As Kaya kissed him, Brayden couldn't help but return it, a hint of desperation present, but nonetheless he agreed, "Same to you, keep safe, I'll... I'll be with the water-mounted troops. Cye knowing Surf will come to be of some help," he gulped, "And I need to get over this water phobia if I am to be any use, so might as well kill two birds with one stone, right?" he murmured when they parted from the kiss, leaning into Kaya's touch gently with a smile. Which then faded when he noticed the marks on Kaya's arm, worry replacing the gentle warmth that was present.
"Wha-" he halted, recalling the events back before the group had been sent back in time, realization kicking in. His eyes widened slightly, "Back when we found the doorway," he murmured quietly, about ready to kick himself for not realizing it sooner.
"You're hurt..." was all he could manage for a moment, 'because of me' was added as a slightly misconceptualized silent thought afterwards, Brayden's brain never really comprehending that something bad couldn't be entirely his fault when he didn't realize it soon enough to prevent it.
Brayden grasped the arm, gently, and avoiding the marks that marred Kaya's arm, as he examined the damage. Doing a mental inventory of his bag proved little help, he didn't have enough cash to buy any burn heals, or even anything other than a few scatterings of potions. He didn't think goggles or chewing gum would help too much either...
Taking off his vest, knowing it was a ridiculous idea, but not coming up with anything better, Brayden called out Cye, getting the Feraligatr to dampen the material before he tied it around Kaya's arm, wincing slightly at how amateur it might seem, but not really having any first-aid knowledge than this.
"I know it probably won't help," he murmured, "But at the very least, promise you'll see someone who knows about this kind of stuff when you can?" he requested, head down as his ears flicked backwards slightly nervously.

The younger trainer nodded with a smile, "Same to you, if you don't get out of this in one piece, I won't forgive you." Although the comment about blowing the city up did worry him a bit. Note to self, never make Pokelatian princes angry. Brayden almost laughed, but he had to admit, it was definitely enough to make his cheeks feel slightly warm to know that someone cared enough for him to declare something like that.
Brayden nodded, "Thanks," he grinned to Sylam, taking the offered Pokeball. He decided to keep his current party out for the time being, knowing that he could trust his current team, no matter how hard it got out there.
Even if out there meant being on the water again.
Nodding to the others, Brayden saluted, motioning to Cye as he recalled the Feraligatr back into his Pokeball for the time being as he exited the temple. "Suppose I should get going," he nodded, before leaving the room.

Craig nodded, following after Brayden, as he guided the boy to where the other water type-mounted troops had gathered, at the edge of one of the pools that circled the temple. "So, you're new, eh? Hope you can live up to the trust Master Sylam places in you," Craig commented with a curt nod, "We're about set to head on out, call your Pokemon, and we'll be heading southward first, then strike the enemy forces the same time the Prince's ship and the others will." "Roog and Rahal will accompany you," Craig continued, regarding Brayden, "They're my most trusted men, and I'm sure you'll be able to help them out. Two men stepped forward at Craig's request, one clad in light blue, the other in red. "I assure you we will do our best, and I hope I can expect the same from you," Rahal nodded with a faint smile. "You'd better kick some butt out there!" Roog snorted, "I don't want to be babysitting while we're in the middle of a crucial battle..." Both men called out their partners, Rahal a Milotic and Roog a Gyarados, each hopping aboard their Pokemon before pointing out over the water, "That's our target," Rahal nodded, "The main ship is the one Valsindar is on, we'll strike and retreat, a simple enough tactic, but one that will draw the enemy's attention away from the main forces with the Prince, who will strike simultaneously." Lucretia nodded to Kaya with a smile, "I'm glad to hear we have an experienced trainer helping with our defenses here," she said. "We'll be gathering on various levels of the temple, as it would be easy to access any number of places with different types of Pokemon. Of course the main entrances will be guarded the heaviest, however, the upper levels will be as well, since a Flying type could easily carry a rider up to the windows on the top story." "However, the main importance is guarding lady Lymsley, the Prince's younger sister. I don't recognize you, so you must be new to this city. The princess, simply put, is Lilygrove's greatest asset. She is able to communicate with the ocean itself, knowing its will and helping us. That is how we knew of Valsindar's attack in advance. She has gained the title of the Sea Star, as did her late mother before her, and is Valsindar's main objective in this battle. He will spare nothing to bring his plans to fruition, which include using Lymsley's abilities for corrupt purposes, more as a weapon than a defense." "It is your choice which level you wish to guard," Lucretia nodded.

"I assure you, I won't be a burden," Brayden declared, calling out Cye, who easily dove into the water. Brayden had a bit more difficult time, climbing aboard Cye cautiously, but realizing that as long as he remained on the back of the Feraligatr, things might go a bit smoother this time than the journey to the temple ruins.
He could only hope his luck would hold as he nodded at the two riders' instructions. It seemed like a simple enough plan. Dangerous all the same, but easy to follow.
"Alright, let's go," he motioned for Cye to join alongside the others. The Feraligatr rumbled his agreement, cutting through the waters as he positioned himself beside the Gyarados and Milotic. He was a bit antsy at being over the water again, and had to conceal a wince every time a stray splash dampened his pant legs, but he was determined. And anything that got in the way of a determined Brayden was definitely going down when he put his mind to it.

Craig nodded, "Alright move out!" he called, as the assorted water types started in unison towards their target. Craig, atop his own Dewgong, led the charge, as the battleships of Valsindar rose into view ahead of them.
Off on the opposite side, the ships from Lilygrove were also getting into position, and as a flare went up, both sides leaped into action. Roog and Rahal both ordered their Pokemon forward along with the others, striking at the hull of the ship hard with their attacks, causing the wood to groan in complaint to the assault, the ship shuddering for a moment in the water. Both soldiers leaped up, motioning to Brayden to follow if he wished.

Brayden was about to follow suit with his own attack, begining to issue Cye forward, but pausing a moment as he heard Nona behind him. He spun, nearly falling from atop the Feraligatr's back, as he grinned.
"Hey!" he called, waving eagerly, definitely a bit more relaxed with a friend present. His gaze whipped back around at the attack Roog and Rahal inflicted on the hull of the warship looming in front of them.
As the recoil from the blows churned the ocean around him, Brayden decided to follow the two mounted rider's example, motioning Cye forward, whispering his plans in the Feraligatr's ear.
More than eager to try this plan out, Cye used his claws to get ahold of the rough wood that lined the sides of the ship, using the momentum of the water to lift himself, crawling up the side of the ship, Brayden grasping onto the spines along the Feraligatr's back. Pushing himself over the lip of the railing with a growl, Cye hefted himself over the side of the ship, Brayden hopping off his partner, glad to be back on dry turf, despite being on the deck of a ship full of soldiers definitely not on his side.
Still, he wasn't about to give in. Neither was he willing to give up until he had done his best. Whatever the outcome.

Craig followed behind Brayden, his Dewgong firing an Aura Beam, rider hanging on as he struck at the weakened wood where the previous attacks, combined with Cye's claws had struck. The wood crackled, but held, chunks flying a bit. Craig motioned the Dewgong forward, who leaped from the water easily, Craig unsheathing his sword, landing on the deck of the ship after Brayden did.
Chaos was erupting all along the deckside, as the battleships were struck on all sides, men crying out as the battle commenced, ringing out over the water in a jumbled mess.
Roog and Rahal fought back to back, each with their water types in front of them, circling about and attacking as one, the Gyarados and Milotic pretty much indecipherable from each other, aside from the differences in their scales.
A circle of soldiers were around the two, as more poured from the decks below, spears and Pokeballs at the ready. They swarmed the deck, a group surrounding each patch of attackers, each with determined glares on their faces. A group faced off against Brayden and Nona as well, sneering as they called their Pokemon to the deck of the ship.
The ones facing off against Brayden sent out a Metagross and a Dragonair, while the ones against Nona sent out an Absol and a Hitmontop.
{{These battle's won't be for set hp, but will be rather quick. Basically like what happened with the battle against Eve. Attacks are not guaranteed to hit your Pokemon, if you're creative enough. Similar to a Pokemon contest I suppose. Use anything posted in these descriptions to your advantage.}}
The Metagross charged, shaking the deck of the ship with his bulk, striking at Cye, while the Dragonair followed suit, curling about the trainer, squeezing like a constrictor, as the two ganged up on Cye and Brayden.
The Absol charged forward, claws digging into the wood of the deck, blades singing as he hurled a series of strikes at Nona in the water, the Hitmontop following with a spinning series of kicks.
Craig was similarly engaged, sword ringing out against the blades of a Scyther, the two dueling, sparks flying from their blades as they faced off against each other.
From the Crimson, Sylam shouted his orders, Mikael alongside him, as the two motioned the troops on board onto the enemy ship. A barrage of arrows led the charge, flying free from the grasps of the archers on the decks, as those who fought in the rear used their Pokemon to release a second barrage of lightning, from a few Raichu and other electric types. The strike blew apart the mast, as it fell to the water below, taking a few enemy soldiers along with it into the darkness below the waves.
Mikael joined alongside those on the ship, firing arrow after arrow at any who came near, face stoic, but determined. Sylam followed along behind him, rapier drawn as he faced off against those who remained.
"Our troops are focusing mainly on hit-and-run strikes!" Craig shouted over his battle with the Scyther, "Make sure you cause as much damage as you can, but move onto the next ship whenever possible! Our goal is to cripple as many as we can before they can reach the shore!"

Cye growled, eyes narrowing as he met the charge of the Metagross, flung backwards at the impact, he spun, snatching ahold of the falling mast with his powerful jaws, and using that momentum to swing him around back to face against the heavyweight he was up against. Normally the Feraligatr would much prefer having a nap this time of night, but this definitely would be more interesting.
As the Metagross charged again, Cye was prepared for it this time, chilling his very breath to subzero temperatures, icicles shattering around him as he darted forward as well, clamping down with an icy bite that literally froze the Metagross where it stood, surrounded in a thin layer of ice.
Cye smirked triumphantly, but stopped his gloating, hearing a strangled gasp from Brayden, who was reaching for a Pokeball desperately, as the Dragonair tightened his grip around him. The once raven-haired trainer was turning a bit blue, his lungs unable to deliver oxygen properly. Cye growled low, a blood-curdling sound that hadn't been heard from the Feraligatr ever. Even Brayden's eyes widened at the sound.

The Dragonair released Brayden to face off against his other opponent, leaving Brayden gasping helplessly on the deck of the ship. He managed to reach clumsily for his belt, coughing, as he grabbed a random Pokeball from his party. At the moment, it didn't matter who he was using, he had to help Cye out.
He threw the Pokeball he had grabbed, as Aella emerged, staring up in shock at the Dragonair who hovered above them. However, she recovered well, leaping atop Cye's back to peck at the dragon, while Cye clamped down with his jaws on the dragon, ice forming around his fangs once again.
The Dragonair fell to the deck floor, knocked around a bit, but still able to continue the fight. However, Cye wouldn't have any of this, and closed his eyes momentarily, concentrating as he summoned the surrounding water.
Fighting a water type with the power of Surf in the middle of an ocean? Not a good idea.
The surrounding waters rose to the Feraligatr's command, creating an arc of water that Cye was careful not to let touch Brayden, as he swept the Dragonair back into the ocean, along with the defrosting Metagross.
The weight of the Metagross alone was enough to sink the Pokemon, as both soldiers withdrew their partners, grumbling as they charged at Brayden, spears upraised.
Eyes widening slightly, definitley not used to war, Brayden froze up, unable to find himself with enough wits about him to attack. However, Aella took up the offensive for him, tackling both men from the side, sending them sprawling on the deck.
Not waiting for them to get up again, Brayden recalled Aella swiftly, hopping onto Cye's back as he dodged the battle between Craig and the Scyther.
"Let's move onto the next ship," he murmured to Cye, who looked to his trainer curiously, waiting until Brayden nodded.
"I know if you jump from here I'll get wet, but we'll just have to take that chance," he smiled faintly. Cye grumbled, not pleased, but the two saw no other choice. Darting forward with a burst of speed, Cye dove from the now mastless ship, Brayden's breath catching as the ocean rushed up to meet them.
