Hi All,

I'm new here. I'm a married mom to three children ages 9 boy, 7 girl and 4 boy. heart heart heart heart

My 9 y.o. boy has ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. We were told R also has Sensory Integration Disorder since the age of three.

My 7 y.o. girl has ADHD with and emphasis on hyperactivity. E currently has a working diagnosis of early-onset bipolar disorder, which scares the daylights out of me.

My 4 y.o. boy seems quite active, but we're not really experiencing any difficulties with him at preschool. J loves to be silly.

Thanks for welcoming me to the group. 3nodding Does anyone here have kids with any of the same issues question

Aww, teething really does make them a different person. I hope it gets better.

*sends sleep vibes*

Fletchen, I admit I don't know much about some of those either, but I pop in here from time to time to chat!

My eldest daughter Amber has a mild form of epilepsy. She had her first seizure at the age of 2. She's had cat scans and EEG's done *the sleep deprived EEG was hard...she went to bed at her usual time, then I had to wake her up at midnight and keep her up until her appointment at the hospital at 8 in the morning User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.*...the seizures come front the frontal lobe of the brain so her seizures are pretty mild...she doesn't convulse, she just becomes like a bunch of putty...she can't control her arms/legs/head, they just flop to the side. Her eyes are open and dialated and her jaw gets clenched and she moans a little, but that's it...I'm very thankful that she doesn't have convulsions neutral .

She's been on med's for a couple of years now and she hasn't had a seizure since she was 3 smile

Thanks for the warm welcome. wink

I admit that it's sometimes difficult keeping up with all of the "disorders/disabilities" labeled out there.

Here's some info on Sensory Processing Disorder: SPD Network- FAQs These are children that have difficulty processing sensory information.

As for the bipolar disorder, my daughter was being treated for just her ADHD (emphasis on hyperactivity) and as a result of being placed on a higher dose of antidepressant - she was pushed into a manic state. Here's some info on early-onset bipolar disorder CABF Learning Center

I think I have a lot of reading to do here to catch up on everyone and what they're dealing with. redface

Thanks funky monkey! I'll look for some pics to post. stare ADHD tends to run in families. I was diagnosed last year with adult ADHD. neutral

So what other disorders does your son have? How old is he?

Tessie - Is the seizure disorder called "William's"? I'm a bit confused.
sweatdrop

That sounds so scary, I can't imagine what that must seem like seeing your daughter seize like that. eek I think I'd feel completely powerless! cry You must be very strong!
