Sunstrike's jaw clenched and unclenched, again in irritation. But he'd been right earlier...there was something "different" about Hibon. Those ruins...godsdamnit Vahn I hope that whatever you sent them to prepared them for this...
He didn't argue, that last reaction and thought was as he was running, dodging around the two fighters, Nahara cradled in his arms, but he wasn't a fool. There were two of them after all, and Hibon wouldn't be able to cope for long against...that...thing....
And Nahara...I need to put her back together...
"s**t..." He muttered again.
The two men would see him take off around a corner, dust kicked up as he ran.

"YAAAH--!" Rearing his right fist back, as he reached the apex of his leap and gravity regained it's hold over him, he twisted his hips and came out with a mid-air roundhouse sweep, his right leg sweeping with uncanny speed. "You think this whole mess will be washed away and forgotten just with silence? EH" Vahn bellowed out.
His leg would go above the length of the spear, which would miss cutting into him only by a serious inch.
If the strike connected cleanly, the motion would force Vahn's body to spiral earthwards, landing with spread legs, his greaves digging into the ground.
If not, it would send both bodies colliding into each other, only to crash back onto the ground.
~~
"Ezekiel!! Are these the guys?!" Samuel bellowed out once more, this time not even looking back, his foot still held by Hibon's hands.
"...Samuel. It seems like your discerning ability needs some serious work." Ezekiel said smoothly, both his hands stuffed into the pockets of his white slacks. "Honestly...you should be able to tell from a single glance." His yellowed eyes stared mercilessly, and deadpanned, towards the three of them. "They're nothing but trash. Every single one of them."
"Got it!!!" Samuel grinend that gorilla grin, as he pulled his leg back, and Hibon reared back, left arm raised and his right fist pistoning forward, the muscles in his body straining to the max as he gave off a fierce growl never heard from him before.
A sickening crunch, and blood splattered everywhere... Hibon's body slumping forward for a moment, and then slamming backwards, blood flying everywhere, as Samuel lowered his own hand.
Hibon's entire right arm was mangled beyond recognition, and litterally stil connected to his body by muscle and what remained of the bone in his arm.
"Ezekiel~~~~" Samuel said softly, that gorilla smile widening. "That guy running away...is he trash too?"

Better then expected. If the knight had any blood he just might've spat some up, but this was not the case. The kick connected with his left side and he went barreling to the right, heavy boots pushing hard into the wall of a house before kicking off with a sort of kamikaze dive. This was no simple lackey now flying down towards the soldier's back, spear pointed forwards. The sheer force of his kick off the building ripped his cloak right off. His body was coated in a pitch black metal. Obviously not of the earthly plains of Gaia, for there were no openings except for his hands and head. It flowed with the movements of the knight, reflecting off lights that weren't there, absorbing the shine of others.
Flowmetal was the best term for it. Two inches of steel water. A gift from his dark masters. The ghouls remained silent, they weren't required, certainly not yet. It was a thrill, the air rushing across his face. The hero was a challenge, something he could enjoy, no mere lackey. Blue eyes burnt brightly.

Vahn straightened back up, arms at his sides as he hunched forward only slightly this time. A wicked grin spread across his face, as he stared at the incoming spear wielder. "...So you still wanna fight huh?"
If there was a meter for cockiness, then it just jumped up a few notches. It seemed as if to Vahn time were slowing down, as he steadily began running forward, even as his opponent continued careening downwards. "Then I'll teach you guys how to say 'I apologize' or 'I'm sorry' or 'I won't do it again'!"
Time picked up again, and now it seemed to fastforward-- although in reality time had flowed on with disruption. And with another foot stomp, Vahn took to the air to mee this opponent head on, bringing both greaves up, in the same manner as a drop kick; aimed right for the guy's head.
"Herrrro Kick!"

The buildings were yet again a blur as Sunstrike moved. He was sure that he wasn't nearly far enough from those two yet, but he had to do something about the girl.
Skidding to a halt he leaned down, sitting her up against a wall. She was shaking, her otherwise bright green eyes blurred by what she'd encountered.
"Nahara," He spoke softly, brushing her hair out of her face and pulling his goggles away from his eyes. She looked at him hollowly and Sunstrike tsked. He had no time...
His fist slammed against the wall, chipping some of it off and opening the skin of his knuckles. Blood dripping he drew a quick semi circle with it around her, then he put a mark on her forehead, a circle with a strange letter transcribed over it, before placing the heel of his hand against the same small etching. His eyes glowed and swirled before her. Gods I hope I have enough back for this....
Then, something stirred in his mind, making him grin. There you are, you coy b*****d...where've you been?! The salamander didn't respond, which was alright by him...it had woken up, that meant there was significant power to mess with. Sunstrike could see through Nahara with this magic. He could see her own, inner magic holding on in desperation to the tattered spirit that had nearly become unhinged.
Shifting slightly, he moved closer and began to ease open the right doors to her mind with the spell worked with his blood. A haze of red mixed with orange, Sunstrike's own magic, swirled outwards, and then spiked into the girl as he drove her soul back into her body. But as he did, something strange happened. There was too much magic...behind the doors something had already replaced the amount that had been holding onto her, so when he shoved her soul back in, it shoved back, at him.
There was an explosion and with a loud crack and a gasp Sunstrike ended up on the opposite wall, smoking. "********..." He said...then giggled. He really should have expected....
Then he hunched over himself. Pain igniting all through his body. Too much....he'd taken too much magic into himself. The smoke wasn't from the explosion. He was changing...

Sacrificing the chance to land a blow on Vahn the knight shifted his position in the air. Instead of the foot dropping unpleasantly onto his head it would ram somewhat harmlessly into his shoulder. The spear would unavoidbly shift direction away from the soldier while the kick drove him downwards towards the ground.
The flowmetal sizzled slightly as the knight's feet found their balance on the earth, but remained undamaged. He shifted into a comfortable stance, rotating the shoulder that took the kick slightly to work out any kinks while waiting for Vahn's own landing. The spear was proving a little unwieldly against the opponent. At least when they went through the leap, attack, regroup, repeat pattern. Maybe the weapon would prove more valuable in actual ground combat.

No... Nahara stared forward, her vision blurring in and out of focus randomly. The heavy, weighty feeling had long since departed her body, thanks to whatever Sunstrike had done, but she still felt even more uneasy.
She could feel the strands of art that swirled and mixed, the temperal disturbance in the flow of that power that granted the ability called "magic".
The momentary connection that appeared through the both of them worked both ways...a nd while Sunstrike was busy trying to keep her soul from brekaing to peices... the things she saw...
...No... The loud crack, and the smoking wall as Sunstrike lay there... and she could feel the distrubance rising. "..N-No... please... don't change... please..."
~~
What the hell IS this thing? He'd already landed back on the ground, the force of the connecting blows allowing him to merely somersault backwards onto both feet. He hunched forward slightly, his teeth gritting as he stared towards his opponent. He doesn't even seem to be getting hurt! And on top of that... they all seem a bit different than anything I've fought before.
"Nngh!" Vahn noticed that the man wasn't immdetiatly charging, and raised both arms, his left arm extended out in a fist. "I see...if you're going to be silent until the end, then I'll finish this once and for all!" Vahn shouted out, as he reared his left arm back and began running forward again.
Twisting his hips and spinning several times as he charged forwards, his left leg would come out to smash the heel of his greave right into the man's chest.

There was a soft whine from the curled up form of the man that used to be Sunstrike. Two orbs stared at the girl across from him.
"Nahara..." The voice was filled with anxiety. "Go...find V-vahn...get out....I'll hold on as long... There was a dark curse and a tearing, breaking sound. Rivulets of white pouring down his arms, his skin melting as the black scales burned their slow way over his body. "I'll hold them back...but you have to run...NOW!!"
A wing exploded from his back, causing an unearthly scream to echo through the alleyway, and red hot liquid to spatter and melt the surrounding walls. Flames licked his whole body as he rose, skin and cloth melting and burning painfully off, joints distending and warping, breaking into a new form. His other wing burst through, causing another whimper.
There was something different about his change this time, however. Instead of being on all fours, he found himself raising on his haunches, his back legs strong enough to hold his weight, a tail connected to his back kept his balance. Even though he towered over Nahara, he wouldn't be much more then 8ft high, a far cry from his normal size when this happend. Stunned out of the pain he looked at his hands, blinking in surprise to see that they were still hands...maybe the claws needed a trim.
Before Nahara stood a completely grown, and winged, Lizard. Midnight black in colour with a deep red flowing underneath the scales, and mirrored in the crest that wove it's way from his head, down his back. His large, orange swirling eyes the only indication that the being in front of her was Sunstrike. He panted, open mawed for a second, before rearing his head back and screaming. The sound could probably be heard from all corners of the city, high as metal clawings it's way over glass, low as a feeding lion on the prowel.
Then it slumped, holding it's head in it's palms and making soft wounded noises, that remarkably sounded like human words.
"Bloody hurrrts, everrry frrreeking time...."

Although the soldier's whole movement was quite fancy, and probably an effective way of gaining momentum, it allowed the knight too much time, to aim his long spear and strike. Consider the speed he was spinning at, it was difficult to judge where the stab would hit. Somewhere in the torso though, biggest striking area. He'd taken the time to judge how he was moving, allowing the man a couple of rotations before moving his weapon.
And that's all she wrote.

"You!" Vahn growled out, as his spins came to a close and his left leg was pushing forward, aiming to froce it's way right into the center of the man's chest, when he felt the sharp stinging pain. "Guuuwaah!"
Y-You b*****d! He was held in place, his greave a good foot away from his opponent's chest. His face was fixed, mouth open-slacked, even as he shuddered from the spreading pain. He easily countered it! Easily...
Yellowed eyes stayed open, before he finally acted, twisting his body away and snapping his extended left leg against the length of the spear, with the weight and heat, unless it was made of a special alloy, would effectively snap it in two, leaving a good bit of it still embedded inside of Vahn.

And snap the spear did, but no worries. This was bamboo, the splinters were just as deadly, if not moreso than the spearhead lodged now in Vahn. Holding it like a kali stick the knight shuffled backwards, judging his opponent's reaction. He'd taken the blow well, much better then many would. Might as well enjoy the slight victory and make sure he didn't leave a smug opening.
- "Are you okay hero?" -
The sarcasm was laced so thick you could choke on it.

Alright then. Sliding his right foot back, he extended his left arm out once more, his right hand lowered and hovering over where the peice jutted out from his body. It had missed hitting something vital by only inches, but his ribs had paid for it.
"Never been better!" Vahn yelled out as he charged forward once more, turning on his heel and spinning in two quick revolutions;ducking low to the ground. Closing the gap between them both, so he could rush in with another strike, flowing in the same manner as before.

The same thing again? Well, this time he'd have to suffer dearly for making such a mistake. The idea that the soldier might have something else in mind flashed through for just a second, but the knight took no notice. The hero was already in such a rotten state, what trick could he have up his sleeve?
He took the splintered, but still deadly sharp bamboo shaft, and threw it at Vahn by the start of his second rotation, running up in an attempt to simply take the soldier down by force and have his way with the man's face, with his fists.

She stared in quiet fear. Her eyes had let her see... see the truth for so long, and she didn't care. But this-- this was more than truth. This was stark realization. So this...this is the "bridge"...
Her hands were in front of her face, an unknown feeling of fear quaking through her body, mixing in with a well of sadness... at his pain, his pain and frustration. "W-Why... Why is this happening to us!?" She lowered her heads, tears staining the floor, as the scream tore through the alley.
She stared up at Sunstrike through wet eyes, her hands shaking as they grasped onto the floor.
"I'm what you people would call... a devil."
She slowly picked herself up, holding a hand to her breast. It's just like that time... all over again.
~~
"I'll send you back where you came from!" He yelled out, the thrown projectile glancing off and to the side with a simple snap of his left arm, the wood biting into his flesh and making long scratches down the bicep.
He continued turning, and showed no signs of ending, even as his opponent ran forward as well, running right into the leg sweep that came twisting along the ground with that same speed, the greave sending up dirt and smoke.
If the leg sweep caught him off guard, then the knight would be sent tripping forward, AS Vahn would be leaping backwards, to literally stomp into his back, right ontop of his spine.

Sunstrike sighed softly, seeing the movement through his hands and looking at the girl. He could only imagine her fear right now, as the pain ebbed away, leaving him drained and lethargic.
"You rreally should have left...Narrra..." He couldn't quite get her whole name out through his muzzle. The clawed hands moved down to his sides and the face leaned forwards slowly and unthreateningly, actually placing itself in her hands gently. The scales would feel just short of too hot to hold, smooth, and dry. The smell of cinnamon would be strong as he shifted a little closer into her personal space. He wasn't sure if this would consol her or not...but it certainly began to do him a world of good.
"You've had a shock to the system, calm down a little and think...these things happen so we apprreciate those good things that happen to us." Orange orbs looked into her tearful ones. "I'll go get yourr brro, Hibon will be alrright, okay? But Vahn needs you now..."
Suddenly the creatures eyes widened and he pulled out of her hands, searching the ground for something, moving the dirt about. Finally he found what he was looking for in the pocket of what was left of his jeans. His ears flattened a little embarassed at his panic. Pulling it out, he handed it to Nahara.
"This is...something I was worrking on forr him. Kind of a...thankyou...I dunno..." Human emotions from something as large and alien looking as Sunstrike was now, was strange to take in, and right now he seemed really uncomfortable. "Go now...take this to him, and tell him I'll meet him on the other side of all this, alrright?"
He placed something small and delicate in her hands. It was amazing that it had survived all the chaos really. The dull red of it sparked in her hands as it traveled through the small sunlight that reached the recesses of the alley they were in.
It was a tiny carving in stone, the object that he had picked up at the stall had been a large uncut gem. Sunstrike had refined it with magic, carving bits out of it until it took shape. At first glance it would be a tiny mask, ruby coloured. But look deeper and weaving around itself, was a dragon, trapped within the maze of the overall shape.
Sunstrike heaved himself up and gave her a small nudge to the back. "Find him, give it to him...and then rrrescue my scaly butt...cause I'm gonna be inna load of trrrouble," A huge sigh and he was moving away from her, tail swishing as he went and muttering.
"As usual...
