Nancy found herself smiling at Shirou's excitement he was pretty happy she wondered if he knew what any of these tasted like for the past 10 year he had been missing. She blinked slowly as he began to explain the food and she gasped in delight at the desserts,"Oh gosh shirou! I wanna try both!", she said unsure which one to take,"Can I have a bite of both?", she begged,"I just wont know which one to eat if I can't taste either of them", she expained smiling as she gave him a pair of puppy dog eyes to seal the deal.

Nancy took a bite out of both the cheese and the chocolate treats before her mouth exploded, in flavor and she felt herself gasping at the delight taste that hit her taste buds,"Um shirou..", she said swallowing as she clutched the two sticks,"Um.. I know this sounds bad but I dont wanna give either of these up...", she said defensively,"you can have the other stuff!! I just wanna eat these!"..

Nancy felt rather happy in able to eat her treats and she beamed in excitement,"Great!!", she said happily munching on the food she swung her feet back and forth under neath the picnic table in pleasured enjoyment after finishing off both she rubbed her tummy in delight and used the back of her hand to wipe off any food debre,"Oh gosh that was good", she concluded sighing with contentment she blinked to look over at shirou who seemed to be enjoying his meal she smiled,"I'm gonna go put these away okay shirou?", she said happily picking up her overly stuffed animals she told him behind the fuzziness,"I'll be right back!".

Nancy had been putting her stuff in the car when she heard voices turning she began to hide at the sight of Roger Vanders he was with a few of the women they had complained until he brought them to watch the fireworks she began to creep back around the festival until she bumped into someone she began to apologize immediately,"oh sorry!", she concluded as the man blinked slowly and smiled,"nancy!", he said happily it was thomas her friend from highschool the one from the party,"Oh hi!", she was rather puzzled at his excitement,'Im so glad your here I wanted to ask you a question", he said taking up her hand she could feel how cold and clamy his hands were it seemed he was nervous,"Uh...", she was pulled away in a secluded spot near the festival on a hill there was a pretty oak tree and as the moonlight hit it he told her,"Nancy I was.. Uh.. meaning to ask you this a long time ago but since stuff happened but I have knews so.", he turned to her smiling,"I'm going to a university in the fall and I'm going to be a doctor! and I wanted to say something before I left..", he told her taking up her hand he bent on one knee and pulled out a gold band,"will you wait for me to come back and be my girl?", he asked. Nancy felt rather shocked what was this about? She didn't remember thomas every liking her wait... she recollected all the times he went out of his way for her in the past and she felt eat up with guilt,"Uh... I can't...", she began to back off as he got off the ground looking scared,"What you mean nancy...? Whats going on?", he said reaching out to her as she recoiled,"Look I'm in love with someone else okay your just gonna have to move on..", she then ran away from him leaving him on the hill as she raced down the hill she slid and got herself all dirty but she didn't care she didn't even head back to the festival she was to scared of vanders or even Thomas going down there she began to race down the road heading back home.

Nancy found herself running faster and faster until she was at her home road and with that being said she began to cry as she ran into the house and up her stairs slamming her bedroom door, her father was blinking slowly as he looked over at his wife,"Whats that about where is shirou?", he asked mary struggled and went upstairs to comfort nancy not seeing shirou anywhere Nancy's father found the whole situation odd and went over to ask his parents if they had seen shirou at all. Vanders was sitting down bored out of his mind when he yanked out of his seat pulled off to a corner and held out blade point,"WHAT THE HELL?!?!", he snapped feeling fear for once in his life he was quick to answer,"If your talking bout nan I aint seen her all damn week", he told him struggling in his grasp,"Look I'm just trying to watch the festival don't be killin a fella over it!", he snapped as he tried to struggle out of shirou's grip. Back at home nancys mother had finally came in heard her daughters crying tale and woe and then sent her to bed with a sleeping tonic she went downstairs and heading over to the Emiya's,"At some point it seems Shirou and nancy got separate you and Mr. Emiya should head to the carnival and tell him she is alright she is just shook up over a proposal", she explained the situation to everyone with nancy telling her how her high school friend had tried proposing to her and she just realized until now that he liked her to begin with,"Thomas is a good boy and he was going to succeed in life is shirou hadn't never came home they would have made a good pair", Mary sighed,"Our child is such a gullible girl please forgive her", george grimaced,"She is and should be grounded for it after apologizing to shirou tomorrow", concluded george as he turned to Mr. Emiya,"Lets get going then Kiritsugu", he told him as they both headed in Emiya's car to the carnival to let shirou know nancy was okay. Mary sighed as she watched them go,"I hope poor shirou is okay... I'm so upset with my child for being so ignorant...", replied mary as Irisviel smiled and told her,"It will be alright shirou is an understanding boy and he wont hate nancy for it... he must be very concerned for her though", she concluded. Both women talked about nancy and headed over to the Harpenter household to wait for all the boys to return.

George blinked as they were heading down the road ,"You have a bright boy there Kiritsugu", find that Shirou was meeting them about half way he concluded as they all headed back home george invited them into the house as the women were sitting down waiting for them,"Well shirou somehow you and nancy got separated and when you did some guy from highschool proposed to her", he concluded,"She got all tore up about it and left with out thinking she has always been rather over emotional..", concluded george as mary nodded,"We apologize for our daughter shirou", said mary,"She is a sleep right now but If you think you can wake her you have permission to go talk with her", concluded Ms. Harpenter.

Nancy was drifting off into a deep sleep when something cool to the touch stroked her face and hair and she slowly blinked her eyes open though they struggled to stay awake,'Shirou...?", she said slowly forming the words on her lips but she wasn't sure if she actually said them. She blinked slowly closing her eyes once more,"S..o..r.rr...e..y...", the world came out very slowly and dragged, as her breathing steadied as she was back to sleep within a moment.

They all nodded to him as he left out and the Emiya's went ahead and headed home knowing there son would be fine as we move into where thomas is...
After the strange yet brutal crushing of being told she was in love with someone else Thomas went home told his parents and siblings he was leaving and went ahead and packed up... If shirou found him he would be waiting by the bus stop waiting for the midnight bus to come by and pick up people to take them to the bigger city. He sat on the bench staring at the ring in his hand... He spent countless of summers working to buy this golden band... he had it engraved with his and her initials on it... there graduating class and even a confession of love... It was beautiful in his eyes but she just got scared and ran off like it was nothing. He miserably placed it back in its case and tucked it away in his pocket he felt his whole body was heavy with stones pushing his hair out of his eyes he blinked slowly as he thought he seen someone coming through the fog.
