved her pistol into it. Her green eyes, though dull and tired, seemed oddly steely and determined as she stood at the entrance to the complex.

She wasn't the first one here--it appeared that Kenth, Dante, and Irame had arrived before her as she leaned against a wall. But she hadn't been the last one, and for that she was grateful.

In the corner, Dante drew himself out of his meditative restful state and opened his impossibly-blue eyes, looking up from where he was cross-legged on the floor.

In about a half hour he'd be in the forest, responsible for the lives of two students while trying to keep Professor Larine in line. That man...he was infuriating to no end. He merely hoped he himself had the maturity to ignore him.

"We are going to split up in three groups. Herei will take his group to cross from the far left side of the forest, and Dante will take his group to the far right. As for myself, I will take my group through the middle since both me and Alex know the route that dives directly into the forest. It took us approximately 18 hours for the entire trip, so I expect the groups to merge within 2 days. Be very careful, and teachers and adults should especially take care of the children. However, you should also take some note of the surroundings. Mark anything out of ordinary."

That was the command that Kenth gave to the others. For now, Kenth checked to make sure that he brought his notebook and pen. He had a small knife in his pocket as well in case of self-defense. Although Kenth doubt that the tiny weapon would do him any good. One, it was too small to do any substantial damage, and two, Kenth doubt that he knew how to use the knife properly...perhaps HE would, but not him.

The young doctor sighed and stuffed everything in his pocket and walked to the gate, where the other people of his group were already waiting.

"We are ready."

Alex barely repressed a shudder, staring glumly at nothing. She knew in her heart they'd be back at that awful place, the one she had bid an unfond farewell to, the one that had started this whole mess. She knew it would all come full circle there, she could feel it in her bones; her only comfort was that it was her group heading into the heart of hell, and not the others. The woman took a deep, slow breath, her weary gaze shifting over her assigned group.

Farlest, the black-haired boy that had brought back some old memories. He was sweet enough, and seemed to be fond of the other boy, Ka'hmesh. The robin-egg blue haired boy was very silent, but gentle with his more exuberant friend. Alex couldn't help but wonder if there was more there, but she certainly wasn't going to ask. There was Audun, the equally silent and somewhat aloof man that seemed as mystified to his reason for being here as the rest of them were. And then there was...Kenth. He wouldn't look at her, wouldn't even address her properly; either he sincerely hated her or he didn't want her around. Either way, she was keeping her distance, almost wishing she could have gone with Lina or Greg...almost.

She exhaled quietly, steeling herself for what was ahead. She had to be strong, for all the people involved, especially if they had to go inside that forsaken place. Usually, Alex would have made some snarky comment for Kenth to lead on, or to make sure the rest of the group was ready; this time, she kept to herself, her dark and brooding gaze fixed towards their destination.

Dante nodded.

....Now if only the THREE children that he was charging would appear....

Lina spotted Alex and smiled broadly, waving. "Hey! Alex! Listen, I'll see you in eighteen hours, okay!? So be sure to stay safe!"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 06, 2007 1:17 pm

Alex blinked languidly and looked towards her friend, a slow and easy smile forming on her face. She had to remind herself that sometimes, being strong was smiling when you didn't think you could. The woman waved back, grinning now, turning to look for her younger brother. She spotted RuiZhi walking towards Irame and Lina, still looking peacefully oblivious to the dangers at hand. The woman snaked her arm out and caught the boy, curling him against her.

"Watch out for this one, will you? He's kinda important to me!"

RuiZhi had been minding his own business, making his way towards his teachers and commrades. He was ready to get started, to move forward, to do what was necessary to put the tainted land to rest. Or so was his mind frame before his sister so rudely yanked him out of his thoughts with a big sisterly hug. The boy squeaked in protest, "Jiejie! (Big Sister!)"

"Didi (Little Brother)," she returned playfully, "" Alex rested her hand on his cap, releasing him from her clutches. "Above all, be ready, and be safe." She dropped her hand to tweak his nose playfully, smiling.

RuiZhi blinked at Alex, hearing the words she meant but didn't say. He could hear the concern, and knew she was worried from whatever had happened in the bunker. The boy nodded once, smiling as she played with his nose; she was probably the only person besides Weiyuan that he didn't mind being so affectionate. Well, there was Rylenn, too, but...best to think of that later. "I will, Sister," he said solemnly, waving and turning to jog towards the group.

Alex watched him go, moving her eyes to Lina as he joined the group. "Take care of yourself!" she called to her friend, waving again.

"Aren't you having fun?" Kenth muttered, not minding his obvious sacrastic tone. "There is a possiblity that you might not see him again, too."

Having reached the gate, Kenth looked at the other four memebers, and turned to look at RuiZhi running off. He couldn't help but to relate the future of these students. Their life was too short to be wasted in this...chaos.

Not that he CARED. It was their fault to come here in the first place. It was just getting rather annoying with these sentimentalities flowing around as if everyone thought of this as a joke. He didn't expect people to look as solemn as himself, but at least they'd....

He didn't know what to expect of them. And Kenth told himself to stop wasting his thoughts on these useless observations. He needed to clear his head from now on. Sentimentality won't save lives.

"But enough with that, let's get going."

Kenth didn't wait for others reply before he stomped out of the gate. Feeling the cool wind brushing against his cheeks, he sighed, and looked out at the vast barren land, and the small mass of green at the end of his sight.

Might was well, there was no time to loose.
