Does anyone know how all-region/all-state band works? No one's really ever explained it to me. If you make all-region, do you get to try out for all-area if you make a higher chair? And the same for all-area to all-state? Also, how big are the areas for the all-regions and the all-areas?

The Color Fiend Does anyone know how all-region/all-state band works? No one's really ever explained it to me. If you make all-region, do you get to try out for all-area if you make a higher chair? And the same for all-area to all-state? Also, how big are the areas for the all-regions and the all-areas? Basically, if you make a high enough chair in the try-outs for each level, you advance to the next level until you eventually make it to the All-State Band which is the ultimate level of levels. Lol. The order of try-outs is: All-Region Pre-Area Area State Or at least, that's the way it is from where I come from. Brownsville, Texas! <3

I live in Gladewater Tx. It's a VERY small town...not really mentioned on a map. But it's west of Longview.

okay! hai! well to start off i have never ever been in regionals before >.< but i know for a fact that the schools attending the regionals,for richmond,texas will be all of lcisd school district

We just got a Division 1 at Regionals and hoping for top 10 in Area "B" next Week. If we make it, ON TO STATE biggrin

Ahh, when I was in high school(2 years ago) we were one of the best bands in the nation.(I have the ring to prove it) I must say that since my class of 2009 had graduated and our longtime director left his position, the band program there has been declining. Oh well, the years I spent were gloious, to say the least. There's nothing quite like walking around in another state with only your band t-shirt to give you any identity, and have total strangers approach you and say how much they admire you.
The blood, sweat, and tears I left on all of those fields across the nation will always be there, just like the programs I was in will always be in my memory and written on the pages of history itself. Band, especially marching band, is one of the best programs this nation has to offer; never have I felt such a sense of comraderie and oneness from any other sport or activity.
