Lub dub, lub dub, lub dub. Was the prominent noise to Lotus at the moment. She wasn't used to it yet but she was learnign to tolerate it. She amused herself by counting silently he heartbeats between certain landmarks as they walked. She was surprised at how slow it was, never changing at all.

Chaos continued the long walk noticing the girl...Lotus wasn't talking nearly as much as she once had. He didn't look over his shoulder but spoke out and back to her his heartbeat never changing. "Is anything wrong Lotus-san?" He called her san to let her know he respected her on some level...what level it was on he probably would never say.

She lost her count and cursed under her breath, her Box of Anger rattled and snarled but she shushed it in her mind, "No, Chaos-san, nothing is wrong" Like you'd really care anyway, a ferocious thought snarled. She chided herself.

Chaos shrugged slightly and kept walking. "You just don't seem to be yourself...few snide comments...little snapping at...you seem almost civil..." He kept walking slowly looking ahead for the boy that had long disappeared running away.

Well someone has to be. That snarling voice again. She gritted her teeth, "Yes, Chaos-san." She said. What's the matter with me? The Box was vibrating gain like some caged thing. She quieted it again, assurign it, probably in vain, it would have plenty of time to lash out once she found a target.

Chaos kept walking in silence for a while and then stopped looking ahead of them. "You know...if you don't like me...or you hate me so much then why do you follow me and want to train with me?..." Chaos slowly turned and looked at the girl not much younger than he.

Lotus stopped when he stopped, looking at the ground. She didn't look up when he turned to look at her, "I told you already, Chaos-san." She said it quietly. Lub dub, lub dub, lub dub. She squeezed her eyes shut before she could stop herself to make the noise quiet, it succeeded but he'd likely ask her what's wrong.

Chaos looked at her but didn't ask what was wrong. He slowly shook his head. "Strings of Destiny Lotus-san...you'll probably have to get used to it..." He turned and began walking again slowly.

That name rang in her ears for bit as if he had shouted them straight in her ears. She lifted her head sharply and regarded him intensely, "What did you say?" then tacked on, "Chaos-san?"

Chaos kept walking in silence for a while. "Don't call me Chaos-san...especially if you don't mean it...it isn't respectful..." He sighed slightly as they walked pulling the straw hat down a little further covering up his eyes a little more. "I said earlier, Strings of Destiny...they'll probably keep you in their hold for a while...you'll have to get used to them." He kept walking without his heartbeat changing, or his movement wavering.

Just as Yumi was about the leave the house the boy came running. He looked wild, scared and in pain and he also attracted a lot of attention as he ran down the street like a lunatic. Yumi hissed and nearly threw him through the gate as he came closer.
"What the hell is the meaning of this? Running around like a fool." The boy still seemed to be in some kind of chock and wasn't able to say anything. Yumi sighed and dragged him into the house, extremely irritated. Obviously she had handled him too roughly, since the boy finally fainted.
A few hours later Yumi decided to wake him up. The doctor in the house was standing next to her, ready to start examining the boy. They offered him something to drink, but he refused. Then finally they noticed that his mouth was swollen. The doctor opened the mouth, the expression on his face when he finally closed the mouth told Yumi everything she needed to know. A pen and a paper was brought to the boy.
"Now, write down what happened." Yumi said with her sweetest voice, trying to calm the boy. It seemed to work, he picked up the pen and started writing, first slowly and wobbily, then more quickly and steadily. It didn't take long for him to finish the story.
"Whatever, such a desperate man... why would I care about fighting him? I have no reason whatsoever... I thought something more had happened. Well, I'll guess I'll go now, it's already too late. I've been wasting my time here." She gave the paper to the other interested men, that all seemed to have no clue of what was going on. As she had walked thorugh the gates the second time, she had already forgotten all about Chaos.

Strings my foot! she hissed in her head, recalling the pain, That's what it must feel like to be stabbed in the chest! "I do mean it, you are my superior, Chaos-san." She said it quietly, walking behind him, she fell into silence once again.

Chaos sighed slightly shaking his head slowly. "The Strings of Destiny...don't think I don't know what they are...I've had one since I killed your father...I've recently received another...but anyways the one I received from your father linked me to you...I thought I could simply ignore it and let it go...but obviously it wasn't in our destiny's eh?" He continued walking and saw something. He knew who it was...it wasn't Yumi...his only superior...and only because he followed his orders. Chaos stopped as the older and taller man approached. Chaos looked up slightly to the man his eyes narrowing. "Didn't Yusaske tell you I wasn't coming back?...I could have sworn I did..." The man looks down at Chaos and nods slowly. "Hai...that he did but I know why you left and this is what I'm here to tell you...she won't fight you and we both know it...not for a while anyways and you've made a significant impact on her life...which you probably never will...serve me again Chaos Sakura...Hikage Konton...Chaos of the Shadows...serve me again to win this revolution..." Chaos gritted his teeth and turned his head to the side spitting down at the ground and then spoke. "Fine...if you'll give Lotus a job as well...she needs training and I will not accept your offer unless she can join the 'club' as it were." The man smiled slightly and nodded slowly handing Chaos a piece of paper with his next assignment of assasination. Chaos took it and nodded slowly. The man offered his hand to the young girl. "Please come with me...Chaos works much easier alone...we can help you at my manor..." Chaos looked at her nodding slightly and tipping his hat before suddenly...he was gone with the wind to kill. He read the letter and then burned it. He was to kill conspirators and a few known assasains. Chaos named the names in his head and rose slowly off the roof of the home in the small town where Yumi had only hours been earlier. He didn't know this and didn't care for now...He would only care if he ran across her. Otherwise it was of little consequence to him. He saw a light and went to it seeing a doctor treating the boy on the bed...the messenger boy. The boy flipped out trying to cry out but barely making a moan.
The doctor held him down saying. "Now now son I know it hurts but you must stay still." Chaos' blade touched the doctors' neck. "You're right...if you stay still nothing will be hurt." Another blade pressed against the other side of his neck trapping him. There was too much blade in front to try and get out that way. Chaos spoke again. "Now...I am to find a few Shensengumi assasains...would you mind showing me their hideout doctor?...or maybe the boy?..." He looked down to the boy and he shook his head. The blade moved to quickly to see. But one could see his head...on the bed as his body fell behind it. Chaos looked back to the doctor who was sweating even harder now. "Now doctor...I'm sure you can direct Hikage Konton to his desired place no?" He nodded and began to tell Chaos how to get to the hideout how the boy had explained to him. Chaos' blade moved faster as he was in the middle of speaking. His head fell off and rolled while his body fell Chaos cleaning his blades on a cloth before heading outside saying. "I hate betrayers...I can never tell the truth from their lips...at least the boy was a good boy." He walked out having gotten no closer to the hideout than before...but then again maybe he wouldn't have too much trouble...he would stay in the nearby inn...and find some things out...He left the house and went to the inn asking for a room and checking without a drop of blood or tiredness upon him. He was a clean man...just a wandering samurai...

Lotus didn't have time to protest Chaos's going, she didn't want him to leave and she was surprised at this discovery. She looked up at the man narrowly, then at his hand, her mouth screwed up skeptically. You don't have a choice in the matter, doll, just take the job! The voice provided, irritably, she sighed, "Where is this manor of yours...I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name, sir."

The man bowed slightly to her as he spoke waving in a gesture to say past the town. "My name is Yoshimitsu...or so I'm called...but my manor is in Osaka at the moment...I would be glad to find a job for you to help me with as long as you're willing...you're an assasain aren't you?...like Chaos?" He wanted to know where he could use her...that would help him start off at least.
