Shinichi slowly sat up, the nap already restoring the bulk of his stanima. The other students appeared to be way ahead of him, so he had to hurry before they learned the attack! Pushing his hands off the ground, he somersaulted into a standing position, then tried to recall what training he was doing before he fainted. Shinichi glanced at the water clone, then smirked. That small rest had given him and idea; Now all that was left was the actual execution. He got into a defensive stance, then beckoned the clone to come at him. Focus on accuracy, not power, he told himself, repeating the words over and over again until they stuck in his mind.

Great, now all he had to do was.... KAPOW! While he was still planning his defense, the clone struck out and hit him in the ribs. Shinichi grimaced and leapt back a few meters to regain his composure. How did he fall for such a ... obvious mistake? The punch made him want to puke and the watery skin that pushed against his skin reminded him of neverending turbulence. It was exactly like the time he had gotten seasick on a boat trip down one of Kusagakure's rivers. Shinichi closed his eyes until the nausea dissapated, then stood with a raised hand before the clone. What happened there would never happen again. The clone, whom he had come to slightly despise, tilted its head dumbly and aimed a punch at his jaw.

He felt the balled up fist slide carefully past his own fingers, then smacked him in the jaw. Shinichi felt a tear surge to his eyes as he landed roughly in the dirt. Why can't he do this! That genin over there seemed to have no trouble, but why was this so difficult to him, member of the esteemed Harada clan? Woah, he was getting too complacent there. The rules stressed that power came sorely from training and that was what he was here to do, not whine about his failures! He pushed himself up, bracing himself for the clone's impact. It looked like it was going for his soft stomach, one of the harder places to block and reflect.

Again the rock hard water fist of irony slammed into his stomach and Shinichi doubled over, gritting his teeth to prevent any sound from escaping his lips. The clone was not as strong as a human, but after being hit repeatedly, the blows started to add up. This was so difficult and part of him enjoyed the challenge. His other half, however, kept nagging his body to stop on account of the difficulty of the exercise. No! Shinichi immediately straighted up, a fire growing in his eyes. What was he thinking? There was no way a simple water clone or a slightly challenging exericse could defeat him. That was simply unacceptable. He faced the clone this time, hands at his side so it wouldn't be able to predict his movements. There was no way he was going to fail this time.

Alright... I am ready to finish learning the Open Palm technique.. he thought as he arrived at the training grounds. There, waiting for him was the water clone. He approached the clone. "I am ready to proceed.." he said bowing. The clone explained the second part, and as soon as the clone finished explaining, they were ready to start. This time I have to redirect the attack, not block, nor dodge.. he said to himself reviewing the instructions ..and I have to do so with my palm. Kohki took his stance and signaled the clone, that he was ready. The clone rushed towards him with her fist ready to hit.

Kohki got distracted, when the clone hit him. The punchi hit him so hard that he tumbled to the ground. "Agh..." he said as he fell to the ground, covering his stomach. I let my guard down...

Kohki took his stance, and once again signaled the clone, that he was ready. Concentrate this time.. he told himself. The clone rushed towards him once more and attacked.

As the clone's punch came towards his stomach once more, he was able to, with his palm, push it down. The clone lost its balance and fell to the ground, fist touching the ground first. Yes, I made it.. he thought as he helped the clone up. The clone congrtatulated him and then took its stance to try it once more. Alright... if I did it once, I can do it again... he thought. He signaled the clone and the clone came towards him again.

Once again, he had managed to redirect the hit. He struggled doing so, but he made it. The clone sttacked, and just about the clone hit he pushed the punch with his palm. The clones fist redirected to his left, and made a flip to stay in balance and stay up. "Good job, you're progressing really nicely," the clone had complimented him. "Thank you.." Kohki said blushing. Then, they both took their stance and started again.
